Dejenme contarles una historia.

Érase una vez, una pareja que decidió un día irse a vivir juntos.

Luego se dieron cuenta que vivían en la ciudad más cara de su país.

Sí, gente. Mi perra ciudad es muy cara, y el alquiler sube por año.

Cállate, chch. No solo el alquiler sube, sino tambien la vida. ¿Ya vieron a cuanto esta el limon? Hubo una época en la que me daban cuatro limones por un dolar. CUATRO. ¡Cuando era pequeña me daban 20 por un dolar!

Eso, además del hecho que tengo muy malos vecinos (No hablemos de las veces que me han dicho cosas feas solo por pasear a Diva) y que mi arrendador es como la figura paterna de todo latinoamericano: TOTALMENTE DESPREOCUPADO.

Digo, para nada nos queria dejar una semana entera sin luz cuando se quemó el medidor de corriente de todo el edificio.

Ah, y ¿les he mostrado mi sala? NO TENGO UN SOLO MUEBLE. ¿Por que, Luca, si ya llevan dos años viviendo solos? Porque vivimos en un tercer piso. Y el pasillo es muy pequeño. Mi refri es diminuta y a penas logramos subirla.

No me malinterpreten. Amo este departamento. Le he cogido mucho cariño, pero uno solo puede hacerse el ciego antes ciertas cosas solo por poco tiempo.

¿Que hicimos?

¡Compramos una casa!

Si, amigos, el meme se hizo realidad. Bueno, no está comprada aun, pero estamos en esas. Han surgido un monton de problemas, pero no quiero aburrirlos con eso.

Bueno, si quiero. Al carajo, ahi les va mis tips para comprar su primera casa y que no les pase lo mismo que a mi.

Primer paso: encontrar la casa. Ya se los he dicho en Webtoon, pero yo vivo en Ecuador, hogar del encebollado, las vacunas y las bombas a locales. Pintoresco, ¿no?. La seguridad ante todo: busquen en una zona segura o en una zona que controlen. ¿Quien es ese que esta tirando bala a las tres de la mañana con un porro en la mano? ¡Ah, si, es mi pana el Jony! Él me lava el carro una vez a la semana y le pago el almuerzo. ¡Un tipazo! No aplica a mi porque yo no se de balas, porros o Jonies, pero mi pareja sí. De todas formas, buscamos una casa cerca de donde vive mi madre, que es una zona segura y que conozco como la palma de mi mano. ¡Primer paso, listo!

Segundo paso: Negocien. O no. La verdad yo siempre he sido mala para eso, asi que yo acepte el precio que me propusieron. Pero si son de ese porcentaje de la poblacion que sabe negociar, ¡Este es el momento!

Tercer paso: Verifiquen POR FAVOR que la casa este en buenas condiciones. Fisicas y legales. Por favor. No caigan como yo, que si bien la casa estaba legal, le faltaba un documento que estaban sacando en ese momento ¡Y ahora tenemos la vida patas arriba por ese documento!

Cuarto paso: tengan el dinero. O no. Siempre pueden pedir ayuda a un banco.

Quinto paso: Tengan un amigo abogado. Yo tengo uno. Nos odiamos, pero tambien nos ayudamos. Una relacion simbiotica. Él me verifico que los documentos de compra esten correctos antes de firmar.

De ahi en más, es el resto fluye, asi...

Espere, ¿De que les estaba hablando?

Ni idea. El punto, no hubo Pinkwood porque estaba con la regla y porque el banco nos rechazó el hipotecario y tuviemos que tirar abajo media casa para que nos lo aprobaran.

¿Que cosas no?

Igual, la compra sigue en pie. Esperemos que fluya como la vida misma.

I know it's cute sharing all those gifs of Dean Weirdo Winchester asking his little brother to be his Valentine but as the eminent Wincest scholar Pinkwood astutely observed in her epic analysis, both of those instances came at times when Dean was feeling insecure in their relationship which 1) makes it kind of sad and 2) makes it more than just a joke. Asking Sam to be his Valentine is Dean Winchester Speak for "you still love me right?"

