The second type is self-plagiarism, which is when you reuse your own work without giving credit. The third type is mosaic plagiarism, which is when you use someone else's ideas but don't give them credit.
Why Copyright Checker
Copyright checker tools help you detect if someone has copied your content without giving credit. There are a few different ways that these tools work, but they all essentially compare your content to other content on the internet to see if there are any matches. Some of these tools also allow you to check for plagiarism in other languages, which can be helpful if you are writing in a language that is not English.
How does a plagiarism checker work
A plagiarism checker works by scanning a document for text that matches other online content. This is done by comparing the document to billions of web pages, as well as other documents that have been uploaded to the plagiarism checker. If there are any matches, the plagiarism checker will highlight them so you can see where the copied text is. You should not only be concerned with what’s highlighted though because it also shows instances of close paraphrasing and rephrasing.
Why You should using Plagiarism checker
Plagiarism is a serious offense that can result in penalties such as a loss of points, a failing grade, or even expulsion from school. If you're caught plagiarizing, you could also be sued for copyright infringement. That's why it's so important to use a plagiarism checker before you publish any content on your blog. There are Causes: 1. As a blogger, you want to make sure that your content is original and not copied from another source.  2. A plagiarism checker can help you identify any potential instances of plagiarism in your work.  3. This can save you from potential legal issues down the road.  4. Additionally, using a plagiarism checker can help you improve your writing by ensuring that all of your content is original. Free Plagiarism Checkers
From students to teachers, writers, publishers, bloggers and so on, there’s plenty of plagiarism detection tools available for everyone to try. Most of them are paid, but they do allow you to try out their basic versions for free, which is limited, without any hassles. Some are also better used for academics, but they can also work for other types of writings; be it fanfiction, blogs’ content, articles, essays, and websites.
Hopefully, you’ll find one of these plagiarism checker to be useful in making sure your work is unique and/or hasn’t been stolen by someone else. You may even need to use more than one, because no single tool can provide accurate data when it comes to checking for plagiarism. Just be sure to look over their privacy policy because some plagiarism tools stored your text in its repository or steal your data and sell it to third parties.
1text.com – is a free online plagiarism checker that shows you an exact percentage of how unique your text is. If you use it as a guest, you can only check a limited number of words. The search might take slightly longer than other platforms as 1text prioritizes people who have signed up. But if you sign up and confirm the e-mail, you will get the free package of 15,000 symbols (words) to check for plagiarism without limits.
Copyleaks - is a comprehensive plagiarism detector platform that performs extensive searches across the Internet and various databases. However, you’ll need to create an account to use it. When you do it will allow you to check 2,500 words (that’s 5 pages single spaced or 10 pages double spaced) each month for free, but you will need to go for one of their packages if you want more. You can check up to 300,000 words (600 pages single-spaced or 1,200 pages double-spaced) without a day limit for $9.99 per month, $20.99 per month to check up to 750,000 words or $34.99 per month to check 1,500,000 words and so on.
Copyscape – is a free plagiarism checker that you can use to find if anyone has plagiarized your work online. How it works is that it uses Google as the search provider and you input a URL of your published work. The free version only allows the first 10 results to be shown. You’ll see more results and have access to more features with a Premium account, which is 3¢ per search (up to 200 words) plus 1¢ per extra 100 words.
DupliChecker – is a free and accurate online tool to check plagiarism. It offers 1,000 words limit per search for free, however, if you want to check more than that, then you have to get a paid account which costs $10/monthly for the very basic plan. You can copy & paste a section of your writing, upload the file or via webpage URL to check for plagiarism. They also offer other plans with more options, such as an increase in your words limit, searches, more formats options and other features.
Grammarly – is typically used for English learning and writing, but it also has a free online plagiarism checker. Simply copy a passage or upload a file to check your work against the 16+ billion academic papers and web pages stored in the ProQuest’s database. It will tell if there’s plagiarism in your text without giving you any details of where it is, how much of it there is, or what the sources are. To have full access to the report with details of plagiarism, grammar, and writing issues you need to subscribe to a premium plan of $29.95/monthly.
