Roaring Twenties Magic #2

Another wonderful historical romance that drew me in, made me smile, and made me care.

What I liked:

* Sebastian: paranormal, magic user, in a relationship with Wesley-Lord Fine, talkative, kind, takes in and feeds stray cats in more than one country, medic in WWI, calmer with Wesley than alone, from a loving family, Puerto Rican, good friend, like him with and for Wesley

* Wesley: has no magic, strong, intelligent, was a Captain in the British Army during WWI, a bit gruff and grumpy, doesn’t see the good in him but it is seen by Sebastian, claims not to have emotions but definitely has the feels for Sebastian

* The close relationship that is developing between Sebastian and Wesley – can see them together for the long haul

* The plot, pacing, setting, and character development

* The mystery of where Jade, Zhang, Arthure, and Rory are and the way the main characters sleuth to find them

* The mystery of who the bad guys are and what they are up to

* That friendship developing between Arthur & Roray and Wesley & Sebastian

* The conclusion and wondering what will come next

What I didn’t like:

* Who and what I was meant not to like

* Thinking about how twisted some people can become…and boy was Langford easy to hate!

Did I like this book? Yes

Would I read more in this series? Definitely

Pordenone, Sangiovanni in concerto e altri eventi. Numerosi appuntamenti per "Estate a Pordenone 2022" dal 5 al 7 luglio. Una tre giorni ricca di musica, teatro, letteratura e sport. Partiamo dagli eventi del 5 luglio. Leggere ai bambini e con i bambini fa bene: è un modo semplice e molto efficace per accompagnarli nella crescita e favorire il loro sviluppo psicomotorio, linguistico, cognitivo e affettivo-relazionale. È questa una delle finalità della rassegna “ meloLEGGI in biblioteca”, la lettura ad alta voce per bambini da 0 a 3 anni e per i loro genitori a cura delle volontarie del progetto Nati Per Leggere, in programma alle 17.00. Continua l’appuntamento con lo yoga solidale in mezzo al verde per aiutare i profughi ucraini dalle 19.00 alle 20.00 al Parco San Valentino. In piazzetta della Pescheria dalle 21.00 alle 22.30 il concerto in programma celebra i vent’anni della fondazione dello storico ensemble multietnico Dancefloor, che racchiude le varie energie animate in questi anni dall’Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio. Un’Orchestra dall’anima poliedrica che trascina il pubblico con scanzonata allegria e energia travolgente, proponendo musica tradizionale mescolata con rock, pop, reggae e classica.  Si potrà assistere ad un altro genere di proposta musicale seguendo il concerto del gruppo “D’altro canto” dalle 21.00 nel Parco di Torre a cura dell'Associazione Il Castello - Torre APS. Nel quartiere di San Gregorio invece alle 21.00 al Polisportivo di via Gemelli, sarà di scena lo spettacolo teatrale “ Il Volpone” di Ben Jonson. Volpone e il fido Mosca sono geni del male, talmente raffinati che nemmeno sfuggono ai loro stessi raggiri, portando alla luce le meschinità umane più abbiette e mostrando come l’illusione della ricchezza riesca a proporre una finta morale fatta di inganni e di truffe che tre “avvoltoi” incarnano ponendosi in contrasto con due giovani ancora sani nella loro dignità. Proseguiamo con il programma del 6 luglio. La Biblioteca civica di Pordenone, in collaborazione con Eupolis, propone una serie di laboratori ludico-creativi che parleranno di arte e di sostenibilità. Anche questo incontro come gli altri, la lettura di un libro d'artista o che parla di arte e di bellezza offrono lo spunto per proseguire con un'attività laboratoriale durante la quale i bambini vengono invitati a riflettere su una delle tematiche presenti negli obiettivi dell'Agenda 2030.  La rassegna "Di mercoledì alle 19" invece alle 19.00 in via Selvatico sede della Scuola sperimentale dell’Attore si propone un lavoro della Compagnia Laskaskas. Due acrobate circensi presentano le canzoni che hanno riportato come souvenir da alcuni viaggi importanti, dalla Mongolia alla Corsica. La voce misteriosamente guadagna risonanze, nel corpo e nello spazio, grazie alla cultura acrobatica. La passione per il teatro, potrà essere soddisfatta assistendo alla commedia dialettale “Bastava ‘na botta” a cura della Compagnia il Teatrozzo, promossa da Gruppo Teatro Pordenone Luciano Rocco, in calendario alle 20.45 Largo Cervignano nell’area verde del Centro Associativo. Soulemayn