There! Finalized my model sheet for my HPMA girl, Anastasia Read! You can read more about her here at this moodboard post I did for her, but basically she’s a Gryffindor who dreams more than she talks and is determined to be the heroine of her own fantasy story.

Some more info about Ana under the cut...

Ana doesn’t resemble her biological parents, John Read and Bonnie Pinkstone-Read, much at all except in hair color (both are also brunettes). Her soft, endomorph frame, strong shoulders, and bluish gray eyes come from her maternal grandfather. As an adult Ana’s even taller than her mother Bonnie, who’s very petite all the way around.

Poor Ana is actually quite self-conscious about her weight, thanks in no small part to the, um...attempts at support from her mother Bonnie, who frequently expresses “concern” about Ana’s health because of her size. At school she wears a highwaisted skirt to hide her tummy, as if she wore a skirt like all of the other girls’, she’d look like -- in her mother’s words -- “a sack of potatoes tied in two.” It’s also the reason she always wears pants, tights or leggings -- she thinks her legs are very chubby and unattractive. Despite her roundness, however, Ana’s also always had very strong shoulders and is on the taller side compared to her other female classmates, which helps her put off a tougher image.

Bonnie Read’s biggest foible as a mother is her immaturity. She wants to be Ana’s “friend” more than a mentor most of the time, and so has difficulty enforcing discipline or even in setting a good example. Bonnie almost immediately dated three other men after divorcing John, all of whom either pointedly ignored or expressed open resentment toward her daughter Ana, before she finally met, dated, and married her second husband. Bonnie’s dependent personality and (as mentioned) subconscious weightism doesn’t help matters either.

Ana’s father John Read is an active-duty soldier. He’s actually an incredibly absent father who never really had much interest in having a family, but Ana’s always put him on a bit of pedestal, partly because of her image of him having become a soldier for noble reasons like serving his country and partly because him not being there to actively be a poor parent like her mother Bonnie made it easier for Ana to romanticize John in her mind. Ana writes to John very frequently. John doesn’t write back much at all.

Ana’s best mentor figure is her stepfather, Bradley Pinkstone (a wizard and Gryffindor alumnus himself). He and his two grown sons Jasper and Preston (a Slytherin and Gryffindor in their day) are very affectionate toward Ana, which kind of weirded her out at first, considering she’s not their blood relative and she’d assumed they’d hate her...but oh, was she ever so glad to be wrong! The new Pinkstone-Read family live in a rather pretty brick house in Stratford-Upon-Avon.

Her best and favorite class is History of Magic, but she tends to enjoy all classes where she can write essays. She’s always been miles ahead of her classmates when it comes to writing, especially considering that there are no specific writing or grammar classes taught at Hogwarts. Just about every written assignment Ana’s ever submitted has gotten an O.

Contrariwise, she struggles in classes that are more “physical” like Care of Magical Creatures or Flying.

Despite not getting into Flying class or Quidditch, though, Ana does take time to practice flying on her own at night when no one else is around. She finds moonlit broom rides incredibly romantic and great inspiration whenever she’s suffering from writer’s block.

Ana’s an avid journal keeper! She goes through a good five of them every year. She generally magically shrinks her finished creativity journals for easier storage, and she always hexes whichever one she’s currently writing in order to make sure no one else can open it. (If you’re somehow lucky enough to get her permission, she’ll open her creativity journal for you so you can read it and look at the doodles she did.)

Her favorite authors are Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, Hans Christian Andersen, and William Shakespeare. Her favorite type of movies are high fantasy like The Princess Bride, Stardust, and The Lord of the Rings.

Ana’s also huge into Japanese manga! Her one true love is Sailor Moon, but she’s very fond of shoujo manga titles like Cardcaptor Sakura, Ouran High School Host Club, and Fruits Basket.

