#Oricorio Pom Pom style

For my first go through Alola I played Sun. The team consisted of Primarina, Lycanroc (midday), Salazzle, Mudsdale, Alolan Raichu, and I think Alolan Ninetales. I'm now playing through Moon and I'm trying not to use the same Pokemon I had on my Sun team. I am reusing Primarina (currently a Brionne) and Mudsdale (currently a Mudbray) just because they're some of my favorites from the region. I've also got a Pom Pom style Oricorio and Cutiefly on my team right now. I'd love to stick with Alolan mons, but any suggestions on who I should try?

Yes, the eye-bleeding colours were intentional. I wanted to draw oricorio because, once again, it's a very unpopular Pokemon that I think deserves more recognition. I will draw the other forms in the future, but for now here's the Pom-Pom style.

Maybe an odd question but I was replaying Pokemon Moon and thought of you and wanted to ask about Sweets your Oricorio~☆ Has she ever tried any of the other forms (via nectar) or has she only ever been Pom-pom style? Oh that's a fun question :D Sweets has BARELY ever changed her form before. She started out as a PomPom Oricorio and she has stayed that way throughout El's journey after El captured her. It feels strange to El to change Sweets' form. She has tried it once out of curiosity after optaining the nectars, but quickly changed her back, since she loves her little bird the most in her original form. Sweets doesn't seem to mind to switch forms, it's in an Oricorios nature to change, but she also doesn't show a desire to change form and seems content the way she is. But outside of her PomPom style, she's definitely the most comfortable in Sensu Style. Pa'u makes her uncomfortable, given how used she is to having strong feathered wings.

El has been participating in a lot of Pokemon Contests in the past, back when she spent a year in Hoenn, so should she ever perform with Sweets I think she's most likely either going for OG PomPoms or switch to Sensu Style depending on the performance.

Alright guys the fable smp pokemon au brainrot is back and full swing because ocie was posting about it so here's a couple of thoughts based on that (warning this post is a bit long 😅)

Ok ok, so it terms of what pokemon people would have and how they got them, here's the thoughts

I think icarus' partner pokemon would be an archeops they got from their dad. Something about the overworld foundation doing some kind of research with ancient pokemon and fable giving his kid one seems right. They'd also probably have a pom-pom style oricorio and a decidueye (something about a ghost type archer pokemon that bird shaped feels right). They'd absolutely have almost exclusively flying types. Charles is just a really high level torchic they got from and trade and cant use.

Rae would probably have an Espeon. It's just feels right for him between it being a psychic type and evolving through high friendship. Going with the idea of him studying psychic and dark types, an inkay could be good for that, but idk if it fits his vibe. I also think that a pa'u style oricorio could be fun because he could totally study its dancing and how that connect with its "psychic energy". Also it could be matching with icarus which is fun. While it's not dark or psychic, a lucario or riolu could also be fun because they literally sense auras. Like. It's their whole thing. A lucario evolves with high friendship, but it also might be a bit to strong for rae to own. Maybe a riolu that evoles later on.

Athena just gets all the fire types. And maybe some fairy and dark types. Their partner pokemon is absolutely a torracat. They deserve all the fire types. Athena could also have a baile style oricorio so all of prince trio can have matching bird guys (maybe I just like oricorio alot. But it's a fire type and it fits and its fun). Just give this guy fire pokemon. And also maybe an alcremie because baking.

On that same note, give Jamie a dachsbun. And some bear shaped pokemon.

Arisanna gets fairy pokemon, specifically I think her partner pokemon is a togekiss because I think the allays being togepi is really fun. Im not entirely sure about what other pokemon she would have tho. Maybe an azumaril because blue. I dont know how vexing would translate over to pokemon au, but vexed ari would absolutely have a tinkaton.

I think magearna comes into play somehow here, maybe Caspian would have it and fix it up. Idk I think magearna is a fun pokemon and could be a fun stand in for Raza. Similar thing with type null.

I think the first pokemon that ven would end of catching is an alolan vulpix. You cant tell me I'm wrong. Its literally a little white fox guy. It's probably the only pokemon he'll have for a while and probably won't evolve. Maybe he gets a ghost type pokemon later.

I'm starting to realize how much alolan pokemon I've given these guys. But to be fair, alola has fun pokemon and I watched the anime for it a lot after they took xy and xyz off Netflix.

I think the world sisters would probably just be besties with some legendaries/mythical. They probably wouldn't catch them, but momboo just hangs out with shaymin sometimes and ocie is homies with phione and manaphy. Or if we wanna stick with the alolan theme, tapu bulu and tapu fini.

