Gacha Life 2 Designs Part 2
Characters to my new series Tales of the Demonic in order from left to right: Penny Inkwell, Rune Inkwell, Glitch Mendez, Logan Nightingale, Iris Sussex
Tumblr media
Additional Information
Inkwell (she’s an older cartoon; make of it as you will, too focused on revenge for love, she’s a cartoon but her creator was Irish so yeah?) and Rune (he’s also an older cartoon and never talked about gender, loves all though maybe not the traditional sense, his creator was Irish though he is also a cartoon) are siblings from a former older cartoon called The Inkwell Family. Inkwell grew to be self aware after hearing laughter from the audience whenever she got heard and managed to escape the cartoon universe. Rune was left behind and since the show was over, he was stuck in reruns. They are some of the few creatures to be given life by a human’s imagination rather that reproduction. Both siblings are numquan realis.
For More Info:
Glitch (she/they, favorite cooking tool is a pan, Cuban human mother and demon father)was kidnapped and experimented on when she was younger, with her being able to control technology and the only reason why she survived and escape the experiments is because she’s part demon. She was her mother’s favorite.
Logan (he/him or he/they, either the token straight of his family or bi with an attraction to women, French human mother and demon father) is the youngest sibling of the Nightingale family, with him being born by a human and is trying to give Donovan a physical body once again. He is the “cool” guy who is actually the biggest nerd alive. His voice actor feels like Red Son from Monkie Kid or Robbie from Gravity Falls.
Iris (she/her or she/they, questioning if she’s a lesbian but never dated a girl, is of Irish and English descent on both parents) is a parietal who was killed as a young teenager due to her hyperfixation on eyes and her family line. She was raised to be a hunter by her father and has her mother’s looks, minus the third eye.

“Hello, my name is Penny Inkwell and I have a story to tell you.”
Penny is a talented writer, of course! However, she is also an artist! Penny enjoys coloring and hanging up her drawings to decorate her walls. Penny Inkwell is one of North of North's local news reporters. She runs the local gazette, "Penny's Post", and often reports on local news as well as chronicling many of North of North's important stories.

I recently saw a mini animation on the Internet to the song ЧСВ and I wanted to repeat it but with some other characters.
I don't know if anyone else remembers the comic Cuphead Inkwell Penny Hell by isadoraarkham, but it was the characters of this author that inspired me to create this mini comic.

Big Deep Water News 🪼🪼🪼
As some of you might know, I write not just two sentence prompts, but full length manuscripts as well. Following beta sourced from the followers of this very blog, I’ve been querying the most recent, titled BORDERLINE, intermittently for about a year.
And, as of this week, I’ve officially signed with a literary agent and am now represented by Stephen Barbara at Inkwell Management.
Prompts will continue as I work on some edits (and my regular job) and dream the manuscript gets picked up and published. If you’re interested, here’s a link to the tag on my personal, and the description below the cut!
I’ll definitely be sharing any news that comes up on this topic. It’s pretty wild but here we are. Stay weird, keep writing, and love always,
- Lilia 💫
Lin O’Leary keeps her eyes closed. That’s how you survive in the town of Florida: small, slightly run down, and sitting right on a rip in reality. Known to locals as ‘the borderline’, all anyone knows for sure is that it ate town darling Momo Kasahara six years ago, and is best left alone. Lin, a high school dropout now working at the world’s weirdest corner store, tries not to dwell on the girl she might have loved if she’d had the chance. No real friends or future, she accepts midnight shifts, saves her pennies, and ignores the faceless entity seeking instant oatmeal.
When a grown up Momo appears one night like a ghost in the snack aisle, everything changes. Lin is sure that finding her will cure the strange gloom that’s been hanging over her and her town for so long. Remaining twin Bo Kasahara just wants his family whole again, and touring paranormal vlogger Julien True sees his chance to shoot the pilot episode of his dreams. Together the three of them must learn how to cross the borderline, unraveling the terrible secrets of Florida one by one until their rescue mission is successful. Because Momo is not a ghost at all.
Momo Kasahara is impossible to find and furious about it. Her hometown is an otherworldly shadow, her mind is definitely going, and her only neighbors treat her with eldritch indifference…most of the time. Stuck somewhere just outside of existence, she knows she must save herself soon, before she forgets what it means to be human.

Antiquing with Hermes!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The top photo is an inkwell with Hermes himself as the centerpiece! It was pretty expensive so while I was deciding if I should buy it (spoiler alert: I did!) I ended up finding those two wall plaques in the second photo & took that as a sign to go ahead with the purchase!
The inkwell was a pretty penny so I couldn’t afford much more than that, but I am so excited to get it set up on his altar! <3

