Okay, these are my current 𝐖𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐏𝐋𝐎𝐓𝐒. They're largely vague concepts that can be further explored or tweaked. If you're interested please feel free to send me a message & we can figure out the details together.

PLOT 1 ; Muse A moves to a new town that is surrounded by ocean. Their purpose upon moving is to inherit a really old house passed down in their family. Muse A is a distant and only surviving relative of the family that had lived there so they’re largely untouched by the rumors and politics that happen around town. That being said, mysterious and spooky things are happening – bodies washed up on the shoreside and the town folks acting suspiciously dodgy about it. Muse A meets Muse B, a longtime resident of the town who had grown up in the area. Muse B doesn’t disclose what’s going on but it’s obvious that they know.

[ * Includes: elements of horror, mystery, a dark fairytale, & potentially romance if the writer feel so inclined. Triggers: to be determined, I have a vague idea of the ‘mystery’ happening but don’t wanna spoil it for the second writer . I have a preference for Muse B & open to m/f/nb. ]

PLOT 2 ; Set in a dystopian/futuristic setting, there are select members of society tossed into an elaborate game of survival for the amusement of everyone watching. Think Hunger Games meets Jigsaw meets Alice In Borderlands. It’s a game where anything is allowed so long as it follows the simple rules: that only a percentage of many people put into the game will survive and they must participate in the various games, those who refuse die automatically. These games contribute to their success and fame outside the game, the most popular winners having influential places in society. Most people are randomly drawn to be put into the games but there are some who do so for fame, wealth, power or just status since the world is notoriously poor and difficult to get by in. I imagine the setting Cyberpunky.

[ * Includes: strategic, physical and emotional games. Triggers: Gore, violence, and death. Can include multiple muse(s). Can be romantic or platonic or even adversarial. ]

PLOT 3 ; Muse A is drowning in life. Despite a successful career they find themselves lacking meaning and purpose outside of their career. However, there has been something they’ve been curious about for a long time. They find an advertisement for comfort companions of all sorts. However, one in particular catches their eyes. Muse B enters the picture as the paid domestic dom to help settle Muse A amidst their stressful and high stake life. Muse B helps bring a semblance of peace and stability to their life, taking the control they no longer want and redirecting that energy into something productive.

[ * Includes: A paid domestic Dom. I do not write smut anymore so this plot is solely based on the premise of non-sexual acts of dominance. It can be romantic but doesn’t need to be. I imagine Muse B is asexual. I also imagine this in a relatively futuristic setting. Obviously, muses would need to be 21+. I’d prefer to write Muse B but can be convinced to do either. ]

PLOT 4 ; Not necessarily a fully fleshed out plot but recently I’ve gotten the urge to try to make ocs with people again. So an open slate to pitch me any ideas you’re interested in, any connections your muse(s) might need and we can come up with characters to write with.

FAQ (zenith of stars)

Due to my Tumblr inbox being a little inundated these days, I've decided to put together a quick list here, which may or may not end up being edited further in the future.

Hopefully this helps! Thank you for the patience and understanding.

1. What's your update schedule?

Updates for zenith of stars are typically Friday evenings (weekly). In the case of breaks or unexpected delays coming up, I will always do my best to post a notice here on Tumblr beforehand!

2. Will there be any romance for Shiki?

There are no plans for romance in zenith of stars.

However, please note that I am not opposed to writing romance, so if it ends up occurring naturally later on, then what happens, happens. That being said: I do not plan to go out of my way to include romance in this story.

3. What year will Shiki be in as a student?

By the time we reach the canon timeline (2018), Shiki will be a third year student.

4. Where can I read additional zenith of stars AU snippets?

There is also a chaotic AU Index that includes most snippets, although it's not a complete masterlist of AUs mentioned on this blog.

5. Is there a masterlist of AUs to refer to?

I do not keep a masterlist myself, but @moldeater02 was kind enough to put together their own masterlist of AUs, which can be found here. Again, thank you very much!

6. Will you ever move these AUs to AO3?

I do not plan to compile and post these snippets on AO3.

