Could you do a brother’s best friend!Megumi x reader?
like her brother being overprotective, but being oblivious of his best friend’s crush on her sister?
(not the) best kept secret
- fushiguro megumi x reader
cool, brooding and handsome. your crush on your brother's best friend is a secret you only keep to yourself. little do you know, he too feels the same. and so, your love story—and the trials and tribulations that come with it—begins.
genre/warnings: college au, reader being yuji's little sister and him and your family being protective, fluff, mutual pining, tiny weeny angst if you squint? with happy ending ofc!
notes: awww anon, this ask is so cute and so hidden love-coded! did you watch hidden love too? because this piece draws inspiration from that ehe. and uh it turned out longer than i expected and i haven't proofread it but pls enjoy!
general masterlist
You have had a crush on your brother’s best friend, Megumi, for a while now.
Actually, scratch that. For a long time now, since you were in middle school, in fact.
In your eyes, he was really cool. He was reserved and not very talkative, which was a stark contrast to your brother Yuji, who could talk a mile a minute every day. It always baffled you why the two could be bosom friends.
And he treated you well. Megumi may have bonked Yuji’s head at any given chance, but with you, he was different. He was gentler, kinder, and overall just considerate. Sometimes he would even pick you up in your brother’s place, and your heart would beat out of your chest from sheer giddiness.
Little did you know, he too didn’t quite see you as a mere sister of his friend.
It started with head pats. You heart would flutter and he would be more conscious of his actions. Yuji had furrowed an righteous eyebrow at the sight.
“Oi, Fushiguro, that’s some favoritism there!” he whined. “I helped you with homework and what did I get—”
“Shut up, Itadori.”
And then the text messages. You didn’t know how or why you ended up texting him on daily basis. He was the one who texted you first a few months ago, having obtained your number from a mutual friend in your circle to ask about the best gift for Yuji’s birthday. And somehow up until now, you found yourselves telling him how your day went, and he the same.
you: i've just finished my class today. so tired megumi: oh? mine is still in session. quite boring you: i see. well, ganbatte!
Those little interactions made your day, and for now, you were quite satisfied with them. But when your phone buzzed once again, signaling a new text, you couldn't resist the urge to swiftly open the messaging app to expect the expected.
megumi: wanna grab lunch later?
It was so incredibly childish, but you felt like winning.
Lunch invitations were often. You spent the whole duration of lunch with him almost every day at this point. The two of you talked about many mundane things, and he would have this small smile whenever you griped about your hard tests or annoying classmates.
Head pats. Texts. Lunches.
And then there was Nobara.
Now, don't get me wrong. You adored her—she was a fun person, pretty and you even looked up to her as your role model at some point. If Yuji somehow ended up with her, you were sure to give them 200% of your blessings.
But seeing her with Megumi was another story. Sometimes you envied your brother's close knit group of three. They had been friends since middle school, and it was granted that Nobara would spend a whole load of time with both your brother and Megumi. With Yuji, she was harsher and didn't take him seriously, but you couldn't deny what your peers had been whispering and what you yourself found very plausible—she and Megumi would make a fine match.
It wasn't your intention at all, but ever since you saw him and Nobara at the toy shop together, pulling for popular merchandises in gacha box, you started losing confidence in yourself and inadvertently put this distance between you and him.
At first it was subtle, Megumi didn't even realize it. But when your replies were few and far in between, he decided it was time to address the problem.
"You don't answer my texts," he stated one day, barely catching you at campus during the lunchtime. Now that he thought about it, you kept denying his lunch invitations too. "Are you avoiding me?"
"I, um," you stuttered. You didn't anticipate running into him, to be honest, and so you were at loss of words. "It isn't like that..."
Megumi figured that he had done something to make you feel like you should avoid him, but he didn't want the two of you to be in this awkward situation any longer, so he led you away from the crowd to your usual place of hanging out after lunch—the rooftop.
"Have I done something?" he asked warily. "It's okay, you can tell me."
"No, Megumi, I—"
"I don't want us to be like—this," Megumi said, his face contorting with a deep frown. "I don't like it at all."
Typically, he regarded friendships as a pain, but not with you. Not with the girl he had been pining over for who knows how long now.
Yuji's sister. He had to remind himself of that fact so many times and yet his heart didn't seem to get it. You were his best friend's dearest sister, and yet he fell for you regardless. If Yuji knew, he would definitely had some opinions on this.
And so for the last few months, he kept it hidden under his sleeves. He approached you, befriended you, took you out on lunch dates—acting on his growing feelings for you and yet he didn't have the courage to confess still.
But enough was enough. If not confessing meant losing you altogether, then he was willing to take the risk. At the very least, if you did reject him, he would have gone down with a fight.
"Y/N, I don't know if you're already aware of this or not, but..." he gulped. Apparently this wasn't as easy as he thought, especially when you met his gaze with your cutely confused ones.
"I have feelings for you. I... like you, quite much."
His voice was clear, without any hint of doubt. You were taken aback and widened your eyes out of surprise.
"You do...?" you shyly asked him back, finding it hard to believe. Fushiguro Megumi, the boy you've been crushing on since you were 15, when you were only able to hide behind Yuji and saw him from afar. The boy who once was indifferent to you, was now confessing his feelings for you? He liked you back in the same way you liked him?
"I do," he replied with clarity, and then a smile. That small smile that always made your insides do somersaults. "I want to ask you out for a while now, but since well... you know... out of consideration for your brother, I felt like I couldn't simply whisk you away."
To his surprise, you laughed, and Megumi found himself breathless. The way you laugh was so mesmerizing in his eyes, reminding him why he could fall in love with you in the first place.
"I like you too, Megumi."
And that was all he needed. Apparently that confirmation was enough to forget that you were the sister of his long-time friend, and that it was fine even if you were. After all, since when was it a crime to romance your best friend's sister?
Still, you two decided to keep it under the wraps first. Springing this on Yuji would startle him, you reasoned, and he agreed. It was more convenient this way anyways.
Your relationship with Megumi was a happy one. He was curt, but never failed to look out for you. He remembered things you liked, and would take you out on places you wanted to go. Arguments were there—granted, sometimes he was just too stubborn, so you may have a clash of opinions—but in the end, the two of you always managed to work it out.
But there was always something melancholic in Megumi that you weren't sure you could touch at all. Perhaps it was due to his upbringing—his incomplete family. You tried to fill that gap, giving him many fun and happy memories, hoping it would replace his sad ones. He was grateful for that.
Nonetheless, the reality persisted that your brother, Yuji, remained completely oblivious to all of this. Yuji still thought that you were his innocent younger sister, and Megumi was his best bro. Sometimes you felt bad to do all this behind his back, and yet you made no move to rectify it.
“Hey, let’s ask Fushiguro to join too!” Yuji would say, and you would agree. And then, in front of him, you and Megumi would refrain from being too friendly, and he would be none the wiser.
All things have karma. You have built your karma too, for deceiving your kind and sweet brother.
"Fushiguro! How could you?!"
When Yuji's fist collided with his jaw, honestly Megumi had given up on fighting back, because one, there was no chance of winning against him, and two, your scream pierced the air, filled with worry for him.
You two just had to be found out in the worst way possible—while making out. It was wrong in so many levels in the first place. Why and how did you even initiate making out in your house that you shared with your brother?
"It could've been anyone," Yuji fumed with anger, his teeth clenching. "Anyone at all! And yet it has to be Y/N—my own sister! Fushiguro, have you ever considered the magnitude of betrayal this is to me?"
