Morality pets redux
Some parts of this I've posted here before. In the light of the manga's Psychic Sisters arc, I thought it was worth putting my thoughts together. Long-ass post.
"I don’t believe our lives change completely for the better at a short notice. It’s all the small progress we make that’s important ..." -- ONE, interviewed in Yamada Reiji’s Young Sunday ep. 30.
I'm here to talk about characters changing their lives as a result of an important interaction. Part A will seem quite obvious to many, but I ask you to bear with me as it's the foundation from which to build.
Tumblr media
A: The Moment
For a guy who doesn't believe in sudden changes, ONE sure has a lot of characters seeming to do just that. Morality pets, the characters who force other characters to look into themselves and learn to be better people, have been a staple of One-Punch Man since the beginning. They're everywhere!
To pick a few (there are many more):
Saitama had the Butt-Chinned kid. His entire destiny changed because of this child.
Tumblr media
The seminal moment (chapter 2)
Garou has Tareo.
Tumblr media
There's nothing he wouldn't do for this kid (chapter 91 online /93 in print)
Genos gets Tatsumaki. Somehow, this cranky, complicated little asshole whose hands are none too clean and who’d savage him nearly as happily as she does monsters is just what the doctor ordered for his personal development. No one said morality pets had to be cute or helpless!
Tumblr media
Feisty, isn't she? Yet she's got things to teach (chapter 133 online/137 in print)
And Tatsumaki has Saitama.
Tumblr media
chapter 182
B: Before the Moment
“Look at a stone cutter hammering away at his rock, perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred-and-first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not the last blow that did it, but all that had gone before.” ― Jacob August Riis (1849-1914)
So how do we address the contradiction between what ONE says he writes and what we see? By noting that every apparently Damascene conversion turns out to have roots. The reason the Morality Pets are so for the characters is that they force into focus a moral issue the characters have been struggling with and get the characters to make a decision about the issue.
Saitama
Saitama's encounter with the butt-chinned kid and Crablante was not the first time he'd thought of becoming strong enough to fight monsters. He'd been desperately hating being weak even back in middle school, and had been muscle training since.
Tumblr media
So he decided to do something about it (extra chapter: 200 Yen)
What Crablante brought into focus was that becoming so strong that he could defeat any monster was something he wanted to 100% do, rather than something he worked on in between work. More importantly, it was something he wanted to do to be a hero. I'll revisit this in the next section.
Tumblr media
Chapter 2
Genos
Genos confronted two important philosophical questions that have troubled him. The first is who needs help. Heroes help those who can't so the direction of travel is allegedly clear -- help flows from the strong to the weak, so the stronger you are, the less help you need/deserve/get. When he sets out to follow after Tatsumaki and help her, we see him consider that question explicitly, remembering Saitama coming through for Mumen Rider. The answer to who needs help is anybody, regardless of capability. Which is a radical change to the sense of noblesse oblige that prevails unexamined.
Tumblr media
What is a hero for, if they're not for everyone? (chapter 143)
The second is another that's troubled him for a long long while: where the balance of destroying enemies versus protecting others lies. Genos has been as strict a utilitarian as Metal Knight is, with the difference that he's willing to lay down in front of the trolley himself if need be. The cold logic of the matter is that if there's any innocent people to kill to stop a terrible threat from killing many more people, heroes are the right people to kill. They're the people who are prepared to die for others. Genos acknowledges explicitly that killing heroes would have been something he'd do without hesitation if the outcome was that a monster as terrible as Black Sperm didn't escape.
Tumblr media
To sacrifice a few to save many more would seem moral (chapter 150)
So what changed the calculus? Tatsumaki. By working so closely with her, she ceased to be a hero in the abstract, or even just a person. She was the person he’s flown in the teeth of one of the most terrifying monsters ever to give her space to work. She’s the person he’s plunged down a mile to summon help for, then clambered back up to guard her when she could no longer protect herself. She’s the person he’s carried in his arms, giving his back to every obstacle and blow so as to keep safe. Furthermore, he’s seen and empathises with Fubuki’s fear for her sister’s well-being and that impels him to try that much harder for Tatsumaki. And Tatsumaki is a person who really, really doesn't want to die.
Tumblr media
But when 'heroes' ceases to be an abstract concept and becomes a small, scared woman who trusts you... (chapter 145)
Therefore, when push came to shove, the question wasn't 'are you going to kill a dozen heroes to save millions of lives?' It was: 'are you going to kill Tatsumaki? Is that your idea of justice? REALLY?' It's at that point that he gets on top of her to shield her from being stamped to death, to protect her come what may. It might not have worked out as well as it did in the end, but no matter: Genos has decided that his path to justice and strength does not lie in strategically sacrificing others.
Tumblr media
...somehow, the 'moral' sacrifice cannot be countenanced (chapter 150)
Tatsumaki
Tatsumaki might have surprised some for not appearing to change when Genos had quite graphically showed her that others could indeed help her. Quite simply, she wasn't yet in the right place. It's worth noting that she had reached out to Fubuki to help her extract Psykos and it couldn't have gone any worse: all her worst fears appeared to be validated. The enemy was all too real, Fubuki's hangers-on had a traitor in their midst, and the ones who weren't traitorous were too weak to be of any help. And yet, when she looks around the room, is it with a sense of vindication at having all her warnings come to pass? No, it's with sadness: she's sad that it's come to this yet again.
Tumblr media
Rarely has a person been sadder to be able to say 'I told you so' (chapter 177)
She really wants things to go differently but she can't see how. And that's how it comes to be that she's prepared to change what she does to not end up all alone again.
Tumblr media
Surely there has to be another way (chapter 182)
C: Afterlife of The Moment
“A farmer went out to sow his seed... Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root..." Matthew 13:3-6 (NIV)
No epiphany, no matter how strong, will last unless there's a way to support it. ONE has been no slouch in exploring the way in which epiphanies turn into lasting change.
Saitama
Back when Saitama was still new in his hero journey, his neighbourhood was still populated, and being thanked by people he helped was the thing that gave him the strength to persist through his travails.
Tumblr media
What gave his struggles meaning (extra chapter 'Brushing up')
Indeed, when we first get to hear Saitama's thoughts, we find that what's getting him down (other than fights being boring) is that he can no longer see that his actions have any positive effect on the world. His neighborhood was empty -- everyone having fled for their lives -- and monsters kept coming day after day.
Tumblr media
Once he lost people around him, he started to lose himself (chapter 5)
The reason that saving the ugly child had been so important to him comes back to him when he's looking at the bodies of the fallen heroes, slain by Cosmic Garou. He'd been so lost in the sauce of seeking personal gratification that he'd forgotten that he'd become a hero to help others. It might involve great fights, but that had never been the point. Tragically, he realised it too late. Luckily for him (and to stop the story from ending too soon), Saitama's gotten a do-over. Only he's forgotten. Oh dear.
Tumblr media
Remembering what mattered too late (chapter 166)
Genos
In the aftermath of King (really Garou) appearing to scatter the cadres and Saitama arrive to check on him, we see Genos doubting himself. He'd already been unsure if he'd done the right thing. Maybe what he'd really done was to chicken out because he wasn't prepared to die. So he asks Saitama. Getting the answer that not throwing his life away was indeed a sign of strength, it was the validation he needed to commit to a new path. What that path will look like, ah, we just have to wait and see.
Tumblr media
Most necessary validation. Also, geeze Genos, learn to take a compliment, will ya? (chapter 155)
Tatsumaki
While it's too early to know what will happen, the fact that Tatsumaki has a sister who loves and trusts her enough to already have a relationship with her, and who is interested in having a better realtionship with her is a good start.
Tumblr media
It helps a lot that those two actually like each other (chapter 176)
The way we see her at the end of chapter 182, standing with the Blizzard Group, is grounds for cautious optimism that she will be able to learn a new way of relating to others. It won't be perfect or perfectly smooth sailing, but what in this story is?
Tumblr media
This is better than sitting miserable and alone again -- let's hope it sticks! (chapter 182)
D: No Freebies
Right, let's sum up. There's a reason insurance companies jack up premiums for drivers who have been in accidents: people really suck at learning from experience. Until we decide that we are ready to learn, things that happen to us are just things that happen. Even if it's our fault. This has no relationship to IQ, unfortunately.
Many stories are fond of the life-changing moment, and in particular, the life-changing interaction with another person. What ONE has been doing is to dig into this idea a bit more (each statement is <20 words).
The life-changing interaction is something seen as important by the actor.
They find this important because something within them has them open to change and the interaction addresses it.
Life-changing moments only become life-changing with ongoing reinforcement.
I think overall that it's a more realistic way of approaching personal change than many stories do it.
And that's me. What do you think?

Heavy Weight Champions
(Impromptu Saigenos fluffy, hurt/comfort and angsty fic that came to mind) (webcomic spoilers at the very end and minor character death warning, you'll prolly know who im talking about and you'll either love me or hate me for this)
-*-
"SENSEI! YOU'RE SAFE!"
"Huh-?" Genos crashes to Saitama like a train and they go down with a loud thwump and a gasp from Saitama. Saitama realizes his heavy cyborg disciple is laying on top of him and clinging to his neck.
"Genos, what are you doing?"
Genos to his embarrassment, realizes he basically straddling Saitama and quickly extricates himself from the hug and apologizes profusely for getting carried away.
Saitama sighs. "Look Genos, you can hug me but I can't catch you when you come at me like that."
"Like?"
"Too fast, you need to slow down."
"Right, sensei!"
Saitama grins and ruffles Genos' hair affectionately. Genos freezes for a moment and then pouts and tries to smooth his synthetic hair back down. Saitama snorts.
-*-
"Sensei!"
"Hm?"
This time Genos slows down before reaching Saitama and Saitama opens his arms on instinct and catches the affectionate cyborg. His bag of groceries slips from his hands however and falls down with a thump.
"AH, shit-"
Saitama turns his attention away from the cyborg on his arms and opens his bag of groceries.
"Phew, the eggs didn't break."
"Sorry sensei, I didn't think..."
"None of that, I just had my hands full."
"You don't need to apologize if you want to hug me. You can just ask."
-*-
"Sensei."
Saitama looks up from the manga he's reading on the floor, leaning against a pile of futons.
"Yea? What is it Genos?"
Genos looks like he wants to say something, but remains indecisive.
Saitama looks at Genos inquisitively, then he puts down his manga and opens up his arms wide and invitingly.
Genos upon seeing this, lights up like a christmas tree and restrains himself to a more sedate pace and drops down into Saitama's waiting arms, hugging him tightly.
"Gah, too tight Genos! I'm feeling like I'm being crushed."
Genos loosens his grip. "Is that better sensei?"
Saitama smiles. "A lot better."
Saitama's hand roams around Genos' back in a comforting manner and he pets his head and smooths down his hair, holding the cyborg close.
"What brought this on? Are you alright Genos?"
Genos remains quiet for a while.
"A monster had come out of nowhere and attacked a school and demolished it. We were lucky we avoided any civilian casualties."
"How strong was it?"
"Not very strong, I eliminated it swiftly."
Saitama continues to rub Genos' backside, even if Genos cannot properly feel it through his cybernetics.
"Good job, Genos."
"I'm glad you're safe too."
-*-
Genos watches dispassionately as a farm burns in front of his eyes. He has to wait for the firetruck to arrive since he has no functionality to put out the fire on his own. He had made sure there were no civilians left inside, but that was all he could do.
Something long-forgotten stirs inside his mind as he watches the flames lick the roof of the farm house and consume it.
Genos gets pulled out of his reverie by the sound of a sniffle. He turns and sees a black haired child openly cry and it pulls at his heartstrings. Why was the kid alone? He couldn't be much older than 6-years old.
"Hey kid, where are your parents?" He barely represses a tinge of fury from his voice. This child did not deserve his wrath.
The small child sniffles and tries to stop the flow of tears with his fists.
"I dunno -hic-, they told me to -hic- run and went to save our cattle and -sniff- I haven't seen them since."
Genos stares.
Then he crouches low and opens up his arms invitingly.
Upon seeing this, the kid immediately springs and crashes to him and weeps openly to his chest.