Most of them are responses to Tumblr asks, and do not make much sense on their own with no context. Many are also not even written in chronological order. If any of them are eventually developed into proper stories on their own, then I will post separately, but as things currently are I would spare people the additional confusion.

7. How long is zenith of stars going to end up being?

I don't know. (Stares blankly into the distance.)

8. What's the status of your other stories?

Other stories aside from zenith of stars are either on hiatus or simply have very very slow updates.

and much madness must make is complete. There is a non-zero chance of bonus scenes in the future if the muse strikes me, but the story itself is finished.

musings on ffxiv politics in my very not-canon fanfic world:

so. firstly. I'm not precisely making any of these changes in the pursuit of 'realism'. I don't care how fantastical they are, really. any added complexity I introduce is purely in the interest of making them more interesting to write, for me.

now, a bit of context: I am a fan of Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time. in this series there is a focus on (fantasy) political maneuvering known as Daes Dae'mar, or the Game of Houses. this is essentially the process by which members of an aristocratic monarchy compete against one another for social position and political power, up to and including claims for thrones. Daes Dae'mar was very influential on my developing adolescent brain, to the point that two of my earliest tumblr urls were direct references to it.

so, naturally, I am motivated to flesh out the systems of governance for all of the relevant city-states. a lot of these are fleshed out in lore books or supplemental materials, but I am not referencing them while writing this post. I will reference them when writing my fic, though, so please bear with me if anything seems off. now, onto the meat of this post.

Part 1: Ul'dah

Ul'dah is the easiest, because it is the city-state with the most political intrigue of all of them. conflicts between the Sultana and the Syndicate erupt constantly, most notably in the 2.x MSQ. what I dislike about this is the way the game bends over backwards to keep the status quo. nanamo is a naive, powerless figurehead who wants to abdicate, but is poisoned before she can by a challenger. but yet ANOTHER opponent of hers swapped out the poison for a nonlethal one and orchestrated the former's execution at the hands of the sultana's fiercest defender! adeledji is an antagonist who wants to disrupt the status quo and has to be stopped; lolorito, on the other hand, profits from stability, so he saves the sultana's life, orchestrates adeleji's downfall, and covers up the entire thing to keep the peace — with strings attached.

how am I planning to change Ul'dah politics? first, by expanding the arena of potential future Syndicate members. the Syndicate is comprised of the six individuals who have provided the most wealth to the city, allegedly. how, then, is this wealth determined? is this a table where anyone rich enough can outbid someone for a seat? in my opinion, there needs to be competition for stations, influence, and financial power. maybe some of the seats are permanent: even just the head of the nation's military and church, respectively, leaving the other four seats up for grabs. THEN actually show the group of people vying for those last seats, show what happens when power changes hands — in canon, I'm not sure if the seats vacated by adeledji and raubahn were ever filled (unless pipin inherited his father's seat).

speaking of showing change: I don't want Nanamo to stay on the throne. she should dissolve the monarchy the way she originally planned to. yes it was naive, but the message of "oops ok I'll stay on the throne but learn to be more like lolorito but it's a good thing because I still have my pure heart <3" isn't something I'm interested in writing. have her abdicate. let it be messy. let her live a new life at the Silver Bazaar under a fake name.

Part 2: Limsa Lominsa

so Limsa Lominsa is in a really weird place as the most politically compelling to me and also the most disappointing execution to me. you have a bunch of major pirate* powers — in order to be a contender, all you need is a ship and a crew — and every seven years they have a contest and whoever wins is the dictator for the next seven years. that person's crew becomes the national military, but every other pirate crew is still out there, so the dictator needs to keep all her opposition happy. the dictator controls basically everything that is national — military, trade, land, treaties, law, whatnot.

to boil that down to "yeah the current ruler paused elections under martial law, outlawed piracy, and all three major opposition crews are fine with all that" is a bit of a letdown. sicard's duel was so cool! and hyllfyr's intervention was also badass! but I want things to be more complicated.

merlwyb's martial law has to end at some point. when it does, who will win rulership next, and what will her successor do with her ban on piracy and all her peace treaties? other crews won't always be content with not getting a seat at the planning table. but aside from the dictatorial crisis, consider: how is it decided which crews are politically significant enough to be worth mentioning? aside from merlwyb's League of Lost Bastards, there's rhoswen and carvallain who... have their thing going on, and hyllfyr who seems to just endorse merlwyb.

