This ✨simple plain pajama✨ LMAO what other old hollywood scenes get to live in your mind?🥰
♡ the last scene in the shop around the corner “my dearest, sweetheart klara, i can't stand it any longer. take your key and open post office box 237 and take me out of my envelope and kiss me” SWOOOON
♡ “you stepped out of a dream” from ziegfeld girl. oh how i wish adrian could design my wedding dress
♡ the opening scene at sidney’s from the women. when i watch this movie by myself i try to do all of the voices at the same time and it’s utter chaos
♡ the champagne picnic on schatze’s terrace in how to marry a millionaire “you know who i’d like to marry? / who? / rockerfeller! / which one? / i don’t care”
♡ elsie’s wildly drunk scene in the prince and the showgirl. when i watch this movie i literally rewind and watch it two or three times, marilyn is just so amazing in this movie
♡ “amado mio” from gilda. it just makes me so happy to watch rita and also this is such a favorite outfit, i really do just sit and think about it sometimes
♡ the scenes of nicole and simon hiding in the museum closet in how to steal a million. emphasis on when simon gets the key and when he kisses nicole 🥵🥵🥵
♡ gigi’s training at aunt alicia’s in gigi. truly my dream apartment
♡ the christmas party in meet me in st. louis. the dresses, the trees, the grandpa, the snow... i can just feel everything about it and it makes my heart feel so warm
♡ the entirety of two weeks with love. i really tried hard to pick a single scene, but this movie is what my mind looks like
lots more probably! old hollywood takes up a lot of real estate in my head

"Gustaf Olof (Olle) Hjortzberg (14 November 1872 – 8 March 1959) was a Swedish painter and illustrator. He is remembered above all for contributing to the revival of wall paintings in Swedish churches.
Born in Stockholm, Hjortzberg was brought up in Linköping where his father taught him to paint watercolours. In 1886, he moved to Stockholm where he became acquainted with the architect and illustrator Agi Lindegren who introduced him to ornamental work. From 1892, he studied at the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts. After marrying in 1898, he travelled with his wife to Paris and, in 1899, to Italy where he visited Florence and Perugia. He then went to Syria and Palestine where the oriental environment influenced his art. In 1902, he visited London before returning to Italy where he stayed for a time in Rome studying the old masters before travelling to Ravenna to see the Byzantine art.
In 1905, he returned to Sweden where he devoted himself to Christian art, first designing stained glass windows for Stockholm's Katarina Church and then decorating the ceiling of Klara Church with scenes from the life of Christ. In 1913, he decorated Uppenbarelsekyrkan in Saltsjöbaden with strongly coloured Christian figures in a style inspired by Byzantine and Assyrian art. He painted other murals in Swedish churches and decorated several altarpieces.
Hjortzberg was also active as an illustrator, contributing to the Gustav V Bible (published 1925), creating a poster for the Stockholm Olympic Games (1912) and designing commemorative stamps. He taught at the Academy from 1911 to 1937 and was director until 1941".

As ever, I didn’t read as much as I wanted to in 2021 and, of course, I still haven’t finished Finnegans Wake. Here are a few more books I finished this year and the complete list is below.
A Lonely Man by Chris Power is a brilliant and ingeniously layered literary thriller. Like a postmodern Le Carre with much to say about what stories are ours to tell.
The Eighth Girl by Maxine Mei-Fung Chung has an interesting premise (a multiple-personality psychological thriller) but I found the writing clunky and cliched at times (the phrase ‘murder of crows’ appears twice). Great story though and I’ll be interested to see the TV adaptation if it comes to light.
I read Satan is Real in preparation for my interview with Wendy Erskine for Your Own Personal Beatles. Two brilliantly written and very disturbing short stories. I can’t wait to read Wendy’s new collection Dance Move which is published next year. When I spoke to Wendy she had just interviewed Paul Muldoon so I also read his latest collection of poems Howdie-Skelp, which is playful, inscrutable and surprisingly filthy. Muldoon of course edited the collection of Paul McCartney’s Lyrics this year so it was nice to see a mention of ‘Lovely Rita’ in the poem ‘An Item’.
Shappi Khorsandi also appeared on Your Own Personal Beatles this year and I absolutely loved her book A Beginner’s Guide to Acting English. Shappi writes so well from the point of view of a child and this memoir is a really extraordinary account of her family’s arrival in the UK following the Iranian Revolution in the late 70s.
Happy new year to you all – my resolution for next year is to only read one book at a time!
Here are all the other books I read in 2021:
Close to the Bone – Stuart MacBride The Death of Francis Bacon – Max Porter Asylum Road – Olivia Sudjic Girl A – Abigail Dean Klara and the Sun – Kazuo Ishiguro The Dark is Rising – Susan Cooper Boy Parts – Eliza Clark My Phantoms – Gwendoline Riley (my book of the year) Delicacy: A Memoir about Cake and Death – Katy Wix What Belongs to You – Garth Greenwell No One is Talking about This – Patricia Lockwood Sweet Home – Wendy Erskine A Song for the Dark Times – Ian Rankin How to Write One Song – Jeff Tweedy The Last Landlady – Laura Thompson Acts of Desperation – Megan Nolan Good Morning, Midnight – Jean Rhys A Pale View of Hills – Kazuo Ishiguro Beautiful World, Where Are You? – Sally Rooney Far From the Madding Crowd – Thomas Hardy Beatles ’66: The Revolutionary Year – Steve Turner The Beatles: The Authorised Biography – Hunter Davies

"if the shoe fits”
Tumblr media
...men apropå kommunikation...

Me emocionei aqui, Jojo.