"Yuji! Please stop!" you tried to intervene. "He's not at wrong—it was me who—"
"No, you don't get any say in this!" for the first time, you saw your kind brother got angry and it made you quiver in fear. Yuji had never been angry, not to you. "You too, Y/N. How could do this behind my back? The least you could do is telling me!"
"I'm an adult!" you stressed, now irritated at this display of protectiveness from him. "I can date whoever I want and you can't just punch the man who happens to be my boyfriend!"
Honestly, if asked, Yuji wasn’t like 100% against your relationship with Megumi. He and Megumi practically grew up together, he knew the best and worst parts of him, and overall he still considered him decent.
But what made it hurt was that the two of you decided to leave him out. It made him doubt everything he knew about his best friend. How could he trust his sister to someone he found hard to trust?
He turned to Megumi, who was still slumped on the floors of his garage. “No. If he really likes you that much, then he will willingly accept this.”
Megumi understood, if his own sister was dating… let’s say, someone like Gojo, whom he trusted but not at the same time, he too would definitely beat the crap out of him.
And so he willingly endured all the blows. Yuji had to let off steam, and this pain was worth everything if it meant he would give his blessing for you.
Yuji was taken aback that his friend actually let him do this. When Megumi got thrown one last time and almost passed out, Yuji finally decided that it was the end.
His best friend and his sister… it was almost laughable if he didn’t feel like the biggest fool between the two of you.
He saw how you immediately sauntered towards him with tears in your eyes, muttering several apologies. Yuji wanted to snort, but then Megumi took a hold of your hand that was on his bruised cheek, and smiled, saying that it was okay.
And despite himself, his heart felt warm. Seeing the usual gruff and cold Megumi be this… soft with you seemed to open his eyes to something more.
Looking back, he could’ve had realized it when Megumi started to get touchy with you. He completely missed that the head pats were actually his subtle way of expressing his fondness for you.
Yuji decided to leave you be. At least he had made his point across, and he hated to say it outright, but perhaps, it was okay after all for you to be with him.
Okay didn’t mean you two had obtained his full blessing, though. But another event soon changed his perspective.
“Itadori,” Megumi’s ragged breaths was what he registered first through the sudden phone call. “Please come here—Y/N—she was—”
It was Yuji’s first time to witness pure panic from Megumi. He proceeded to tell him how you had been in pain and then collapsed, and that he had brought you to the hospital.
When Yuji arrived at the hospital, he once again saw how restless his friend was over your wellbeing. He could no longer deny it—the sight moved him.
“Hey, you awake?” Megumi’s face was the first you saw when you awoke at the hospital bed. He looked so concerned, a frown creased deep in his face. “Are you not in pain anymore?”
No, not quite much anymore, you wanted to say, but your throat felt so dry and you only managed to shake your head lightly.
“That’s good,” he let out a relieved sigh, and that was when you notice your brother at the corner of the room, looking at you two with a somewhat exasperated expression, but then he smiled.
Who knew a severe case of appendicitis would lead to Yuji giving his complete approval for you to date his best friend, huh?
But life is nothing if not full of obstacles. The next obstacle you faced after Yuji’s finding out was your parents.
“Look Y/N, we know. Megumi is a good guy,” you mother started. “We've known him for a long time, of course, personality-wise, we have nothing against him.”
You bit your lower lip in frustration. Beside you at the dinner table, Yuji kept his silence, but listened attentively too.
“It’s just… the matters of his family,” your father added, carefully choosing his words.
“His father is never in the picture, is he? And there are also rather unsettling news about him too.” Your mother was always the one being more straightforward.
Both you and Yuji knew it already. As of now, Megumi only had his stepsister, and last you heard, his father was gambling somewhere and then became a convict. Megumi said he had cut ties with him, but there was no such thing as an ex-father. Until forevermore, Fushiguro Toji, a criminal, was his biological father.
“Mom, I know your concern,” Yuji had finally decided to step up, and you were grateful for that. “Fushiguro won’t end up—”
“Yes, we know,” your mother emphasized, letting out a sigh. “But we are your parents, Yuji, Y/N. If there’s even the slightest chance, we worry. We want the best for you. Always.”
You were at a loss.
You were young, and yet you already saw him in your distant future. Being with Megumi felt so right and comfortable. He was your safe space as you were his.
But you also understood where your parents’ concerns came from, or at least tried to. At least until you found out how your father approached Megumi to talk him into thinking your relationship over.
"How could you, Dad?" you asked, aghast. "You're... practically intimidating him into breaking up with me!"
"Y/N, listen—I never meant it like that," your father tried to explain himself, and yet you were already too heartbroken to hear him, and so you shut the door to your room, not giving him any chance.
Why did your relationship suddenly become everyone's business? Why couldn't they just let you be an adult?
Megumi could still hear your father's words rang in his ears.
"Y/N... we raised her with love and care," your father said with a forlorn expression. By all means, Megumi knew that he meant well. "She's always spoiled, my only daughter... Megumi-kun, you must understand, it's not easy for us too."
He knew that his rather colorful past would get in the way one way or another, and he had come to accept it. But it still stung, because of course, he wanted full blessings from the family of the girl he fell in love with.
You were like a ray of sunshine in his dreary life. Like Yuji, your presence had made an impact on him. Your cute smiles, pouts and vulnerability around him... he loved them all.
He would get upset when you looked sad, just as you were now.
"It's really okay... Y/N." He swiftly wiped your tears with his thumb, as you sniffled. "I didn't take it to heart. Your father is just worried about you... I can understand that."
"But still—h-he shouldn't do that," you replied amidst your small sobs. Above all, you didn't want your father to have spooked him. "Megumi... I don't want to break up with you."
And honestly he didn't expect that. You were afraid of him... leaving you?
He, who did everything he could, just to have you to be by his side?
"Sir, I know where you are coming from. As of now, I don't have much. But I can say this with confidence—I... love your daughter very much, and I will do everything in my power to make sure that she is happy."
"Stupid," he huffed, putting a hand on your head, before messing up your hair. And gosh, you were so cute, glaring at him through your lashes.
"I won't. I've told your father that too actually."
"Just give me two years," Megumi added with unwavering voice, staring at your father earnestly. "After graduation, I'm getting my life in order. I'll secure a stable job and do my best. I'm... going to prove it to you, and you can be the judge if I can finally deserve Y/N or not."
He was 16 when he knew you, seeing you as nothing but a little girl too timid to approach him. And he was 19 when he realized that you were everything he wanted in a girl of his dreams.
At one point in his life, Megumi thought it was okay to be alone. But ever since getting to know you, he realized that loving and being loved by you were the greatest happiness of existence.
"Thank you," he muttered afterwards, as you were still starstruck that he apparently had the balls to declare something like that before your father.
"Thank you for giving me so much love. Because of you, I realized that I too deserve to be loved."
You could feel tears glassing your eyes once again. “You are. I’m glad that you finally think so.”
And that was it—your love story. Something that had started when you were 15, and ended ten years later when you were 25, with swearing your love for each other in front of the sacred altar before your closest family and friends, and Megumi by your side.

CONFISCATED - PART 3

*POP*
Blowing a big wet bubble from her slutty pink lips, Loren giggled and watched the timer on her phone counting down. She still had nearly a whole day yet. It was still only moments since she had transformed.
It really was lucky that Brat App had a refund option, lucky that she could return to her male form anytime she wanted. After all - that was what she wanted... right?
This was just wish fulfillment. A chance to see how it felt to live as a slutty, mean, teenage bitch. Loren wasn't planning to stay this way for much longer. She'd have to go back to being Lawrence, being a responsible adult eventually. Wouldn't she?