I want to explore how ambitious pirates with no fondness for taking orders scheme to rise to the top of the food chain, whether by taking the helm of the current powers or by steering their own crews into places of significance. I want to wade into the issue of how a curious libertarian autocracy accustomed to changing hands every seven years will need to change its inner workings to weather the tides of a changing political landscape as a post-piracy paradise.

also I love sicard. he will be a top player of Daes Dae'mar in my fic (and already is! if you haven't read How to Go Home Again, he's in [newly revised] chapter 2. gotta show up early to the msq these days. )

Part 3: Gridania

ok before I get started let me just say: I recently read that E-Sumi-Yan used to be the elder seedseer back at the start of 1.0. I'm bringing that back. nothing against Kan-E, it's just that for a position with 'Elder' in the title, a guy 200 years older than you probably deserves it more.

ok anyways. from what I read, Gridania is governed by a Seedseer Council who deliberate and discuss every issue of import before coming to a consensus. but on the brink of calamity, this slow deliberation was counterproductive, so they switched to just one person making decisions: Kan-E-Senna. I think they should switch back.

politics in Gridania seem to be much less linked to access to station and power, and much more linked to vested authority to carry out one's whims. those who are able and trained to interpret the elementals' will are given a lot of leeway in how they enforce their interpretation. they are not free from bias (looking at you, Hearer Marmaduke).

as it is presented ingame, there is not much room for the same internal politics in Gridania as in Ul'dah or Limsa Lominsa. I, however, think this is to Gridania's detriment, as internal political intrigue is one of the best ways to provide depth and investment into a setting.

in my fic, Gridania gets a couple shakeups, notably a mini-Greenwrath which calls the region's relationship to the Elementals into question. in the wake of this, there's groups of people who lose faith in entrusting the entire functioning of the city-state to the religious elite, and struggles for power take on a very "I know how to fix things better than they do" stance. I'm not fully sure what this will look like — Ul'dah has the Syndicate, and Limsa has the great pirate powers, but Gridania lacks a significant rulership opposition group. but I really WANT there to be one. Gridania needs it the most.

I think in order for that to happen, though, three region needs to stop being the Elementals' playpen. and I think the only way to stop painting it as such is to show how the Elementals in other parts of the world live. you cannot tell me that between Raincatcher Gully and Rootslake, only one of them has enough nature spirits to be significant to the running of that nation's government. (it probably has something to do with Amdapor, but I need to refresh my memory of the lore before I plan anything).

anyways. I'm struggling with planning the intrigue in the gridania chapters of my fic right now. that's why I decided to type this long-ass post.

These days I tend to be more casual roleplay than active roleplay blog. I tend to do more in the way of casual writing and posting musings and things that inspire my muses than a lot of active roleplaying. I simply don't have the time, energy, or motivation to do a lot of heavy roleplaying the way I used to, so I come and go at my leisure.

I still enjoy writing and roleplaying, though, so I am here to do just that. If you wish to interact with me, please keep these things in mind. My replies may be slow and will tend to lean more towards what interests me first - the rest will follow on a schedule. the familiar tug on his sleeve brought kratos back to a different time and place, one in which he was under another name, creed, and mannerism. the original reasonings behind his going to konoha lost within his expansive subconscious ( along with a host of other trivial matters that he’d outlived ): but it was there he had first met the inquisitive uchiha toddler who would often ran up and tug at his sleeve just so to grab his attention. for as many things in the shinobi world that changed, many stayed the same. just as the setting sun or a candle gave light, they would inturn also cast a shadow. still, kratos tried to guide itachi through the lush woodlands as best he could. their world of eternal struggle wasn’t built for those with impaired senses by any means, there was no means of aiding those whom where born of disadvantaged and the same could be said of those who sustained injury later in life. ❛ what should you call me indeed…? ❜ the question is muttered to himself than towards the other man as they walk closer to their destination through the various twist and turns of the wilds not belonging to the territory of a hidden village.

