Oct 16 - worked a bit more on transcribing recipes of my sister's into an ebook so my nephew and I will have a copy of all the things she either had bookmarked in her cookbooks or scrawled on notes on the fridge door. Need to work away at that more regularly.

Oct 16 - After being so busy the last couple of days I decided to relax today, though I was still feeling energized enough to go ahead and wash the interior of the shower stall while taking mine this morning. Apart from that I crocheted a little and gamed a lot; my world in Planet Crafter is progressing mightily.

Had turkey dinner leftovers casserole with cranberry sauce for dinner tonight.

After 16 months I just had a conversation with a gentile who expressed support/sympathy for Hamas just immediately changed their mind after being informed that their stated goal is the murder/ethnic cleansing of Jews from the Levant and that they committed the Oct 7th terrorist attacks. Miracles do happen.

It seems like conditions out there aren't ideal for life at all, but fungi seem to adapt to anywhere, any interesting mycology outside the outpost? Any that's bothered your adorable plants?

A few small species can survive out there yes! It’s always a delight to see orange bubbling from underneath grey rocks, and to wonder about the mycelium beneath.

But fungi are a big part of my work! You’re right in that they can seem to thrive anywhere, in fact my current fungi task is working on perfecting what I’m nicknaming “Gamma Guzzlers”. Trying to harness that mushroom resilience.

These little shrooms can feed on radiation, and the hope is that by selective and accelerated breeding, I can create a super species that could potentially mop up a lot of fallout. I have planted a few colonies outside, and results so far have been fantastic! Luckily ■■■■ speeds up the breeding process greatly, it’s almost as if I have evolution itself as part of my toolset. I can monitor the melanin levels being produced, how they react to the radiation, and so far it has been going great.

As for outside species contaminating my greenhouse, luckily we are yet to face that problem! The airlocks into the facility are really sterile and thorough, this work is incredibly delicate and external forces could very much meddle with the little ecosystem.

I can't believe that it's already been a week without my favorite 1D member!

Hello?! All I want to do is wake up from this bad dream called a nightmare and know that Liam is still here. But I can't because this is real. I can't even accept the fact that he's gone!!

Like I've always said, It wasn't his to go yet, and he was still too young to leave.

This talented and amazing man, still had so many years including watching his kiddo grow up. And as time would’ve gone on death should've waited until it was actually Liam's time to go (but even then it still would’ve been heartbreaking and devastating either way) but no this soon.

Liam once said back in 2013, "It seems to me that when I die these words will be written on my stone".

Rest in heavenly Paradise Angel. The boys and everyone all miss you and love you so much. Fly high angel.