Genos holds him close and comfortingly rubs his back and the back of his sooty, messy hair.
He suddenly remembers a distant memory of getting picked up by Doctor Kuseno after the aftermath of the Mad cyborg's attack.
Wanting to be comforted like this. When he silently wept. And grieved at his parents graves. And kept on shedding tears.
Alone.
And the feelings of overwhelming guilt of running away consuming him.
Finally, coming to an understanding, that it was never his fault.
Like a dam, oily tears burst forth and run down in rivulets, marring his doll-like face with black stripes.
He openly cries with the child in his arms and takes solace in the fact that the child is safe now. In his arms.
"Don't worry, we'll find them soon."
"You're safe now."
After he and the kid take their time calming down, he gently extricates himself
"What is your name? So we can find your parents. The fire department is here at any moment."
"I shouldn't tell it to strangers..." the little black haired kid mumbles and sniffles. He looks at Genos' gentle visage and relents.
"It's Saitama."
Genos' eyebrows almost shoot to his hairline, but he impressively does not let the shock show on his face. He keeps the tone of his voice even.
Saitama looks at him suspiciously. "Something wrong?"
"Nothing, you just reminded me of someone I know."
He picks up Saitama who clamours into a hug and grapples his tiny arms around his neck for support.
"Who are you mister?"
"Nobody important, just a hero who happened to pass by. You're being really brave, Saitama."
Genos can feel the child's grip tighten and Genos faces him away from the burning house. They stand and wait in silence.
-*-
The firetruck finally arrives and begins to put out the fire in the farm.
Saitama suddenly grins and looks up to Genos' face.
"I wanna be bald hero like you when I grow up! You're kinda weird but you're so cool and pretty like mom!"
Genos is caught off-guard. "Bald?"
He absently touches his own scalp and notices a distinct lack of synthetic hair, like a bald spot. That must've happened from the fight he had earlier.
He's ready to give intricate explanation about the difference between being actually bald and a bald spot and synthetic hair being attached to titanium alloy instead of any actual skin to this kid, but restrains himself. No way a kid his age could follow or understand all that technical jargon.
Fire department finally collects the kid from his arms, but Saitama looks at him with pleading eyes.
"Will I see you again mister?"
Genos smiles.
"Absolutely."
Small Saitama waves his hand over-enthusiastically and shouts "bye bye!" and Genos waves his hand back in a goodbye.
Genos watches the fire department leave, feeling like a large weight had finally been lifted from his soul.
'There is a proper time and place for every action.'
'Right, sensei?'
-*-
Saitama turns around to face Genos, after hearing Kuseno's plea to take care of him in his stead, while gently holding the dying doctor in his arms.
Genos needs no prompting and hugs his father figure one last time, oily tears cascading down his face, telling him how much he loves him.
But this time, the overwhelming feeling of guilt does not consume him. There is only overwhelming sorrow and pain.
He holds Kuseno's hand as he passes away. Saitama watches him weep, tears rolling down his own face.
"I'm so sorry Genos...if I had been awake, I could've-"
"None of that, sensei," Genos interrupts firmly.
Genos looks up into Saitama's soulful brown eyes beseechingly.
"It's not your fault. None of this is your fault."
Saitama's face twists into a pained grimace and more tears run down his face. Genos gently guides Saitama to sit down in seiza, taking care Kuseno's body is not jostled and hugs them both. Saitama curls into himself and wails mournfully and painfully.
Finally letting himself go, Saitama grieves for the loss of lives and the heavy weight burdening his soul is lifted and feeling rejuvenated, like he's born anew.
From heavy lifter to heavy weight champion.
The monstrous guilt gripping his heart is no more.
-*-
Well that's a lot longer than I expected. Very impromptu fic I wrote pretty raw just now after I got an idea as I woke up, so it's not very prose or descriptive. No beta we die like men.
(Yes the implication is that Genos had traveled back in time.)
(I'm sorry I killed Kuseno again don't hate me)

OPM Theory
Ok my Theory about Saitama's Past is that he is an Orphan and the Adults in his Life F*cking Failed Him.
Because The Teacher in his School 🏫 is a F*cking B*TCH!!! Everytime he tries to tell them the Truth they think he's Lying 🤥 and He has Zero F*cking Friend
Like DAMB! He's a Lonely as F*CK!!!
Tumblr media
After Reading the Manga and Anime, I think Saitama has F*cking Autism.
• Autism - A developmental disorder of variable severity that is characterized by difficulty in social interaction and communication and by restricted or repetitive patterns of thought and behavior.
Or
He has F*cking Alexithymia...
• Alexithymia - Lack of emotional awareness or, more specifically, difficulty in identifying and describing feelings and in distinguishing feelings from the bodily sensations of emotional arousal.
Ok maybe not that one but you get the Idea!
Tumblr media
His Childhood is F*cking SH*T!!!
That's literally a HUGE SLAP IN THE FACE!!!
Sigh..., I think he never got diagnosis from a Doctor.
Or
I could be entirely Wrong 🤔 and he's just an Socially Awkward Person who sucks with Social Cues.
Tumblr media
....
Never mind it's either of those 2 >:(
F*cking B*tch!
That Teacher Sucks!!!
He was not even lying at ALL!!!
Tumblr media
Honestly, it's common for people with Disabilities too not fit into society 🙄 since it's not built for them to live in.
Also his experience is kinda familiar what Autism people go through.
Since it seems that Saitama desire social relationships when he was younger, but he find it Challenging to Maintain Stable High-Quality Friendships.
Even worse, a majority of Autism Adults have reported that their childhood interactions included traumatic events, exclusion, and Bullying, which can lead to Self-Isolation out of Fear.
Which I can totally see that happening to him...
Tumblr media
But remember it's just a Theory
And this is just my Personal Opinion and it's not Cannon into the Show or Manga.
I hope Saitama will have a Happier Life in the Future and find people who actually cares about him ❤️ like Geno & King and probably Mumen Rider too.

Leviathantale Mermay 2022 Day 31: Antarctica
Summary: Blank finds an abandoned laboratory in Antarctica and starts to doubt themself.
“Am I like him?”
Blank stares listlessly at the packet of lab notes in their hands. The contents arenothing short of horrifying and unethical. Not that they’re surprised at this point. They’ve already gone through piles of reports and findings. Most of them are now only fodder for the fire that Blank had started for the sake of getting rid of it all.
“Don’t even consider it,” Percy told them quietly. They reach out and pluck the file from Blank’s hands and chucks it into the fire. “It’s too dumb to even think about.”
“But Perce -
“No. There is no soul as good and kind as you. You’re curious and brilliant, yes, but you would never put that above the well-being of others. You’d never go this far.”
Blank tries to smile, but their expression quickly crumbles when they remember what they read. The discoveries are nothing short of revolutionary. But it was all at the cost of the suffering of so many.
Worse yet, there’s something…familiar about the handwriting even though Blank swore they’ve never read something like this before. It wasn’t until they came across the file titled Project X that things became a little clearer. Cross never spoke much about their past, but he revealed enough for Blank to put the pieces together.
Which meant the scientist behind all of these atrocities was -
Well, Blank never got the name. For some reason, it was redacted on every file by ink splatters. The computers yielded only gibberish when it came to the Doctor’s name. It’s as if he was completely struck from the records and memory of the world.
Not that the text was readable in the first place. Not many people in the world are able to read in Wingdings.
Reading text in Wingding has always came to Blank so easily. It had been a talent that they prided themself for having during their years of study. But now they wonder if it’s actually a trait that they inherited from the nameless scientist with many hands. Skeleton monsters naturally read and spoke in fonts, didn’t they?
What if that isn’t the only trait they inherited from him? What if -
“Hey. Stop it.”
Percy breaks Blank out of their thoughts by grabbing their cheeks.
“I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking that just because you share some magic and DNA with this guy makes you just as culpable and evil, right? Well, that’s not how it works. This Dr. Whatever-His-Name-Is isn’t your dad. Your dad is a terrifying and goofy Orca Mer who loves you more than the world.”
“You’re right,” Blank tells their mate helplessly after a beat of silence. “You’re completely right. I shouldn’t be worrying about silly things like this.”
Percy squeezes their hand again. Their matching rings glitter in the firelight. “Good. I’m glad you’re finally seeing sense. Now, let’s finish burning the last of those papers and leave. TK’s waiting for us, you know.”
Blank nods and tosses the files marked Project 13-L00PR and Project FATAL into the fire. Behind them, the lab burns. Hopefully, after the fires go out, the elements would take the rest of the terrible place.
Unbeknownst to Blank and Percy, two somethings within the bowels of the lab stirs and wakes from their long slumber.
--------------------------------------------------------
Fatal and Blooper (Blueberror) are also in this AU! They managed to survive only because they were frozen to be studied at a later date. The only reason why they managed to survive was because XGaster did things to them to make them resilient. Unfortunately, as a side effect, the pair are…not completely sane.
Fatal is a Yellow Lipped Krait and Blooper is a Yellow Belly Sea Snake. They’re technically more Naga than Mer, but they’re able to survive in the ocean long enough to be considered mers so….honorary mers? The pair are also extremely venomous, not that it would permanently harm Leviathans.
Fatal and Blooper: *exists*
Reaper: Well, I was thinking that I was a few glitchy husbands short.
Geno: REAPER-!

Note
Nono, you’re right about glasses Geno, but what does he teach?
My pitch would be Soviet art history, his phd is specifically in the soviet sculptural tradition and it’s a long running joke amongst his students that his apartment is probably full of weird-ass replicas and plaster casts of them.
Ahahahaha you must not have seen that old post i found last night - art was apparently geno's least favorite subject. He used to ask his mom to do his painting homework for him, poor boy. (go watch the gifs its cute, a decade ago but he smiles at getting away with cheating in the exact same way he did when he made the cartoon joke this season)
No, if this is gonna be my silly little fantasy where geno is still in pittsburgh but as some adorable bashful professor and more accessible than a famous hockey player, he's gotta be in a field more accessible. I was never cool enough for the art department, there was a reason i was an artist/computer scientist doing computer science research instead of art research.
Ridiculous fantasy under the cut cause this month has been horrible and who doesnt need escapism :P
Lets put him in the math department, he's good at poker right? Or literature. One of those nerds who likes logic puzzles, like for fun. The kind that enjoys supposing something is fact, and then following the logic train of how the world's dominos would change if this one (wrong) thing is actually true. That'd stick math professor geno's office somewhere in baker hall, which is warm (like 90 degrees ALL YEAR), and strangely soft (well worn), but somewhat industrial (carnegie built all these buildings with the steel industry in mind), he'd fit right in.
Also it's shared with the chemistry department, and the chemical engineering students installed a soda machine in the hallway of basement B. And its famous because it's the cheapest place for caffeine on campus (being run by students they sold the cans close to at cost) and connected to like four other buildings by indoor bridges so you can get your soda fix even during the winter. Before a doctor told me i had to quit caffeine or else have a stroke, i was frequently walking over to buy cherry cola, like a cigarette break only more sugary.
So we have to have a meet cute in this little fantasy and what better vehicle than chitchat over a soda machine. Geno's supposedly shy, right? So i imagine professor geno is even worse, like professors dont talk to media unless they actively want to go viral and become famous and geno strikes me as the type who'd instead be quietly brilliant. Anyway, im shy too, so obviously it's gonna take at least two years of accidental run-ins before there's even a conversation. Like the first year i'd probably learn the hot mystery professor's schedule and time my soda machine visits to coincide with his. The second year i'd probably find out his name from a friend of a friend of a friend who took his class back in undergrad. By the third year we might exchange four whole sentences and it'd be the highlight of my life.
Speaking of classes, geno's gotta be that professor with tons of quirks. Costumes every halloween, a teaching style that is very serious but somehow the funniest in the department, everybody has nicknames from him, all the women in his classes are in love with him and give him other nicknames and tease each other about him behind his back. His office hours are always full, which he's a little bit sad about because if nobody shows up he has an excuse to play video games on his computer for a few hours. He's always stopped in the hallways because everybody recognizes him - current and old students alike - and wants to chat or ask questions related to life or homework. You can hear his voice coming from a mile away, so he's easy to find and socialize with. By the same token when he's in a bad mood, everybody knows it.
