— love version of, Richard Scott, from 'after Verlaine'
[text ID below cut]
[text ID: tonight I watched you sleep / naked on the futon / face down sweaty like a small child / and knew that everything else was bullshit
it's so hard to stay alive these days / or sane / so keep on snoring danny / while I guard you like a rottweiler
being in love with you is fucking awful / cause one day you'll stop breathing / in this grey light you look already dead
but then you smile thank fuck / what are you dreaming about baby wake up / tell me if the word soul still means anything]

"I am always looking for a new frequency—hoping to recover some peridot shard of myself in this lapidary of broken things—but I can only translate what is already here and not transform. Hats off to the crystallographer who is watching chartreuse ions precipitate into livid rocks, I am toxic—petrified ectoplasm—luminously bonded to my past."

Protective stone, keeper-away of evil spirits, where were you when I needed you? His touch was mantle-hot and ruinous; intrusive, extrusive.

are you looking for me in these lines
like a urologist examines piss for blood
come sit with me
and I will tell you all the truth I have left
how touch is everything and
underneath sex is your beginning

Peridot
Richard Scott
after Arthur Rimbaud and Wyatt Mason
O for a few more of those pre-trauma days, when life was as dazzling as a piece of raw peridot and all my hours were grass stains and beach glass and sycamore leaves glinting and shifting and iris spears shooting up, up, up! And lime cordial, molten peridot, thick and gloopy as time in the bottom of a glass—sliding, coating. And a fresh bruise when a bruise was just a bruise and could fade. And the gloaming when even the gloaming was green—pear-green and freckled sky, mustachioed wisps. But he is here too—fission-green flaw deep within the facet—giving off his own glow, blinding, disorientating. A crystal kind of man, polymorph, because he still has something to teach me and I don’t know if I will ever truly learn it. Protective stone, keeper-away of evil spirits, where were you when I needed you? His touch was mantle-hot and ruinous; intrusive, extrusive. I am always looking for a new frequency—hoping to recover some peridot shard of myself in this lapidary of broken things—but I can only translate what is already here and not transform. Hats off to the crystallographer who is watching chartreuse ions precipitate into livid rocks, I am toxic—petrified ectoplasm—luminously bonded to my past.

I think the ending of Baby Reindeer went over a lot of people’s head to be honest. The ending isn’t supposed to be a ‘full circle moment’ where Donny ‘becomes’ Martha. It’s supposed to be Donny realising it was never his fault that Martha started stalking him, that his kindness wasn’t at fault. He offered an upset woman a cup of tea for free, that’s something most people would do in that situation. When the bartender gives Donny a drink on the house when he forgot his wallet, it’s Donny realising that kindness should not result in being stalked and harassed. It’s him realising that Martha is very mentally unwell and that the situation wasn’t his fault. Also, stop trying to find the real people the story is based on, Richard Gadd said that it’s not the point of the story and it’s putting real people in danger. Like how are people watching a story of a man being stalked and then going and doing the same thing to real people? It’s gross. Richard Gadd doesn’t owe the public that information, nor do the public need to know the real abusers in the story to understand the point of it.
