uhh peridot SU for the ask meme? i liked her a lot when i was younger and since you take SU characters thought id try lol
Sexuality Headcanon: While it's not technically canon since it didn't explicitly show up in the show, Maya Petersen (one of the show's storyboard artists) said that Peridot is written as aroace, so the fandom (myself included) generally agrees that she's canonically aroace.
Gender Headcanon: I believe all Gems are canonically nonbinary, so she's defintely enby. Other than that, I'm not sure! I don't think she knows either lol. I think the concept of gender would fascinate her though.
A ship I have with said character: while I've very gradually warmed up a little to Lapis and Peridot as a queer platonic ship, I actually enjoy her dynamic with Amethyst a lot more. Can't decide if I like them more as just friends or more a QP thing though.
A BROTP I have with said character: I already talked about Amethyst and Peridot so I'm going to say Garnet and Peridot! The amount of love and trust between those two is phenomenal. And I know I'm cheating but this is so closely followed by Steven and Peridot I can't NOT mention it.
A NOTP I have with said character: Used to be Peridot and Lapis, but again, I've since calmed down a bit about them. I just. Really didn't like how their relationship started (and how the events of Back to the Barn were just never adequately addressed as something other than a shortcoming of Lapis, I guess??) But now? Maybe....I mean I almost feel like it's cheating to mention a "Steven x Gem" ship in any more-than-friendship way because that just generally makes me uncomfy, so I'll go with...Jasper and Peridot. Though I do think they could be friends now!
A random headcanon: Peridot 100% writes Camp Pining Hearts fanfiction.
General Opinion over said character: I love her so much! I love her personality, I love her arc, I love everything she brought to the story. I really love her voice too.

woe! first art post since a month ago be upon ye! take my gay bugs
[Start ID of the first image. A digital drawing of the five bugs forming Team Taranoake, drawn without anthropomorphized biology, short clips of text describing each one's name, pronouns, species, and size. The background is a solid-color pale orange, with the rest of the drawing being similarly flat-colored and golden-toned. The first shows Kritto, an azure damselfly, who stands on two legs with short stilts to counter the length of xer abdomen. She's light teal with black stripes, holding a brown scroll in one claw, the other pair of arms tucked between her two backpacks behind xer. Next is Lidii, a worker of the ant species Myrmecocystus mexicanus, yellow and orange. She's rambling about something excitedly, just barely propping up the thick wooden weapon beside her. Third is Rantan, an ox beetle, brown with yellow fur. He subjects himself to whatever Lidii's talking about, sitting with all six limbs on the ground and a mildly tired expression, resting their head on one claw. Gorge, a light purple coquina clam, is settled beneath two of Rantan's legs, his shell decorated with small notes and scribbles from work as an archivist. Last is the sea slug Ceras, a single-stalk aeolis, pink with bright stripes of yellow and white along their cerata. She's drawn further away from the rest, his head turned back towards the other four bugs. Like Kritto, they're marked as an honorary member of the team, lacking the seaglass bracelets shared by the three close-knit bugs from the center of the drawing. End ID.]
^ once again, these guys are from a universe I made with @froggoexists :]
[Start ID of the second image. A colored sketch of two humanized original characters, Ceras, a sea slug from the previous image, and Thorn, a Hollow Knight vessel. They're both drawn from the waist up, facing forward, close enough that Ceras's hand wraps around Thorn's shoulder. Ceras is shown as a young Black person, their cerata incorporated as long locs dyed pink, white and yellow, and piercings stud their ears and tongue. Thorn is paler-skinned, taller and thinner than Ceras, with pointed ears, and white hair styled at the top into two rows of spikes. Ceras is wearing a studded denim vest, thoroughly decorated with eclectic pins and patches, mostly of bands, bugs, games, and simple declarations of hope. Thorn wears instead a black leather jacket, with long studs at the shoulders and smaller ones along the sides and center. One sleeve is torn off, as they don't have a right arm, and the other is cuffed to display the adaptive device making up half their left. Ceras is sticking their tongue out and smiling, one eye shut and the other turned to Thorn, stimming with their free hand. Thorn's looking back at them with a smile.
The background is simple, a pink horizontal wave. There's a bright, pale halo behind Ceras' head, one which resembles a spoked wheel or a sun, seeming to cast light upon the two of them. A line at the bottom of the image reads "part-god mute disabled they/she/he bug punk BESTIES", and at the top of the image there's a small doodle of their original forms sitting together contentedly. End ID]

Rediscovered another SU joke that i love:
Lars: (accidentally spills fresh coffee all over Garnet) "Are you okay?! That coffee was REALLY hot"
Garnet: (not reacting to being spilled on) "I drink coffee for breakfast!"
I love Garnet so much. She seems so stoic and mature but she's just as big of a dork as the other Crystal Gems. Two of my favorite moments are her letter back to Jamie (N. O. Period. The end. Forever and even after that.) and when she's on the phone with Connie's mom (The children are playing swords. I mean they're playing with swords. They're bleeding. Oh no, they're dead. Don't call again. *hangs up* I panicked.)

We talk a big storm about Edward meeting Connor and what could have been, but what about the grandparent who was there for him? The Clan Mother was literally the person who called the shots and clashed with Ratohnhaké:ton's mother in the DLC. Haudenosaunee societies were matriarchal, so what did he learn from the Clan Mother, who probably selected their leaders and had to both rebuild the village after it was burned and be there for Ratohnhaké:ton when his mother -- her daughter -- died?
There was just as much family dynamic to be explored through his maternal side as there was with his paternal. I love how much story was put into Assassin's Creed III through its shifting perspectives -- first Haytham, briefly Ziio, and then Ratohnhaké:ton throughout different phases of his life -- but I felt that a lot of pivotal points were neglected screentime.
Maybe Ube Softee could have explored his life further, but as we all know, Connor gets a significant amount of hate coming hot off the heels of Ezio, and his stories have been scrapped.

Mentioned this on twitter but I really love TV static/Lost reception/connection type characters!
Like they're just so damn intriguing and are usually really menacing/unnerving, GRRRAAAAAHHH so cool!!!!
So the fact Debunky's Entity in the latest [REDACTED] SMP video is a TV static character just sends this entity to the top of the list of my favourite Redacted Entities, I'm also obsessed with shapshifting characters hence why my sona is a shapeshifter and the TV Entity glitching into different Redacted Subjects is just so fuckin' good you have no idea how just bubbly I was seeing that happen AAAAAAAA !! 💥
But yeah the example I compared the TV Entity to was Dream Peridot from Steven Universe Future which isn't a real chatacter (like she's just a figment of Steven's subconscious) and barely as menacing as the Entity but the blank/vacant face of Dream Peridot paired with the channel error colour screen glasses just fills me with dread whenever I watch the full episode is so powerful and hits a spot in my brain hehehe
But I think a good inbetween of these 2 characters is Spamton (yes he's a static related character because whenever he's having his more serious moments it's often conveyed through his sprite having static flowing behind his glasses) because he can be dead serious one minute and incredibly menacing at other times with random outbursts but has a more comedic centre to his character, he's just such a complex but stupidly funny guy it's great, Toby Fox is a brilliant character designer.
I honestly can't wait for Chapter 3+ of Deltarune with the TV character that was teased at the end of Chapter 2 and I can't wait to see what's in store with the TV Entity on [REDACTED] SMP!
If you made it through my little ramble then I hope you enjoyed it and have a wonderful day 💜💛
