OneShot: World Machine Edition coming to PC - Gematsu

Publisher KOMODO and developer Future Cat Games will release a PC version of OneShot: World Machine Edition via Steam with full Steam Deck support, the companies announced. A release date was not announced.

OneShot: World Machine Edition first launched for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch on September 22, 2022. It is a reimagined and expanded version of the original OneShot, which was released for PC via Steam, with new collectible content and features.

OneShot is a puzzle-adventure game with a pixel art artstyle, the story follows the character Niko adventuring through a desolate world bringing the sun, the only hope of salvaging the world. Along your journey you solve both point and click adventure type puzzles and meta puzzles involving interaction with both the operating system and game files kinda like uhhh. Imscared? idk I can’t think of a better example rn. Aesthetically similar to both Deltarune chapters 1 and 2, the darkness and mystery of the first and robots and cities of the second (and Temmie Chang actually did some art for this game this is a good comparison I’m not crazy), there are so many robots oh god. Oneshot dropped on the switch the other day and I cant wait to play it

Y’know at first when I got to the second run of WME (World Machine Edition), I was really confused as to why the clock was not only active again, but ticking upwards instead of down.

Couldn’t think of a reason as to why until I decided to dig into the AMA for the version’s release a while back and found this:

Which then gave me a thought: the whole clock room was just a normal area in the Refuge used for tracking the days until the new year.

Kinda like those online clocks that tell you exactly that.

Heck I could even see the area once being used to host a new years party of sorts in the past, especially with the higher deck area and how Rue said it’s one of the tallest areas in the Refuge. What’s a better spot to welcome the new year than the place with the best view of the city?

And with the knowledge that (originally, at least) the clock was used to count down to Solstice’s release date (along with the timer getting reset back a little when it was delayed) and with this new usage for the clock added in this version of the game...

I have come to the brilliant conclusion that the Author just

hijacked the city’s new year’s clock to count down to the intended releases for his Solstice patch (mainly for the player and probably Rue) and now I’m just imagining everyone in the city seeing their new years clock suddenly start ticking downwards and just