just had long had it been since ‘mystery sir’ had used his birth given name? just how many lifetimes had he died and lived since those mythical six letters passed his or another’s lips? far too long, far too long indeed the redheaded man mused as he ducked under a lowered tree branch and stopped in his movements until he saw itachi safelyish do the same. ❛ kratos, you may refer to me as kratos. ❜ it is a name that always sounds so wrong and ancient on his now-modernized tongue. as he, was an existence that predated even the forming of the five great nations: a man, born from a clan so old even the people among it had once worshipped kaguya as their one true god. that was history, even moreso than himself. finally, his steps lessened ( they’d been traveling for days with no rest ): as the duo approached another piece of woodlands before breaking the strong genjutsu surrounding the area to reveal a lone cabin tucked far away from the reaches of shinobi society.  ❛ i’ve returned in tow of company, martel. ❜ she was one of two of kratos’ best kept secrets, kept easily as she was once a member of a people long forgotten from a bygone era of oral and written record.

at his words, the women named martel eased out from the doorframe. her eyes mysterious as seafoam and waist length hair to match, came outside and the earth around her bloomed in flora with every step she took. the women martel’s viridescent glistening wings appeared as stained glass above a temples alter when the speckles of sunlight gleamed down onto her. she was an ethereal otherworldly beauty, but it made sense. as the women was originally not of earth, a birthright amongst the cosmos and a longevity predating shinobi. ❛ what do i owe such a pleasant surprise? ❜ her words light and loving: so unbefitting of a planet ruled by battle and bloodlust.

his hand still holds tight to itachi, as he ushers the young boy-turned-man-turned-rogue in front of him. even in a safeguarded place of millennia such as this, kratos never puts his guard down. ❛ someone i met a lifetime ago, i ask that you heal him to the best of your ability, friend. ❜ the best of her ability would be far beyond the current world of shinobi’s comprehension. if the knowledge of just who and what she was was known status—there would be not a question of who the mother of all medical ninjutsu would be.

sensing the boys’ bewilderment, martel approaches him cautiously as to not startle him and her eyes half close at the sight of him. ❛ i am martel. please allow me to tend to your wounds, if it can put you more at ease i will answer any questions you posses to the best of ability. kratos has only ever brought one other person here before and that was ages ago. ❜ the word ‘ages’ is stressed in a way that is meant to imply more than just the usual expression.

ㅤThere came the pat, tender in a manner Itachi wasn't certain to be deserving of, and when the hand touched his head- ...he flinched. Hard. Not out of pain, the gods knew his system was full of it inside and out, but the simple act of being touched; to put his integrity in the hands of someone else. Clearly, it wasn't only his face that Danzo had forever marred. Thankfully, in having his reaction time currently delayed to almost pathetic levels, the brief instant of unresponsiveness was sufficient for the older man to... work whatever magic was now at play. Medical ninjutsu, the Uchiha's tired mind assumed, as he closed his eye and humbly accepted the mercy offered.

ㅤIt wouldn't make that grand a difference, that much went without saying. Not even the most powerful shinobi in the world had the power to restore lost limbs or organs. Even if he was to, one day, retrieve the eye that belonged to him [assuming Danzo hadn't already crushed it out of sheer malice], Itachi wasn't naive enough to believe it'd be of any practical use. For days, now, that wound had been festering, lacking any semblance of proper care other than being washed in water from streams; the nerves damaged beyond repair and the eye socket itself to eventually become a mass of scar tissue. Given the terrible circumstances, however, he would welcome whatever respite he could find - and the man's kind action, indeed, soon soothed the aching to something much more bearable.

