Swordtail, Lady Scarab, Jerboa, Chameleon, Katydid, that one Lavender baby Skywing without wings or smth (unless it was a Silkwing--it was on the WoF wiki for Skywings), Cricket's cranky Grandma, Blue's mother, Bella or Sundew's father, maybe one of the Silkwing guards I cannot seem to remember because I secretly enjoy nameless or named side characters that do nothing but sparkle in the wake of the protag and antags in these books-
Please tell me ONE of these has not been drawn 😂

belladonna! she's terrifying, i had to draw her. her design is based on the dark purple-black berries and occasionally heart-shaped leaves of the atropa belladonna, or deadly nightshade :)

i came across your post about your boss being poisoned by his ex-wife AND his girlfriend on pinterest and i just?? i very desperately need to know more??? if you're able to could you please let him know his online fans are begging for context?
So two things about that. One: I never told anyone at work that I posted about that on tumblr. Two: I got fired from that job two or three months ago. However, there’s more context in the reblogs!

If you're seeking out wings of fire suggestions then Bryony and Grayling, the leafwing silking pair, if you only want one then Grayling would probably be a more interesting design given one of his in-text descriptors likens him to a pile of chinchillas.

bryony and grayling! bryony insisting in the guide that she never cries makes me believe she's SUPER emotional, haha. bryony is based on white bryony and autumn, and grayling is based on chinchillas :)

People naming their fantribes things like ShadowWings makes me unreasonably mad. Every single cannon tribe has a two syllable name. With the exception being PoisonWings, but that doesn’t count because they’re actually just LeafWings

Wings of Fire tribe hcs! Again!
PoisonWing LeafWings often have three leaf-like appendages at the end of their tails, and SapWings have just one. Leaves of three, let it be ;)
RainWings talons are unique. They have three foreclaws, and two opposable claws, like a koala or a chameleon, which helps them grip branches. Both RainWings and SkyWings have an opposable claw on their back legs, like bird talons, which allow them to grab things.
SeaWings pierce their webs and put rings through them, for ✨fashion✨
RainWing ruffs are not only for emotional expression. They help a dragon determine whether they can fit through a space or not, similar to a cat's whiskers.
SkyWings and SeaWings both have great directional sense.
Dragons can be declawed as a form of punishment. This is especially common in the SkyWing kingdom and also done to SilkWings if their HiveWing masters decide. SilkWings also have their biggest incisor teeth removed upon hatching.
All dragons, by nature with the exception of NightWings which are typically color blind, to some extend get turned on by bright colors. This is because they are related to birds and reptiles. This also means that RainWings have an advantage when it comes to seducing dragons, especially from other tribes.
SeaWings are culturally very openly affectionate towards their friends and partners and in intertribal relationships they tend to be very romantic, and dragons from tribes like SkyWings or IceWings often get like. Really confused. Same with RainWings.

Moonlight and Blush the SilkWing couple!
Moonlight (Female) was once a construction worker living in Hornet Hive. When the Liberation War started (the Chrysalis and LeafWing alliance against the mind-controlled HiveWings), she began training to become a warrior. As unrest grew in the Hives, and Queen Wasp's rule became stricter and stricter, Moonlight fled Hornet Hive and sought refuge in the PoisonWing Village. That's when she met Blush!
Moonlight is inspired by the Moonlight Butterfly from Dark Souls
Blush (male) was born in Bloodworm Hive and worked as a web spinner. When the fire started, some SilkWings escaped in the confusion (most were caught by HiveWings), and by sheer chance he ended up in the Poison Jungle. After joining the swelling ranks of refugees, he started training to become a healer.
Blush is inspired by the Blushing Phantom butterfly (Cithaerias pireta)
Some things about my AU (random, not thought too much about it):
• Pyrrhia dragons never come to Pantala (Luna never travels to Pyrrhia, Moon doesn't receive the prophecy, the rebels are on their own!)
• The Chrysalis starts training SilkWings to be warriors, and recruit as many dragons that are willing to join
• Things mostly go the same until the end of The Hive Queen
• The Chrysalis and PoisonWings form an alliance to take down Queen Wasp (she can't control the HiveWings if she's dead!)
• Eventually, after the Liberation War ended, and Queen Wasp was killed in the bloodiest war in Pantala's history, the SilkWings elect Luna as their queen
• Queen Luna and Jewel work to heal the hatred/bigotry between their tribes (a majority of SilkWings stay in the Hives)
• No Cottonmouth (cause I don't like him)
• ... and that's all I can think of right now (feel free to add more ideas!)

Do you think all WOF dragons are ambidextrous? Because of fighting styles? Usually, an animal can or will use both claws(talons in this case) when fighting. And if so, that flips into when they write because they are taught to fight with all weapons on body.
So instead of having a dominant talon, scientifically a talon(hand) is preferred because of strength and dexterity etc., and both talons are equally strong so they just use whichever one they want.
Or are they like humans? And use their right talon more than their left?
Does that make sense? I don’t know. Lol.
With how humanized in general dragons are this is a tough one… but honestly I like to think that it’s adapted over time or just NOT one or the other.
Hear me out- growing up as a rich scholarly Nightwing, with fighting as a secondary skill. In that situation I would think that the Nightwing here would probably have a dominant talon, and therefore struggle with fighting more and relying heavily on their fire breath.
Compare this now to a Poisonwing freedom fighter who was taught to fight before they could even read or write, this dragon probably doesn’t have a dominant talon and therefore is pretty loosey goosey with what talon they use to write and do tasks, which in turn makes their writing somewhat sloppier, not having an interest in neat handwriting or training one talon specifically to have more control than the other.
I think this could go either way and it varies based on time period, location, social status and tribe. During long warring times between tribes, most lower class dragons drafted to fight likely don’t have the “privilege” of having a dominant talon, while the scholarly Nightwings in times of peace, or peaceful Silkwing weavers likely naturally grew accustomed to a dominant talon.
Nowdays having a dominant talon is widely considered a subtle sign of wealth, having enough privilege to not be forced to fight, or being able to attend a good school, being taught how to write with a steady talon and grow a skill in your written work’s aesthetic appearance. A tribes I would consider however to not believe in this are Mudwings, as most Mudwing literature is oral in nature, and was so exclusively ( in my headcanon- ) until recently. Being non-ambidextrous as a Mudwing would just weird other Mudwings out tbh, “You raised outside of the Mud Kingdom or something??”
