I'm so fucking tired of every book on William Morris or Arts & Crafts Movement in general being like: "William Morris said he's a socialist and yet he ran his design business successfully! Curious! Wasn't it kinda hypocritical to criticise society but also live in society?? Hmm! A lot to think about!"

And they are always soo smug about it. Like he didn't realize that everyone has to still participate in capitalism to survive? Like if you read the things he actually said and wrote he didn't talk about how frustrated he was about the material reality of capitalism, which he had to live in? And like that being a major reason why he in the first place was anti-capitalist????

this isn't one of those. writing my thesis is so hard. i wish my research was the death note to my light kagami. it's more like the boulder to my sisyphus instead.

afterhours library ft. still obnoxious 5am scandinavian summer lighting. ▫️djungelskog is back in stock and tbf when up close I got the hype. just attracted to his confidence I guess. ▫️new research position starts thursday 😁▫️lastly, i took all your votes into account and decided to go with landscape iconography (like canola flowers, etc) as national identity formation because then I'll get to do painting sessions and also not be solemn writing 100+ pages.

Got some critique by my supervisor on some pages I sent her and I had such a full-body nervous break about it that Ive had to sit down with a cup of tea and watch some comedy show just to convince my nervous-system that Im not being led to my own public execution by firing squad

Yesterday's little program. I was trying to catch up on readings for my thesis while also catching my breath a little.

For fun I'm currently reading Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin.

any advice for how to push through and start thesis writing when it feels like too much is going on and your head has gone into ultimate denial that the thesis even exists?? I haven’t left the house in 3 days and I have a thesis to write 😭

i briefly mention duolingo in my thesis as an example of a language learning app and couldn't help but add that it's facing criticism for replacing human workers with AI. i just can't contain myself from spreading my woke agenda 😞