“E” or “O”...?
A comment in the “It Was Sugar!” post wondered if "castor" with an "O" was the American spelling for caster sugar, or a typo.
It’s a typo, but one with an interesting history.
*****
“CastOr” is the spelling when referring to castor oil (pressed from castor beans) and, even older, a hat made from felted beaver fur (Castor canadiensis).
Fans of historical fiction might occasionally read that a character “doffed their castor” - meaning, raised or removed their hat in a token of good manners to ladies or respect to superiors.
"CastEr" is the spelling for a container (or its contents) for strewing, sprinkling or throwing, as in "cast aside" or “cast a shadow”.
In homophones (same-sounding words) such as sow / sew, rein / rain, peal / peel, breach / breech etc., just one letter gives the different meaning.
Words like “cast”, however, depend on context - cast a spell, cast a bell, cast a role, arm in a cast, cast in an eye, cast of the show...
English is like that.
*****
Besides sugar casters for sprinkling sugar, there were “sand casters” of wood, ceramic or metal, which contained the powder used to blot ink before or instead of blotting-paper.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This powder might be fine sand or ground sandarac resin (two reasons for “sand caster”) but also ground cuttlefish bone, or ground pumice which was called “pounce” - the French for pumice stone is “pierre ponce” - in which case the container was called a “pounce pot”.
Blotting a letter with sand or pounce may even be the origin of the phrase “done and dusted”, meaning “job all done”, though that might just derive from a room or house completely cleaned, so YMMV.
Its use is often seen in historical films, though they often get the end of the action wrong by showing writers blowing or shaking the powder off onto the floor.
In fact blotting powder was re-usable, and was poured off the paper back into the pot, whose top was often funnel-shaped to make that easier.
Tumblr media
Using sand or pounce continued until fairly recently: here’s a silver writing set - inkstand with matching inkwell and pounce pot / sander - hallmarked 1908.
Tumblr media
Fountain-pens were already in use (mass-produced since 1880) though prone to leakage until that problem was fixed in, surprise,1908, so it’s not surprising that this handsome set relied on dip pens. Also, it was probably on the desk of An Important Person who had to write little more than signatures.
The pounce pot is a curious anachronism; I’ve read one source suggesting pounce and sand continued in use because they was cheap, but penny-pinching doesn’t seem an issue here.
Maybe used blotting-paper was considered unsightly, whether as a sheet or mounted on one of those rocker-blotters still used occasionally when signing treaties.
Tumblr media
Or maybe pounce was considered more secure; if blotting-paper picks up a good reverse impression of the writing, it can be mirror-read; there’s no way to mirror-read anything from powder.
Writer Note; a fantasy story could mention a spell which makes the pounce or sand reassemble itself as the words it blotted, so re-use is done for more than mere economy. Each time pounce is poured back into the pot it gets a thorough shaking, that world’s version of a micro-cut paper shredder or multi-pass disc wipe.
This was originally about spelling variations, so yet again I seem to have wandered a bit off-topic
I do like the silver desk-set, though.

YEP Heres my One piece Oc (Hope she aint mary sue-ish),Captain of the Inkwell Pirates,Inkwell Penny.
Not her real name,Its just her Nom (D)e Plume.
Age: 23Weak looking but dont mess with her and her crew.
Once Called as the "Boy Encyclopedia" due to marines mistaken her as a boy 2 years ago.
She wants to write a book and a manga book thats worthy enough to be read by the pirate king himself. (whoever deserves it.)
She writes manga and novels in secret using her real name, and everyone likes it and wondering whats the author look like and whys the author was so shy to reveal themself.
Her devil Fruit was called Noto-Noto no mi (Note-Note fruit):Will turn someones body into notebook pages full of secrets, information about the person, and basically their past and such.
Can rip the page off or burn it and write such rules on it.
but writing something on herself like "Will copy the powers of ope ope no mi (any powerful powers) in 10 minutes" will drain its fruit user's energy off and will result into 50/50 situation (almost dying for doing it) .
And if they write "Will become immortal/Has eternal life" on someone,Will cost the user's life like ope ope no mi's.

The Inkwell Siblings
Tumblr media
Both Siblings:
They were the main protagonist of the Inkwell Show which ran from 1915 to 1941.
They can see ghost because they have no soul, so technically they are not alive.
They follow cartoon logic both in the cartoon and in real life. For example, rubber arms, that one Scooby-Doo door gag, etc.
They are able to add color to themselves by absorbing liquids thicker than ink. While they are capable of this, if they change clothes, the new outfit would become grayscale unless heavily stained in thick liquid such as bl00d.
They get weak around modern technology and get injured by ink thinner.
Because there are no more episodes, the show is stuck on reruns and the people stuck inside are subconsciously aware something is wrong.
Since the siblings left, whenever they were meant to be on scene, the show creates clones of the siblings that people can’t pinpoint what’s wrong.
None of the creators knew they were conscious.
Penny Inkwell
Species: Cartoon
Age: 16 (in cartoon creation), 103 (from creation year to 2018)
BDay: 10/31, made in 1915
Fun Facts:
Inkwell hates her first name and prefers to go by her last name.
She is obsessed with the color red because it was the first color she ever saw.
She left the cartoon on the 26th anniversary of the show Samara Ring style.
She was created by James Carter to honor his deceased youngest daughter Mary.
She was forced to be the comic relief and realized she was being watched after she kept hearing laughter whenever she got injured.
Once she escaped, Inkwell is hunting down the cast of her show out of revenge for her and her brother’s torture.
Rune Inkwell
Species: Cartoon
Age: 14 (in cartoon creation), 101 (from creation year to 2018)
BDay: 02/17, made in 1915
Fun Facts:
Rune left the screen in 1975, 34 years after his sister left and the world stuck in a constant loop.
His breakthrough realization that something was seriously wrong wasn’t the mysterious laughter nor the unease of his false sister. It was his birthday. He has turned 14, 5 times.
Once he left, Rune wandered through the abandoned, bl00died building and realizes no one knew they were alive and that his sister left decades ago and she was in some way involved with the bl00d on the wall.
