Understanding Clock Pivot Wear and Bushing: Part II of Two-Part Series
In Part I, I explained the importance of bushing to mitigate wear on a mechanical clock movement. In summary, bushing involves replacing worn brass around a pivot by drilling a new hole and inserting a new bushing, either using a bushing machine or hand tools. Severely worn pivots may need re-pivoting, which involves installing new pivots using a lathe. Minor wear can be managed with filing,…

Published in “Transvestia” magazine #34 (August 1965). I think original art could be by American cartoonist Reamer Keller (1905-1994).

REAMER MAKES ME REALLY SAD TO BE HONEST? Like. God he's going back to find Suki. No it's the way he's doing all he does to maintain a system that HE isn't even happy with? Like he likes men. He's not even happy with the system he does everything to maintain and that's so sad to me. It's not even like he doesn't know or doesn't yearn for more. Like the fact he keeps repeatedly going back to this one bar in hopes of meeting this one guy is soooo. Like he's longing for more in secret and he lets himself indulge in it sometimes and that's just sad to me. Like he has sooooo many issues. I don't really want Scra and Reamer to have anything personally (although it'd be fascinating from a character level) but they make me sad. It is interesting to me that Scra doesn't even consider that Reamer might fancy him. I'm curious if we'll ever get a reveal

"I'll live now 'cause the bad die last, Dodging bullets with your broken past, I can't heaaar you, I don't feaaar you now~"
Oh no, he's singing in his lab again. The worst of it is that he might have even seemed endearing, were he not in the middle of parting out a corpse...
"Wrapped in your regret, What a waste of blood and sweat, Ohh ohh ohhhh~"