Diabaté, detto “Petit Solo” è un talento purissimo e uno dei giovani percussionisti di spicco del Burkina Faso. Lo si potrà ascoltare alle 21.30 nel concerto nel chiostro dell'ex Convento di San Francesco. Tra i principali virtuosi del Balafon e del Kora, è alla continua ricerca di integrazioni tra suoni tradizionali e afro-pop contemporaneo con il suo gruppo Sabwana Orchestra. Ha rappresentato la cultura del Burkina Faso in diversi festival ed eventi internazionali. In Largo San Giorgio alle 21.30 torna l’appuntamento con il Cinema sotto le stelle di Cinemazero. Le giornate del cinema muto e il Teatro Verdi consentono agli studenti degli istituti del territorio (e oltre) di confrontarsi con la rimusicazione di cortometraggi dell'epoca del muto. I ragazzi degli Istituti comprensivi di Pordenone Centro e Rorai Cappuccini, guidati dalle professoresse Sogaro, Avon e Martin, si esibiranno su Kri Kri Detective (1912) e Kri Kri ha perduto il cappello (1912), mentre il Liceo "G. Marconi" di Conegliano, condotto dal professor Vitale, si dedicherà a Polidor tra i due litiganti (1917). A seguire, per concludere la serata all’insegna del sorriso, Annuncio matrimoniale (1934), uno dei capolavori di Stanlio e Ollio. Infine, gli eventi del 7 luglio. Fra le proposte di Estate a Pordenone 2022 c’è anche lo sport. All’Interporto Centro Ingrosso di Pordenone, quartier generale della 29° edizione di Italian Baja 2022, è in programma la fase preparatoria della gara di “auto-fuoristrada” proiettata sui greti di Meduna, Cosa e Tagliamento. In piazza Risorgimento dalle 17.00 alle 19.00 Pilar Luisa Perazzo coinvolgerà i bambini in laboratori manuali creativi utilizzando carta e cartoncini, per realizzare bellissime girandole colorate e personalizzate. “Paturnie" spettacolo teatrale della rassegna "I Teatri dell'Anima" di e con Fabio Comana con alle chitarre Thomas Pagani, chiuderà la giornata di svago al Seminario diocesano in via Seminario con inizio alle 19.00. Lo spettacolo è ambientato in una stazione radio con pubblico dal vivo, in un sottile gioco di metateatro dove gli spettatori sono anche il pubblico che assiste alla diretta radiofonica.  Con l’inizio dei saldi, alle tre local influencer si aggiunge anche la blogger MissClaire e il fotografo Michele Grimaz alias Mighele, con i quali si andrà alla scoperta della città promuovendo il tradizionale “shopping sotto le stelle” del giovedì promosso da Sviluppo e Territorio, con i negozi aperti fino alle 23.00. Dalle 19.00 ad animare i corsi cittadini sarà la Funkasin Street Band. La web radio cittadina Wideline proporrà musiche ed interviste per coinvolgere i passanti di corso Garibaldi, in fondo al quale si troverà un set fotografico allestito da Profili Studio e per i più piccoli sono in programma animazioni e attività promosse dell’Associazione Panorama.  Inoltre in piazza XX Settembre nell’Arena Cimolai si esibirà in concerto la Filarmonica di Pordenone e al parco San Valentino per la seconda data del Pordenone Live, si terrà il concerto di Sangiovanni. Alle 21.30 infatti al parco San Valentino salirà sul palco il rapper che si è imposto alla scuola di Amici ed è diventato vero e proprio idolo pop della musica italiana. When Rogue closes the door behind him, the first thing he notices is Gray’s black coat shuffled miserably on the floor, which is kind of surprising since his husband is always behind him for leaving his things everywhere, and also because he’s not supposed to be home yet. Actually, he isn’t supposed to be home for at least two more days.

Frowning a little, Rogue decides to take Gray’s coat off the floor and hangs it before he does the same with his while getting rid of his shoes. It has been a long day and having this semblance of comfort feels like heaven to him.

He walks through the corridor and when he arrives in the living room; he stops himself from going further, deciding to take a look at the scene before him.

Gray is sitting on the floor, his back to him, only in his boxers. Rogue vaguely registers that his clothes are on the dining table along with his bag.

There are a ton of papers around him, some of them showing some drawing of a building or maps of places Rogue can’t quite identify from where he is. The living room is a disaster and Rogue is about to ask what the matter is when a frustrated groan escapes Gray lips and hands come to mess with his black hair.

“Where the fuck did I put this shitty paper...” He mumbles.

