Prince and the Revolution - “Let’s Go Crazy” (1984)
Forty years ago, on July 18, 1980, “Let’s Go Crazy,” the second single from album Purple Rain by Prince and the Revolution, was released. The lead song on both the album and film Purple Rain, the song became Prince’s second number one hit, following “When Doves Cry” that had only been released two months earlier. Following Prince’s death in 2016, the song re-charted, peaking at number 25.
