like a year ago, someone tried to say i only started rooting for the Chiefs after Travis Kelce entered the spotlight because of Taylor Swift. RECEIPTS TO THE CONTRARY:

please note that i did jump ship once Brady and the Pats’ reputation came into question… go birds

ALSO note: the Patriots are my team. I only ever rooted for someone else under the caveat of “if not the Patriots, I guess they’ll do”.

contextualizing how invested I was in the 2018 season (my heart rate watching the pats vs chiefs in the AFC championship game, January 2019 (the pats won && went on to win the super bowl) (this was alongside the below texts and it amused me):

my message to some friends right after the game:

you gotttta understand, Mahomes’ style was so refreshing after watching Brady for two decades. Man could move without getting sacked! What a wild concept!

years later, after Brady left the division:
