I will never understand people who rage quit Overcooked 2. What are you losing if we fail? It doesn't save your progress or high score or anything. You are playing the chaos game and then annoyed there is chaos? Fools!

Now I know I got haikyuu!! brainrot and I’ll have it for the rest of the month and probably after the movie releases May 31st and lbr for the rest of my life but I didn’t realize how bad it was until a couple days ago.

I was playing Overcooked 2 with my best friend and ruining our friendship, as is customary with all my friendships.

Not to toot our own horns, but we were killing it in that pixelated kitchen (fuck the sushi levels tho, me and my homies hate the sushi levels). We got stuck on a certain level for a good hour before we finally found our footing and got two stars but we were cool with it. We were shooting for at least one so it was a surprise to get two.

Then I joked like “our ✨impeccable✨ teamwork is what got us thru!!” Or something like that. And my immediate next thought was “wow, it’s just like volleyball.”

…it’s just like volleyball?

Overcooked 2: Have we accidentally become world champions of Pizzaburger?

We have been playing level 6-4 in Overcooked 2 (which we have dubbed Pizzaburger) in Survival Mode as an unwinding activity for the past few years. We like this level best because it is just difficult enough that we have to try to not run out of time, and it's got the fun mix of orders that both draw from overlapping sets of ingredients. And constructing burgers in Overcooked is just viscerally pleasant.

In the very beginning, we could survive 7 minutes. Then 15. Then 30. Eventually we got good enough that our average good run would last us 45-50 minutes. After a long time, we finally cracked the hour. We were at 60 for another long time and then one day we busted all the way to our previous record, around 92 minutes. Today, we were having a particularly good run, and we broke our 92-minute record, and we wondered if we could make it to 100 minutes. But we realized after some time that the clock was no longer counting past 99:59 minutes:

Even though you can see that we were still preparing more orders and we could have continued longer. But since it was no longer tracking progress, we decided to take the screenshot and stop.

We have officially beaten Pizzaburger forever as far as the game is concerned. Any further advancement will require a separate chronometer.

We wonder if we have perhaps the world record here. But we were only unwinding. We accidentally became way too good at this.