Ana’s favorite musical genre is symphonic metal, introduced to her by her oldest stepbrother Jasper. Her favorite bands are Within Temptation, Evanescence, and Nightwish.

As a teenager, Ana falls in love with the Victorian Gothic and steampunk subcultures, the first of which Jasper dabbles in and the second of which Preston is hard-core into. Being an INFP, she loves the creativity, historical bent, and romanticism in both movements. At the Pinkwood-Read family’s formal Christmas parties, you’ll often see all three of them wearing top hats with their holiday ensembles.

Ana does NOT make friends easily, but once you do become her friend, she’s always got your back. Her BFF is Hufflepuff Robin Isherwood @cursebreakerfarrier​. She also gets along pretty well with Gryffindor housemate Lorcan O’Donnell @unfortunate-arrow​, Slytherin Jordi Prewett @cursebreakerelmswood​, Ravenclaw Noa March @that-ravenpuff-witch​ and Hufflepuffs Mitch C. Hodge @department-shoe-stud​ and HG Gray @ljthebard1​. They all either call Anastasia “Ana” or “Annie” -- her stepfather and brothers call her “Anya.” 

Upon finding out how much her BFF Robin likes flowers and plants, Ana went out of her way to collect some books on the Victorian language of flowers. (Her brother Jasper gave her a hand with finding some good ones.) One Valentine’s Day she even sent Robin a friendship bouquet of irises, goldenrod, oak-leaved geraniums, and southernwood without any sort of note -- not that it was necessary, given that flowers’ message translated to “Just wanted to let you know you’ll always be my best friend.” (Everyone else assumed Robin had this mysterious secret admirer.)

If anyone rubs Ana the wrong way, they can expect a formal dueling challenge. Ana is witty on the page, but not verbally, and she’s upfront and honorable enough when she’s angry to want to “take it outside” and settle the dispute on the dueling field the way a knight would avenge a slight to their king’s honor, rather than be backhanded or sneaky about it.

Ana may be cisgender and identify as straight, but she is the ULTIMATE LGBT+ ally. Even when she was a kid, she would get very hot under the collar about homophobia, racism, or any other sort of prejudice, thanks to her Gryffindor sense of honor and her INFP sensitivity, and after Bonnie married Bradley and Ana met Jasper (who’s transgender FtM himself), Ana became all the more passionate about LGBT+ rights. She only becomes more vocal in her support after some of her friends come out of the closet too.

Ana’s greatest fear is being insignificant. This is depicted in boggart form as the whole room around her suddenly becoming huge, to the point where she’s as tiny and helpless as a mouse.

Ana’s Patronus is a black swan. If she ever became an Animagus, she’d be a large brown and gray tabby cat with oddly colored bluish gray eyes.

I could see Ana one day becoming a well-regarded author of fiction books for young magical children.

Hola, persona anonima! ¿Cómo has estado?

Hoy estaba subiendo un capitulo de mi comic:

Y añadí un detalle que en un principio no me di cuenta de lo curioso que es, verán...

Durante el capítulo (Que si no lo has leído, haceme el favor y vas y vienes) Rick sueña que está escuchando a Camille y, de la nada y sin contexto aparente, va y lo besa. Luego se despierta alterado y confundido ¿Por qué había soñado eso?

Esa escena la escribí sin pensarlo casi, pero ahora que lo subo pienso que quizá pueda confundirte al leerlo porque de verdad no tiene sentido que sueñe algo así, pero para mí.

