I just dreamt of my brother Saturday night, and it was so WONDERFUL 💕 I was so happy and excited to see him. I just kept telling him how much I loved him and how proud of him I was. What's interesting is that I also told him how much I missed him in the dream... so at some point, I was aware of his absence...

Needless to say, I was on cloud nine the next day... I WAS SO VERY HAPPY... because I believe when we dream of loved ones that are no longer with us, that's their way of visiting you... staying connected, saying I love you and comforting you 💞

prisoner no. 626710 (dir. lalit vachani) is about the arrest of umar khalid, who's been kept imprisoned without trial and has consistently been denied bail

dr. babasaheb ambedkar (dir. jabbar patel) is a biopic on ambedkar

any of anand patwardhan's documentaries are a good start but I highly recommend jai bhim comrade, ram ke naam and father son and holy war. all three address the demolition of babri masjid and the hindutva mobilisation post 1980s

sairat (dir. nagraj manjule) is a fictional story about the violence of caste endogamy

mango dreams (dir. john upchurch) is about a partition survivor who wants to see his childhood home in present day pakistan before the onset of dementia

manto (dir. nandita das) is a biopic on saadat hasan manto who moved to pakistan during the partition

red ant dream (dir. sanjay kak) is a documentary covering the naxalites (sanjay kak's documentaries other documentaries are good too)

haider (dir. vishal bhardwaj) is a modern day adaptation of shakespeare's hamlet about a student who returns to his home in kashmir in 1995 to dig deeper into his father's disappearance. forget bollywood, I wholeheartedly believe this is the only indian movie about the brawl over kashmir that is actually good and sensitive to the conditions under which kashmiris take up arms

pariyerum perumal (dir. mari selvaraj) is about the friendship between an oppressed caste man and an oppressor caste woman, whose family disapproves

and because I can, I will end it with hit bollywood movie rang de basanti (dir. rakeysh omprakash mehra). if this movie was released today aamir khan would've been shot dead I'm so serious the opening scene is of bhagat singh reading lenin 💀 defined an entire generation tbh

I just started watching daredevil (2015) like 2 days ago. It's probably a good thing that I didn't see it when it came out bc I think I would have been feral honestly. Like high school me that was already obsessed with loki and bucky did not need another one lol

That being said holy shit it's so good. I've seen the 1st 7 episodes. My immediate thoughts:

- the intro being the city dripping in blood holy shit

- justice being typically depicted as blind and holding scales like Matt being a lawyer and vigilante and bringing 2 forms of justice

-the cinematography in general, but I loved how (I think ep. 2) when he was retrieving the kid from the russian mob and they kept the camera in the hallway but had the fight going between the 2 rooms

-In ep. 3 I think I was just repeating holy shit and omg when Claire and Matt kissed. They are not messing around lmao. The chin lift!!!

-The amount of daddy issue this man has lmao. And it's a double whammy too! Because he has to deal with that stick left him too!

- also I have a prediction which I very well may be wrong (idk any daredevil lore), but I think Vanessa is Matt's mom. Simply because that would be fucked up if true. I don't even know if she's old enough for that to work or not

-also I just really like that the show seems really cohesive so far. Like the plot points carry on between episodes and it feels like the story can develop rather than being reset at the start of each episode which is really nice. It seems like if something is brought up then there is a reason for it

-also I love Foggy, I also like how both him and Karen act 3d and that they have their own motivations rather than feeling like they know they are side charters. It's refreshing. That being said, I don't like how Karen treats Foggy because she likes Matt, but I do think that is a realistic way a person would act so

The show is like arrow if arrow was actually good lmao.

But yeah I'm gonna keep watching. Also the reason I started watching it is cause I kept seeing tumblr screenshots of daredevil gifsets on pinterest...
