seen a few plp on my timeline sharing their language's dub stobotnik moments

so! because i recently did watch all 3 movies in the czech dub while making extensive notes, here are a few stand outs :D!:

starting off strong with the mouthgrab scene. first of all i would like to establish that agent stone generally uses very formal and grammatically correct language.

however! while saying "everyone else is stupid" he uses very informal versions of the words, which are employed by robotnik constantly throughout the movie. it makes it crystal fucking clear that they have, in-fact, had this conversation before and he is just quoting him verbatim.

also everyone else is stupid is replaced with "snýst že ostatní sou blbý"(endure that everyone else is stupid) which idk why but it sounds more fruitier to me.

moving on, instead of “i love the way you make them!” he yells “i [adore/love] your lattes” (zbožňuju tvý latté!)

"do some rock-onnaissance" - "vyšutři to"(šutr - word for stone, vyšetřit - investigate) whoever came up with that is a legend and i love them.

guy that calls stone a freak, calls him "vole" which is a swear. straight up. pg movie btw. (there are worse swears out there but it still took me off guard)

while playing makeover, stone says "dokonalá nová imidž, sekáč." meaning "perfect new look, [slang for someone being particularly handsome]" which is INSANE.

while citing the manual, he cites the exact page number ("návod strana 50"), bro really memorised everything in that thang including the page numbers

instead of an HR complaint robotnik basically says they(TM) will send OSHA after him 💀("no skvěle, ještě na mě kvůli vám přijde inspekce bezpečnosti práce") weirdly enough it seems hes addressing team sonic, not stone. because if it was stone he was talking to, he would be using the formal you for him, which he never does throughout this entire movie series.

that leads me to the conclusion he’s using "vám" as a plural you instead of a formal you and is blaming team sonic for making the robot shake in a way that hurt stone. do with this information what you will.

moving onto movie 3, instead of "egg-sact my revenge" he says "snesu na něj pomstu jak slepice vejce"(i’ll lay revenge on him like a hen lays an egg) and then stone smiles :) he doesn’t have to go "see what I did there.", he just laughs at his jokes unprompted, hes so in love :)

“tady je”(here it is) instead of “found some” followed by “je mazaný”(“he’s sly” HELLO?????? WDYM BY THAT?????) as “resourceful” is doing things to me and i hope it does things to you too.

BRO SAYS “to je přesně náš vztah”(that’s exactly our relationship) INSTEAD OF “THAT���S EXACTLY WHAT WE ARE” VZTAH, while yes meaning any kind of relationship, AND ESPECIALLY THE WAY MY DUDE IVO HRBÁČ(stone's VA, kinda poetic someone called Ivo voices him, innit?) SAYS IT, HAS SUCH A ROMANTIC FUCKING CONNOTATION ISTG. FRUITY ASS MF.

also something to mention! my guy ivo(the VA) gives this role his all, or at least significantly more than the other VAs. from him really yelling in that booth both "he's baaaaccckkk!!!!" and "doctor! take me with you!" through the soft way he says "i can't lose you again" to my personal favourite(which made me get up from my chair and walk around my room for a bit to cool off): him sounding like he's on the verge of tears with "goodbye doctor".

Am i biased? yes. but im also correct in my assertion of him being the absolute highlight of this entire dub. so.

Yandere!Sonic x brainwashed!reader

"Come on, Y/N, snap out of it!" he yelled desperately. His usual cocky grin was nowhere to be found. His face was contorted in panic as he dodged another attack you threw at him, before jumping to Dodge another attack from one of eggmans mechas. His eyes darted between you and Robotnik's latest monstrosity.

But you didn't respond. You simply stood there, your stance rigid, your expression devoid of any emotion. The once bright spark in your eyes had been replaced by an eerie, lifeless glow. Robotnik’s laughter echoed through the air, sharp and mocking.

"Looks like your little 'friend' has finally seen the light, hedgehog!" Robotnik sneered, leaning out of his floating pod. "They're mine now, and there’s nothing you can do about it!"

Sonic clenched his fists, his body tensing as his mind raced for a plan. "You’re wrong, Egghead! I'll get them back, no matter what!"

Robotnik only laughed harder, motioning toward you. "Go on, my dear. Show Sonic where your loyalty lies."

Your body moved, almost mechanically, stepping forward with cold, unrecognizable precision. Sonic flinched as you raised your weapon, one of Robotnik’s energy blasters, aiming it directly at him.

"Y/N, come on! Snap out of it!" He desperately wanyed to try and shake you out if it but you aimed the weapon at his head.

Without hesitation, you pulled the trigger.

Of course, Sonic is still the fastest thing alive, so he dodged it easily, darting to the side. He skidded to a halt, his eyes filled with a mix of shock and heartbreak. You were really trying to hurt him.

"Guess I’ll have to do this the hard way," he muttered to himself, shaking off the dread creeping into his chest.