Glancing out of the window, Loren's lips twitched into a smile as she watched Bethany riding big dick, her massive tits bouncing with every thrust.
Then again, it looked like Loren's new Mommy was enjoying her transformation. Maybe when Loren changed back into Lawrence she could somehow arrange for Bethany to stay the way she was now.
But right now, she had things to do and she still had plenty of time to enjoy herself.
Like finally having some fun with Bella. After all, it was the other girls fault that this had all happened in the first place and Loren was curious to have a little heart to heart with her 'sister'.
Admiring her sexy nails, Loren tossed back her silky blonde hair and standing up admired her perfect body. She was slender and toned, curvy in all the right places. Her clothing was tight and flirty, her makeup bold and bubblegum pink. She smelt of vanilla and when she moved she jangled with jewellery. She was every inch a pink, popular princess.
You are such a toxic fucking bitch and you love it.
Loren couldn't disagree with the gloating voice in her head. After all, it was right and it made her wet and horny to think about how evil she now was.
That's right bitch. You can do whatever you want because when you activate the refund everything will go back to normal and no one will remember what you did.
Loren's eyes widened as she considered this. That's right. She could be totally evil and give into every depraved whim she wanted, no one would ever know.
Yessssss, you wanna be bad Loren. You wanna be soooo fucking evil that you can't stop cumming your little bitchy panties. You know what would be really hot? To bully and destroy Bella. She's such a little brat, but you can cut her down to size. Won't it feel good to make the little loser suffer?
Loren groaned. She blew a big wet bubble, her manicured hands rubbing her crotch where a wet patch had appeared.
It was so wrong but the thought of bullying and destroying Bella was making Loren horny. After all in this new reality Bella wasn't Loren's daughter - she was her pathetic sister. She could do what she wanted to her.
And best of all you'll earn more brat points to use in the app. Being mean and toxic earns sooooo many points. You can make more changes to your status, your personality. You can become more evil and bratty. Wouldn't that feel good?
Loren groaned, her panties soaked now as the voice in her head sank poision deeper into her thoughts. Yessss, she needed to replenish her brat points. There was still so much she could do with the power. So much she could BECOME.
"I'm going to destroy that fucking loser," she gasped her eyes fluttering in orgasmic pleasure. "I need it... I need to be bad."
Good girl. You're so close now. So fucking close.
Loren began to cum...
***

Bella screamed.
Squeezing her eyes tight shut, she opened them again but the hideous image that she had just seen returned. The image of a loser. The image of who she used to be.
"No, this can't be happening," she panted.
A few months ago Bella had downloaded a magical app to her phone. Brat App. She had always wanted to be more popular, more beautiful and the app had given her what she wanted. She had begun using the app, spending the initial free points to make herself a little more bitchy and attractive.
With the upgrades to her personality, she'd been able to earn more brat points. Slowly, month by month she'd made gradual improvements to her appearance, status and personality. She had become more and more the hot, spoiled, brat she longed to be.
Eventually Bella had become tired of the gradual changes. She'd decided to save up all the points she would need and then transform in one fell swoop. She had been so close. So close to becoming a hot mega-bitch, and then her Dad had confiscated her phone.
And now... now all of her points had been removed. It was as if she had never had the app in the first place. She didn't understand.
*CRASH*
The door to Bella's bedroom crashed open and Bella's mouth fell open as a blonde Goddess walked in with a smirk on her face.
At first she had no idea who this bitch was, but as she laid eyes on the girl, she suddenly knew who she was. Loren... her sister.
"Wh... what the hell?" gasped Bella as a slew of memories she knew were not real flooded her mind. Loren... Loren was her sister. Her popular, beautiful, more talented and attractive sister. The sister she admired and was jealous of. The sister who bullied her and made her feel inferior.
"N..nooooo," she groaned grabbing her head.
"Like, ohhhh yeah," purred Loren as she watched Bella fighting the memories. "Don't worry loser, I used the app to safeguard your original memories as well as give you new ones. Until I decide otherwise you'll remember the way things used to be as well as the way they are now."
"W..who are you?" gasped Bella her head throbbing painfully. "N... nooo, Dad?"
Loren laughed with glee. "That's right you dumb little bitch. I spent ALL your brat points giving myself this tight little body and all the popularity you ever craved. Mmmmh and I'm sooooo not done yet. I want more and I want to make you fucking suffer too."
Bella gawped at the triumphant blonde bitch in front of her.
"B...but why? I'm your daughter."
"Hahah not anymore you pathetic reject. I'm your hot bitchy sister now and I fucking despise you. I don't know why, but it's just soooo fucking hot to bully you. The more I do it, the more addictive it feels. And best of all it earns shit loads of brat points. I need to recharge the app and get more points so I can change more stuff."
She pulled out her phone and waved it casually around as she smirked triumphantly. It was the only opening Bella needed.
Bella suddenly rushed at Loren and grabbed the phone off the surprised looking girl. She could end this now with a few pushes of a...
The screen was locked and Loren was laughing.
"Haha, I knew you'd try that. The phone is locked to MY biometrics you dumb bitch AND I added a PIN number to Brat App. You can't access the app without my permission and of course I'm not going to give it."
Loren grabbed her phone back with an almost inhumanely fast reaction and pushed Bella hard. She staggered back and crashed into a table, falling to the floor. Loren towered over her.
"Oh and by the way, if you DO ever try that again, I'll fucking really hurt you. I'm stronger, faster and more powerful than you now."
As if to prove it, she knelt down and pinned Bella's arms behind her back. Bella struggled but it was like being held in metal cuffs. She couldn't even move. Loren giggled as she blew a big wet bubble and then taking her gum pushed it deep into Bella's hair so it tangled and caught in her brown locks.
"This is just the beginning loser. I'm going to take everything from you. No one will even remember the original reality, except you and me. I want you to suffer and making you live in a world that I have created and you can't escape from is gonna be so hot. In fact, lets get started."

Standing up, Loren looked down at the sobbing Bella, her hair sticky with bubblegum and her eyes streaming with tears. "Fuck it makes my pussy so fucking wet to see you cry. I LOVE it," she grinned, her nipples as hard as bullets.
Opening Brat App, she smiled as she saw her points total had risen considerably. But she still needed more and she knew how to get it.
"One way to get points is to reduce another persons attributes into the negative. So if I like open you in the app and for instance reduce your breast size to zero, I'll get some points to spend."
Bella screamed as her chest suddenly ached. Her B cup tits weren't that big anyway. but now they were shrinking! She groaned as she became as flat as a washboard and completely boyish looking.
"And if we drain your ass and hips too, you'll look SOOO much better," gloated Loren as she watched with glee as her sister groaned and lost her womanly curves.
"Hmmm and what's this? A popularity slider? How about we slide you over into the negative. Make you into a complete dork that everyone hates."
"Noooo please don't," screamed Bella but it was too late.
Her body burned and she felt her eyesight blur. Thick bottle top glasses popped over the bridge of her nose as spots broke out all over her once clear skin. Her eyebrows joined in a mono-brow as her hair became greasy and her teeth became wonky and jutting out like a hamster. Her hair became an embarrasing bowl cut with a dorky fringe. She looked like a total loser now.
"Oh my fucking God," laughed Loren, her breathing heavy. She was obviously aroused and towering over her sister she seemed almost orgasmic in her pleasure.
"Fuck yessss, you're pathetic. Look at you, such a fucking dork. Hahahah this is so hawt, I love it. I'm fucking hot and popular and you're a nobody. A FUCKING NOBODY! HAHAHAHA!"
