Oct 21 - Gamed a lot, crocheted a little; still deeply immersed in playing Planet Crafter. Just me for supper; I decided to haul a tub of chili out of the freezer, which I had some of for supper with buttered toast. The leftover chili can be tomorrow's lunch.

Oct 22 - Pretty much a repeat of yesterday, except with more crocheting, and supper was fish sticks, oven fries, and baby carrots.

Oct 23 - Made tomato-vegetable rice with tuna.

Oct 24 - Initial appointment with a chiropodist to have my bad foot evaluated. Looks like I'll be getting orthotics to give it better support; which, annoyingly, is one of those handful of things not covered by the provincial health plan. At least they're relatively inexpensive to have done; it'll run me about $200. Another option would be a leg brace that keeps my weight off of that foot, but the damage isn't bad enough to actually require that (yet... hoping it doesn't get any worse).

For supper I got the leftover duck with beans out of the freezer and served it with a salad.

Somehow, over the last few months, Min-ji had become absolutely obsessed with Dante. Or more so, firefighters. It had started with that trip to the station, but ever since they moved into their little beachside house over two months ago, and along with Kai's family, Dante and whatever of his crew he could convince to drag along had been there, helping fix it all up. There was still some ways to go, but Min's room was painted her favourite shade of purple, she had a play set in the back yard, there was a kitchen table they shared breakfast at every morning, and most importantly; and there was no longer mould speckling every. surface of the ceiling.

But now the four year old was absolutely besotted with Dante, firefighters, and of course, wanting to be a firefighter herself. He supposed it was a step up from before, when she'd be convinced she wanted to be a horse. When the pair went to the budget shop to look for a costume, there was no contest. She marched straight past the princess dresses, didn't bat an eyelid at the spooky ghosts, ignored the superheroes, and didn't stop until she was right. infront of the firefighter costume.

Kai groaned internally, knowing what it was about to bring, but bought the costume anyway. And now here they were, about to go trick or treating, when the knock came at the door. Kai got to it first, a warning of "Don't make a fucking deal of this," before Min-ji was pushing past him, yelling "Dante!" as she did so, dressed head to toe in her fight fighter costume.
