Plant Apocalypse
Tumblr media
Summary: He thinks you got enough. You disagree.
Pairing: Lloyd Hansen x Reader
Warnings: pet names, fluff, crack
A/N: Please consider I mostly don’t write canon for Lloyd.
Tumblr media
“Cupcake, what’s this again?" Lloyd asks as he points to the new plant you placed on his desk. “Y/N, I told you not to put plants on my desk. I got sensitive technology in here.”
“Your office looked depressing,” you quip. “I made it cozy and pleasant. The plant will stay.”
He groans deeply. Lloyd knows fighting with you over plants is a lost cause.
“Fine, it can stay. But I won't take care of it."
Lloyd eyes the plant suspiciously.
“It’s a plant, not a thing,” you insist. "That's devil's ivy, a very masculine plant. I was thinking of you when I bought it.”
He grins as you expectantly look at him. You put your hands on your hips, waiting for Lloyd to tell you what he thinks about the plant.
"The plant is lovely,” he says. “Thank you cupcake. It looks very manly.”
“I got more! Come with me. I found all these nice plants and I couldn’t leave them in the flower shop. They would’ve died.”
“You bought more plants?” He furrows his brows. “Muffin, you have enough plants. Last time I checked you had thirty plants.”
“But,” you pucker your lips, and batt your eyelashes, “I don’t have these flowers, Lloyd. You must have a look at them. Let’s start in the bathroom.”
You grab his hand to guide Lloyd out of his office and toward the bathroom. “Please tell me that I will be able to use the toilet.”
“Silly man,” you giggle. “I didn’t put a plant in the toilet. Just come with me. You’ll love it.”
Lloyd follows you into the bathroom. He gasps as he looks around in the baho-inspired bathroom. You placed green potted plants and candles on the wooden floor, framing the freestanding bathtub in the left corner of the room.
“More plants. We will have to fight our way through all the plants to get inside the tub, muffin.”
He shakes his head. How can he tell you that he hates plants?
“Uh-the orchid is nice, and I like the bamboo on the sill.”
You sigh happily, "I knew you would love them. We should go to the living room next, baby. I got you another masculine plant. It stands next to the new orchid I got. They look great together.”
“I guess,” he chuckles. Lloyd doesn’t have the heart to tell you that he couldn’t care less about plants. But he cares about you. “How many plants did you buy this time?”
“Not many,” you lie poorly.
“How many did you buy, muffin?"
“Five…maybe ten.”
“Sheesh, you are out of control.”
Lloyd dips his head to look you in the eyes.
“Only a little.”
In a soft kiss, he cups your face and presses firmly against your lips.
“Show me that manly plant. I need to know if he's prettier than me.”

super funny how they gave erik a family to lowkey dodge cherik allegations (imo) just to kill that family and have the end of apocalypse drive home the point that erik will always find family in charles, no matter how little he thinks he has left or how much he errs. like ok man we get it they're in love and will have each other no matter what happens

A friend and I were watching Little Shop of Horrors on a website frequented by sailors under a black flag but anyway we were nearing the end of the movie and Audrey was dying and I was like huh I thought she survived and my friend was also very confused like "hey this isn't how the scene is supposed to go" but I remembered reading about a second, apocalypse ending of the movie that was different from the theatrical release, which somehow we had stumbled upon by pure accident
So we both watched on in increasing distress and disbelief as Audrey II proceeded to eat Audrey, then Seymour, then be sold as a million tiny Aubrey II's that proceeded to have extended monster-movie montages of taking over various cities and landmarks and fighting the military
And at least I had some sort of knowledge this was a thing that existed but my friend just stumbled into watching the existential horror version of a beloved childhood favorite.

Another comic assignment from class, this one was to make a silent comic out of one of Russell Edson’s comics, I took some creative liberties. Thought this would be a fun valentine’s day post

Hi! This is @agitowarrioroftheforest ‘s sideblog for Origin: Spirits of the Past, which is my special interest and I have a lot of love for. 🌱
I have an art blog here where I have a lot of fanart for this movie @agitoforestart
Origin: Spirits of the Past, also called Giniro no Kami no Agito (Silver Haired Agito) is a post apocalyptic sci fi fantasy anime film made by Studio Gonzo in 2006. Character designs are by Kouji Ogata. Said apocalypse was caused by plant experiments on the moon's surface that went horribly wrong, gained sapience and descended to earth.
300 years after that event, the Forest is a powerful entity that holds most of the power on the planet. Agito lives In a relatively peaceful town called Neutral City built from ruins of the past world and one day accidentally wakes Toola from her underground cryostasis pod. She is from that world of 300 years past and sees how the world has vastly changed and is forced to grapple with that. Crucially: there was one other awakened from the past 5 years before, and his name is Shunack, a current member of the Ragna army, who lived in Neutral City formerly, he claims he can help Toola restore the world.
There are sapient tree people/dragons, plant superpowers that double as plant body horror, a communal town built out of ruins, a short bulletproof twink in a crop top fighting advanced military war machines, stunning animation and music (op and ed are by KOKIA) and really subtle and interesting world building. I would call a lot of the concepts and the message in this Solarpunk in all honesty.
It’s post apocalypse with a focus on hope for the future and letting go of the idealized past. Oh and a lot about embracing the non-normative body
I have a lot of trans and otherwise queer headcanons of the characters, especially Agito as a trans guy. You’ll see that often on this blog (there is arguably trans coding in Agito’s enhanced transformation. Enough that I wrote an essay on it)

To anyone who needs to hear it because they don’t believe it’s possible:
I would read the story of your life, as you are now and as you have been.
I may not read it perfectly, or fast, and I might read lots of other things at the same time. I might not even like the writing in it, or the events that take place in it (especially if they are sad), but I would pick it up and I would read it.
Your stories deserve attention too. It is good to share them, in whatever pieces you can manage.

Inside Neshaminy Mall. Like I said in my last post, it looks like a little less than half of this mall is about to get demolished. Sears and the hallway leading to it are getting the axe. That 2nd story section seen in the one photo was originally a restaurant overlooking the mall, part of the Strawbridge & Clothier department store that layer became Macy's.
