2nd Life is Battery Operated

According to his concept art, DonBot is powered by "Kraang Krystal Remnant". I'm choosing to interpret that as mean that Donnie's running on the (or at least one of) Kraang powercell that Leatherhead was guarding, with his "sleep mode" serving less as a "charging station" and functioning more to how real sleep works and allows his body a change to "rest" and stabilize the powercell.

I WILL figure out how to draw this old man consistently dammit

He gets a grey scale paint job post time-jump so people don't clock him as "Donnie" to varying levels of excess.

currently brainrotting that tmnt-portal-halflife forced fusion au idea rattling around my brain maybe a bit too hard lmao. i seem to be vibing with rise teetles and company most at the moment but i might still toss around other iterations at some point.

rn im figuring out how in the HECK im gonna manage "teetles who got yeetled into cores" and for the most part the idea i've got of having them use their ninpo to varying degrees to interface with the aperture tech they're stuck in seems to be working. raph and donnie can straight-up make bodies for themselves, leo can probably interface his portal powers with aperture's portal tech if he gets limbs.

but i was kinda stuck on what i wanted to do with mikey. on the one hand, it'd be a nice balance if i had two teetles with primarily-ninpo bodies and two with primarily-physical bodies. borrow spare parts from p-body and atlas for our other blue-orange sillyguy duo maybe.

on the other hand, raph's ninpo would look most like him, then donnie's would probably look like a robotello, then leo's would look the least like himself of these three so far (though he'd probably figure out a way to copy his markings down onto the robot limbs somehow)…so how would i make a mikey who barely looks like mikey but is still very obviously mikey?

and then it hit me

and i needed to scramble to doodle ezekielan mikey core as fast as humanly possible xD

i forgot to post these so here, have them all at once!

i finally finished my ref for robotello, who's one of my risesonas. The other two are plasma and ripper, my friend isaac's sonas! (plasma is the donnie based one, ripper is raph :D)

there will probably be more plasma and robotello content soon XD i'm in love with them. they're best friends trying to power through together (and plasma is an honourary robot.)

refs are so hard to make, too... i want to add more to robotello's descriptions and stuff, but simultaneously i have too much space. how does that work!?

Yay another commission done!!! Holy nuggets I enjoyed this one. Well, most of the time XD Mechanical bits are always a nightmare to draw right, there was a ton of refs to collect, and on top of that I wanted to try out a different coloring method from my usual dark-to-light--which is amazing and super relaxing, but a tad limited. So I got my fair share of frustration headaches. Basically I'm up here trying to become better at arting. And this was perfect practice. Don-Bot freakin' RULES THE WASTELANDS and singlehandedly saved the entire arc for me. April's Kraang Queen design here is by @hamsterandturtlesoup herself and I LOVE it. Here's a link to her fic. Lemme tell ya, if this April had been a thing in that arc, I would've enjoyed it a LOT more.

Actually, I am hoping for that. I honestly do. 

Not that im not hyped about this, trust me, Id love to see me some ROBOTELLO but just thinking that with all the shit these boys been through. April and Casey, even Karai. It just kinda is like “Well thanks for making us only to destroy us.”

I dunno, just I can see that. All this is a bad dream Raph has mainly since he is the one to be the main character. We shall see on Friday Anon.

I really do hope it ends well. This show honestly deserves a better ending then just a mad max rip off.

I'm gonna say it- I liked 2012's Future!Raph design, with and without his beard.

While there’s a lot of missed potential (side eyes Future Mikey and Leo’s designs and the DISTINCT lack of mutant!Casey Jones) in the 2012 Apocalypse arc I still loved it.

RoboTello and Amnesiac Raph adopting a teeny-tiny, spunky meerkat-mutant car thief was of course the best part.

While DonBot is trying to save the world, Renet sent them far back enough so that he actually had time to prepare and more importantly rest.

And dammit if he's not gonna have a little fun with Mira in the meanwhile.

I headcannon that Robotello/DonBot can play any songs from his memory