Sucede esto, Anonimo: Rick asimila el enamoramiento como yo. Y esto es especial porque a mi me cuesta procesar los sentimientos. Necesito tiempo para analizarlos y saber como me estoy sintiendo de verdad (El journaling me ha ayudado con eso!), y eso obviamente afecta tambien a como me enamoro. Y es que me cuesta mucho saber si estoy enamorada de alguien o no. ¿Alguna vez conociste a una adolescente que no haya tenido crushes? Pues esa era yo. Era totalmente asexual/aromantica en el colegio, pero en la universidad noté un patrón y es que necesitaba que esa persona X me aparezca en un sueño de alguna forma para entender que me gustaba. Y ya de ahí todo se volvía caótico, porque era como pasar de que sentirme meh hacia una persona a no poder pensar en otra cosa que no sea esa persona. Enamorarse es feo.

Quisiera representar esa confusión en Rick de la forma que me habría gustado sentirlo en mi adolescencia, pero tengo miedo que se vea muy confuso.

Feng Butterfly

Big-pink-cream butterfly ➥ C. Hawes

A large butterfly, often with wingspan up to 11 inches. The body itself is small, and the wings are rounded and flexible. The coloration is a dull, saturated, peachy color. The underside is a darker tan color, with speckles of cream and white. They feed solely on the flowers of the Gregory Nut Tree.

Orange Monarch

Big-orange monarch ➥ D. P. Hawes

A large, orange and black butterfly similar to the Monarch Butterfly. It lives for about two years, in which the first year is spent as a caterpillar, mostly white and black, and the second is spent eating in the summer, breeding in the fall, and laying their eggs in the winter. The occasional white or royal blue morph is not uncommon. 

Limens Butterfly

Soft-pink butterfly ➥ L. Hawes

Named as such for its love for the Limens flower, both as a caterpillar and adult. The Limens butterfly will feed on other plants, but has a particular affinity for the light blue flower. These insects are soft, like tissue paper, and are not very durable. They have a sharp blue color, likely from the flower itself. They have a much shorter lifespan than the other butterflies on the table, but reproduce very quickly. Occasionally, red variants appear, but they are uncommon.

Hay Eye Moth

Fuzzy-Chest Moth ➥  H. Othies

A moth with rounded wings and lots of fuzz, the Hay Eye Moth lives for about six weeks. It has two compound, yellow eyes. It drinks the nectar of the plants on the eastern side of the table, and is a staple in the diet of many animals on the purple island. Oddly enough, Hay Eyes have also been found on the Table’s sister island, Achellias. Its segmented body, if split at the joints, can form a new moth, though this moth will always be female. The eggs are speckled white and black, and hatch in about 48 hours. Docile, the Hay Eye is seen as a sign of good luck.

Yole Moth

Orange-Fuzzy Moth ➥  Y. Naell

A triangular, pastel-orange moth, with dull, red eyes. One pair of antenna is longer, used for smelling and identification. The other is smaller and reduced, used for feeling and holding the moth’s head up. These moths are similar in behavior to flies, and eat rotten plant material. 

Hawes Moth

Grey-Soft Moth ➥  Y. N. Hawes

A subspecies of the Yole Moth, but in recent times, twice as widespread. Exceptionally hairy and small, the Hawes Moth blends in easily with its environment in the southern part of the Table.

   ➥      Insects without images.

Hawe Mantis ; Indistinguishable from the European Praying Mantis.

Fruitbee ➥ F. Boeius ; A small species of bee, similar in size to sweat bees, that feed on fruits and vegetables. The sting is akin to that of a fire ant, but are uncommon. Hives are underground, and produce a honey-like substance called Yew. Tastes like maple syrup.

Red blood beetles ➥ L. Locios ; Small, iridescent, red, and omnivorous, these beetles are considered a sign of death. They fly in swarms of millions in the winter, and are insatiably hungry. They can clean a large carcass of meat within the span of an hour and a half, and are especially fond of fatty meats. They are aggressive in times of famine and drought. For the most part, though, colonies survive on fruits. They are not eaten by most things, and spread diseases rather quickly. They are, however, an avid pollinator. 

Pinkwoods ➥ P. Pierie ; Small pink, parasitic worms who bore into trees. They eat the tree from the bark to the center. They leave the tree a characteristic pink color.
