with james ford’s health diagnosis, i really don't see arctic monkeys releasing any music until 2026 or later. even if they choose another producer, i think the band (alex especially) trusts james so deeply and values his input on their records that they would want his presence on the next album in some way.
#of course james' health is the priority and i hope he makes a strong recovery#but knowing how much of a perfectionist alex is & how much he appreciates having james as a guide to push him or tell him when to step back#-i can't see the band releasing an album without james being involved in some way#i know in his ig caption he said he had to put current projects on hold and other producers will have to take them over#and i don't get the sense that the band get particular pressure from their label or management to push out a record quickly#they know fans will wait and be happy once the band is happy with whatever they choose to work on#it makes me a little sad to think we likely won't get anything new until next year (or later!) but i will patiently wait#and this is just my musing and speculation. you never know what’s gonna happen do ya?#arctic monkeys

Someone fuckin save me I am so so so so tired
#speculation nation#just got done with orchestra. gotta get home and eat then get back to work on my website stuff#i can do it im fairly sure. i am just. so so so so so so tired#the kind of desperately tired where even just having my eyes open is a chore#i might... need to take a little nap or something. i dont know. rest my eyes for an hour or two.#i dont have much time but i feel like my brain is about to melt out of my ears#and at least i finished my header and footer stuff for my html pages#i just gotta put the content in. which has already been made. just gotta. figure out formatting.#and class is canceled tomorrow morning so i can sleep in. i just need to get through the last of this project. then i can rest a bit.#of course then i have a presentation on thursday but at least ive already organized that#so i just need to do my slide(s) and make sure everyone else has done theirs#since i went and appointed myself unofficial leader and organized the damn work allotment for everyone#since Someone had to do it. i gave it 3 days and no one did anything so i went ahead and did it myself.#that at least can wait until after class tomorrow ish. at the very least.#maybe i can do my dishes in the morning tomorrow. i dont think im gonna manage it today either.#but that begs the question of what the fuck im doing for dinner today. i have... two clean spoons. bc i washed them yesterday#i washed a bowl a fork and two spoons yesterday. i had none clean before. i have no clean bowls again.#my soul fuckin screaming for the love of god help me. ive got no clean dishes and im so desperately tired#and i have to finish making 6 web pages before midnight or im !!!!!!FUCKED!!!!!!#for now.. i just need to focus on getting home... i get home and then i'll figure Something out for food.....#ugh.......

refuge visitors apparently rlly like my pressed flower art and so the volunteers who work in the visitors center wanted me to make a little blurb about it but I can't Say it's for pride month so I tried to be vague and subtle with my wording but apparently the word "diversity", even when technically referring to plants, is too much. so now we have to try and find a way to say the same thing w/o being too "on the nose". and I know there's like bigger issues happening in the world right now but the whole thing does make my chest hurt a little

oh god i think phd apps are actually going to be the death of me
#i Do Not have enough time to overhaul these essays lmao. god above.#one of the schools wants 2 20 page essays and i have. a 9 and a 12.#so i have to Do More Research for papers i've already finished *on top of* the 3 other projects (one of which is a 10k word essay)#by december 1.#i'm barely keeping up as-is.#i'm so stressed. the essays were only short bc the profs had low word count requirements/specifically wanted 8 page papers#bc it was geared to be a conference presentation! ugh!#so now I have to overhaul Everything and i'm suffering and stressed and upset#bc i don't want to be out of school again. but also. i can't keep up with my regular work load#(i want to fight the advisor i listened to who told me that acutally i could handle *3* doctoral courses at once as a master's student.#this just in: i cannot. i actively feel like i am on fire. i am having a bad semester.#and i have to have a bad semester while trying to apply to school! bc i have told everyone i want to do it!#and i do want to do it!#but also! i want to scream and cry and vanish into the woods never to be seen again bc i hate everything! agh!!!!!!!!!!#i shouldn't have listened to my advisor when she went 'yeah 2 8000 level courses and a 9000 should be fine. you'll manage'#ma'am i now spend 80% of my energy trying not to die. i will not manage.

This morning I unpacked my new sewing machine! After staring for half an hour and feeling like such an adult, I taught myself how to wind & place a bobbin and how to thread the machine. I practiced for a bit on some scrap pieces of fabric as well :)
I had to search online for an English manual and video instructions, because the machine came with a Russian manual? (no clue why) @solarcow105 named the machine Ivan, after its Russian roots