"Mmmmh, I haven't even got started properly yet 'Sis'. This is just the beginning. Get some rest. Tomorrow is a school day and I'm going to have SO much fun in my new body and seeing just how pathetic your life is now."
Bella began to cry even harder and Loren groaned as she got even wetter...
"Fuckkk I could almost cum right now seeing you crawl around on the floor, a pathetic broken dork. Be thankful I haven't made any more changes yet. I could do SO much to ruin your body, but one thing at a time."
"Pleeeease haven't you done enough?" groaned Bella. "Please Loren, have mercy."
Loren giggled.
Bella sobbed. Worse? How could things get worse than this?
Laughing Loren swayed out of the room leaving Bella a broken mess on the floor.
"I can't wait to make things even worse for you LOSER."
Bella didn't know it, but Loren had plenty of ideas how... and she couldn't wait to try them.

coffee beans

desc: barista!ellie hates her job until a cute customer catches her eye and jesse helps her out
a/n: this is my first post, i didn’t lnow wjat to write so i kinda just blurted something out so sorry if this is bad😓 this is extremely cheesy as well, but i like that stuff! i love feedback (not rude) as well <3 also none of the dividers i use are mine, except for the solid colored ones. ill have to find the creator of the really cute ones.. other than that enjoy! <3333 reblogs are welcomed
wc: 1k
PLEASE READ HERE TO HELP PALESTINE.
working in a busy coffee shop, full of bright colors, with people all around, posing for their hopefully viral posts, wasn’t exactly ellie’s “dream job”. the hordes of people that came in during the winter should be illegal. she’d rather be helping people find vinyl’s they’d been searching the markets for, or maybe starting a band straight out of joel’s garage with her close group of friends.
though, she became accustomed to being here. whatever helped her with the stressful expenses she has to pay as a college student.
she rang up the same order that had gained popularity on some app, which felt like the millionth time today. she lets out a sigh, not even looking up, “your total will be 17.20, cash or card?”
“card, please,” your eager voice responds to an unamused barista. that’s when ellie actually looks up. she scans your features, adorned in a little snow, immediately taken aback. her saying you were gorgeous would be an understatement.
she took in your radiant skin, under the annoying glow of the menus above the prep area behind her. and your eyes. they were so captivating and comforting. the way they were all doe made her heart flutter a little, she swears.
you were a lot different than the other girls that came into the shop, all carbon copies of each other. it made her question reality honestly. however, you were different in every aspect. from your style to your energy, she just had to have you.
“o-of course, just tap it here,” ellie clears her throat and spins the payment machine around, looking up at you. you follow her instructions as you notice her hands. they we’re slender and looked fairly cold but so soft, you thought. her short, messy hair was charming. her style that made her look like someone’s grandpa was also very attractive, for some odd reason you felt like a creep being attracted to a worker, who looks like she very much hates her job as is.
“thank you. your order will be done shortly, pretty,” ellie says flashing you a smile. you blink a couple of times, malfunctioning from a compliment you hear quite often. you smile and nod, feeling your face heat up.
as ellie watches you walk off, she jogs to the kitchen in the back. “jesse?” ellie looks around looking for him. “i’m over here ellie, what’s up?” he looks up at her from a drink he was crafting. “can i take out this order please?” ellie shows him the freshly printed receipt. “less work for me? sure,” he says as he continues to to make one of the orders. “yesss,” ellie grabs your order off of the counter next to jesse and heads out of the kitchen.
now taking a seat at booth far off in the corner, you take off your tote bag and rip off your scarf. you look out of the window next to the comfy booth, in awe of the snow falling so gracefully. your attention was stolen by the outside environment, until you felt the presence of someone walking over. you quickly snap your head to the culprit. that culprit being the barista holding your order.
“it’s finished already?” you say, surprised. “well, you could say that..” ellie hands your order over, that had actually been for someone else who ordered before you. she was just really eager to just talk to you. your eyes lit up excitedly, she found that really cute. you take a sip happily.
“your shirt,” you say looking at her torso, “i love that band so much, even though they are newer. their music is very different,” you say, now looking back up at her. “yea, i totally agree,” ellie awkwardly leans on the booth seat opposite to you. truth is, ellie had no idea who this band was. it was just a random shirt she picked up from walmart, honestly.
“um anyways, i like your outfit. not everyday i see someone as stylish as you,” she motions to your cute leg warmers. “really? thank you,” you sort of giggle as you say that. ellie found that cute too, she was so far in.
what ellie thought was going smoothly and definitely not awkward, was interrupted by her coworker.
“ellie, wrap it up. i can’t be working in the back and working the register,” a man with a wolfy haircut says as he grabs ellie’s shoulder.
“jesse, fuck off. i am clearly preoccupied,” ellie’s demeanor quickly changes as she rolls her eyes, turning to him. jesse grabs his heart, looking offended. he was obviously being sarcastic. “i just blessed you and you’re cursing me out?”
“yo- you didn’t bless me.. i’m helping you”
“want me to help you and speed this up?” jesse pulls out a notepad from his tool pouch, hastily writing something down. you hold back from letting out a boisterous laugh from their interaction.
“jesse, the hell are you writing,” she says through gritted teeth, clearly embarrassed. ellie tries to read what he’s written, but jesse is already ripping it out handing you the paper. “jesse, just stop, she’s already paid!” ellie’s eyes widen with anger from annoyance.
“yea i’ve- jesse cuts you off, “don’t worry, just read it,” he flashes you a quick smile as he walks back to the counter.
you read the paper as you slowly smile, then you look up at ellie. you hand her the paper. ellies face immediately turns all fifty shades of red. “god, i hate him sometimes. he’s so.. childish,” ellie says as she balls the paper up, looking away to hide her embarrassment.
“don’t worry, i find you cute too,” you say smiling, looking into her beautiful, jade eyes. ellie laughs awkwardly, inhaling while fixing her posture. she takes a seat opposite of you, “so would you like to go somewhere later, like.. i-i don’t know,” she trails off. “just give me your number and we could talk about it later,” you say while looking at her nervous composure.
“cool,” she looks at you as well, finally relaxing for once. she writes down her number on a napkin that was left on the table and hands it to you. “i’ll see you soon then?” you say, watching her stand from the booth.
“definitely,” flashing you a smirk as she jogs back over to the register.

Charles Leclerc x SchumacherDaughter!
Lila is the youngest of the 3 Schumacher siblings, at 22 shes catching the attention of the public eye. With the new found popularity through Drive to Survive, social media has dubbed her the next ‘it’ girl despite her constant desire for privacy. When her love interest becomes more or less the most sought after man in F1, how will she cope with being the internets fascination? Both Charles and Lila have dealt with immense amounts of loss and trauma, so their mutual understanding for one another fuels their so called ‘friendship’.
Part 2 - no warnings! Filler chapter, slow burn/ start but will start to pick up soon.
From the first time I’d met Charles I knew I’d developed feelings almost instantly. I had always been the the type of girl who caught feelings quickly. Maybe that was a recipe for disaster, wearing my heart on my sleeve, but there wasn’t a single fibre of my body that could prevent it. Not being around the boy was helpful, but the one thing that fuelled the crush even further? Social media, of course.
I had always been private online. All my accounts were locked and I’d never planned on making them public out of the pure fear of gaining too much unwanted attention. That didn’t mean I couldn’t do a stalk however…
I’d find myself laying in bed until stupid hours in the morning for the following week after the Monaco GP, scrolling mindlessly through my searches. The majority of them were amusing- I didn’t seem to worry too much about gaining a hate train online, of course the trolls were there, but keeping as far out of the public eye as possible meant I was semi protected. User: Lila Schumacher sparks relationship rumours with Mercedes driver George Russell, despite him already being in a long term relationship with Carmen Montero Mundt.
