Day 4: Tooka

Everyone say hello to the newest Tooka OC, Stowaway! Scorch found her hiding in a LAAT and decided to keep her. She’s got a nasty attitude and only likes Fixer - who is the only Delta that doesn’t like her (he’s allergic and she knows it. She wants him to suffer).

If you've read the Republic Comando books and watched The Bad Batch series, you might have noticed close resemblances between Clone Force 99 and the commando squads from the books.

The parallels are definitely intentional, even if Filoni didn’t go out of his way to say “they’re commandos”—at least until the second season, I guess. So let’s unpack the connections:

Delta Squad: Each member of Clone Force 99 mirrors Delta’s role structure — a team leader, a sniper, a technician, and an explosives expert.

Omega Squad: The Bad Batch wears black armor reminiscent of Omega Squad’s Katarn-class commando armor.

Null-class ARCs: Their enhanced abilities and rebellious nature strongly resemble the genetically altered, unstable Nulls.

It’s hard to believe these parallels are coincidental. Filoni and his team may not have explicitly canonized the Nulls in The Bad Batch, but the spirit of them is alive and well in Clone Force 99.

I’ve always personally headcanoned that if Mandalorians DID have certain stereotypical family/relationship roles it wouldn’t be anywhere close to gendered, like one person is the man and one person is the woman. It would be like, one person is the shield and one person is the sword. One is the guard and one is the hunter. The bigger and stronger of the two — traditionally, though obviously every marriage would be different and most wouldn’t conform exactly, especially with polyamory — might be the one to stay home and guard the kids and the clan. While the faster, more maneuverable and perhaps deadlier of the two went out and hunted, provided, initiated raids. A Mandalorian couple fighting together would be so dangerous for so many reasons but principally because if they’re both there it probably means you’re on their territory and both the guard and the hunter are after you, and now you’re seriously fucked.

Etain is around her late teens or early 20s in Hard Contact (she does not have a canon age and it's all up to speculation). Using the term Padawan is for shock value because most people know Padawans are around 14-16 during the Clone Wars era (but Padawans were usually in their 20s Pre-Clone Wars. Example: Obi-Wan) Etain could very easily be one of the last generations of Jedi that were Padawans in their 20s before being knighted because of the Clone Wars

Etain was knighted by the time they officially got into a relationship, so the whole Padawan thing doesn't even make sense.

The title also insinuates that Darman could have taken advantage of Etain (when it's kinda the opposite).

Talking about how the Clone's sex drive scared the Kaminoan's has the implications that the Clones sexually assault people. The implication being their sex drive is too high and can't be controlled.

The title is totally leaning on the interpretation "Clone who knocked up some naive teenage girl" This whole video title is written in bad faith. It also doesn't help that he's making a video title and thumbnail that implies that a POC took advantage of "innocent white teenage girl". This is just horrible. There's too much to unpack.

I made a clone wars timeline to combine all of canon and legends into one cohesive and somewhat manageable timeline, mainly for fanfic and ttrpg purposes but I thought people might like it, it has a full workout of the galactic standard calendar and has precise(ish) dates for events (mainly republic commando) but I want as many people as possible to be able to see it and hopefully enjoy it