Professor geno would also be unfailingly kind - the one who remembers what its like to be perpetually exhausted, hungry, and broke as a student, so he sometimes orders pizza and has it sent to the whiteboard study areas in wean.
I dont think math professor geno would live in an apartment, that's a little boring. He'd probably live with his good buddy who's a famous hockey player and understands that adjunct professors get paid shit until you get your phd and then, god willing, tenure, so doesn't charge him any rent. This version of sid doesnt live in excluseive rich people town but instead has one of those stately mansions in shadyside. And its a college town so sometimes when they go out people recognize geno from class more often than they recognize sid and sid secretly thrives off this.
At some point after maybe four years of soda machine conversation, i'd get up the courage to ask professor geno if i could draw his portrait. Maybe he'd also help me come up with ideas for new animals and creatures to sculpt for my research gallery.
Lmao look what you did anon, you got me writing self insert fic for the first time in over a decade 🤣

I definitely ran overly long on the last prompt and Tumblr's word limit cut me off! Because of this, I'm going to finish up the prompt here!
Cashew – Okay, I’ll openly admit Cashew’s my favourite of the phone flings! And nobody, not even the creators themselves, will ever convince me this good, bookish boy is not studying Library Sciences to become a librarian! Which is why Librarian by My Morning Jacket is the song I really associate with him.
Boss – I can’t place quite why because by all extents and purposes, his phone fling was the silliest out of all of them, but Boss seems like a really, really stressed guy. Like the kind of guy who is a workaholic and has indigestion from chronic stress but can’t let go of any of it really and can’t seem to ask for help even though it’s obvious he needs it. When I was thinking of songs for him, even though it initially doesn’t seem like it should fit, Help! by The Beatles really kept popping back into my head and that’s the one I decided to go with!
Felix – Felix is the quintessential bad boy that your parents would hate but you just can’t stay away from. Is it any wonder I chose Bad to the Bone by George Thorogood for him?
Reece – As with a lot of the others on the list, gotta pay homage to the obvious inspiration while also trying to fit the character. Couldn’t resist and definitely had to go with the upbeat, energetic, and then strangely mysterious, seductive, and almost dangerous Boom Town Suite from the Doctor Who soundtrack!
Ace – My second favourite baseball boy! This man just…yum, yum, he looks good with that bat in his hand and he’s just got this bright, welcoming demeanor! Is there any doubt I think of the good, old classic Take Me Out to the Ball Game?
Ferris – My poor, poor Ferris. This boy needs a cup of coffee, some Advil, and more than a few days off! He’s definitely stressed out, burning the candle at both ends, and so overworked. He can definitely sympathize with and deeply connects to Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5!
Poe – So, to reference a chat between Poe and Marshmallow, and because, let’s be honest, this little emo boy absolutely adores Marilyn Manson, I had to use Sweet Dreams by Marilyn Manson. Also, fun fact about the writer but this is one of the few songs where I love the cover version more than the original!
Logan – He’d hate it. This song actually, in my headcanon, makes him irrationally angry any time someone so much as hums it. He takes firefighting so seriously, after all. But I definitely think of Burning Down the House by Talking Heads every time Logan shows up on my screen!
Finn – Again, playing into obvious associations and inspirations, but it’s always Song of Storms from Zelda for the cutest Link expy! That and this is a solid song and always pretty enjoyable…nothing amazing, honestly, but solid and that’s about my thoughts on Finn. Oh, and if I remember correctly, can’t you actually make him play this song or something really similar?
Leo – The Cyborg Fights from the One Punch Man Soundtrack, of course! Aside from the obvious Genos inspiration, Leo is a cyborg…and he fights. Pretty damn explanatory, haha!
Seth – Stirling is a devil…literally. That’s what he is, he’s canonically from hell but honestly, a pretty stand up guy. Charming, slightly manipulative, not much in the way of morals, but overall still a damn good guy! I think Sympathy for the Devil from The Rolling Stones definitely sums Seth up pretty nicely (saying this without fully getting him levelled up so I might be proven wrong!)
Jaxon – Going with the very natural, obviously Australian vibes here. This is upbeat enough, has got a sense of adventure to it while still hinting at some melancholic touches so I had to go with Dabo’s Tales of Goapan for Handpan and Didgeridoo! Jaxon is an outdoorsman, an Aussie, and with the fact he’s mourning some things, I do feel this is such a great fit for him.
Drake – Okay, but Drake is at a magic school where the uniforms are very Hogwarts-esque (not to mention the school is actually named Snogwarts). He needs to practice magic, and he’s got this thing with a figure called He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Referenced? You’re damn right I can’t help but use a Harry Potter song! In this case, I thought The Dueling Club from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets soundtrack was really the right fit for Drake!
Theo – Theo’s this fun, happy, charismatic gamer boy who’s just super easy to talk to. Gaming is something he’s really into, so I associate him strongly with video game remixes, but particularly the Animal Crossing Title Screen Synthwave Remix!
Basil – Again, playing to theming here. Basil looks a lot like Sherlock Holmes and even has you solve a mystery in his chat with you. He’s a master detective, with sharp analytical skills and keen observational skills. I can’t help but fall into the trap of thinking Sherlock for him, so the song I strongly associate with him is Spark’s Sherlock Holmes!
Fabian – Ariel ain’t got nothing on Fabian! Arrogant and confident that everything under water is so much better than on land, I can’t help but sing the opening notes to Under the Sea from The Little Mermaid soundtrack.
Nico – Nico loves music, especially music you can dance to. A DJ by trade, I definitely think any song that suits him has to be something you could find him playing in the club. I can’t explain exactly why but dubstep is definitely something I associate strongly with the character so that was the direction I went in. Flux Pavilion’s Bass Cannon is the one I settled on – it’s just impossible not to move to!
Mikey – Mikey’s whole shtick is food, and I just couldn’t resist – it’s definitely Weird Al’s Eat It for me!
Alfie Alfalfa – Given the obvious inspiration for the character, the catchy, energetic beat of the song, and how much I think Alfie would love the song, I went with Driving with the Top Down from the Iron Man soundtrack!
Sascha Ton van Twilhaar – Given his princely nature and his clothing and theming, it definitely had to be something with a sort of Persian theming. It had to be slow and sensual and charming so I kind of am heavily leaning towards Babak Afshar’s Ghesseh Dou Mahi for Sascha!
Sven – It’s the Sonic the Hedgehog theme, in particular the Sonic X theme, and we all know why!
Cole – Cole is yandere to the highest degree. He’s more than a little unhinged and so fixated on Marshmallow. It’s confirmed in game he stalks Marshmallow and everyone around them and I definitely have to go with Every Breath You Take by The Police, even if it is super obvious!

The Penguins are Naked and Extremely Dangerous
"Nothing makes you remember how much you love something like it being taken away. As the Penguins sit at their stalls tonight taping up their sticks for the start of another grueling season, and as you anxiously settle in to your couch for the annual roller-coaster of emotions, picture this: Picture your life without it.
Picture Crosby sitting in the bedroom of his parents’ too-silent house in Halifax, staring at his reflection in his idle television. Picture Malkin begging the coaching staff to let him play in Game 7 of last season’s series against Tampa Bay despite doctor’s orders, then helplessly deking a puck in the locker room as the team struggled to score in a 1-0 loss.
Picture what you love being gone tomorrow.
Perhaps last season's painful lessons will push Crosby, Malkin and the Penguins to even greater heights.
Enjoy the season—every single game of it, from the scoreless Wednesday night affairs in half-full New Jersey to the barn-burners in hostile Philadelphia. Because this rare genius, this improbable collection of talent in one hockey-obsessed city, is fleeting. "
posting this to remind myself that no matter how bad this season is going at least there's still hockey in pittsburgh; at least sid and geno are still playing together.

forrest im gonna catch up on the manga and i haven't read it in m o n t h s but before that can i get your official, murata-sponsored summary of events?
yes i am asking for the most bullshit explanation of what ive missed that your brain can come up with
Yeah sure I’ll tell you where everyone’s at, more or less. Thanks for asking, I hope you’ll catch up soon! It’s getting kinda interesting actually.
Murata didn’t wanna sponsor this bc I broke into his house last week but it was kinda his fault because he forgot to take my key away so… he is aware of it, at least. I hope that’s good enough.
Genos: got his batteries stolen and dumped by his cyboyfriend—tried to save tatsumaki, lost all his arms and legs to a bunch of little dust mites and is now lying on top of her trying to mitigate the damage while watching Seinfeld reruns.
Zombieman: has the tightest little ass on this side of the hemisphere. Going to jail for indecent exposure and assaulting a homeless man. Also, lived underground for a brief amount of time before rent got too high and emerged like a little groundhog. Has pebbles up his ass canonically.
Fuhrer Ugly: turned into a giant booger and then died because he fell over.
Black/Golden/Platinum Sperm: uhhh still alive. Kinda just bullying Genos and evolving as a side hustle.
Silverfang: got beat up and robbed by some teenager outside of a 7/11. Is currently on the floor crying. Canonically gets bitches.
Bomb: also got beat up and robbed by some teenager outside of a 7/11. Is currently on the floor crying. Canonically gets no bitches.
Garou: Also lived underground for a brief amount of time before rent got too high and emerged like a ugly shit idiot groundhog. Is now faster than the speed of light, has a little exoskeleton like a cockroach, literally just bounced around for a few pages just to kill like 3 people, and now he’s here and 95% naked. Currently looks like a Jolteon. Canonically gets no bitches.
Fubuki: unconscious
Tanktop Master: unconscious
Tatsumaki: unconscious
Homeless Emperor:
Tumblr media
Psykos: unconscious?
Bushidrill: unconscious
Okamaitachi: unconscious
God: Big dick. On the moon. Can set people on fire by looking at them. Currently on trial for murder of a homeless man. Plead not guilty. Verdict will come next chapter.
Drive Knight: sitting by the fireplace in his laboratory drinking some of that Abuelita Hot Chocolate and feeding Nyan some of that Friskies tuna flavored can o’ shit.
Metal Knight: “I told you so.”
Child Emperor: got promoted to Team Manager at the age of ten. Also lived underground for a brief amount of time before rent got too high and Puri Puri Prisoner was sent to evict him.
Sekingar: lost an arm. Became 1000% hotter. That’s it. That’s his arc.
Metal Bat: Ran 25 straight miles to the fight and is learning to cope with his concussion by beating Black Sperm into little splats on the concrete. Thinks brain damage is just a concept invented by big pharma. Canonically has a single brain cell.
Puri-Puri Prisoner: backbone of the operation. Is currently being crushed under the weight of being the responsible one, for once. Has surprisingly not violated his probation this entire time.
Superalloy Darkshine: I deadass don’t remember, actually. He cried for a while and then was cool for like a single page before getting conked so uuuh unconscious, maybe?
Iaian: Gay awakening via Superalloy. Is sent on a quest for the Moon Blade by proxy.
Atomic Samurai: Nearly died. Got a cool sword. Nearly died. Rooted for King. Nearly died. Is now obligated to go on a lifelong quest for the counterpart to his cool new sword. Might also have another near-death experience.
The Council of Swordmasters: dead as hell.
Spring Mustachio: Left the scene to go to therapy. Will come back to the HA after he has a doctor’s note saying he’s fit to get fucked up again. Golden Ball proposed, it was a big thing. They’re gonna get married in 11 years.
Evil Natural Water: turns out his weakness was being punched a lot of times really fast so he’s now just Natural Water, I guess. He costs 99 cents at your local supermarket and looks like this:
Tumblr media
Saitama: has now arrived at the scene via DILF teleportation.
Manako: has now arrived at the scene via DILF teleportation.
Flashy Flash: has now arrived at the scene via DILF teleportation. Also has a juicy ass.
Blast: has DILF teleportation.
King: killed all the cadres AND God with his ultra megadeath lazer beam and is canonically the strongest person to ever live. Saitama fears him.