PlagScan – is a paid plagiarism checker, mostly used by academic institutions. It does offer a free trial and with it, you can check a limited number of words (which is 2,000 words) without paying or giving up your credit card info. Once they’re used up, you’ll have to pay if you want to keep using it. Such as 6,000 words (24 pages) is $5.99, 17,500 words (70 pages) is $12.99, 40,000 words (160 pages) is $24.99, etc. It compares submissions with web documents, journals and internal archives.
PlagiarismCheckerX – is not a website but a product. It is free to download, but it has some limitations. However, if you buy the professional edition for $39.95 that means you only have to pay it once. You’ll get a lifetime package license that allows you to keep on your computer and use it forever. It searches through Google, Yahoo, and even scholarly articles from the database and gives you a similarity report.
Plagiarisma – is a free online plagiarism checker that you can only use three times a day (plus it also checks your grammar for free), and without an account you're limited to 2,000 words or less. You can run a plagiarism check using either Google or Bing. But you’ll only have access to the Bing search engine, unless you become a registered user. Either way, you’re given URLs to the matching content.
Plagiarismdetector – is a free checker software that can be used to check for plagiarism in documents and URL links. It offers only a limit of 1,000 words, but you can use it as many times as you want for free. By paying, you can raise this limit. Such as 30,000 words per document will be $10.00 per month, 72,000 words will be $20.00 per month, 114,000 words will be $30.00 per month and so on. This also supports 12 languages, including English, Malay, Arabic, Indonesian and more.
Quetext – has both a free and a paid plan, depending on what your needs are. The free plan comes with plagiarism checks on 1 page (500 words), color-grading text feedback, contextual analysis, fuzzy matching, and conditional scoring. You also can’t upload existing files to be checked; it’s exclusively copying and pasting. But for just $14.99 a month, you get so much more: 200 pages (100,000 words) that can go through the plagiarism checker, more in depth search, citation assistant, a downloadable originality report, custom URL exclusion, interactive snippet text, and premium support.
Scribbr – is a plagiarism checker, developed in partnership with Turnitin, which is a leader in plagiarism prevention. The free version checks if your paper contains potential plagiarism. But to view the full report, you need to buy the premium version, which costs between $19.95 (for small documents: up to 7,499 words) and $39.95 (large documents: 50,000+ words) depending on the word count. There’s no word limit, so you can upload as big a document as you want.
Search Engine Reports – is a free plagiarism detector that allows you to scan up to 1,500 words at a time from your computer or the cloud or you can directly paste the URL of a webpage. It supports various file types such as doc, Docx, pdf, txt, etc. It will give you the results with percentages of what is plagiarized or original.
Search Engines – such as Google, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, etc. are search engines that look through and organizes all the data on the internet to give you the most relevant and useful information for your query. You can also use them to search for an exact phrase by using quotations (“). This can help you find quotes, song lyrics, or identify the titles of specific journal and magazine articles. It’s especially useful to see where else the exact phrases pops up too. Some people do this to double check when their plagiarism checker marks a sentence or paragraph for being too similar to something else and it doesn’t specify. Though, some checkers already do this for you, but you’ll need to paid to access that feature and this can be a work-around for it. Note: In the Google search, if you click on the ‘Tools’ button under the search box. You should see options for ‘Any Time’ and ‘All Results’. Click on the last one, which will give you the option to change it to ‘Verbatim’. This should now only show results which contain exactly what you typed and not variations of it.
SmallSEOTools’ Plagiarism Checker – is a free online plagiarism checker. You can paste your text into the search bar or even upload a document to be checked. Then, tick the Captcha to prove you’re human, and click check for plagiarism. The users aren’t asked to pay a single penny to use this plagiarism detector. No matter how many pieces of text you need to check for plagiarism, you can use it as many times as you want without facing any restriction or paying any charges. That’s because there’s ads, which is how the owner is able to keep this tool free for everyone.
Unicheck – is a plagiarism checker that offers users a very small word limit of 200 words for free without signing up. It compares your work against over 91 billion web sources and open access databases. You get a report with clickable sources and highlighted text matches. However, pricing for personal and business use is charged per page (includes 275 words, double-spaced). For example: 20 pages will cost $5.00 and it scales up depending on how many pages you’d like to check, such as $10 for 50 pages, $15 for 100 pages, etc.