I laughed at that one and all the responses telling the reporter to shut the hell up.
User: Charles today with Mick and Lila Schumacher. User: Lila Schumacher makes a rare appearance at the Monaco GP, 28.5.23. User: Lila Schumacher is so beautiful, like her mum, why don’t we see more of her? User: can anybody else see Lila Schumacher being with one of the drivers? Shes so gorgeous I wouldn’t be surprised. ——— > User: she looked to be talking with Charles, he looked v into her so maybe? ——— > User: no not Charles surely? I was thinking she’d be more with somebody like George or Lando.
——— > User: Lila and Charles Leclerc were talking at the Monaco GP, doesn’t mean they’re together but I’d DIE if he looked at me the way he looked at Lila- that’s all I’m saying…
I exited the app after that, deciding I’d read enough, I knew it was stupid to do, but part of me couldn’t help myself. I’d always been a nosy person. So when Mick invited me to come to the Spanish GP, I accepted his offer (much to his surprise). “You’re from Spain? Which part?” I asked Carlos Sainz, whom I’d engaged in a conversation with whilst attempting to find the Ferrari garages before the qualifying. He asked if I wanted leading back to Mercedes but I was trying to find Jean Todt, my God father and dads longtime close friend, so I got a tour from Mr Sainz instead. “Madrid, have you been?”
“Oh yeah, it’s beautiful there, I’ve been a few times…” my eyes glanced up from the floor, gaze landing heavily on the other Ferrari driver now stood in front of me. My breath hitched seeing the surprised looking boy.
“Lila! Hello!” Charles exclaimed, the exact same heart flutter I felt the other week in Monaco had returned. “Hi!” For some reason I was surprised he’d remembered my name, hearing him say it made me feel certain ways. He moved forwards, giving me a quick hug as I clamped my teeth down on my bottom lip so I wouldn’t grin so harshly. “How are you?” I asked. “I am good, I’m good. And you?” Charles was pink in the cheeks, brown eyes practically sparkling in the Spanish sun. He looked like Prince Charming or something out of a fairy tail, I found him intoxicating.
“Good, thank you.” I breathlessly spoke, “you have met Carlotto?” He then grinned as I snapped my attention back up to Carlos with a slight furrow of my brows. “Carlotto?”
“Lord Perceval.” I giggled out at the name now, turning back to Charles who was staring right back to Carlos with a wide eyed expression. “Lord Perceval? Is that a nickname, or?”
“No, no, no!” Charles laughed. “That’s my.. um that’s my middle name. Perceval.” Charles explained as I felt my cheeks beating up, hearing Carlos too giggling along. “Oh!” I exclaimed. “How posh.” I shrugged as he laughed slightly back to me with an uneasy, “yeah.”
“I better go find Jean anyway, has anybody seen him?”
“Oh, Jean? He’s in that way.” Charles pointed towards three different doors. I frowned in confusion. “Charles, show her, your directions are bad.” Carlos pointed out as I giggled nervously.
“It’s okay, I’ll try find him.”
“No, no, I’ll show you.” Charles insisted as I bit back a smile. “Thanks for getting me here anyway.” I thanked Carlos. “It’s ok.” The Spanish man politely smiled. “Chiedile un appuntamento.” Carlos then spoke to Charles as I glanced away, no clue what the hell they were speaking. Italian maybe? It wasn’t French and definitely wasn’t Spanish. When I did look up, Charles was staring back at Carlos wide eyes in a manner as though to say, shut the hell up. I pretended not to notice as Carlos giggled, patting me on the upper back before I began following Charles.
“I think he should be this way. I could be wrong.” Charles stumbled forwards, turning over his shoulder as I caught up besides him. “It’s okay, I don’t need him urgently, I just wanted to say hi.” And say hello to you.
“He is your god father, right?” Charles questioned as I nodded. “Yeah, he’s my dads friend.”
“Ah.” Charles nodded, and for a brief few seconds, I felt a little awkward. I was lost for words, dwelling in my nerves that had appeared now I was semi alone with Charles.
“I think I saw you earlier.” Charles then pointed out. “Oh yeah? Where?”
“Playing tennis at the hotel, I think it was you there? You looked good- at playing tennis I mean, but you did look good as well, merde, it might not have been you.” Charles stammered as I felt myself becoming somewhat breathless again, when he was nervous I felt this warm rush of excitement run through me, but it somehow made me feel nervous too. His compliment made me laugh, realising exactly what he was talking about.
“Yeah that was me, I was playing with another girl?” I tilted my head to look at the smiling boy. I hadn’t seen his smile falter once since seeing him again, I enjoyed the way it would lift up his eyes, the dimples forming in his cheeks and the way his teeth would poke through every now and then.
“Ah, yes it was you.” Charles shyly spoke. “Yeah, I’m not very good. I just like playing.” I grabbed at my blonde hair nervously. “I play too, I am bad.” Charles laughed out. “I’m sure you’re not that bad!” He responded with an uneasy noise.
“I just think you would beat me.” The fact he had noticed me earlier this morning had made me go all red in the face, I felt all giggly and weak in the knees.
“No way, I’m really bad. Trust me, I just play for fun.” I bashfully spoke, thanking him quickly as he opened the door for me. Jean wasn’t in sight ahead of me, so it gave me a little more time with Charles which I was thankful for.
“Me too.” He grinned as I offered him a smile in response, turning to my left to see Jean not too far ahead, sitting down and mid conversation. “Oh, there he is! Thank you for showing me around, I’d be lost without you and Carlos.” I joked, pausing to stand directly across from him now. “It’s ok, it gets confusing in here.” He shrugged as I nodded, going to turn around. “It was nice to see to see you again.” He quickly spoke, causing me to halt my movements and turn up once again. There was a slight height difference between us, I only stood at 5”3, and he was nearing 6 foot, I guessed?
“Yeah you too, if you see me playing tennis again feel free to say hi.” I giggled, shrugging nervously. “I will.” Charles laughed as I timidly broke eye contact, turning to go find Jean. “Oh!” Charles exclaimed again. I turned around.
“I was- we could play tennis maybe? If you would like to?” His words made my heart literally jump and I swear he could see the way my smile tugged up. I was nodding before I even replied, borderline too stunned and shy to speak.
“As long as you let me win you.” I managed to blurt out as he laughed once again, pulling out his phone. “I can probably do that… well you could do that.” He corrected, unlocking his phone and clicking on his phone book.
“Oh.” I perked, pulling out my phone, ensuring to clear any embarrassing messages from my notifications before allowing him to type his number in. It felt like a fever dream, no man had asked for my number before, it was always Snapchat or Instagram first- it felt slightly more… personal? I liked it.
“I will text you.” Charles nodded. “Okay, see you soon, Charles.”