Hi, not sure if this had been asked before, but I'm curious about your opinion. Assuming he won't die during a battle, how long do you think Genos will live? I think a lot of people view him as some (semi) immortal being, who will surely outlive Saitama. But somehow I always thought the opposite, like isn't living in a combat cyborg body puts a lot of strain/stress on your brain? There's probably a significant brain disease development risk. I'm not a doctor or anything, obviously, just my thoghts 😅
Also, another similiar question: how long do you think it took Genos to fully adapt to his cyborg body and be ready to use weaponry?
No, it's not been asked before. This is the sort of question that really is above my paygrade to answer seriously, but let me take half a stab at it. Remember that I am oversimplifying a very complex subject matter horribly.
When you take all of life's insults out of the equation, and even inherent matters like genetic defects out too, then what governs ultimate age is a race between how long the fabric of our body lasts and how long our key tissues can self-renew for. The fabric of our bodies, the extracellular matrix that comprises the scaffold of our tissues is generally laid down ONCE! and then it just gets repaired as best possible but never renewed. Our lungs are generally good for about 110 years to give one example and likewise, our other tissues have a limit to how long they last. The other side of the equation, self-renewal, is especially critical for blood cells. When super-aged people die (110+ years), typically all their blood cells are found to be clones of what was literally their last hematopoetic stem cell. The upper estimate of how long a human being can live runs somewhere between 120 -125 years, but no one's been attested to have made it to 125 years yet (see note 1).
That's under perfect conditions. There are many many things that shorten lifespan. Trauma and infections are obvious ones, as are non-infections diseases, environmental exposure to harmful materials, and cancers, but chronic stress is a huge, huge life shortener. Whether it comes from the mere fact of being socially disadvantaged, difficult to resolve emotional or psychological distress, a sense of isolation, a sense of irrelevance (huge killer of older adults), a part of illness or starvation, ongoing financial difficulty, whatever its source, all of it accelerates ageing, depending on how intense, how prolonged, and when it comes into one's life. The right kinds of stressors can steal lifespan before one is even born, but again, that's outside the remit of this ask.
So, let's get to Genos. If tomorrow, his problems were to be resolved satisfactorily and he's in a good place socially, financially, and emotionally, how long could he live? A big part of that depends on what body he has. If he has 'only' his brain, then his life expectancy is on the order of 1 - 2 months as there's no possibility of renewing the all-important blood cells. But if that were the case, leaving the lab for more than a few days at a time would have been impossible. If he's built on the same sort of terms as Erimin and Destro (with just under a tenth of their bodies left), then he may have enough body to self-maintain and self-renew and then he'll have the regular constraints of a human life, barring any accident due to being a cyborg.
But there's more. Stress-wise, Genos has been burning through his lifespan at a terrifying rate. It doesn't help either that he grew up poor -- childhood poverty is a big thief of lifespan. Hard to say, but if things get better for him soon, somewhere between 50 and 70 years should be achievable, if nothing goes wrong. Which is not bad for a guy who was supposed to have died at 15.
And say what one likes, no one can accuse Genos of taking tomorrow for granted.
Asides
A reasonably accessible review on the matter https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-022-00070-1
The influence of childhood experiences last a lifetime https://www.nytimes.com/2001/05/07/us/nuns-offer-clues-to-alzheimer-s-and-aging.html
Increasingly, you'll not just hear of lifespan, but healthy lifespan, the length of time one can expect to live before experiencing life-limiting chronic illness. There, environment and social standing make a huge difference. For example, in England, people living in the least deprived areas can expect nearly 20 years more healthy life than those in the most https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/healthandsocialcare/healthinequalities/bulletins/healthstatelifeexpectanciesbyindexofmultipledeprivationimd/2018to2020
A more popular (https://www.apa.org/monitor/2014/10/chronic-stress) and more scientific (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3428505/) overview of the influence of stress on ageing.
Finding a reasonable article on the influence of the extracellular matrix (the scaffold that makes up our tissues) on ageing and organ function that's neither woo nor excessively scientific eludes me for now. In the meantime: WEAR SUNSCREEN! EVEN IF YOU'RE BLACK! Your skin will not recover from the extrinsic ageing of sun damage and your future self will thank you.

Speaking of emotional betrayal being the theme...
Just when you begin to trust someone wholeheartedly, they flip the switch on you and pull the R.I.P cord.
Tumblr media
What is something that Genos would absolutely not take well?
Ofc, it is that betrayal of his trust. When he trusted in Saitama wholeheartedly to pull through. When he put his life on the line, knowing full well he could not play for anything but time, being completely useless as a mere torso.
At the back of his mind, after his naivety was shredded to itty bitty pieces, he's been secretly plotting the end of everyone who participated in killing him. He would not act on it normally because he has morals and he cares a lot, but at the deepest, darkest recesses of his mind, he's been entertaining that thought. Taking revenge. It is the very core foundation which his character is built on.
The building block of that teetering Jenga tower of his life that he calls home of his heart and his very existence.
Make no mistake, Genos will always pay his dividends when it comes to matters of the heart. With his love...or with bloodshed. That is why he is the second Horseman of War within Saitama's very self, one which Saitama has to defeat.
Tumblr media
That is the darkest, emotionally coldest, form of the ISFJ who is afraid to emotionally trust people. It's like a different personality, cold, logical and absolutely ruthless like a robot AI that has no heart and no soul at all when it's put under a lock and key, never to be opened again. He pours his entire being, his very soul, into forming those emotional connections when the trusts them enough and takes that leap of faith. And he would sever those connections like a horcrux and toss that diary into the pits if it became clear that there is no more hope for anybody involved and burn it all down.
Like the tree of Teldrassil that Sylvanas Windrunner burned down to the ground, he too would burn the metaphorical tree of life sprouting within himself.
And make no mistake, he will have his revenge. One way or another. And nobody will be the wiser of his masterplan. Especially the one who trusts in his guidance the most. Never tell your enemies what you are scheming behind their backs.
Genos is the steering wheel and Saitama will do anything-
Genos. Tells. Him. to do.
Anything at all. Anything to keep that one attachment he has grown to hold dearest to him and be his life support system. Genos absolutely has the power to steer him in the wrong direction.
Never underestimate the lenghts to where Genos is willing to detour if he was to let himself Go.
Don't provoke the sleeping dragon.
That is the last thing you should ever do.
If you do, tell everyone who needs to hear it...
Genos sends his regards.
Revenge is a dish best served as cold as the frigidness of planet Pluto itself. Absolute zero.
Tumblr media
Genos chooses who lives and who dies and writes the script, like the good Doctor, Doctor Who and himself as the Dr. Otto Gunther Octavius.
Saitama is the Weeping angel in this revenge story.
Tumblr media
Genos will satisfy his need for revenge...before moving on and pulling out the plug on the life support system, since he cannot let it go otherwise.
(Remember that Genos' core has load of divine power in it, Saitama has imparted him with his own divine power and he has all the memories and feelings associated with knowing whatever Saitama's psyche went through in the moon, which is to say, every bit of knowledge. Biggest middle finger you will ever see and won't see coming, because Genos is in for the worst or best ride of his life if Saitama keeps shut about the nature of his powers/is never willing to explore them and what he inadverently dragged Genos and others into.)

Chapter 1: Blast to the past (Not edited)
You don't have to read this cause it basically the same thing from part 6 695  to 757with random comment crammed in this chappie I'll probably NOT change it.
———
Quickly after fresh gets a tantrum about how Genos about to die and how he's his brother and all that jazz, Error starts to hyperventilate asking if Geno will be okay to Asy then Asy promises something impossible that Geno will survive (PS: he does) Quickly after that promise error runs away scared of what's to come to his beloved older brother, Geno. Asy hesitates to go after Error for a while scared of what would happen if he left both Cq and Fresh after a bit of self contemplating Asy goes "SHIT" and runs after Error while screaming his name "ERROR!" leaving Cq and Fresh behind. During this Error starts having memories resurfacing about Geno while also silently crying mumbling Genos name "Geno- Geno- No..." while running down a flight of stairs trying to stop his yellow tears he then runs down to the floor below Geno's floor and sits down on a bench crying, hyperventilating, Mumbling, and panting all at the same time "hngh... Geno... >Hic< Geno... >Hic<" This whole time Errors glitching start to grow stronger and stronger. After a good long cry and wailing, he looks at his hand, and yet another memory surfaces, but oh no that wasn't the last straw once he remembered Geno's scarf and suddenly he goes into a full-blown panic attack as unintelligible and unrelated words start swirling out of his voice shaking rapidly and quietly "Dont forget-" "No- Sto-op-" "Do-ont fo-fo-rget" curled up in a ball oblivious of the monster that stumbled upon his shaking form, the said monster starts investigating and observing Error before talking to him, "You're not one of mine. But I see why. You... what? Class S?" The monster questioned to a CLEARLY confused Error"Eh? Wh- what-??" "NEVERMIND." "You're CLEARLY on a verge of a crash. Is there a parent or a guardian nearby?" With that Error was reminded that he ran away and is lost "No- nooooo-!" Error is then told to do a breathing exercise to slow down the crash from happening. Suddenly Error bursts a tantrum upon the monster doctor Error assumes is one.(Geez Error, Get a chill pill or go to anger management or sumthing) The said Monster doctor touches Error making Error screech loudly and cause a crash "Oh boy..." Oh boy, indeed monster doctor for this is just the beginning of something HUGE. As the monster doctor leaves the scene with Error to somewhere (probably the lost and found) audience switches back to Cq and Fresh. Cq gets told by Fresh that he survived saying if he didn't they would come out already. Just as Fresh was starting to become emotional a certain Skeleton came and ruined the moment "MOM!!" Geno yelled running ur of his room. the two brothers present in the mommet both hug Geno then starts to call out for Error only to realize he wasn't with them, he quested where he was and Cq answered "H-he.. ran off Asy- uh- thinks he found him, they... are coming back-" Geno silently asks for an uppy hug. Cq breaks the moment by saying Geno looked better than before as Geno also adds that he also felt better than before too. Suddenly as a human doctor walks out of Geno's room Cq asks what happened in a very surprised and concerned tone. just as the human doctor was starting to explain Cq cuts him off and explains her son ran off and wants him back. The audience is then switched back to Error but his time he's asleep (shh) just as Error wakes up he meets a Frog Monster 1st words after walking up "WHAT THE HELL?!" the frog monster's name was shouted right after "EVELYNN" the Monster doctor never told his name though so we are calling him monster doctor till he does don't complain. "how do you feel" Error get asked as he looks down as his hands "Fine" "that's good wanna talk about it?" "No." "One of THOSE  kids huh?" The monster doctor then starts to scold Error that he can't run from what he running from forever while he does Error find a weird chip on his for arm and yells "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?!" Monster doctor starts to explain which I wont type cause it long af, its a crash booster that reduces memory lost and improves emotional stability something like that-- shit I literally
just typed it in-- nvm... Error then yells "THATS A THING?!" and monster doctor simply replies a yes saying that it has been for a few years now with that Asy then runs into the room and says it the finding room (aww... at least I was close right?) with that the two males reunite once more. Asy starts to ask questions concerning Error but was cut off once Error yelled his name with uncle in it "WHAT ABOUT GENO?!" Asy replied saying he didn't know. Monster Doctor then asks if Geno was a patient Asy replies truthfully. Asy thanks monster doctor but stop after Mr cause he dont know his name, "Dr. Kalinsk, actually. It was nothing, really. You seem to have pressing manners-" "Still-" no I was only doing my job - Still-"(Finally he said his name ;-;)  "If that boy has any further issues– Feel free to call me." Kalinsk informed the two males. He gave them his job phone number thingy "Thank you I'll talk to his mother." Asy confesses, once again Asy thanks him once more. The audience is switched AGAIN to Cq, Fresh and Geno (And that human doctor but he irrelevant to the story so--) Cq announces that Asy found Error. Geno then asks a question if he was okay, Cq said he was. Cq then told the Human doctor to keep going. "As I was saying Geno has a dual-traital soul. Dual-traital souls are very rare - about one in forty thousand But WHY his second trait was hidden for so long... Well- I don't have an answer. Studies on the soul are still very difficult and under utilized- but for whatever reason, it's there now. And its seems to be stabilizing his... well... EVERYTHING." Explained the human doctor, The kiddos in the room then were talking how you would've thought it would show up in a scan or something "Normally, yes, but Geno's soul only ever registered as functional ay MAYBE 10% the average capacity. NOW it putting up to almost 120%." The human doctor added to the brothers conversation. as the human doctor explain more  Cq started crying and pulled the two into a hug. The human doctor then smiles at the sight of the small family. Suddenly during the hug Error and Asy entered the room. Error then ran to Geno while the both yelled each others name. Error started to ask questions worriedly. Geno then drags Error into the hug. Asy then pulls up his phones camera app and takes a photo of the small but now happy family.(Not for long) The audience then switches to another photo Asy took of the brothers.