I absolutely have way more thoughts, but this is what I'll say for now since I dont want this to be too long 😅. I want to hear more people thoughts on fable smp pokemon au's tho

this is her teammm: -Shiny furfrou because she deserves a shiny and because of course she'd have the fashion pokemon, also fun fact: chica also has a furfrou with the dandy cut, lmao rivals -Milotic because of course, its literally THE beauty pokemon. But also because I feel like it sort of shows more of her. People assume she's mean and awful and whatever but she took CARE of that feebas and she LOVED her little ugly fish. -Ribombee because their pokedex entry says their pollen puffs are sort of like a treat! they can help with fatigue and with food and stuff and she takes good care of herself, and also just cute! -Out of left field mudsdale I know, but we made her sort of a horse girl! Rich kid who asks for a "pony" and actually gets one lmao, she has one of those huuuge horses as a pet and I think her actual pet getting a pokemon cameo is cute -Pom-Pom Style oricorio!!!! She's a cheerleader!!!!! yay! -Teddiursa,,,,, Freddy also has a teddiursa,,,, hurrahhh cousinsss [epically lore drops on the pokemon post]

( bandwagon ) Pokemon Team

Hypothetically... If your OC was a Pokemon trainer, what would they have?

I broke down Marilyn's character and came up with this team of six!

Oricorio ( pom style ) naturally... she is a cheerleader and it was expected for Oricorio to be the first choice!

Lycanroc ( midday ) a pokemon that evolves during the day to parallel her sunny personality. Espeon was another shoe in but Lycanroc fit her aesthetic much better!

Lopunny a Pokemon that would represent Marilyn's beauty, she also reminds me of a cheerleader

Musharna the dream Pokemon, given her dream state, it made sense to add her to the roster

Solrock ... I don't feel like it needs an explanation, it was either Solrock or Sun Form Castform, honestly they are interchangeable and I can see them being swapped in and out.

Ho-oh ... sticks out like a sore thumb, no? But of course the phoenix pokemon would go to Miss Fenix. It was a toss up between Ho-oh or Moltres, but Ho-oh has a sunlight theme as well, as well as the ability to raise itself (and others) from the ashes! I don't think she'd actually HAVE a Ho-oh... that seems a little OP! No? But I love the idea of her having a spiritual connection to one.

I love the pokemon refresh feature so much... Anyway do you think they have laws or regulations to protect endangered pokemon from getting caught by people and like. How would they even implement that lol

It would be interesting if oricorio was endangered, or more specifically the Baile and Sensu ones

Becuz the Baile one looks rlly similar to actual endangered hawaiian honeycreepers..

The Sensu one has ghost typing and the Moon dex entry says "It summons the dead with its dreamy dancing. From their malice, it draws power with which to curse its enemies." And I cant help thinking about extinct hawaiian birds and the story about the last Kauaʻi ʻōʻō, especially this only 3-minute animated short film about it that everyone should watch right now guys watch it right now (I genuinely teared up watching it) and I think it'd be neat if the Sensu oricorio could summon other extinct birds or something.

But like I know they can sip nectar and everything will be fun and cool and they can switch forms. But like what if they were their own species. And the Pom-pom and Pa'u style are more charming and friendly but the Sensu one has a grudge against people...

Would An Oricorio Be A Good Pet?

As you’d probably expect, that’s a complicated question. Oricorio have a unique ability to change their typing after drinking different colored nectars, which drastically changes their biological abilities and behavior. In general, oricorios would make pretty good pets, so long as you keep a close eye on what kind of nectar they consume.

Oricorios are small and incredibly lightweight compared to many pokémon, and would be a great fit (literally) for most homes. They are incredible charming, and the allure of their elegant dances is well known. Different oricorio styles are more popular and easier to find in some regions than others, but any style of oricorio can become any other style with the right nectar (Scarlet - Baile Style, Violet - Pom-Pom Style).

There is an interesting dissidence between oricorios’ moves and their capabilities described in the pokédex. Move-wise, oricorios aren’t very dangerous at all. Most of their moves make use of their dancing skills and flying prowess to batter enemies, though none of these are too much to worry about. Their most dangerous move is Hurricane, which blasts the target with hurricane-force winds and can cause confusion. When it comes to their pokédex entries, however, we see a different story.

Oricorios’ fire-type Baile Style has the biggest temper, their passion driving them to anger if given an order they don’t agree with (Ultra Moon - Baile Style). This style of oricorio can generate fire with their dancing, enough to “[bathe] opponents in intense flames” (Sun - Baile Style) and “burn them up” (Ultra Sun - Baile Style). Any Pokémon that can generate fire, especially if they have a bad temper, definitely raises eyebrows in our analysis. Pomp-Pom Style oricorios, by contrast, are always chipper and seek to cheer up anyone they see who is feeling down (Ultra Moon - Pom-Pom Style). Pom-Pom style oricorios can still pack a punch by electrocuting enemies with electricity they charge up by dancing. Pa’u Style oricorios are less dangerous, fighting with psychic energy (Sun - Pa’u Style), though they aren’t the most obedient (Ultra Moon - Pa’u Style). Sensu Style oricorios are said to summon the dead and curse enemies with their malice (Moon - Sensu Style), which is… something.

Really, all things considered, oricorios may deserve a lower score. They were really saved by their lack of dangerous moves. The nice thing about oricorios is that you can choose which style you would like to care for. If you’re concerned about fire hazards, avoid Baile Style. If you like your pet to be obedient, avoid Pa’u Style. It’s a pick-your-poison sort of thing. They’re certainly a fascinating pokémon, even if they may be a real challenge for many owners.