Rogue has to bring a hand to his mouth to hold his laughter.

It’s quite endearing to watch him go through all the papers around him with speed, when Rogue knows that he usually is a really neat and an organised person when it comes to his work.

“I can feel your eyes on my back. Can you stop looking at me like this? I can’t concentrate,” comes Gray’s voice again.

It takes Rogue a moment to understand that he is being talked to, but when he does, he makes his way towards Gray and sits next to him.

“I have a feeling that your lack of concentration isn’t because of me, darling,” Rogue answers sweetly.

At this, Gray turns his head to face Rogue, a pout clearly on his lips and this time Rogue doesn’t bother holding his laughter.

“Now, what’s going on? I thought you’ll be in Toronto for two more days. And not that I’m complaining but what are you doing here?” he asks, voice soft.

It doesn’t take long until his arms are filled with his practically naked husband. Gray has his head on his shoulder, but Rogue doesn’t have to see his face to know that his lover is probably frowning.

“They liked my project,” Gray says.

Rogue waits for him to continue but when nothing comes, he tightens his arms around his body and leaves a kiss on top of his head.

“That sounds like good news to me,” Rogue tries.

“It is.”

“Then why are you sulking and sitting in this paper mess like a fool?”

Gray sighs and buries his face in Rogue’s neck.

“Because now they want to see more of my works,” he mumbles against Rogue’s skin.

“What a disaster really,” Rogue replies, mocking him a little.

“They sent me home earlier as a reward,” Gray continues, ignoring him. “But they expect more plans and drawing for next week. And I can’t seem to find anything I have worked on until now. I have so many things to show them and I know they will love it, but everything is gone. And I tried to call Freed at work, but he said I didn’t leave any file. I looked everywhere, and it’s gone. I would never have enough time to do it all again and...”

“Babe.”

Rogue detaches himself from Gray and cups his face between his fingers. Gray is looking at him almost desperately, lost in whatever thoughts are crossing his mind. And Rogue can’t help but press a gentle kiss on his nose before smiling tenderly at him.

“You left your files with me, baby. It’s in my part of the wardrobe. You gave it to me because you were afraid to lose it remember?”

Gray blinks at him a few times, taking his time to assimilate everything that Rogue just said.

“I... I’m so stupid,” Gray finally says.

“Yes, you are,” Rogue answers, an amused smile on his lips. “Why didn’t you call me, silly?”

“It… it actually didn’t cross my mind? I was so sure that I was the one who had it.”

Rogue rolls his eyes fondly at him.

“Well, problem solved now.”

Gray has a sheepish smile on his lips now as he leans a little for his forehead to meet with Rogue’s chest. His body looks more relaxed now that everything is clear and settled for him.

“I mean one of your problems is solved yes,” Rogue rectifies.

“What?”

“Your clothes are on the dining table and the floor is now made of paper. Better fix that, while I’m making dinner, idiot,” Rogue clarifies.

He moves his body away from Gray before standing up without another word, making his way towards the kitchen.

He can hear his husband grumbling at how unfair he is from where he is in the kitchen and that he could at least help him but Rogue only smiles as he opens the fridge.

My idiot, he thinks.

Gray/Rogue - watching Frosch

AN: Ooh, fluff! It’s been awhile since I’ve written. This might be my first Gray/Rogue fic, so please go easy on me.

Gray watched curiously as the small pet galloped around, it’s pink clothed tail swinging carelessing in the wind. Much like the frog outfit it wore, Frosch would bounce off their paws in chase of the butterfly which glided around. Almost like a game of cat and mouse, the exceed would follow the insect with glee.

In watching Frosches activity, Gray found himself entranced. It was difficult to connect such a childish animal to a shadowed man like Rogue. The two were polar opposites, Frosch being a being that at furst glance of the dragon slayer should quiver in fear. No such thing has ever happened though.

The moment Rogue stepped into view, Frosch would clibg to him with a wide smile. Rogue was Frosch protector. He was not someone the exceed would run from because Frosch could never trust anyone more than Rogue.

That was a trust Gray believed fully in. Not for the bond a dragon slayer and exceed shared alone but because of the trust Rogue put in Gray himself. Under the care of Gray, Frosch was in care.

And maybe, just maybe, Gray cared for the exceeds partner more than he was willing to accept. Yet, as Gray notice Frosches eyes trail away from the butterfly and watch as another figure cane into view, Grays heart stuttered. He knew if he looked up he would see the tender eyes of night, eyes that would loosen the tightness in his chest.