Crossover Yandere Delta Warriors And Kris’s Three Souls
-----------------------------
Credit for Steven Universe Series goes to Rebecca Sugar
Credit for Deltarune & Undertale goes to Toby Fox
Credit for Hazbin Hotel & Helluva Boss goes to Vivienne “Vivziepop” Medrano & Spindlehorse
Credit for Yandere Simulator goes to YandereDev
------------------------
I do plan to post this drawing at the other place I post fan art at.
also the reason why Ayano has different color eyes,
has to do with the Genocide Route, Neutral Route and True Pacifist Route of Yandere Simulator.
like depending how we play, if we go full Geno-Route
our eyes, well Ayano’s eyes....become Red.
but if we befriend a rival and help other students, and not kill anyone in yandere simulator.....
Ayano’s eyes will become blue.
why Sans is wearing Steven Universe’s clothes and Pink Steven being right next to him should be obvious.
it has to do with Sans and Steven being one in the same.
and when the Human Half of Steven died, he was reborn as Sans
but the gem half that makes “Pink-Steven” reforms but Human-Steven is not close by and most likely left to maybe to go live with his new family, his new Dad that speaks in hands and his new little brother Papyrus.
the dark purple soul belongs to Knight, the light turquoise blue soul belongs to Kris, and the Red Soul belongs to the Player.
I believe that before the Player’s Red Soul ends up in Deltarune (in Chapter 1), the Knight who is the Dark Purple Soul had made Kris’s life miserable by pulling dark pranks on others, even if Kris could pull some pranks....they would not willingly cross the line, that would be the Knight’s doing.
yeah I have a theory that the Knight had done dark pranks by making Kris do them and making everyone believe it was Kris, while technically it was but at the same time it was against Kris’s will.
think about it, we never did any of those dark pranks that those in Deltarune mention.
so it makes sense that it is the work of the Knight, who’s soul has been controlling Kris before we got there.
and the only time Knight does take control,
is when they are about to do something sneaky and they rip our soul from Kris’s body and the reason why Kris doesn’t fight back is because the Knight is much stronger than them.
it is possible that the only time we are stronger than the Knight, is during the day time in the Lightner’s World and when we are in the Dark World.
but once Nighttime happens, the Knight has the power to control Kris and pull us the Players.
so if this is true, this means that Kris has two souls in them trying to fight for control.....one being the villain known as the “Knight”
and the other being us the Player, the Red Soul.
I see that as fan headcanon.
in theory if the Crystal Gems and Connie, didn’t know that Steven died and became Sans.....
like it happen some time after the end of Steven Universe Future.
Sans might have Alphys help with that, by cloning a homunculus steven body, that the Pink-Steven will be put in and make it so that no one knows Steven had died and became a Magical Talking Skeleton.
well that could be one way to keep the Crystal Gems, Connie, Greg and everyone else from Beach City from finding out what happen to Steven....if he had died off-screen and was brought back to life by Gaster as Sans.
I would like to see a crossover fan art with the meme
Gaster: *hugging Sans* stay away from my Son.
Greg Universe: but he’s my Son!!
Gaster:.........Stay Away From YOUR Ex-Son......who is now MY Son.
even if we love Steven Universe
(and some of us do love Steven Universe Future)
at least we now know now that the Steven Universe Future,
was NOT the start of Steven’s problems......it was just the boiling point.
Greg was not a great dad, something we should of seen from the start of the first Season but couldn’t.
I plan to re-watch the first series of Steven Universe, to really watch it
and notice the stuff that we never truly notice before....
like even if the Crystal Gems did make some mistakes with how they treated Steven most of the time during his childhood.
and Amethyst did start to become a better big sister to Steven,
like with the whole finding out his Mom is Pink Diamond.
even if not a lot of fans liked Steven Universe Future, because of different reasons....
but we have to acknowledge the problem Steven was having didn’t start in the Steven Universe Future.....it started in the first series.
even if Steven had his good days, he did end up with trauma and he didn’t see a doctor until Steven Universe Future....
which you can thank his “Ex-Dad Greg” for that.
most families have excuses for not being able to go to a doctor.
after becoming rich, Greg could of hired Steven a tutor
and send him to school.....though I don’t think you have to be rich to do that.....at least I don’t think so.
but we can’t place the blame on Steven, even if his Human and Gem Family loves him dearly....
it doesn’t help that Greg and Connie form a “Human Beings Club”
kind of excluding Steven and making him feel a type of negative emotion.
I believe what Steven was feeling when he also says “human beings.”
was a type of negative feeling, but like still wanting to be included in the human bonding that his Dad and Best Friend (Future Girlfriend) were having.
Greg was a bit disappointing in the episode where he took Steven to where his parents lived.....
just when Steven was becoming more better and even enjoyed finding out about his Dad’s past.....Greg only made things worse again,
when he couldn’t understand why his own son was upset with him.
there might of been more to the story of Greg’s Parents than what Greg told so far.....it is possible that one of Greg’s parents had very sensitive hearing and couldn’t handle really loud music.
and Greg could of broke that rule many times and that is why his parents don’t allow any music in the house.
even if that episode tried to play that Greg was a victim, it might not be 100% true.....
yes Pink’s punishments were unjust at times, but we have to remember how bad she was before she given Earth.
so most of her punishments were just, meaning she deserved them.
while other times she didn’t deserve them at all.
the problem might be that both Greg’s Parents
and Blue & Yellow Diamond, would punish Greg and Pink even at times when they didn’t deserve it.....
but it could be that before they did start punishing them,
they let them get away with so much and one point both of them crossed a line that it became too much for Greg’s Parents and even Yellow & Blue, and they had no choice but to ground them
to Greg’s Room and Pink’s Tower.
once again the problem with Steven
didn’t start in Steven Universe Future,
it started at the very beginning in Steven Universe.
the the boiling point maybe started in the Steven Universe Movie,
then the breaking point started in the Steven Universe Future.
not all fans of Steven Universe, have to like Steven Universe Future.
I happen to love Steven Universe, Steven Universe Future and the Movie.
but we have to try to come to terms that the problems Steven was having, didn’t start in Steven Universe Future.
it started in Steven Universe, and even if not a lot of fans will accept that.....well it is their choice, and they should accept it by their own free will to.
I do plan to re-watch the first series to see if Steven had more than one bad experience which would of been one of the first problems he had before his breaking point in Steven Universe Future.
I know at first I thought of the Steven Universe Future
as the time he had his boiling point, but in correction it would be his breaking point that would get worse over time.
the boiling point would be the first stage, which would start in Steven Universe Future.....when more of his mother’s past misdeeds would come to light.
the breaking point would slowly consume and get stronger for Steven, to the point where he would end up becoming Monster-Steven.
Steven becomes a gem monster because of all the negative emotions,
he only gets better once everyone realize what they didn’t do for him.
being there for him when he needs it.
at times we could pretend that everything is fine for others,
like acting like we are only a little sad but doing pretty okay now.
but that might not be for the best....even if we might think it is.
Sans might be a future version of Steven,
who had gotten better and learned from his past, but could still hold on to some form of bitter memories.
like what if the one calling Connie, when Steven proposed to her...
wasn’t Connie’s Mom but was a Boy that Connie was Dating.
and she still liked Steven, but couldn’t bring herself to tell Steven.
well hopefully that isn’t true and that was just Connie’s Mom.
we know that a lot of fans were worried for their ship.
well the Sadie and Lars Ship had became the Friend Zone Ship.
meaning it went from “I Ship It” to “I Bud It”
Shep seems nice though, when I did first see them on the opening I didn’t know if they were a boy or a girl.....
but it turns out they are nonbinary, so it’s nice that the episode where they officially appeared on (as well as their bio.) had confirmed Shep’s identity.
I think I still need to figure out the whole Gyno-Agender
or Feminine-Nonbinary thing.....
I wonder how many fans of both Yandere Simulator and Undertale/Deltarune.....
would think that Fun-Girl from Yandere Simulator,
reminds them of Gaster....?
well Fun-Girl does remind me of Gaster, it be nice if both games did canon crossovers.
well there is that Yanderetale,
but maybe that is only Semi-Canon.....maybe?
there is another crossover drawing I did, that has to do with Undertale/Deltarune and even another game....
but I will wait until tomorrow to post it.
hope some of you like this drawing.
I wonder if it be weird to Crossover ship Sans x Collin....?
I will think about it, but it might leave me a little sheepish. lol

-Little Crosby- |D. Cozens| [Epilogue/Part 8]
This is the end of Little Crosby and I don’t think I've ever been this sad for one of my fics to end. I fell in love with Dylan and Ava’s story and I absolutely loved getting to write this with @prettyboycozens. This story turned into something I never thought it would and I am so thankful to everyone who supported, encouraged and got to read this story! So thank you for all the love and support for Little Crosby! Enjoy the last part!
“Momma?” I hear Wes call from the top of the stairs as Dylan tugs me down onto the couch next to him.
“We’re down here, Baby!” I call, relaxing into Dylan’s arms. Wes is 4 now and looks just like Dylan. Dad says he acts just like me though. He’s your typical little boy, all dirt, loud and hockey. He loves hockey, of course, and getting to go to his dad, grandpa and uncles’ games and spending time with all of his family. He’s grown up surrounded by cousins which he absolutely loves, even if they are 3 hours away.
“We have to leave for dinner in about 15 minutes. Are you ready?” I ask, looking up at Dylan. He shrugs and I move off of him, letting him get up.
“I need to change and let the dog out, then we can leave.” He says, heading back to our room. Wes runs out of his room. He rushes down the stairs and jumps up onto the couch, a Sabres jersey hanging off of his already tall and skinny frame. As he jumps, I see a flash of black and I smile. Underneath the Cozens jersey he has on is a Crosby jersey; the one Dad got him for Christmas last year. When he knows he’s gonna see Dad, he always wears both jerseys.
“Hey Buddy, why don’t we pick one jersey to wear tonight? You’ll want the other one clean for tomorrow’s game.” I say, walking over to the couch and sitting down as he bounces over to me.
“We’re gonna see Grandpa! We’re gonna see Grandpa!” Wes yells, still jumping on the couch.
“Yes we are. Why don’t we take Daddy’s jersey off and you can wear it tomorrow. Wear Grandpa’s tonight.” He finally stops and lets me tug the Sabres jersey over his head, leaving the black Crosby jersey on.
It’s been 6 years since the Canada trip that Dylan and I met on. Dylan and I have been living in Buffalo for 5 years, having just moved into a new house right before Wes’ last birthday. We still haven’t gotten married but the ring Dylan gave me all those years ago, that still has a place on my finger, still reminds me and him about the promise he made, what seems like forever ago in that hospital bed. So we’ll get around to getting married one day. Everything’s been going wonderfully in Buffalo. Dylan’s been playing well, Wes is loving preschool and I’m working at a doctor’s office as a pediatric nurse. With it being the first time I’m more than 20 minutes away from Dad and my family, even after 6 years, it’s taken a while to get used to planning weekend trips to Pittsburgh and Chicago to visit Dad and the uncles, along with Kirby and Carter.
Carter and Kirby stayed together while Carter was in college on the west coast, and are talking about getting married now that she’s graduated, which is really exciting. My uncles’ kids have all started to grow up and become actual humans, which has been really fun to watch. They’re all happy and living life. The biggest change has been that Marc and his family moved back to Pittsburgh. He ended up getting traded back to Pittsburgh, which meant our not so little family was all together again, at least when Dylan and I come to Pittsburgh. He plans on retiring in Pittsburgh with Dad, Kris and Geno, when the time comes.
