Một nông dân chăn dê họ Yao đến từ Bồng Lai, huyện An Khê, Phúc Kiến, bắt gặp con trăn Miến Điện dài 3 m nuốt chửng một con dê trong đàn gần trang trại phía đông Trung Quốc. Yao gọi cho cơ quan lâm nghiệp địa phương hôm 16/6 để nhờ họ mang con trăn đi.

Trong video, con trăn Miến Điện ẩn náu trong bụi rậm tranh thủ nuốt chửng xác dê nặng gần 14 kg. Yao cho biết ông chỉ nhìn thấy chân sau của con dê thò ra sau khi nó chết ngạt và bị trăn ăn thịt. Tuy nhiên, do trăn Miến Điện nằm trong danh mục động vật được bảo vệ cấp 1, ông không thể giết hay làm hại nó.

Sau khi nhận thông tin, các nhân viên cứu hỏa nhanh chóng có mặt và phát hiện con trăn đã nhả xác dê. Nhiều khả năng con vật cảm thấy bị quấy rầy và vội vàng bỏ lại bữa ăn để dễ dàng thoát thân dưới suối. Dù vậy, đội cứu hộ vẫn bắt được nó và cho vào bao tải để thả về tự nhiên ngày hôm sau.

Trăn thường mất nhiều tuần để tiêu hóa thức ăn, nhưng những con trăn lớn không có nọc độc sẽ nôn ra xác con mồi khi bị căng thẳng hoặc cần chạy trốn. Việc giết hại hoặc bắt giữ trăn là hành vi phạm pháp theo luật bảo vệ động vật nguy cấp của Trung Quốc. Thợ săn trộm và buôn bán trăn có thể đối mặt với mức án 10 n��m tù giam.

Trăn Miến Điện (Python molurus bivittatus) nằm trong số 6 loài rắn lớn nhất thế giới, là loài bản địa ở nhiều vùng nhiệt đới và bán nhiệt đới tại Đông Nam Á. Chúng rất giỏi bơi lội và trèo cây. Trăn Miến Điện sử dụng hàm răng sắc nhọn cong ngược về sau để ngoạm mồi, sau đó quấn chặt cơ thể và dùng cơ bắp siết chết mục tiêu. Chúng chuyên săn chim và động vật có vú nhỏ. 9- ہنڈورا کا دودھیا سانپ Handuran Milk Snake (Lampropeltis triangulum hondurensis) یہ ایک لمبا اور غیر زہریلا سانپ ہے جس کا تعلق سانپوں کی فیملی Colubridae سے ہے۔ یہ ایک عام پالتو سانپ کے طور پر بھی جانا جاتا ہے۔ اس کی جسام�� 5 فٹ تک ہو سکتی ہے۔ یہ سانپ شمال مشرقی کوسٹا ریکا میں پایا جاتا ہے۔

8-ٹیکساس کا سفید چوہا سانپ Leucistic Texas Rat Snake (Elaphe obsoleta lindheimeri ) امریکی ریاست ٹیکساس میں پایا جانے والا یہ چوہا سانپ عام طور پر بھورا ہوتا ہے لیکن ان میں کچھ سانپ سفید رنگ کے بھی پیدا ہوجاتے ہیں۔ چونکہ یہ ایک غیر زہریلا سانپ ہے اس لئے بہت سے لوگ اس سفید سانپ کو پالتے بھی ہیں۔ اس کی لمبائی 4 سے 5 فٹ تک ہو سکتی ہے۔ یہ عام طور پر کاٹتا نہیں لیکن اگر اسے اشتعال دلایا جائے تو یہ کاٹ بھی سکتا ہے جس سے معمولی زخم ہو جاتا ہے۔ اس کو چوہا سانپ اس لئے کہتے ہیں کیونکہ اس کی خوراک میں زیادہ تر چوہے شامل ہوتے ہیں لیکن یہ چوہوں کے علاوہ چھوٹے پرندے، مینڈک اور چھپکلیاں وغیرہ بھی کھا جاتا ہے۔

7-ایمرالڈ ٹری بووا Emerald Tree Boa (Corallus caninus) ایمرالڈ ٹری بووا درختوں پر رہنے والا ایک غیر زہریلا سانپ ہے جو اپنے شکار کو دم گھوٹ کر ہلاک کرتا ہے۔ یہ سانپ براعظم جنوبی امریکہ کے امیزون کے بارشی جنگل میں پایا جاتا ہے۔ ان کی جسامت 6 فٹ تک ہو سکتی ہے۔ یہ پرندوں اور چھپکلیوں کا شکار کرتا ہے۔