ㅤVoice was small and weak, yet the sincerity it carried could not be questioned. Sincerity to then be joined by a blend of curiosity and confusion, as the sort-of command was given. Visit an old friend, was it...? Days before, Itachi might have questioned it; might have demanded to know more before making an informed choice. At present? He lacked both the energy and the motivation to care. For what could hope to hurt him more than the traitorous deeds his own hands had committed? He simply nodded in response, then, and tried to make himself a tad more human once more. The discarded kunai was quickly washed clean in the stream and returned to the pouch of his gear, and the forehead protector was half-clumsily shoved into a pocket; still basking in the relief that the man's healing had brought, Itachi didn't want to disturb the flesh near that portion of his face. And he got to walking, dutifully following to whenever their destination would prove to be.

ㅤA feat not to be easily achieved, as it was. Having lost his eye also meant having lost his sense of depth perception, and by far Itachi was still struggling to adjust. Even in keeping the kind stranger by his non-blind side, the rest was bothersome enough; every now and then, as they ventured through the woods, he'd completely miss a root protruding from the ground and stumble over it or misjudge how near a tree trunk was and half-walk into it. Hopefully, his new unlikely partner wouldn't be too vexed by such sloppy company. But, speaking of which... Despite the lingering fever, now his brain wasn't as overwhelmed by physical agony anymore and it gave the boy a chance to better appraise the situation. Why was he being helped...? Could it be solely out of the goodness of this man's heart? Out of the bond-of-sorts the two of them had crafted so many years gone? Awkwardly, Itachi reached with a hand to tug at one of the older one's sleeves gently, meaning to get his attention.

An introduction:

Hello, good day. This introduction of me (not my story's world) is something I should have done when I first made this account, but completely spaced and wanted to do a worldbuilding intro over this. Anyway, no time like the present.

My name is Elyse or if you want, you can refer to me as Night Fox or Fox. Whatever is the easiest to remember or you are comfortable with. Pronouns are She/They.

I'm just your local Bi, Nonbinary, Disabled Adult Fantasy Writer and Art Doodler.

My current writing projects. My main projects are a loosely connected series. Set in the same world known as the Kaeyama, but has different MCs and Countries in each book. The side stories/spin offs are usually set in the same country as their main counterpart, but as I'm going to explain there's an exception to this rule:

The Legend of Bolyra - This story follows a Magic/Physical Disabled, Bi, Polyamorous Snow Elf Thief, who's a Princess in hiding, named Aerilaya Lithrina (later Likuri - a combination last name of her husband and her wife's). Who stumbles upon a sacred orb belonging to the LifeBlood Tree and a journal from a High Priestess who served Two Twin Goddesses during an investigation to make sure a local greedy noble isn't hoarding extra wealth at a seemingly abandoned temple at the edge of town.

The Legend of Huisong - Follows 3 misfits, who try to find their place in the world, while dealing with one another's dark and potentially dangerous secrets. A Runosu (a humanlike being with Iridescent Glowing Skin, Light Purple Eyed, and Natural Multicolored hair) named Sairi, a Kayosei (a humanoid butterfly person known for having beautiful purple wings) named Murasaki, and a nonbinary, trans Kitsune named Hiraku.

The Legend of Iecruinia - Follows 4 dragonborns who end up on a quest to find their kidnapped parents and the sacred crystals their parents were guarding. Before the floating islands of their lands come crashing down and watch their country being thrown into destructive chaos.

Side stories:

A Winter's Dance (tentative title), a novella that follows three human nobles who live in the oppressive monarchy dictatorship country known as Helina. Thornton Sr, his wheelchair bound cousin with Time Magic Luciana Nightwork, and Fire User Nym Andronicus. This story is a play on Romeo and Juliet (but none of the three MCs dies. Yes, yes, you can boo me and throw your tomatoes. 🤭) This is a prequel back story to these three characters, how they wound up in Bolyra, and started a Thieves' Guild. This also gives insight to the Slave Trade and how people - regardless of status feel about it (I do a lot of characters who are in high positions of power and reject their status at one point or another.)

Short Story Collection 1 and 2 - These collections take place about 100 to 200 years after the main events of TLoB (haven't finished this, but the muse wants semi cozy stories at the moment and wants me to build up some characters that makes appearances in TLoB.)