“Bye, Lila…”

lately i have been saying that this fandom just gets worse and worse by the day and honestly it has been. we all know that the lack of stranger things content is making people leave left and right.
everyone is entitled to their own opinions— that’s what should be noted here.
people have left this fandom because of anon hate, being called out for x y z when someone thinks they have dirt on them etc.
it’s fucking tiring.
we are all aware of the “groups” within the fandom and m what was popular last year during this time is no longer and vice versa.
however, shaming people for writing “bimbo” geared smut, only writing smut, or reblogging, commenting etc on smut only— is ridiculous.
block and move along. smut isn’t your thing? that’s totally fine, but shaming others for enjoying it but catering to your friends makes no sense, i’m sorry but ?! cmon.
is it frustrating to spend hours upon hours crafting a fic with words that sing to you our soul and made your own heart flutter just to watch it flop? of course it is. it’s downright frustrating.
but again, what was popular before, is not at the current time and that’s okay. things change and we adjust to it.
that being said, shy! innocent! reader that reads as minor coding (IN MY OPINION) is not okay.
i’m a mother and i have kids, reading verbiage that i’ve quite literally heard out of my own children’s mouths in a smut fic about a character we all love and adore— makes me physically ill.
there are minors on this app who lie about their age (shocking) but these types of fics are gearing towards them and that’s not okay.
DDLG fics in this fandom were also very popular at one time and still are. and do they have similar verbiage? at times? possibly, maybe, yes. it is extremely important to correctly label fics. and people who write DDLG are usually pretty good about it.
we have all made mistakes, fuck you all know i have— i am not perfect in any way shape or form. but this fandom, stranger things, means a lot to me and getting the fucking ick from it makes me feel disgusting.
white coding in fics should not be happening anymore.
plain and simple.
if you make a header —pls refrain from using only skinny, white, women to portray reader unless it is labeled that way.
doing so is alienating everyone who is not a skinny white woman, including but not limited to, POC.
we have all been there and made that mistake, me included—but you learn from it and change your ways. i promise you note count doesn’t go up bc you have molly mae’s dainty body sitting on the lap of on her rocker! bf that is eddie coded.
i have volunteered to make headers for people who struggle with doing so because i genuinely enjoy it. if you would like some help, dm me— i’d be happy to make one for you.
none of us are above learning and changing. we can all do better and should.
i’m around to discuss this in a positive way. if you’re sending hate anon.. peace and grease pal.
your weird friend,
ziggy

Downtown Winter Nights | Bucky Barnes (7th Day of 🎄)

(Credits to the owner of this pic!)
I wrote another little somethin’ for y’all! I hope you enjoy! 🩵
Christmas Masterlist <- check out my other holiday fics!
~~~~
“Well, it’s not called the “Windy City” for nothin’, that’s for sure.” Bucky commented as he wrapped his scarf around his head and covered face. We stepped off of the CTA train and walked hand in hand outside, feeling that familiar cold breeze of downtown Chicago hit our faces. “C’mon, it’s not that bad. You grew up in New York.”
“Doll, it’s colder here than back home. I’m more worried for you.”
“It’s only 39°F. It’spractically 40! That’s considered warm here.”
“Yeah and back home it’s..” he quickly pulled out his phone and opened up the weather app. “.. it’s 48°F.”
“It could’ve been colder. We’ve had worse.”
He shook his head and stopped in his tracks, turning to face me and adjusted my hat to help keep my head warm. “I just don’t want you getting sick, sweetheart.” My heart fluttered as he took off his scarf to put around me, but I held my hand up stopping him. “Bucky, I’ll be fine – I promise. I grew up here, I’m used to the harsh winters.”
“But you haven’t been here in a few years.”
“I know what to expect.” I smiled and grabbed his scarf, reaching up and wrapping it back around him. “Honestly, seeing you without a scarf would make me feel colder, if that somehow makes sense.” I chuckled. “Just wear it. For me?”
He furrowed his eyebrows and pursed his lips, slowly nodding. I smiled and grabbed his scarf, bringing his head down close to mine and planted a kiss on his lips. “C’mon, let’s go check out Millennium Park. That’s where our tree is located.” He smiled and grabbed my hand in his, letting me lead the way.
We passed by so many stores that had beautiful window decorations that made Bucky want to stop for a moment and check them out, just like many other individuals did to admire the work that went into it. I took out my phone and snapped a few photos of him as discreetly as possible before we continued our way and made it to our destination.
There, people stood behind multiple booths selling their goodies to the people of Chicago. Christmas music played and the smell of baked goods wafted through the air, making me excited to try what people are giving away. I stood next to him, linking our arms together as we waited in line to buy ourselves some hot chocolate.
“I bet this booth is gonna end up being the most popular. This is the one way you got to help stay warm.”
He bought two cups and handed me the first one before grabbing his. We walked off and decided to stand (more like lean) against a rail, overwatching people ice skating in the middle of the park. I brought the cup up to my lips and took a small sip of the hot liquid. “Mmm..” I moaned in delight, savoring the taste of chocolate once it hit my tongue. “Yep, this is how they get ya.” I chuckled. “Once I finish this, I’m gonna want another.”
“Told you.” He laughed and took a sip of his drink. I held the cup in my hands and softly smiled to myself. I’ve been wanting to show Bucky my hometown ever since we got together and what better way to show him than during the holidays. I used to come here when I was younger with my family and we’d just walk around at night and admire the city lights.
Sure, it’s been some time since I’ve done this, but it still feels and looks the same. I heard the snap of a camera and looked up at Bucky, noticing he had his phone in his free hand with a grin on his face. “Smile!”
I laughed and shook my head, covering my face with my other hand as he continued snapping photos of me. “Nooo! I bet I look ridiculous! Delete them!”
“Doll, you’re the prettiest thing I’ve ever seen! You took photos of me. Seems only fair I do the same.”
“You noticed?”
“I did, now smile for me baby.”
I giggled and brought my hand in front of me and puckered my lips, as if blowing a kiss to the camera. “Beautiful.” He looked down at his phone and scrolled through the photos, admiring his work. “I really love this one.” He stopped on the picture of me smiling down at my hot chocolate. “You look cute.” I felt my cheeks heat up with affection towards this man I get to call mine.
“C’mon, let’s go check out that 45 foot tree you’ve been dying to see.” He smiled as I linked our arms together once again and followed him to the biggest tree in the park. People of all ages stood around it taking all kinds of photos. I reached into my pocket and pulled out my phone,swiping to get to the camera and asked a random person I could find to take a photo of me and Bucky.
They nodded and grabbed my phone, getting ready into position to take a picture. He wrapped his arm around my back and pulled me close to him, while my hand held up the cup of hot chocolate. We both smiled as the flash went off on my phone, snapping a picture.
“Here you go!” They walked towards me and handed me back my device. “Thank you so much!” I quickly went to photos to look at the picture as Bucky walked up to me. “How’d it turn out?” I smiled at him and put my phone back in my pocket.
“Perfect.”
He smiled back at me and turned to his side, something immediately catching his attention.
“Hey, doll?”
“Yeah?”
“Can you get us some food? I just gotta go do somethin’ real quick, I promise. I’ll be right back.” I nodded my head as he quickly reached into his pocket and pulled out a $20 from his wallet and handed it to me. “Go nuts, baby.” He smiled and began walking away. “Where are you going?”
He walked backwards so he could face me and still go to wherever it is he’s planning. “Can’t tell you yet. You’ll find out.” He winked and then he was gone before I could question him further. I looked down at my hot chocolate and drank the last of whatever was left inside. The cups aren’t that big anyway, so it wasn’t a lot. Once that was done, I threw it away in a bin nearby and sighed.
I just shook my shoulders and glanced around the many booths before finding what I was looking for and quickly stood in front of the man selling one of Chicago’s most talked about dishes. Since we’re in the Windy City, I figured he should at least try the all famous Chicago hot dog. A poppy seed bun, mustard, relish, chopped onions, tomatoes, peppers, a cucumber spear and just a dash of celery salt – mmm! There isn’t anything better!
