Fitzsimmons

They're so so sweet and my favorite characters of this show!!! The show starts with them as the scientists of the team who are inseparable best friends. They're already being referred to as Fitzsimmons and people joke that when hearing that they thought it was one person being referred to.At this point they aren't together yet. They went to the S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy of Science and Technology together and became friends when they were paired in chem lab. In the show there's so many times they show how much they care for each other. In one episode Simmons gets infected with an alien disease and Fitz goes into her containment area to help her find a potential way to cure it. And at the end of the first season they get locked in a medical pod in an airplane which is then dropped into the ocean and there's only one air supply and Fitz confesses his feelings for Simmons and then opens the pod and gives her the air. She pulls him to the surface and both of them live but he had some brain damage from being without oxygen. He does eventually recover and their relationship goes through lots of hardship though various intense situations out of their control like Simmons being stranded on an alien planet and Fitz working desperately to find a way to bring her back. But through all of the crazy scenarios they go through they love each other so so much and they built that love on a strong foundation of friendship. They are the most important people in each others lives even before their romance begins and I love them very much

Long Time Coming: Cherry Should Be Dead

First off, please put down the pitchforks, I love him dearly and know it’s an ✨anime✨ but for an anime set in a *more realistic* way, there’s no comprehensible reason he could have survived @d*m’s “Full Swing Kiss.” (That piece of shit should also understand how simple cause and effect works regarding injury, but I digress. He gives me indigestion and a migraine.)

How he was hit:

60mph—I’m generously assuming given Reki stating they can go that fast “at least down to the mountain,” and these two were out for speed.

~60mph spun around and hit, full rotation, with the broad side of a horned skateboard. He’s hit so hard that Carla goes flying off to who fucking knows where (I’m impressed she was alright tbh). Any rational person would assume he’s hitting the track hard.

My, non-medical-professional, opinion:

Broken clavicle (most commonly broken and stupid-easy to break)

Wicked case of whiplash

Broken nose

Broken jaw

Skull fracture(s)

Concussion-zzzzz

Bruised bones

Bruised organs (liver, spleen, kidneys, lungs, probably heart and others)

Whilst being a cute MatchaBlossom moment, Joe should NOT. HAVE. TOUCHED him. It doesn’t take much to fuck up especially the neck injuries by moving the patient. Huge no-no! The paramedics should have come, assessed him, stuck him with a neck brace and hauled him to the OR… but that woulda made a bigger conflict with the plot 🙄

Kaoru having gotten away with an apparent broken (dominant) arm (his occupation/special interests/passions!!!😭😭😭) and opposite leg with undisclosed but seemingly *uncritical* head injury is… laughably little. And not in a “haha funny” way.

“Using mathematical formulas and physics experiments, researchers learned that 43 mph is the fastest speed at which you have a fighting chance to survive a head-on collision.”

I respect wanting to keep characters in and functional, however… this event, in my mind, really should have been revisited and revised.

TLDR: this man has been turned into a medical mess and I’m livid. The man’s ghost-writing now.

Reki

He’s got a pretty big appetite himself. So it works out.

Reki doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth, so how many sweets they can eat without feeling nauseas is impressive to him.

It’s great when they go on dates to amusement parks or a fair. Together they can try all the stalls together, and still have enough to share.

Langa

Always been kind of a picky eater. So having someone who can almost eat anything is a bit of an ‘ick’ for him.

Of course he’s seen people eat a lot. Being an athlete, Langa has seen the bulk-up-before-a-match mentality. However, they’re just eating to eat it seems.

Concerned they may have a tapeworm, or some other kind of medical phenomenon that explains it. Does not share this information.

Adam

Ainosuke is clearly a hedonist. Constantly in pursuit of the pleasure of more. So it’s not a surprise he would have a mild feeder kink.

He loves to take his s/o out to elaborate 10 course meals, or have a huge buffet of cake at home, to watch them eat and the joy it brings them.

Likes to find the most expensive or new, exotic treats for them to try. He wants to keep them, and their pallet, guessing.

ooooooh i could go on about this AU so much but for this, i'll pick five background details i've got down but don't think i'll be able to get into too deeply in the actual fic:

kaoru's professional skating career ended abruptly due to a severe head injury (in... suspicious circumstances) that, among other things, permanently impacted his balance and prevented him being able to safely pull off jumps. carla doubles as a medical device for him, and his motivation in developing an AI assistant aimed at skaters in the first place was initially entirely in finding a way to help himself still be able to skate as close to how he used to as possible, with her widespread utility in both practice and scoring for fellow disabled skaters and able-bodied skaters alike occurred to him later.

tadashi's father makoto was adam's first coach, discovering ainosuke's talent when the two boys skated together as children and managing to convince his father and aunts that it had to be nurtured (with figure skating being a respectable sport and histories in prestigious sports like that being common enough for diet members, they see it as something worth investing in for his future.) he and tadashi were the only people outside the family to know ainosuke was being abused as a child, and he tried to use his position to protect him when he could. miya, his current most promising student, reminds him immensely of ainosuke and tadashi both.

tadashi never had the professional prospects ainosuke did, but he never stopped skating and is actually incredibly good. his relationship with his father is extremely strained, but makoto is his one confidant in this. he's been trying for years to encourage his son to leave the job aiichiro got him at the ISU to teach or otherwise do something where he actually gets to use his skills, but to no avail so far.

