#RG God Gundam

FINALLY FINISHED!!

I had started the RG God Gundam sometime last year? And he's just been sitting on my desk fully built for a long time because I accidentally forgot about him oops. I had finished Fuunsaiki forever ago and he's just been on my model shelf waiting for me to get my ass in gear.

Then I got a hold of the G-Rework decals for the God Gundam and finally buckled down and finished him. Can't wait for my Nobell Gundam to come in this fall so I can set them together 💕

用了比較動態的表現手法,

來呈現【明鏡止水】的氣勢

A pain in the butt to remove the tight under gates though

RG GF13-01NJII God Gundam

Uh... I talked about the whole Burning Gundam thing when I did Blazing... I mentioned my hopes for future RGs when I did Hi-v... Did you see the expansion set for this set? It’s got an RG Fuunsaki. That’s cool.

The Good: Posability is insane, which was part of the intention with this kit. The God Gundam is piloted by a martial artist, after all. As a build, it has very good use of parts layering, and can replicate all of the God Gundam’s gimmicks: the arm grieves, the expanding shoulders and legs, the Core Fighter (which I forgot to take a picture of >_>, hold on...) and its expanding wings with added light effect parts, shoulder guns, an opening chest with the King of Heats emblem. For something so small, it does a lot.

The Bad: The expanding shoulders aren’t very solid, don’t lock, and are somewhat fragile so they should be handled with care. The knees are only connected at the bottom, so putting enough stress on them could snap them. The neck doesn’t actually attach to the body, but has a large friction peg that raises the head slightly when the Core Fighter is attached. The main problem is it prevents the chest from opening with the Core Fighter attached without a lot of finagling.

The Details: RG, so panel lining and use of the black label stickers. My liner pen actually died half-way through this build, so I switched to using a brush tip marker, which take a looong time to dry. It’s been, like, 2 weeks, and I’m still not sure it’s dry yet.

Overall, this is a fantastic kit and fun build. Its only real issue is its neck, but it’s not something with the possibility of breaking, and can be made to work with time. Gonna try picking up Fuunsaki, so if I can we’ll see this guy again in the future.

This past 2 weeks I’ve been doing so much overtime for summer substitutions I am dying for my own summer vacation to start, but whenever I’m tired I just look at all the gunpla I’ve bought in the past 2 months with my sick overtime pay and it does make my life a little better.

RG God Gundam

Hi! Im the anon from earlier. I wanted to take a bit to tell you about my personal favorite fictional horse, and more importantly, the merchandise that's been created of him!

This is fuunsaiki from the anime mobile fighter g gundam!

While he may just seem like any other horse, this is not the case as unlike most other horses, he has a gundam of his own. That's right, mobile horse fuunsaiki (yes both the horse and his mobile fighter have the same name) he even gets his own suit up sequence!

[Side note: the gundams in G Gundam are piloted via mobile trace system, which functions by the user wearing a special suit that tracks their movements and the gundam moves accordingly.]

I've yet to come across any toys of his normal self, however the mobile horse he pilots has several!

There are two different model kits on the market currently that I am aware of (though as far as I can tell they are both out of print at the current moment)

The first one is the HG 1/144 kit from 2011! It came with master gundam, and once built is a semi-posable figure (slight adjustments can be made, but he's mostly stationary)

This same figure was re-released with additional effects parts for RG god gundam in 2022

The second one is not a regular bandai kit at all, but rather an Effects Wings kit from 2022! This fuunsaiki, unlike the HG fuunsaiki, is fully poseable, and is compatible with both HG and RG gundams.

Now as for regular action figures, there's the MSiA (mobile suit in action) figure from 2002,

And a robot damashii figure from 2015!

There was also a gashapon figure, but I don't know much of anything about it.

As of 2024, it's seems there is going to be a G-Frame fuunsaiki getting released, as well as potentially another Effects Wings kit!

It's possible I've missed a few figures, the anime has been out for 30 years and in that time a lot of different merch has been made, and some of it isn't documented very well, or easily found for sale at this point.

But I digress. Horses are cool and I hope you enjoyed this schpeal about the infamous horse who pilots a gundam!

Tiny little pirate man is complete, The RG Crossbone Gundam. This kit was Sick as hell, looks fucking fantastic. The build was quite fun (except for the parts where I was terrified of losing one of the tiny microscopic pieces) Really glad to finally worked up the courage to build him, as he'd been in my backlog for a little under a year.

Gunpla #11 - RG God Gundam & HG G Gundam

I've included the HG as an example in the difference in articulation between these two kits, but this is mostly a post about the RG.

RG God Gundam is one of the newer RG kits and it's an absolute delight. The colours are great, the proportions are great, the articulation is fantastic. This is also my first time using waterslide decals and I'd definitely say the purchase and extra effort is worth it.

Only downside is that the hinges on the.... back thingies... wings... whatever - are a little fragile. Though that might be because I applied panel liner to them directly before I was informed that I shouldn't do that (topcoat -> panel line -> decal -> topcoat).

A fun little extra gimmick in this kit is the shoulders being double-jointed - an extra bit of articulation to make it's iconic arms crossed pose more natural:

If you only ever build one Real-Grade, you could do a hell of a lot worse than God Gundam.

oh, and if you've noticed that the beam sabers is missing - I'm planning on using them in a kitbash, but that'll be a while from now.

G Gundam will be my next stop when I've finished the UC trek to Unicorn. I've heard there's a horse involved.

RG Gundam Astray Gold Frame Amatsu Mina

This guy is by far the most extra thing I have ever built. I love the Astray designs for just that reason but oh my god is this something else. The best part is she's pretty sturdy, you would expect there to be loose pieces left and right on something like this, but aside from the heels falling off when manhandled I didn't have any problems. Anyway this is the coolest backpack unit that any mobile suit in the entire franchise has.

All my finished kits as of today! The Sturm Tyrann (the red lobster bitch) was my first one! You can tell I've learned a lot since that one. Maybe one day I'll go back and touch him up a bit. Wish I had kept the decals for it. 😔 oh well.

Not pictured: RG God Gundam + expansion kit because I still need to decal it 💀