“Thank you! Have a good night!” The man spoke as he handed me back my change so I could put it away. I grabbed the two hot dogs and smiled. “Thank you – you too!” I walked away and took a moment to look at where Bucky went, but couldn’t find him. I walked until I found a bench to sit down on as I waited for him. I felt like I looked like a complete fatass right now. Here I am, with two hot dogs in my hands and one of them already being bit into.
“Hey!” I heard Bucky call out to me as he found me and sat down on the bench. He leaned in and kissed my cheek as I smiled against him and handed him his hot dog. “Thank you.” He took it from my hands as I turned my body towards his as he took a bite out of his food.
“Where did you go?” I asked. “Mmm… I uh..” He chewed his food and licked his top lip as he pointed behind me. “.. Saw somethin’ real cool…” I tried to look at where he motioned to, before he shook his head and lifted his hand to my face. His fingers softly gripped my chin and turned my attention back towards him.
“Uh – uh, let’s just finish this first. I don’t want you to try to figure it out before I show you.” He smiled and took another bite of his hot dog as I let out a chuckle. We sat there watching as people continued to crowd the tree and take photos. With each bite, my mind continued to wonder about whatever “cool” thing he saw. What could he have seen that I didn’t?
I know I haven’t been here in a while, but was there something different that I just didn’t notice before? Did the city of Chicago add somethin’ new since I’ve been gone? Most likely, if I’m being honest. It is a city.
“I know your head is just racing with what my little surprise could be.” He laughed and scrunched up the wrapper in his hands, finished with his food. “Once you finish eating, then we’ll – ” I plopped the last bit of hot dog into my mouth and scrunched up the wrapper.
He just looked at me with an amused smile as I dusted off my hands and swallowed the last remaining bit of food in my mouth. “Done.”
“Damn little lady, you sure can put it away.” I laughed and playfully hit his shoulder. “Shut up.” He stood up and held his hand out for me to take. I slid my hand in his as he lifted me up and grabbed my garbage along with his and threw it away in the trash bin. “Alright..” he tilted his head to the side as if to say ‘let’s go’. “Follow me.”
He grabbed my hand in his and led me out into the streets of Chicago. There, a few feet away, a horse carriage waited to take its next passengers on a trip. I slowed down for a moment as he looked back at me, his smile not leaving his face.
“You didn’t..”
He nodded.
“I did.”
I bit my lip to try to stop the smile forming on my face as he led us both to the carriage. He held up his phone to show he had purchased a ticket and the man in the front seat nodded. “Hop in.”
I stepped inside and sat down on the seats, Bucky following right after me as he sat next to me. We got ourselves comfortable and then we were off. The stomping of the horses hooves hitting the streets of Chicago echoed as the city lights twinkled in the night sky.
“What do ya think, sweetheart? You like it?” He asked as I smiled and nodded my head. “I love it!” He cuddled up closer to me and wrapped his arm around my shoulders, my hand instantly reached up so I could intertwine our fingers together. “This was so unbelievably sweet of you to do this.”
“Anything for my best girl.” He leaned in and kissed my temple. “You know I love surprising you.” I looked up at him and noticed a little white flurry had landed on top of his head, a telltale sign indicating that it had started to snow.
“And here it comes. It’s gonna be a bitch to get home now.”
I laughed and snuggled up to him. “Ahh, we’ll be okay. It’s not fat snow.” The view almost looked like I had ripped it out of a Hallmark movie with how slowly the snow was falling and the Christmas lights hung on every street corner. He lifted himself up a bit and reached into his pocket, pulling out his phone.
He opened the camera app and held it up so we could both be seen on the screen. “Can you please smile for the camera, baby?” I looked up and smiled widely as he snapped a photo. He leaned down and kissed my cheek as I let out a laugh, thus resulting in him taking another. After a few more, we decided we were done for the night and he put his phone back into his pocket.
“You know, I gotta say, I’m really happy you brought me here.” He smiled down at me. “Really?” he nodded and glanced up at the twinkling lights. “Even though it is 39°F and it’s colder here than it is back home.. but all things considered though, I had a lot of fun tonight.”
“I did too.”
Once our carriage ride was came to a stop, we both knew it was over. We looked around and noticed we were right back where we first started. Bucky hopped off first and quickly turned around and stretched his hand out towards me to help me climb off. “Such a gentleman.” I took his hand as he helped me down.
“I can’t have you accidentally falling on my watch.” He laughed as I playfully rolled my eyes as we began walking away. “Hey, that was one time. That extra step on the stairs had it out for me.”
“Oh, of course it did, sweetheart. That’s why you had Tony install rails.”
“I’m your damsel in distress. I need my knight in shining armor to catch me and if you’re not there, my rails will be.”
“Well, not all rails are trustworthy. Someone even break apart and let you fall..” I gasped and hit his shoulder. “I thought we said no trauma dumping this week!”
“Sorry! Sorry, I forgot!”
What is the Best Mobile Application Development Framework, Flutter, or React Native?
As an ever-increasing number of individuals are accepting modernized innovation in technology, the interest in mobile applications has expanded step by step.
Hybrid mobile frameworks are acquiring prevalence. The presence of React Native (RN) in 2015 opened astounding chances to assemble applications for iOS and Android utilizing one codebase. Thus, it permitted us to solve two problems at once and not rework a similar code two times. Large firms like UberEats, Discord, and Facebook moved to React Native, a powerful promotion.
Google didn’t stand separated; they saw the immense popularity of RN. Subsequently, Google presented an alpha version of its hybrid framework called Flutter in 2017. Flutter likewise turned into an extremely famous framework. The improvement of a framework like React Native prompts confusion over what to decide for hybrid mobile app development:
React Native or Flutter? Nonetheless, there’s another significant inquiry which you ought to choose before this: Is it better to develop a hybrid or native mobile apps?
Both cross- platform application has its upsides and downsides and prevalence
Flutter
Flutter is an open-source mobile application development Software tool sh that has design & created by Google. It had its main release in May 2017. Flutter has composed into the C, C++, Dart, and Skia Graphics Engine. Flags have been created by Google. Creating Android and Android applications is additionally utilized. The SDK is free and sent off as a source designer to explore and make strong, powerful applications around.
Why choose to Flutter for Android and iOS mobile application development?
Cross-platform
High compatibility with programming languages
Faster and improved native performance
Appealing UI
Accessible SDKs and native features
The functional and reactive framework
React Native
React Native is a structural framework made by Facebook that permits us to foster local mobile applications for iOS and Android with a solitary JavaScript codebase.
React native is a genuine mobile application, additionally open-source application development system which is created by Facebook. Rouse that ideas should be created on the web for mobile development. Reactive native is accustomed to making iOS and Android applications. IT was delivered in March 2015. In such a manner, JavaScript is created. Notwithstanding, the application appearance is by all accounts a native app.
Why choose to React Native forAndroid and iOS app development?
Seamless and synchronous API
Seamless and synchronous API
Quick performance
Greater reach
Which is Better: Flutter or React Native?
Flutter ranks positions higher with 75.4% and React Native likewise cut with 62.5% among most cherished frameworks.
Both Flutter and React Native are famous and exceptionally used by the application developers for the development of cross-platform applications. Every single one of them has their one-of-a-kind upsides and downsides, stability in development, speed, and much more.
Flutter is a new framework, and it is expanding and growing slowly and gradually. Compared to Flutter, React Native is in the industry for a long time now. Hence, it is mature enough that leading brands have experienced its benefits of it. While Flutter is yet to have such strong case studies.
As for, "replicating the patterns" part, here is a concrete example of it in action:
For context:
All of "MAUI", "React Native" and "Flutter" are three entirely different GUI frameworks, that is, tools which you can use to create graphical applications for smartphones. In particular, the entire user interface in Discord mobile app is made using React Native.