Sonic lunged forward, zipping around you in a blur. He didn’t want to hurt you, but he needed to disarm you somehow. As he closed the distance, he could see the faint tremor in your hands.

You turned to him, aiming at him, and firing, though he dodged.

"Come on Y/N! Youre better than this!"

For a brief moment, recognition flickered through your eyes. But it was quickly snuffed out as Robotnik barked another order.

"Enough!" Eggman ordered. "Finish him, or you’ll regret it!"

Your body stiffened, your movements becoming even more rigid. Sonic gritted his teeth, frustration bubbling up inside him. He hated Robotnik more than ever. How could he- no, how dare have the audacity to lay his hands on you.

"Fine, If you won’t let them go, I’ll just have to take them back."

Sonic closed the gap between you in an instant. . You lashed out, your movements swift and precise, but Sonic was faster. He dodged your strikes with ease, his focus unshakable. As you swung at him again, he caught your wrist, holding you in place.

Sonic held your wrist tightly as he sped away from the battlefield, dodging blasts and debris from the collapsing mecha behind him. His heart was pounding. He refused to let Robotnik keep you like this, this cold, unrecognizable version of yourself. He wasn’t going to lose you.

"Hang in there, Y/N," he muttered under his breath as he reached a secluded clearing far from the chaos. He gently set you down, though you struggled, thrashing against his grip with the same mechanical precision. "I'm sorry about this," he said softly, grabbing a piece of rope he’d snagged earlier and tying your wrists and ankles together. You struggled harder, but Sonic was too fast and too determined.

Once you were secure, Sonic knelt in front of you, his hands gripping your shoulders as he stared into your lifeless eyes. "This isn’t you," he whispered. "You’re stronger than whatever Robotnik’s done to you. I’ll fix this, I promise."

He fumbled for his communicator, dialing Tails with shaky hands. "Tails, I need you," "he said as soon as his friend picked up. It’s Y/N… Eggman did something to them. I don’t know what, but they’re not themselves."

Tails voice crackled through the communicator, calm but concerned. "Bring them to my workshop. I’ll see what I can do."

Sonic hesitated, glancing at you as you continued to struggle against the restraints. He hated seeing you like this, but he couldn’t risk untying you just yet. "Alright, but you’d better be ready, buddy. I’m bringing them now."

When Sonic arrived at Tails workshop, the fox was already waiting, tools and scanners laid out in preparation. Sonic carefully carried you inside, setting you down on a padded table as Tails got to work.

"They've gone under some kind of mind control," Sonic explained, pointing toward hus head as he tapped his shoe on the ground. "Eggman’s got them doing his dirty work, and I can’t... I can’t lose them, Tails."

Tails nodded, scanning you with one of his devices. "It looks like Eggman implanted a neural control chip. It’s suppressing their free will and amplifying his commands. I think I can disable it, but it’s going to take some time."

"Then do it," Sonic said firmly, his hands clenched into fists. "I don’t care how long it takes, just fix it."

Tails worked diligently, carefully removing the chip while Sonic stayed by your side, holding your hand even as you fought against him.

Finally, after what felt like hours, Tails let out a relieved sigh. "That should do it. The chip’s deactivated, and their neural pathways should return to normal soon."

Sonic’s ears perked up as he looked at you. Slowly, your eyes fluttered closed, and when they reopened, the lifeless glow was gone. Instead, there was confusion, fear, and, most importantly, recognition.

"Sonic…?" you murmured, your voice shaky.

"Y/N!" Sonic’s voice cracked as he pulled you into a tight hug, relief washing over him. "You’re back! I knew you could fight it."

You blinked, your memories slowly coming back. "What... happened?"

"It doesn’t matter now," Sonic said quickly, holding you closer. "You’re safe, and I’m never letting him hurt you again."

Over the next few days, Sonic barely left your side. He hovered constantly, always checking on you, asking how you were feeling, and making sure you ate and rested. At first, you appreciated his concern, it was comforting to have him so close after everything. But as time went on, his behavior became more and more overwhelming.

"Sonic, I’m fine," you said one afternoon, trying to step outside for some fresh air. But Sonic was already blocking the door.

"Are you sure? What if Robotnik tries something again? You should stay inside where it’s safe."

"Sonic," you said firmly, placing a hand on his shoulder. "I can take care of myself. You don’t have to watch me 24/7."

His eyes softened slightly, but he still didnt relent. "I almost lost you, Y/N. I can't let that happen again. I won't."

You frowned, trying to reason with him. "Sonic, you saved me. I'm okay now. You don’t need to-"

"I do need to," he interrupted, his voice uncharacteristically serious. "You don’t get it, Y/N. I can’t lose you. Ever. You mean too much to me."

The way he said it sent a chill down your spine. You tried to step back, but Sonic caught your wrist.