Art Projects:

I'm currently working on some printable bookmarks and digital (which can be printed too) stickers for my Ko-fi Shop. Also, for funsies and to improve my art skills is doing fan art of video game characters for both Ko-fi and Patreon.

a few small notes on portrayal & characterization:

( ophelia has been in toa for a year but i never really made a post like this for her. so since we have new muses and muns, i’ll pin this to the blog and remake it later. )

ONE.  ophelia is being written w the knowledge that she knows of the brand of exalt, owain’s true identity, her family in ylisse, and her royal status as a princess. this is one of her main arcs in toa and will not be subject to change. the royal family does not know that she’s aware of this and neither do they know that she is owain’s daughter ( yet to interact with anyone besides chrom, set to change later ). she does not hide her brand of exalt mark though and it can be seen.

TWO. ophelia is written as being genderfluid which means that she uses she / he / they pronouns. i’ve already written a post concerning this:

“ for the sake of clarity and not wanting to confuse any current / future writing partners, her pronouns will not switch from all three in between posts. as well as this, there’s no need to change what you refer to him as in your muse’s posts since he’s fine with anything. if i do end up confusing a partner with my replies ( which seems unlikely but then again, i would like to be sure ) then please let me know in dms and i’ll switch to one pronoun set for that thread. ”

THREE.  a personal and indulgent headcanon i have for her is that ophelia is dark-skinned. and i’d appreciate it if all descriptions of her on the dash went along w this headcanon! if it’s too much trouble then please refrain from describing her appearance at all. i don’t want to sound harsh but i’ve had people ( not in toa ) in the past completely ignore a muse’s headcanoned skin color and describe it wrong. people also don’t necessarily draw my muses but if you do ( and it’s supposed to be a colored drawing of toa!ophelia ) then ask me for the specific tone needed to color her. 

FOUR.  i do believe that ophelia’s ability of being able to foresee the future is true! but it rarely happens on command and comes in the form of daydreams or dreams. the visions are blurry, foggy, and she can really only make out noises and colors. she uses those to infer what they mean. this will barely be mentioned in posts but just in case, there’s my sight on it.

More about Via

For most of Via’s life, she was never referred to by her actual name when introduced to people. She was always “the granddaughter of Don Claudio and Doña Wilhelmina Sotto,” whose names inspire fear or awe—depending on who is hearing or saying them. Those who know the names know how much influence they sway in the Philippines, particularly in the southern islands of the country, but their influence does not stop there. The Sottos of New York have always been tied to opulence, famously known as art collectors and real estate magnates in one of the most expensive places to live in. Via’s mother took care to keep the tradition alive, hosting some of the most historic gatherings in the Hamptons. But of course, anyone in New York knows these traditions are not just about fun and festivities. Hidden behind caviars and canapés is the parental instinct to pave the way for the next generation to hold the mantel when it’s their turn. Even back in Via’s school days, classmates were clearly told by parents wanting to keep a good connection with the Sottos to be mindful of her wishes.

When one is born with influence, it becomes almost as natural as breathing--even when Via is not aware of it or choosing to actively exert it. Despite the air of influence, Via remained grounded--as far as grounding can go for someone who enjoys her fair share of everyday excesses. Unfortunately for the elder Sottos, the heir and heiress of the family fortune both refused to fall in line for the scripted life, the gilded cage. Via is known to spend her time anywhere but in the usual hangouts of the rich and famous, which is why she ended up in Santa Felicita, a paradise to its residents but it’s no Saint-Tropez. She is also here for another reason: Her older brother, who disappeared mysteriously two years ago, has been spotted here, or at least that’s the private investigator told Via.

despite coming from old money and a very influential family, via does not like to concern herself with complicated social connections and often finds it burdensome to keep up appearances.

however, this does not mean she does not use it to her advantage from time to time. she is a socialite, after all. 

no one who’s actually friends with via calls her olivia. anyone who name-drops her using her full name is clearly using her for clout--or at least that’s what she assumes. only her family calls her olivia.