“Come on Dylan! We’re going to be late for dinner!” I call as Wes returns to bouncing on the couch. Dylan finally comes out of our bedroom, our dog following behind him.
“Let me let Milo out then we can leave.” He calls as he opens the back sliding door and Milo runs out, barking. Dad had called a family meeting while he and my uncles were on a road trip to Buffalo. He usually only calls family meetings when something important happened so I was a little nervous to see what he needed to tell us. We were meeting at a restaurant about 20 minutes away from the house with a big room since there were going to be all 16 of us together in Buffalo, for the first time since Christmas. Dad hadn’t mentioned anything happening the last time he and I had talked on the phone earlier this week but maybe something had happened since then. Wes climbed into my lap and snuggled into my chest. I knew he wouldn’t stay this little forever but I wanted him to. I loved how his big brown eyes somehow managed to get bigger when he was talking about something exciting. I loved how he talked with his hands, waving and pointing to make sure everyone understood exactly what he was saying. Most of all, I loved how he called me “Momma” and loved to cuddle and be cuddled. Dylan and I had talked about having more kids, which I loved the idea of, but I was savoring every minute of it being just the 3 of us.
“Okay Baby, let’s get going.” Dylan says as he lets Milo back inside and gets him into his cage.
“I’m nervous, why am I nervous?” I ask as Dylan tugs his coat on then kneels down to help Wes zip his coat and put his shoes on.
“Because the last family meeting your dad called was when we told your uncles you were pregnant?” I roll my eyes and zip my coat up.
“You’re really not helping.” Dylan laughs as he picks Wes up and we head out the door.
“Maybe he’s retiring?” Dylan offers as I climb into the passenger seat and he straps Wes into his carseat. Wes is preoccupied by his ipad, oblivious to what Dylan and I are talking about.
“He would’ve told me first. If it was something that big. But I really have no idea what it could be.”  Dylan shrugs as he gets into the driver’s seat.
“Babe, it could be nothing. Maybe he just wants us all together. Don’t think too much into it.” He says, softly kissing my cheek before starting the car. We drive in silence, the only sound in the car is Wes’ ipad. As we pull into the parking lot of the restaurant, I see Carter and Kirby heading inside.
“Okay this must be really big. Carter and Kirby are here too.” I say, trying to fight the building anxiety rising in my chest. Dad wasn’t old, only 39, but he had been playing in the NHL for 21 years. Maybe he really was retiring. Or maybe something else had happened.
“Momma! I’m hungry!” Wes cried from the backseat, his ipad now forgotten on the seat next to him.
“Alright Buddy, we’re gonna go inside and see all your cousins and aunts and uncles, and Grandpa. It looks like Aunt Carter and Uncle Kirby are here too!” I say, turning around and smiling at him as Dylan puts the car in park. Wes bounces excitedly in his seat, waiting for Dylan and I to get out and unbuckle him. Carter must’ve seen us because she and Kirby are waiting in front of the restaurant for us.
“Whatever Dad tells us, promise me it’s gonna be okay?” I ask, looking over at Dylan before climbing out of the car.
“It’s gonna be okay. Everything’s gonna be fine.” He says, watching me with intent eyes. I nod and open Wes’ door, unbuckling him and holding him close.
“I wanna go see Uncle Kirby, Momma!” He shouts, excitedly. So I let him down once we reach the sidewalk and he runs to Kirby who scoops him up and tickles him. Dylan’s hand finds mine and we meet up with Carter and Kirby.
“Any idea why we got told to come to Buffalo for the weekend?” Carter asks. I shrug and she grimaces a little.
“Are we in trouble?” She asks, taking Kirby’s hand as Wes runs ahead of us and waits at the door to the restaurant.
“Not that I know of. Why, did you do something to get us in trouble?” I ask, nudging her and laughing. She shakes her head and leads the 5 of us into the restaurant. The hostess leads us back to the room where my 3 nephews are running laps around the table while my nieces are huddled in the corner with one of my aunts. Wes runs to join the boys and I spot Dad on the other side of the room with Kris. We exchange a wave and I notice a woman I’m not familiar with next to him. Geno and Marc are sitting at the table, making sure the boys don’t break anything.
“Who’s the lady?” Kirby asks, attempting to hide himself pointing at the woman next to Dad.
“Your guess is as good as mine, Kirbs.” I say, shrugging as Dad walks over to me.
“Hi Sweetheart, good to see you!” He says as my hand slips out of Dylan’s and he hugs me. No matter how old I get, my anxiety seems to melt away whenever Dad hugs me.
“You know, you’ve had me freaking out ever since you called me to tell me about dinner.” I say as Wes jumps into Dad’s arms.
“Hi Buddy! I told you on the phone there was nothing to be worried about, Ava.” I cross my arms and look up at him.
“Uh huh. You know how I get, Dad.” He nods and wraps an arm around my shoulders.
“I think you’ll like this announcement.” I groan internally but nod. Dylan’s hand has found its way back into mine and he leads me over to where my uncles are now all sitting.
“Who’s the lady with Dad?” I ask as we sit down with the 3 of them.
“Kathy? You’ve met her, Ava. She works for the team as a physical therapist.” And as Kris answers, I start to realize he’s right.
“Oh yeah yeah I remember her. But that doesn’t explain why she’s here.” I say, looking between her and my 3 uncles sitting around me.
“She always travel with us.” Geno says, crossing his arms and leaning back in his chair.
“I’ve told her about 10 times that she shouldn’t be freaking out but she doesn’t listen to me.” Dylan injects, his arm resting around the back of my chair.
“Hey you’re the one who reminded me that the last family meeting we had was to tell everyone I was pregnant so now my mind is going all sorts of places.” Marc laughs and shakes his head.
“I don’t think it’s anything that big. Just calm down Ava.” I shrug and look around the room, watching Wes, who is still clinging to Dad, talk animatedly to his cousins gathered around them. Kathy is standing with Veronique, Marc’s wife, talking. I watch her glance at Dad whose eyes are already on her. There’s definitely something there but I can’t put my finger on what. Dad finally lets Wes down and he wanders his way over to Dylan, climbing up onto his lap.
“Daddy I’m hungry. Is it time to eat yet?” Wes asks, cuddling into Dylan’s chest.
“Almost. I think Grandpa has to tell us something and then we’re gonna eat dinner. Did you have fun with all your cousins?” Wes nods, playing with the hem of his jersey.
“Did you show Grandpa that you’re wearing his jersey?” I ask, smoothing Wes’ hair down. His hair is dark, just like Dylan’s and is in a constant state of bedhead.
“He liked it. He told me a story about when you were little and had one of his jerseys, Momma. Daddy, I’m wearing your jersey for the game tomorrow.” Dylan smiles as Wes slides off his lap. He runs over to Dad, who is now standing at the head of the table.
“Hey, if you wouldn’t mind, I think it’s time for my announcement.” He says he picks Wes up and everyone starts to sit down.
“It’s great getting to see everyone here, together. Especially with the news I’m about to share. Everyone, this is Kathy. Ava and the guys know her. But she’s one of the physical therapists that works for the team. Um, she and I have been dating for the past 3 years. I asked her to marry me a little over a month ago and she said yes. So...We’re getting married.” My mouth drops open and Dylan glances at me, trying to gauge how I’m handling this news. As I glance around the room, trying to figure out if I heard that right, everyone’s faces look the same as mine.
“You didn’t know about this?” I whisper, turning to look at Marc with wide eyes.
“We had no idea! He doesn’t tell us things!” Marc says, his eyes as wide as mine. It takes Dylan’s hand finding mine to keep me in my seat and somewhat grounded.
“I know this is a shock but we’re very happy. And we want you all to be a part of our wedding.” It’s like everyone gets snapped out of a trance. Everyone is up, congratulating Dad and Kathy and I’m still in my seat. I’m frozen, unable to move from the shock. I see Dylan glance back at me, before talking to Dad. Kris comes to check on me, kneeling down in front of me.
“You okay, Kid?” I shake my head and he stands, tugging me to my feet and into a hug. Wes runs up and hugs my legs.
“Momma! I’m gonna have a grandma! Does that mean she’s your momma now?” He asks, his eyes bigger than dinner plates. Somehow, that manages to snap me out of my trance and Kris lets me go. I bend down to Wes’ level and he puts his hands on my shoulders.
“Sorta. She’ll be my step mom, Baby. Have you told Grandpa congratulations?” He shakes his head and I gather him in my arms.
“No! I wanna tell them ‘gratitations!” He says, bouncing in my arms. I smile at his mispronunciation of the word and start to walk in the direction of Dylan and Marc.
“Let’s go find Daddy and then we’ll go tell Grandpa and Kathy congratulations.” Wes rests his head on my shoulder and wraps his arms around my neck. My family has always been a comfort to me, and it’s definitely one I need today. I’ve always wanted Dad to find someone and fall in love. But it’s just been him and I for so long, even with my uncles and aunts, cousins and now Dylan and Wes. My heart hurts a little, thinking about letting Dad go, but I see how happy Dad is and I can’t help but push those feelings aside for him to be happy. He’s put so much on hold for me, waiting until I was ready and on my own, I can’t help but do the same for him. But there’s still a part of me that’s not sure about all of it. A part of me that’s terrified about losing my dad. That fear keeps me from being able to be as happy as Dad deserves me being.
“Hey Baby.” Dylan says, his arm automatically going around my waist and pulling me close. Wes squirms out of my arms and runs to Dad who is now walking over to us, Kathy in tow. He presses a kiss to the top of my head and ruffles Wes’ hair.
“Congratulations Dad. Kathy, I can’t wait to get to know you better!” I say, trying to hide the other emotions threatening to break through.
“Thank you so much, Ava. I’ve heard so much about you and the last time I remember seeing you was probably when you were in middle school. You’ve grown up so much. And you must be Dylan.” Kathy says, reaching out to shake Dylan’s outstretched hand. He nods, the smile on his face genuine, unlike the fake one I’m trying to pass off as real. Dad keeps glancing at me, probably because he can see right through the fake smile.
“And you’re Wesley. But you like being called Wes, right?” Kathy asks, bending down to Wes’ level. He grins shyly and leans against my legs.
“I’m Wes. Momma, can I say ‘gratitations now?” He asks, looking up at me with big eyes. I nod and he grins.
“Gratitations! Are you gonna be my grandma now?” He asks, looking up at Kathy.
“I’d like to be your grandma. Is that okay with you?” He nods and launches himself at her, hugging her. She smiles, hugging him back and then returning him to my arms.
“I think we should definitely think about doing dinner or something soon. Maybe before you guys head back to Pittsburgh.” Dylan says, looking down at me. His hand slips into mine, stopping me from twisting my ring. It’s been a habit since he put it on my finger, usually one that’s a sign of how anxious I’m feeling.
“We definitely can do that. I’d love to see your house.” Kathy says. I’ve spent the last few minutes just watching Dad. He’s been focused on Kathy and the look in his eyes says everything. He loves her, which should make me happy, to see Dad this happy but it’s still tearing me up. This is so much harder than I ever imagined it would be.
“We have a puppy. His name is Milo! He likes to play hockey with me.” Wes says, obviously warming up to Kathy already. He’s not really shy, usually he talks strangers’ ears off, so it doesn’t surprise me that he’s comfortable with her already. Dylan and I have had to talk to him a couple times to get him to understand the whole stranger danger thing. It doesn’t make sense that both Dylan and I are pretty reserved, quiet people and somehow we end up with a kid who is the most outgoing child ever.
“Well I would love to come over and meet Milo.” Wes suddenly runs off, calling goodbye to Kathy,  going to play with his cousins.
“He’s a sweet boy. He looks just like you, Dylan.” Dylan smiles. Kathy and Dad share a sweet smile and I stay quiet.
