A Daily Gift to All
: Independent Scripture Analysis
August 31st : Sunset :  approx. 8: 30pm
88 S 4th St. : Altitude - 109.25 ft.
John 3:27  “ A man can receive only what is given him from Heaven. “
A gift to the Earth’s saints along with it’s sinners. Inclusive to those who forsake him, he continues to love and proclaim as his child. He delivers this perfect gift while patiently awaiting for their day of repentance with knowledge that it may never arrive, thus this is the ultimate sign of forgiveness and true love.
The sunset is the Lord’s daily gift to his children. A purely benevolent reminder which we receive at the commencement of each day. Reminding us that what isn't meant to stay cannot last, but that by God’s grace, The sun does not disappear in an instant, abruptly rendering us lost in its absence or in shock of abandonment. As the remnants of light fades, the earth is kissed by a vast array of soft pigment, serving as an intimate promise of its return. Through this we are not only taught an invaluable lesson but essentially bear witness to the beauty of cessation. This prepares us to find God’s hand within all circumstances, whether it be in prosperity or adversity.
We have all witnessed the dissipation of the day’s light. Moreover, we are often able to describe the appearance of this attraction yet rarely do we ever hear of how it has resonated within us. An infamous occurrence that despite how many times we may encounter, it remains an irreplicable experience. We all fathom a concept of its appearance yet all who witness it are continuously entranced by its beauty, silenced by an overwhelming sense of comfort as if inherently experiencing the genesis of color. We helplessly fall to our feet at its reverie as the universe transports us through its vast array of pigment to a plane of tranquility and awe. A simple and brief moment yet gracefully holds the ability to calm the treacherous oceans within us. In this way, despite the deception and malice we may be exposed to each day walked upon this earth, within this sacred moment, accompanied by the end -we learn to fall in love
with the world once more. This miraculous incident is undeniably an unspoken truth, for this moment leaves all its patrons at a loss for words.
James 1:17 “ Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of Heaven, who never changes or casts a shifting shadow. “
Psalm 136:7  “ To him who made the great lights, For his lovingkindness is everlasting.”
The pure essence of God’s love is beautifully articulated within this brief phenomenon. The sunset bids us a kind farewell, while introducing us to the inevitable darkness bestowed by each day. Similarly, the Lord’s love for his children serves as an alluring resemblance to this. This is evident in how even at the gates of turmoil and tragedy, those who remember the grace of his light are engulfed by the aforementioned state of composure from merely believing that in time, his love will proclaim itself.
Those who find themselves in darkness are comforted by the credence of its impermanence. Let it be known that those who deny the Lord are no different to those who abandon this belief. The common belief that the sun will rise again. For those who live their life accepting that there awaits no light at the commencement of their living condemn themselves to a life plagued with a lack of faith, purpose and direction, bound by the self-imprisonment of spiritual solitude. For without faith in an anticipated release, all actions and moralities are deemed utterly meaningless.
This simple act of trust encompasses the very essence of religion itself, for even though you cannot presently see the Lord, you continue to have faith in his existence and in his return. Both concepts sharing one essential focality, the return of the light. Through that trust alone, delivers an unwavering sense of peace within our hearts, despite the chaos which surrounds us. Differentiating from the sun, the light of the Lord provides an internal luminosity which radiates from within, opposed to a mere external manifestation. This essence of inner peace is unbreakable once attained, for this is what enables God’s children to continue to spread and discover light in a world tainted by plain sighted adversity and affliction.
This circumstance is also applicable in how although the sun may not be visible, the moon continues to provide light to our planet upon each nightfall through the reflective glory of our hidden yet brilliant star. Through this, we see that the light shall always prevail through even the darkest nights. As with the light of our saviour, despite adverse circumstances along with his concealed presence, his love shall never forsake us and variant from the sun, this light is everlasting and provides eternal guidance through darkness and in light.