hiromi isn't any sort of professional and just teaches skating lessons to kids at reki's home rink, and in his free time, rather than skateboarding, he's actually an amateur wrestler. his dream is to combine all his passions (figure skating, pro wrestling and metal) into one and put on a pro wrestling-themed ice show, though he worries erika (the manager of the rink, who he's hopelessly in love with) would find this stupid if he ever pitched it to her.

oliver was a several-times world champion, olympic gold medalist and inductee in the figure skating hall of fame. he and nanako met in montréal when she was studying abroad for her last year of university and was introduced through a friend who skated in the same skating club, and they quickly fell in love. nanako decided to stay in canada after undergrad to train as a nurse, and a couple years later, she got pregnant with langa, oliver decided to retire from competition and pivot to coaching, and they moved to vancouver together to get married and start their family.

my favorite wip is, of course, my beloved my beloathed my best friend my worst enemy my silly rabbit my sweet cheese... shattered edges glistening. think of this fic as a love letter to reki, a vent about chronic pain, an ode to people who never feel like they're enough just the way they are, a (most likely) 35k+ epic about learning how to accept help, and a shit load of projection onto fictional characters. it's got everything; matchablossom, renga, shadoka, oka being the best person in the entire world, reki bonding with each person individually, ptsd, adam slander, hurt/comfort, first kisses, reki being an unreliable narrator, the sk8 fam showering reki in love, and so many medical inaccuracies!

i just love this fic so much because of like. what it means to me, but also because it's really pushed me to become a better writer and to try and figure out how to put something like chronic pain into words. i definitely think its a very emotional story, and hopefully people feel the same once it's done and published, whenever that may be. for now, it's sitting comfy at 27k words, with a few more scenes to go. so hopefully sometime soon. i would love to not spend two years working on this thing lmao... anyways have a snippet, because ily <3

There was another quiet rustle and Reki could almost imagine Langa, laying on his side with his blankets pulled up to his chin and his phone trapped between his pillow and his face. “So, do you want me to talk, or you can, or we can just sit in silence…”

Reki was quiet for a moment as he thought, listening to the way Langa’s quiet breathing fit in between his own so that there was never a silent second between them, and the knot loosened further. His lips twitched ever so slightly. “I think I just want to sit here quietly with you, if that’s alright?”

Been feeling weird lately. Like a different weird than normal.

Figured I was probably getting bored of grinding D4s season, so I decided to do a bit of painting. And oh my god it was like trying to do surgery with a butchers cleaver.

No matter how hard I tried to do the fine stuff, my hand and arm would move as if I was trying to paint on a regular canvas and not a part of a model that makes the brush look immense.

I do like how the colors fit, especially the bone-flesh-blaze orange I gave going on. But I think I'll need to strip it all and start again because it looks awful overall.

There are many reasons I don’t want Adam to go to jail in Season 2 no cops at Pride I mean “S” but a very important one is that it’s objectively funnier if he spends the entire season trying to get the protagonists to like him and failing miserably.

Think about the people Adam owes an apology:

Tadashi? Kissed and Made up in the Season 1 finale.

Langa? He’d probably respond with, “It’s okay, I can get another sandwich…Oh you meant the sexual harassment and trying to kill me lol.”

Miya would take a little more effort to win over but I think he’d respond to a heartfelt apology as long as it didn’t include any kind of sexual innuendo.

Cherry wouldn’t forgive Adam at first. He might never forgive Adam. But if he’s really convinced that Adam is going to try to change, he might accept his apology, even if their relationship is beyond repair. It probably helps that, thanks to Cherry and his lawyers, Adam is on the hook for everyone’s medical bills.

Reki, however? I don’t think Reki is going to come anywhere close to accepting Adam’s apology, much less forgiving him. But Adam can’t just give up, can he? Reki is the heart of the family; his forgiveness is essential to get into everyone else’s good graces (or so he thinks).

Imagine a season of Adam—creepy, evil, dangerous Adam—begging and pleading and groveling for Reki’s forgiveness with puppy dog eyes…only to have sunshine boy Reki sneer and turn up his nose at him time after time.

I would much rather watch that than a plot where the conflict gets resolved by cops.

Another BL (this one is finished) and also Link/OC is Something Greater by busket. It has quite a bit of humor and is much more lighthearted than The Curious Minds. The OC is also pretty interesting.

The doctor or nurse’s serious lecture about moving TBI or neck injury patients.

Not being allowed in because the family rule or sanitation bullshit; Kaoru hauled into surgery.

Seeing Kaoru tied up to a bed like he was already fucking dead.

The pit in Kojiro’s own stomach and that feeling like he’d sunk to the bottom of the sea in a poorly maintained submarine.

And the possibly worst—but that would require ranking all the shit-ness—Kaoru didn’t have family. Not any that would care enough. That was why the two were so close, why the Nanjos considered Kaoru one of them to begin with.

“Are you family?” Some new person asked.

Kojiro shot to his feet, pleading with a cracked voice, “I’m his partner!”

Kojiro is a guy of many talents. He even used to be a drummer in a band! A band with a future. I mean, they did go on to contract and charts but… And after his mother dies and his step-father takes off, Kojiro gives up his dream and stays home to take care of his younger brother.