 6-شیلڈ ٹیل سانپ Iridescent Sheildtail Snake (Melanophidium bilineatum) دنیاں کا چھٹا خوبصورت ترین سانپ یہ سانپ دنیا میں صرف برصغیر میں پایا جاتا ہے۔ یہ بہت کم پایا جانے والا سانپ ہے جس کے بارے میں زیادہ معلومات میسر نہیں۔ یہ پاکستان کے جنوبی علاقوں بالخصوص گوادر اور ہنگول نیشنل پارک میں پایا جاتا ہے۔ بھارت میں یہ زیادہ تر مغربی گھاٹ کے جنگلوں میں پایا جاتا ہے۔

 5- ایمیلینسٹک برمیز پائتھن Amelanistic Burmese Python (Python molurus bivittatus) برمیز پائتھن کا شمار دنیا کے چھے بڑے سانپوں میں ہوتا ہے۔ یہ سانپ انسان کو سالم نگل جانے کی صلاحیت بھی رکھتا ہے۔ اس کا آبائی وطن برما، تھائی لینڈ اور ملائشیا وغیرہ ہے لیکن یہ اب کئی طریقوں سے امریکہ تک پہنچنے میں کامیاب ہوگیا ہے۔ امریکہ کی ریاست فلوریڈا میں ان سانپوں کی کثیر تعداد موجود ہے۔ ویسے تو یہ سانپ کا رنگ سرخ اور کالے پیٹرنز پر مشتمل ہوتا ہے لیکن اس میں ایک قسم کے البینو سانپ بھی کبھی کبھار پیدا ہوجاتے ہیں۔ ان سانپوں کا رنگ گہرا پیلا ہوتا ہے جو دیکھنے میں بہت خوبصورت لگتا ہے۔ کچھ لوگ برمیز پائتھن کو پالتو سانپ کے طور پر پالتے بھی ہیں۔ لیکن اس کو پالنا خطرناک ہو سکتا ہے۔ یہ اپنے مالک پر بھی کسی وقت حملہ آور ہوسکتا ہے۔

 4-برازیل کا قوس قزح والاسانپ Brazilian Rainbow Snake (Epicrates cenchria) یہ خوبصورت سانپ صرف وسطی امریکہ اور براعظم جنوبی امریکہ میں پایا جاتا ہے۔ اس کے جسم پر موجود مختلف رنگ دیکھنے میں بہت بھلے لگتے ہیں۔ یہ ایک غیر زہریلا سانپ ہے جسے کچھ لوگ گھروں میں پالتے بھی ہیں۔ یہ سانپ مصنوعی ماحول میں بھی بریڈ کر لیتا ہے۔ آج کل اس نوع کے زیادہ تر سانپ جو بازاروں میں بکتے ہیں وہ گھروں میں پیدا شدہ ہوتے ہیں۔ شروع شروع میں اس سانپ کے کاٹنے کا بہت ڈر رہتا ہے لیکن جیسے جیسے یہ ہاتھوں کا عادی ہوتا جاتا ہے تو پھر یہ بہت کم کاٹتا ہے۔

 3-مشرقی کوڑھیالہ سانپ Eastern Coral Snake (Micrurus fulvius) مشرقی کورل سانپ، سانپوں کی فیملی Elapidae سے تعلق رکھنے والا ایک انتہائی زہریلا سانپ ہے۔ یہ سانپ صرف جنوب مشرقی ریاست ہائے متحدہ امریکہ میں پایا جاتا ہے۔ ایک دوسرا سانپ جسے سکارلٹ سانپ کہتے ہیں اس سانپ سے بہت ملتا جلتا ہے لیکن وہ زہریلا نہیں ہوتا۔ حیاتیات میں اس مظہر کو mimicry کہتے ہیں۔ مشرقی کوڑھیالے سانپ پر کالے، سرخ اور پیلے رنگ کی دھاریاں ہوتی ہیں۔ اس کا زہر نیوروٹاکسک ہوتا ہے جو مرکزی نظام اعصاب پر حملہ کرتا ہے۔ یہ سانپ امریکہ میں ہر سال تقریباً 100 لوگوں کو کاٹتا ہے۔

