A police officer shoots his ex boyfriend and partner with his police issued gun and the grieving queer community BEGS for them not to march in pride because we literally just lost two of our own, and there's absolutely no sympathy from the cops? I'm not surprised, but I'm disgusted and appalled. ACAB includes queer cops too.

i honestly think the warning that people in oncoming cars give you about a hidden police speed-check that they just passed is one of the biggest indicators of humanity being an altruistic species. nobody needs to frantically flash other cars and do that universal 'slow down! slow down!' hand wiggle but we do because we're inherently kind and focussed on looking after those in our community (other humans) from dangerous, conniving predators (cops).

I don't remember if I ever said it here but - fat discrimination is going to the ER for something completely unrelated to weight and having the doctor write down "mild abdominal obesity" in your report. as if it was somehow relevant, worth noting, or had ANYTHING to do with why I was in the ER. thin people don't have to put up with it.

I'm guarding my heart against expecting adoribull crumbs in veilguard because I really don't believe it's going to happen. I think that might be one of the sweet slender branches on the possibility tree that they'll gently and quietly prune away from relevancy, especially since it doesn't involve a player character. dorian will almost certainly be back (hey hiii bestie how have you been? stressed out of your mind I imagine), but I can't imagine they'll let you get too granular with setting up your world state, especially since after ten years they will be expecting to have a lot of players who are new to the series. like AT MOST I can imagine a little background detail implying an amicable bittersweet breakup rather than dragging out the long distance and danger of it all as tevinter politics heat up, if you're allowed to set them both as being still alive.

not to fire discourse shots on a thursday noon but I think it's absurd to love a character whose entire backstory and character arc revolves around the trauma of slavery and racism and then set arbitrary limits on writers who wish to write about those aspects of his characterization. like I'm not saying you HAVE to write or read content about this aspect of his character to appreciate him, but I think it is a little backwards to decide that the things that give him complexity as a character are exactly what we should not be writing about LMFAOAOFLSNSM

finishing up this documentary a friend recommended to me. I didn’t know basically anything about OJ Simpson beforehand and after having watched this documentary I don’t know how else you would be able to tell this story without the foundational context of white supremacy/Black oppression in America and Simpson’s bizarre position within it. like I feel like this documentary provides you with a comprehensive opinion about him and his place in American history. honestly jaw dropping