Eventually, everyone sits back down and we have dinner. Everyone laughs and talks. Carter, Kirby, and Dylan won’t stop checking to make sure I’m okay, even though I’ve told them all a thousand times I’m fine. We make it through the evening and head back home. We’ll see everyone tomorrow at the game so it’s just a few quick goodbyes. Carter and Kirby come over to the house and Wes ropes them into watching Cars 2 with us. The day has taken a lot out of me and I fight sleep the whole movie.
I feel Dylan get up from beside me, taking Wes from where he was laying, cuddled between us. Carter and Kirby left a little while ago, whispering goodbyes since Wes fell asleep about halfway through the movie. The play menu for ‘Cars 2’ lights up the living room and I sit there, lost in thought. I need to call Dad, talk through today. But I can’t bring myself to grab my phone off of the table and press call on his contact. I’ve only ever wanted Dad to be happy, that’s what he’s always wanted for me. After spending most of the evening talking to Kathy, I know how in love she is with Dad and that she’s good for him, it’s just hard letting go of my dad.
As I’m sitting there, contemplating calling Dad, my phone starts to ring. It snaps me out of my thoughtful state and I rush to check to see who’s calling. Dad’s name stares back at me as I pick my phone up. I take a deep breath and press the answer button.
“Hey Baby.” Dad’s voice breaks through the noise in my head.
“Hi Daddy. It’s late, why are you still up?” I ask, tugging my knees into my chest and running my free hand through my hair.
“I’ve been thinking about you. You seemed off tonight. You okay?” I sigh and lean my head against the back of the couch.
“I’m-I’m okay. I was just a little surprised with your announcement, that’s all.” His voice sounds tired.
“I know Sweetheart. I wanted to tell you sooner. I wanted you to meet Kathy before I told anyone, before anything happened. Are you sure you’re okay with this?” Dylan suddenly appears in the doorway without Wes. He must’ve gotten Wes into bed pretty easily. He raises an eyebrow, making sure I’m okay and I nod. He comes over to me, dropping a kiss on my forehead and whispering he’s going to bed. I nod, squeezing his hand as he walks away.
“I just wasn’t expecting it. I’m really happy for you both, Dad. There’s plenty of time for me to get to know Kathy before you get married and even after you guys get married. You put so much on hold for me while I was growing up. But I’m all grown up, now it’s your turn. I’ll always be your little girl, no matter what, but I have Dylan to take care of me now. You need someone else to take care of now, and that person is Kathy now. So don’t worry about me, Daddy. I’ll be okay.” And as I say I’m okay, it's the first time in a few hours that I’ve actually felt okay and haven’t been lying. I hear Dad sniffle a little on the other end of the call, which of course makes me tear up.
“Baby, you’re absolutely amazing. You’re a wonderful mom to Wes, you love Dylan so much and I would never trade being your dad for anything in the entire world. You’ve been the highlight of my life. Not winning the Stanley Cup, not playing in the All-Star game. You are the reason for all of it. Getting to share you with our family and now with Kathy is beyond a dream come true. Thank you for being so supportive.” His voice breaks a little and I’m full on crying now.
“I love you Daddy. I’m happy for you. Dylan and I are happy for you. And I know Wes is so excited for Kathy to be his grandma.” Dad clears his throat and I try to control the tears running down my face.
“I love you too, Ava Grace. Now you probably need to head to bed so I’ll let you go. Good night.” He lets me say goodnight then ends the call. I lean my head against the back of the couch and take a deep breath. The tears slow and I regain my composure.
“Hey Avs, you okay?” Dylan asks, sitting down on the couch next to me and pulling me into his lap.
“I thought you went to bed? But I’m okay.” He kisses my forehead and relaxes into the couch.
“I could hear you on the phone. I wanted to make sure you were okay.” I snuggle into his chest and sigh.
“It’s been a long, surprising day but I think I’ll be okay.” I can feel him smile and he moves so we’re laying down on the couch, me resting on his chest.
“Your dad is happy. He’s going to have what all your uncles and we have. I think it’ll be fun to plan a wedding with your dad. Speaking of, we need to talk about us getting married.” Dylan says, looking down at me. I sit up a little, resting my chin on my hands and looking into his eyes.
“Oh I like when we do this. I want a big wedding.” I say, punctuating my sentence with a kiss on his lips.
“With all of our friends and family. And Wes as the ring bearer.” He says, twisting a few strands of hair between his fingers as I smile.
“Oh he’d be so cute in his little suit!” Dylan smiles and I settle back down on his chest again. We spend pretty much the rest of the night talking about our wedding and everything the future would bring, including siblings for Wes and in the morning, Wes finds us cuddled up on the couch and joins us, snuggling into Dylan’s side.
Dad calls a little after breakfast and asks to take Wes for the day, giving him some time to get to know Kathy. I agree and he picks him up, Kathy sitting in the passenger seat of his car. I wave from the doorway and she smiles, waving back. As I close the front door, Dylan scoops me into his arms and we head back to our room for his pregame nap, even though the game isn’t till later tonight. We end up sleeping until right before Wes gets home and Dylan needs to leave to be at the rink. Wes ends up laying down for a nap, which gives me some time to pick up the house a little and start getting ready for the game tonight. I love getting to spend games with my aunts and the rest of my family. It’s also nice to see all my uncles, Dad and Dylan all on the ice together.
Wes wears both of his jerseys, like he always does for Penguins-Sabres games, and is so excited to leave and head to the arena. Since I wear Dylan’s jersey for every other game, my tradition is to wear Dad’s jersey for games when he plays Dylan. All of the aunts, the kids, Wes and I hang out in a box, the kids running all over the box and back and forth with the other wives’ boxes for both the Sabres and the Penguins. It’s nice getting to sit and talk to my aunts. I don’t get to spend as much time with them as I do with my dad and uncles. We spend the whole game talking, making sure the kids don’t get too rambunctious while also watching the game at the same time. The game ends with the Penguins on top, 3-2 but Dylan scored and Dad did too with an assist from Geno. We all celebrate with dinner and drinks back at our house, giving me a chance to give my aunts an official tour, not over facetime. Wes shows off his playroom, bedroom and rink down in the basement that Dad and Dylan built him for his birthday. It’s the perfect ending to a family-filled day.
Thank God Dad waited till the off season to get married. I couldn’t imagine planning a wedding during the season. But if I see one more sports website or magazine with the title ‘Sidney Crosby to Marry Team Physical Therapist! Letang, Malkin, Fleury, and Cozens among those in attendance’ or something like that, I will scream. It seems like this is the event of the year and it’s all anyone can talk about. Kathy and I have spent months, along with my aunts to plan the perfect wedding for her and Dad. The boys had been no help at all, being typical boys. Kathy and I had tried to get Dad involved in the planning but he had just kissed Kathy’s forehead and told her to do whatever she wanted. That night, I had gotten off the phone with the caterer for the wedding and collapsed into bed beside Dylan.
“I swear, if you don’t help me plan our wedding, I might break up with you before the wedding even happens.” I groan, rolling over to face him. He smirks and rolls over, eyes locked on mine.
“How do you manage to still be absolutely adorable while threatening to break up with me?” He asks, gently kissing me.
“Because you love me.” I say, smiling and letting him pull me closer.
“You’re right. I love you very very much.” He says, his forehead pressed to mine and his eyes wide.
“You’re cute, Babe. Now go to sleep. I have to fight with the florist in the morning.” He laughs but doesn’t say anything else. I manage to fall asleep, a list of what we still need to do for the wedding playing over and over again in my head.
The time between that night and the wedding flies by and before we know it, it’s the rehearsal dinner and I’m having to make a speech. And as I stand in front of my family and a few other people, I realize just how lucky I am.
“Hi everyone. You all know who I am so we can skip the introductions. But anyways, Dad and Kathy, congratulations. I had been waiting for the day that Dad told me he was getting married. And honestly, I was a little worried it would never come. But then Kathy came into the picture. She turned Dad’s world upside down and with that, turned everyone else’s lives in our family upside down. And I will always thank her for that because of the light and love she has brought into our family. Our family is complete now with her in it. So Kathy, I just want to say thank you. I can’t wait for you to officially join our family tomorrow. So here’s to Dad and Kathy, enjoy your last night apart.” I say, raising the glass of wine I’ve been sipping on all night. Everyone filling the dining room does the same and we all drink. The rest of the evening is carefree, enjoyable and fun. We all leave the dinner exhausted but excited for tomorrow. I collapse into bed and manage to sleep without having to worry about wedding plans.
The next morning is complete chaos. Everything that could be going wrong, seems to be going wrong and everyone is panicking. And as I try to get everything figured out so Dad and Kathy don’t have to worry, Dylan pulls me aside and kisses me softly.
“You’re doing amazing, Baby. The wedding is going to be perfect, don’t worry.” He says, running his hands up and down my arms, eyes locked on mine. He automatically calms me down and I’m able to finish getting everything worked out.
Thank God the wedding went off flawlessly. Dad only cried a little, I cried a little; everybody cried a little. Wes made it all the way down the aisle, only getting distracted by his cousins sitting in the front row and he looked adorable in his little tux. Dylan and I walked down the aisle together, being the maid of honor and Dylan being a groomsman. The whole time we’re walking down the aisle, in front of everyone, Dylan is whispering goofy things in my ear and making me giggle. Wes keeps looking up at Dylan, making silly faces throughout the whole ceremony. And as soon as we walk back down the aisle, he’s off and running with his cousins. Everywhere I look during the reception, there’s a hockey player. Which is something I should be used to, after being the kid of a hockey player and now dating a hockey player but I’m not. The later it gets, the more everyone drinks and the louder the music gets. After Dylan and I have both had a few drinks, Dylan pulls me out onto the dance floor and we dance the night away.
A few weeks after Dad and Kathy’s wedding and honeymoon, he and Kathy drive up to Buffalo to spend a couple weeks with us. It’s wonderful having them at the house with us, giving Dylan and I a little break from Wes. One night, we’re all having dinner when Dylan turns to look at me.
“We’ve been together for how many years now? 7? And you know what? I still get butterflies every time you look at me.” Dylan says, looking deep into my eyes. I smile, watching him and trying to figure out what’s going on with the sudden outburst of mushiness.
“What I have with you? I don’t want it with anyone else. I choose you and I’ll choose you over and over again. You and Wes are the best things I could’ve never planned. I’m getting the future I’ve always wanted, with the girl I always wanted it with.” He says, taking my hands and pulling me to my feet. Dad sits behind us, Wes in his arms and Kathy holds close to his side, watching everything.
“I know I’ve done this before but we were young. So I’m doing it right this time. Ava Grace Crosby, will you marry me?” Dylan asks, slowly getting down on one knee and opening a ring box. My mouth drops open and I know I shouldn’t be surprised since we’ve already done this once but after what he said, I can’t help it.
“Are you kidding me? Yes!” I cry, pulling him to his feet and kissing him, my hands cupping his cheeks. I can hear Wes and Dad cheering, Kathy clapping. I pull away from Dylan, laughing and resting my cheek against his chest as his arms encircle me. Dad lets Wes down and he runs to us. Dylan scoops him up and he’s giggling, clapping his hands.
“Gratitaions Momma! Daddy!” He shouts. Dad and Kathy both join us and hug us. As I stand there, surrounded by my family, I think about how I’m getting the happy ending I’ve always wanted. I have the future with Dylan that I’ve thought about since we met, a son who I love more than anything in this world, the most amazing, supportive, and loving family. It’s everything I could’ve ever dreamed of and I’m completely in love with my life.

Taken from @batneko !
1) How many works do you have on AO3?
43
2) What’s your total AO3 word count?
445214
3) How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
One (1), One Punch-Man
4) What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Demon Cyborg’s livestream, Who Is She, Egg x Toaster oneshots, We’re Just Helping Them
5) Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
I tend to be good at it for new fics/chapters, then get really bad at doing so. I appreciate every single one.
6) What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
I don’t write super mega angst, but I’ve written one where Kuseno dies and Genos has to deal with having a new doctor.
7) What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
About all of them, lol.
8) Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you’ve written?
I haven’t to date.
9) Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Not that I can remember.
10) Do you write smut? If so what kind?
Sometimes, I’m not very experienced at it though.
11) Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I’m aware of.
12) Have you ever had a fic translated?
No.
13) Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, but sounds interesting….
14) What’s your all time favorite ship?
Saigenos
15) What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
No WIPs that have been posted, but one that I’ve started like 3 times and still haven’t found the right format for is a cat and mouse game with Genos finding and going after the Mad Cyborg. Though with the development of the webcomic at this point it’d probably have to be an AU/canon divergent!
Another one I started and liked is one where Saitama is a monk tasked with sealing Genos, a fire demon. I finished chapter 1 and like it a lot but have nowhere to go with it.
Not written down, but one day I want to write that fantasy AU too…
16) What are your writing strengths?
I don’t know… I guess I most often get complimented on my fluff lol
17) What are your writing weaknesses?
I get frustrated by feeling like I lack vocabulary (English isn’t my first language). And I struggle to write longer fics, oneshots are more my thing.
18) What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
Can be done well, can be done poorly. Haven’t done it myself.
19) What was the first fandom you wrote for?
One Punch-Man
20) What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
Maybe Like A Dream lol

SidGeno Parent Trap AU!
Will someone please write this i stayed up till 1 aimlessly typing this, ive already fleshed it out for you pleaseee
So Sid and Geno played together as Rookies for the Penguins in the 2005-2009 seasons, lighting up the NHL world as they had done always, slowly finding love and happiness together (after the Me 3 years Super league convo, you saw how blushy Sid was), quietly getting married in an discreet court house somewhere in Pittsburgh, having blissfully unprotected sex before and after the 2009 Stanley Cup win, just happy and in love and their life and success was just beginning to blossom.
But Sid finds out that he’s been pregnant with twins for some time now, having been nearly 12 weeks pregnant already by the time the final round was played. Geno finds out that there are some legal issues from escaping the KHL in order to play for the Penguins, and so to settle some ruffled governmental feathers, it would be best if Geno went back to Russia to fulfill those duties. Sid is extremely worried about the awful timing of the pregnancy and the sheer amount of alcohol consumed during the Cup celebrations, and Geno is worried about Russia ever letting him out of the country, or worse; finding about his relationship with Sid.
They hole up in a remote corner of Canada for the off season, just trying to soak in the time they have together before Geno goes back to Russia. Days are spent going to doctors visits, holding hands as they walk around the lake, cuddling on the couch at night, Geno’s big hands rubbing Sid’s belly, little feet kicking as hard as they can, while Sid giggles and twists round to kiss Geno.
Sid safely delivers the babies, two identical adorable boys, who have thankfully have not had birth defects as Sid was fearing, and so the rest of the off season is spent trying to decide what to do, how they could go back to their respective corners of the world and try to raise their kids. They agree to split the kids, and keep silent on where they came from.
Geno returns to Russia with a little baby boy, who will mostly be taken care of by his mother and father. Sid does the same, heading back to Cole Harbor more often than he would during the season, always glued to his phone and even taking phone calls from his mother on game days.
So then the actual story goes, 16 year old Daniel Patrick Crosby and Dimitri Evgenevich Malkin meet at Worlds to play for their respective countries, and like a random dinner clash between Russia and Canada find Daniel and Dimitri really confused because they look exactly the same; dark curly hair, strong solid bodies, angular doe eyes. Their teammates chirp them, saying they wouldn’t know who was who if they switched sweaters before the tournament.
They meet up again after Russia wins, meeting in Daniel’s hotel room while his roommate is away. They’re like
“oh when were you born? September 1st, 2009”.
 “Oh shit me too”.
“ oh who’s your parents?”
“Evgeni Malkin, big KHL superstar”
“Sidney Crosby” because duh who doesn’t know the greatest player ever.
Maybe they have a ripped picture like in the movie, like with Sid and Geno holding the Stanley Cup like they did in 2017. Daniel has Sid, and Dimitri has Geno, and they’re like “ yeah Dad never talked about who Papa was, but that he loved him, but they couldn’t be together”. So they whip out the picture halves, stashed in their wallets, and tada they fit. They’re twins!
Since the tournament for them is over, Russia with the gold and Canada with silver, they have a few days to themselves to watch the rest. On a midnight run to Tim Hortons, sharing a box of Timbits, they agree to swap places to meet each other’s dad, and then switch back during the Olympics, let say it’s somewhere in America, in a few months time. Daniel and Dimitri spend the next precious days coaching each other on how to be each other. Daniel is conveniently mostly conversational in Russian and can understand better than he speaks, but Dimitri is a quiet kid so it works out. Dimitri works hard to soften his Russian accent and worm eh into his normal syntax more. They get haircuts together, the barber laughing at these rambunctious twins and their beautiful curly hair, and they laugh at the ridiculous stripes they agree to shave onto the sides of their heads.
Before they separate at the airport, they exchange necklaces, a #45 from Daniel and a cross from Dimitri.
Dimitri flies back to Cole Harbor, and finds his dad waiting for him. He looks older than the picture he has, more lines on his face, Definetly shorter and grey-er hair, and sad eyes. If Sid notices his son hugging him tightly and for longer than he normally does, he doesn’t say anything. They chat through the drive home, to the lake house that Daniel told him about. Dimitri can only stare and try and absorb who this man was, the man who birthed him. Sid asks him if he’s ok as they eat dinner on the dock, bare feet dipping into the cold water. Dimitri can only mumble “you’re the best”, as he snuggles his head into his fathers chest. Sid can’t help but think that his son’s voice sounds different; the way he pronounced best sounded just like Geno.
Daniel manages to not say too much on the flight back to Russia, desperately trying to memorize more vocab and grammar before landing and being picked up by his grandparents. The cooing and lecturing is the same in either English or Russian, so he smiles and just lets it wash over him. He tentatively asks where his Papa is, and Grandmama Malkin says he’s probably wining and dining his latest girl. They go home and Daniel is stuffed full of food, everything Grandmama could have possibly made for his arrival. Geno comes home later that night, tired but eager to congratulate his son for winning Gold for Russia. He notices that his son perhaps looks a little different, ruffling the funny haircut that he had gotten, but more at the expression of awe on his face; a similar expression Sid had on his face when he told him he usually went out last before a game, many many years ago.
So yadada ya, they’re enjoying the time that they have with their respective dads, occasionally wringing out a small story or a sad look of their faces whenever they mention anything about each other. So the Olympics are rolling around, and they’re all going to be in one place (lets just say that Sid and Geno had never attempted to make contact whenever they played against each other, afraid that they might get caught) But Daniel has frantically been calling Dimitri over Geno’s new girl and how he might propose and would ruin their plan to get their parents back together.
Shenanigans during the Olympics, one groups disappearing before the other can see them, until Geno is in the elevator shmoozing his girl until he sees THE ASS tm across the room by the front desk. Sid turns around and just smiles sadly as the elevator door closes.
Then the scene where Sid is walking down the hall and Dimitri and Daniel open the doors at the same time and suddenly Sid is confronted with what he thinks is the son he hasn’t seen in 16 years. They pull him into a room, and explain the whole swicheroo, and Sid is mad because there’s nothing they can really do, he’s prepared to let Geno move on and do what’s he needs to, but resigns himself to being alone.
Then the pool scene, where Geno and his girl are lounging with his parents, and Sid walks his fine ass down the stairs and Geno falls in, scrapes up his nose a bit, Sid bandages him up a bit. Daniel and Dimitri reveal themselves to Geno.
Some time in between tournaments, with Russia and Canada on the rise to be competing for the Gold Final, Daniel and Dimitri bully their fathers into a family dinner at a nice restaurant. They cut a handsome swath at dinner, good looking men in good looking suits. Geno instinctually files in last, whether it being his remembered deal with Sid, or merely to ogle a bit as he pushes in Sid’s seat for dinner. For fun, after dinner, they find a nearly empty outdoor rink, equipped with rental skates. Daniel and Dimitri take off, chirping each other and racing and checking each other into the low boards enough for Dimitri to flip over and out of the rink, Daniel wheezing with laughter as Dimitri hefts himself back over. Sid and Geno skate around at a sedate pace, both having played a round that day and simply watching their sons fool around. They don’t say much. They can’t really. They can only quietly enjoy each others presence, wondering where had all the time gone, all the plans they had had.
The final round for Mens Ice Hockey has arrived, Russia vs Canada for Gold, and Daniel and Dimitri can only watch and wonder to see who will come out on top, and what will happen with their parents, watching as Geno checks Sid into the boards. Sid refuses to give up, and so Canada ends up winning the Gold. Like the 2014 picture where Geno and Sid hug after the game, what the camera doesn’t see but their sons see from behind the glass is the shaking hands of Geno and the single tear from Sid.
Like in the movie, before everyone hops onto their respective planes to their respective corners of the world, Sid and Geno make sure their sons aren’t faking this time, and that they go back to who they belong to. It’s how it has to be.
Cue the rain sequence, the sad music, the umbrellas.
Sid and Daniel return to Cole Harbor, still down pouring and quiet. They don’t say anything in the car ride back to the lake house. They finally arrive at home, and take some time to unpack and get comfortable. They silently look at each other, each longing for their other halves. Daniel had become so close to Dimitri, finding out who he was and planning the whole quest to meet their fathers. Sid just missed his husband, and playing against him after fighting so hard to play with him just made him wish for retirement sooner. They hug, and with Daniel under Sids arm, quietly wander down the bank of the hill towards the dock.
Although there seem to be two people already sitting there, with their feet in the water. Geno and Dimitri turn around, identical smug looks on their faces. Dimitri says, his accent hovering somewhere between the hard Russian accent and the rounded Canadian pronunciation, “hey Dad, did you know the Penguins still have those private jets?”
“Ye-yeah, they do bud”, Sid murmurs, still looking at the tall Russian slowly making his way towards him. Daniel duck out from under his arm to sit with his twin and watch the two goofballs that are their parents figure it out.
“I made mistake of not coming for you once, Sid. I’m not do that again, no matter how brave you are.” Geno says
“And I suppose you expect me to go weak at the knees and fall into your arms, and cry hysterically and say we’ll just figure this whole thing out, a bi-continental relationship with our sons being raised here and there, and you and I just picking up where we left off, and growing old together and… And, c’mon G, what do you expect? To live happily ever after?” Sid warbles, his tired eyes welling up with long withheld tears.
“Yes—to all, except you don’t have cry hysterically.” Geno murmurs, cupping Sid’s face and wiping a lone tear as it falls.
“Oh, yes I do—” Sid is cut off as he is kissed (AKA THE BEST KISS SCENE EVER, CUE THE MUSIC)
Daniel and Dimitri can only grin and fist bump as their parents finally kiss after 16 years apart. They put and end to it when Geno starts to dip Sid into a deeper, more lurid kiss and some major groping, and they push both of them into the water.
During the epilogue with This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) by Natalie Cole, scenes flash by of Geno and Sid holding hands in front of a press conference, their sons standing by their sides, as they announce their retirements from both the NHL and KHL after 20 years, and their relationship and their sons to the hockey community.
Another scene where Daniel and Dimitri attention Shattuck St. Mary’s to finish up high school before inevitable being drafted when they turn 18. It would be the first and only time they play together on the same team, Crosby-Malkin proudly spelled onto the back of their sweaters.
Another scene where they’re all playing shinny on a frozen pond somewhere, Geno getting distracted and just sweeping Sid into his arms after he scores a goal, kissing and swinging around until they both fall into a snowbank, their sons launching themselves at them at top speed.
Another scene where Daniel Crosby-Malkin from the Chicago Blackhawks and Dimitri Crosby-Malkin from the Dallas Stars face off for a Stanley Cup final
And finally, a small wedding held in Sid’s backyard in Nova Scotia, where Daniel and Dimitri stand with Flower and Tanger and Kuni and Duper and Talbo and most of Geno’s Russian buddies as their parents finally get married again, kissing happily under the sunset and the lake shining behind them.
Bonus scene: A few months after the wedding and a few days before the season starts up again, with everyone home, Sid comes down the stairs for breakfast with a strange look on his face and something in his hands. He’s a graceful 43 now, grey hairs really pushing now, so when he says “you boys up to being big brothers?” Geno spits out the tea he had been drinking and jumps up and envelops his husband.