React Native exists since around 2015
Flutter exists since around 2017, and uses the Dart language, which is not very commonly used, and in fact, the only people I know that use Dart, they use it because they want to use Flutter.
MAUI exists since around 2021, and uses the C# language. 2021 happens to be very close to the cutoff date of what ChatGPT "known" around the time this query was done.
MAUI also happens to be way less popular than both React Native and Flutter
End result: ChatGPT confidently says that MAUI uses Dart language because it if it's not React Native then it clearly must be Flutter.
Bottom line: Do not use ChatGPT as an expert system. Companies that do that actually feed GPT with information beforehand. You don't.
Flutter’s community is passionate and rapidly expanding as well, creating an environment ripe for collaboration and innovation.
Performance and Speed: Which Is Faster?
When it comes to performance, both Flutter and React Native have their strengths. Flutter apps typically boast superior speed due to the Dart language’s ability to compile directly into native code. This can lead to snappier animations and quicker load times.
React Native, on the other hand, uses a bridge between JavaScript and native components. While this allows for great flexibility, it may introduce some latency in performance during complex operations or heavy UI interactions.
In 2025, as applications demand more from mobile devices, every millisecond counts. For developers seeking high-performance solutions, Flutter stands out with its efficient rendering engine.
React Native continues to evolve too; enhancements are regularly made that improve speed and responsiveness. Yet for projects where performance is paramount—especially those targeting graphics-heavy experiences—Flutter often takes the lead in benchmarks.
Development Experience and Learning Curve
When diving into development, the learning curve can make or break a framework for many.
Flutter is known for its intuitive design. Developers often appreciate its single codebase approach. With Dart as the programming language, those familiar with JavaScript might find it somewhat easy to adapt. The hot reload feature enhances productivity by allowing real-time updates during coding.
On the other hand, React Native leverages JavaScript’s widespread popularity. Many developers already possess skills in this language, making onboarding smoother. The component-based architecture lets programmers build reusable UI components efficiently.
However, managing native modules can be tricky in React Native. Newcomers may face challenges when integrating existing apps or third-party libraries.
Choosing between these frameworks depends on your background and project needs. Each offers unique benefits that cater to different developer experiences and preferences.
UI Components and Customization Capabilities
UI components play a crucial role in mobile app development. Both Flutter and React Native offer rich libraries that simplify this process.
Flutter is renowned for its extensive collection of pre-designed widgets. These can be customized to create unique user experiences effortlessly. The hot reload feature allows developers to see changes instantly, enhancing creativity.
On the other hand, React Native emphasizes flexibility through third-party libraries. While it has fewer built-in components than Flutter, its customizable nature allows developers to craft intricate designs using JavaScript.
Design consistency is vital across platforms. Flutter shines here with Skia graphics engine, ensuring smooth visuals on both Android and iOS devices. React Native relies on native components which may lead to slight differences between platforms but offers seamless integration with existing codebases.
Choosing between them often boils down to project needs and personal preference in UI design approaches.
Platform Support and Integration Options
When considering platform support, both Flutter and React Native shine in different areas. Flutter stands out with its ability to create beautiful apps for iOS, Android, web, and desktop from a single codebase. This versatility allows developers to target multiple platforms without compromising on quality or performance.
On the other hand, React Native leverages JavaScript’s popularity. It offers seamless integration with existing native applications. Developers can build cross-platform apps while still tapping into native features when needed.
Both frameworks have robust libraries that facilitate third-party integrations too. Whether you need payment gateways or social media logins, you’ll find plenty of solutions in their ecosystems.
However, development teams should consider the long-term implications of these choices as new technologies emerge and user preferences shift continuously across devices.
Cost, Maintenance, and Long-Term Viability
When evaluating Flutter and React Native, cost is a crucial factor. Both frameworks have their unique financial implications. Hiring a freelance Flutter mobile app developer might be more economical if you need cross-platform solutions without compromising quality.
React Native often has an edge in terms of community resources, which can reduce costs. A freelance react mobile app developer may leverage existing libraries to speed up development and save money on custom coding.
Maintenance plays a vital role in long-term viability. Flutter’s growing ecosystem suggests stability for future updates and support. Meanwhile, React Native benefits from its backing by Facebook, ensuring continued improvements.
Choosing between these two also involves considering your team’s expertise and the project’s specific needs. The right framework should align with your goals while providing sustainable maintenance options as technology evolves over time.
Choosing the Best Framework for 2025
As 2025 approaches, selecting the right framework is critical for mobile app development. Both Flutter and React Native bring unique advantages that cater to different project needs.
Consider your target audience. If you aim for a rich user experience across platforms, Flutter’s extensive widget library may be beneficial. It allows for stunning design customizations that can captivate users.
On the other hand, if you’re looking at rapid deployment with existing web technologies, React Native might be more suitable. Its component-based architecture allows developers to leverage their JavaScript skills effectively.
Also think about community support and resources available. A robust community can provide valuable insights and tools that ease development challenges.
Evaluate your long-term strategy as well. Will you need frequent updates? How important is platform compatibility down the road? These factors play a crucial role in determining which framework aligns best with your goals for 2025.
3. Xamarin
Xamarin is another key player in the cross-platform mobile development arena. Owned by Microsoft, Xamarin allows developers to write apps in C# and .NET, offering a powerful, scalable solution for building apps across iOS, Android, and Windows platforms. Xamarin enables the reuse of code for different platforms while providing tools for high-performance apps with near-native user experiences.
With Xamarin, developers can access platform-specific APIs, libraries, and features to create apps with native performance and user interfaces. It also integrates seamlessly with Visual Studio, making it an attractive option for developers who are already familiar with Microsoft’s development environment.
4. Ionic
Ionic is an open-source framework that leverages web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build cross-platform mobile apps. Unlike other frameworks that rely on native UI components, Ionic uses a combination of web views and native device APIs to create apps that feel like native apps on both Android and iOS.
One of Ionic's primary strengths is its vast library of pre-built UI components, which makes it easier for developers to design user-friendly interfaces. Additionally, Ionic's integration with Apache Cordova allows for access to device hardware and native features like GPS, camera, and file system. This makes Ionic an excellent choice for web developers looking to extend their skills into mobile app development.
The Benefits of Cross-Platform Development
The rise of cross-platform development frameworks has several advantages that make them appealing to developers and businesses alike. The most notable benefits include:
Cost Efficiency: Building separate native apps for iOS and Android is time-consuming and costly. Cross-platform frameworks enable developers to write code once and deploy it on multiple platforms, which reduces the overall development time and cost.
Faster Time to Market: With a shared codebase, developers can deliver products to market faster, gaining a competitive edge in the industry.
Maintenance Simplicity: Maintaining a single codebase for multiple platforms is easier than managing separate codebases. Updates and bug fixes are implemented faster, reducing the complexity of maintenance.
Unified User Experience: Cross-platform frameworks provide tools to create consistent and smooth user experiences across multiple platforms, enhancing the app’s usability and customer satisfaction.
Managing Mobile App Development Costs
While cross-platform development offers numerous benefits, businesses must still consider the cost implications of app development. The initial development cost may be lower compared to native development, but it’s important to factor in long-term expenses such as updates, bug fixes, and new feature integrations.
Using a mobile app cost calculator can help businesses estimate the total cost of building their app, considering factors such as complexity, design, development time, and ongoing maintenance. This tool helps both developers and businesses make informed decisions about the resources required for the project and manage their budgets accordingly.