 2-نیلا دوڑنے والا سانپ Blue Racer Snake (Coluber constrictor foxii) اس سانپ کا تعلق سانپوں کی فیملی Colubridae سے ہے۔ یہ ایک غیر زہریلا سانپ ہے جو ریاست ہائے متحدہ امریکہ کے گھاس کے میدانوں میں پایا جاتا ہے۔ اس سانپ کی مادہ 15 تک انڈے دیتی ہے جن سے نکلنے والے زیادہ تر سانپ اپنی زندگی کے پہلے سال ہی مختلف جانوروں کا شکار بن جاتے ہیں۔

دنیا کا سب سے خوبصورت سانپ گرین ٹری پائتھن Green Tree Python (Morelia viridis) یہ ایک غیر زہریلا سانپ ہے جو آسٹریلیا اور نیوگنی میں پایا جاتا ہے۔ اس کا رنگ چمکدار سبز ہوتا ہے۔ اس کی لمبائی 2 میٹر اور وزن 1.6 کلوگرام تک ہو سکتا ہے۔ مادائیں نروں کی نسبت بھاری ہوتی ہیں۔ یہ عام طور پر درختوں پر رہتا ہے جہاں یہ چھپکلیوں اور پرندوں کا شکار کرتا ہے۔ کچھ لوگ اس کو پالتو سانپ کے طور پر پالتے بھی ہیں۔

Burmese python Python molurus bivittatus

Though plentiful in captivity in the wild these animals are considered vulnerable due to recent human invasion & hunting efforts.

A gigantic snake and one of the true apex predators in the world . The Burmese Python. Native to South East Asian such as Thailand,Cambodia,Vietnam,India. Though recently they have become an invasive species in Florida.

Capable of growing to gigantic sizes such as record hitting 5 metres.  These snakes are distinguished by their many blotches in black & brown running down their body, however in captivity they have been bred to many more different morphs such as  burnt orange,butterscotch yellow, white, green  to name a few.  These giants are nonvenomous snakes but are in no means “friendly” or “safe” animals. Killing their prey through constricting by wrapping their huge, heavy & muscular bodies around and crushing them underneath before consumption. Normally hunting at night allows them the advantage of ambush predator, hiding in the undergrowth or at waters edge ready to strike at a moments notice.  Like most snakes they are solitary animals except when it comes to breeding season in the early spring  around March & April. Unlike most Mother snakes that lay the eggs and be on their way, these are one of the few protective Mothers who remain with the eggs until they hatch ,wrapping her body aroud the eggs and using her body as a way temperature gauge.

Pythons have a Tube like body which fits all their vital organs inside! To do this the organs overlap each other and take up a significant part of the snakes length of body.

Snakes generally move using S shaped to propel themselves around,  anchoring & pushing the body forward to perform the slither . The reason they can do this is because their scales are attached have a set of muscles attached to ribs . They run diagonally across each other, to the scales and when the snake moves lifts the scales to move forward. Basically means when one muscle moves forward, the opposite one contracts to push the the body forward.

These scales overlap each other and has skin  that is just underneath the scales which allows for greater flexibility for activities such as moving around on land, swimming & stretching it's belly to eat. This particularly helps for their jaws which is separate unlike ours and they have the ability to move them independently. Not only that but unlike ours they have another bone also on the lower jaw increasing their flexibility of opening their jaw even further. Having two rows of teeth, the  inside row of teeth does the “walking” for the mouth to swallow the animal's  . Which leads to the next point that these giants actually have a scuba like organ that pops out when they are consuming a meal allowing them to continually breathe.

All snakes use their forked tongue to communicate with the world by picking up chemicals of their surrounding . This is increased by the ability of the tongue being forked and each end is independent of each other and can move speratley allowing the snake to see where the stronger chemical reading is, thus navigating to that side.

These giants can generally consume any animal it can overpower . This leads to cases where they consume even large crocodiles & alligators which are frequent over in Florida. Generally their diet consists of birds & mammals though.

Not for the novice owner due o their rapid growth and sheer adult size however despite this , they have become increasingly common overtime when in the care of experienced herpetologists. They however are not easy to manage once you get past the electrical bill, the feeding ect, what becomes the problem is the handling as nearly fully grown , no one man can handle even the most docile snake that is quite capable of turning . There are enough reported incidents to give fair warning of this.

In case anyone is wondering about that male dwarf burmese I mentioned a few weeks ago, we did get him and he's not far off from being done with quarantine. This is a pretty accurate summary of his personality though, so you probably won't see many pictures for a while. He's a nervous little dude, much worse than Amber was at his age.
