My favorite part of the west end revival of Next to Normal (other than how Caissie Levy protrayed Diana's mania. That kiss.) is that, while Gabe still is the antagonist, he comes off as less angry and more sad. Like a child who just wants to be loved and remembered. And is willing to do anything to get that attention after being denied.

His flinch back from Diana during "You Dont Know/ I am the One" gets me every time. How he curls into his mum every scene. The regret after his mum's attempt. Cheers to Jack Wolfe's facial expressions because they're truly heartbreaking. He protrayed that sadness beautifully. But my favorite bit will always be the reprise of "I am the One" where he reaches out for his father. Who knew he was there the whole time. Who refused to acknowledge him, to grieve him, to remember him. And how we get that hopeful ended by finally letting him in, embracing that sadness but working through it

his first name is aneurin. I saw ppl hc his name as anthony and while I respect that I think he'd probably be more likely to have a welsh name so yeah 👍 definitely did not nick it off the founder of the nhs (←lying) 👍

he's a really good hugger although sometimes he squeezes a bit too hard with the metal arm and nearly cracked griffin's ribs once.

I do think he was just born without his arm like there's no traumatic fire incident behind it he's just always had a stump.

if he was an animal he would be a dog, specifically an irish setter (begging you to read the wikipedia article, especially the temperament section bc it fits so well)

his bffs are flowers and pennebrygg!!! they all joined around the same time and so they kind of bonded by virtue of being the three new kids. pennebrygg and flowers also worked together to build his prosthetic, pennebrygg did the machinery work and flowers coded it to be able to move as naturally as possible.

he does know quite a bit of welsh but he can't speak it with many people- usually he speaks it with arthur or jekyll.

he has two sisters, one older and one younger.