"Don’t worry," he said, his usual grin returning, "I’ll make sure nothing ever happens to you again. You’re safe with me."

hello!!! ooc question, but i am very curious about the story behind this askblog. i’m pretty sure it’s an au of sorts, definitely not directly from the movieverse judging by a few artworks, and i was just curious about the world and such that surrounds them! how did you fit stone into it all?

Is this an Au?:

Okay, so yes, this is an AU now, I suppose? So what is this AU exactly? I don't really know? I guess it's my perfect Sonic Universe built inside the recesses of my mind, with more of a heavy focus on Doctor Robotnik and Agent Stone than the actual Sonic team.

Does this AU take place in a specific Sonic!verse?/ Why and how is Stone here?:

I like to think it is my perfect mix of the movie-verse, comics, and games.

The movie I obviously pulled Agent Stone out of that universe and struck him right into this one. But I also change a lot of things around about his character and others to make him fit and the stories more complex and interesting.

Exhibit A: Stone is the one who built and designed Metal Sonic in this AU... and Robotnik doesn't even know Metal exists😀 (yet). (This one is personally based off my own desires and theories for the next movie.)

So what's this weird Sonic!verse hybrid AU that you've created? How does this world function???:

I'd like to think this universe takes place not on Earth but the planet Mobius ofc. Where humans are rare and mobians are more commonplace.

Robotnik and Stone did not grow up together they probably are from completely different human (only. I like to think humans are pretty isolated species considering their rarity here) cities or something like that, but they were both very involved and curious about the mobians that resided outside of human residencies. Their common interests and somewhat overlapping jobs brought them together.

I'm still fumbling around with these ideas in my head. If any like diehard "I've been a Sonic fan since the womb" fans have (kind!) suggestions I'd like to read 'em. They might inspire me.

How did you make their designs?:

The games mostly are what inspired their designs. Uh I took Eggmans design from Sonic Adventure 2 (iconic ofc I would) and I had to look at Stone from the movies, other people's designs, and Eggman's game design to basically wing it for that one. (Originally, I was only making the first drawing I did of them and the kiss experiment comic. It's only because they blew up, and I walked specifically petitioned for an askblog that I'm still here, haha🖐😭) I'm really glad that Stone's design seems to be so beloved, though. I made it in like... 15 minutes? If I had known his impact, maybe I would've spent longer, but honestly, I love him so I wouldn't change anything.

Ivo is a meister, Stone is a weapon.

Stone is a scimitar. I dont have much in the way of a design right now but I'm thinking black handle with gold or bronze accents? He masters his transformation at a very young age, and by the time he enters the DWMA he's quite adept at partially transforming, able to wield himself quite competently by transforming his arm into a blade.

At orientation, Ivo is loud, cocky, and obnoxious. He doesn't think any of these incompetent weapons who can barely transform at will are worth his time, they'd never be able to keep up with him. He laments how his class is clearly full of a bunch of sniveling morons and it was a waste of time to even enroll. Stone has a similar thought process, that none of these meisters are capable of wielding him properly nor of keeping up with his rapid development pace. He's just far, far less loud and obnoxious about it.

Despite ivo's obnoxious arrogance, Stone does find himself intrigued by him, wondering if he can back up that cockiness with real skill. Just as he moves to approach him, Stein decides he's had enough of listening to this kid and steps in. "Why don't you show us what you're capable of, Ivo?" Scans the souls of the crowd, zeros in on stone and yes, these souls are highly compatible, he thinks. "Stone, why don't you help him out?"

He doesn't need to be asked twice. With no warning, he takes a running leap towards Robotnik and transforms fully midair. Robotnik catches him with ease; their souls must be compatible, then, if he doesn't even fumble let alone drop the blade. He tosses Stone in the air a few times to test his weight, and then gives a few experimental slashes with him. Oh yes, this weapon will do just nicely, he thinks.

He can't resist the urge to show off after being handed the opportunity on a silver platter. He wields stone with perhaps a bit of flair, leaping into the air and spinning as he slashes downwards. He's nimble on his feet, jumping back from an imaginary kishin with stone held up as if to block a blow, and then charging forward and slashing the air with not so much as a stumble.

Suffice it to say, they become partners after that. And they're a fearsome duo. They speed through lessons with ease, theyre perfectly in sync, and its not even a month before theyre taking on their first demon soul. Their soul resonance is powerful, and its on their 5th hunt when they manage their first special art.

Their progress is rapid from there. They master multiple special arts, claim demon soul after demon soul. Within the first year, Ivo makes Stone a death weapon. They're a highly respected duo among the academy, even with ivo's....eccentricities. Yeah, he may be insufferable and rude, but he made a death weapon within his first year! Shinigami sends them to hunt the strongest demon souls, ones on the brink of becoming a kishin, as well as the strongest witches no other duo can handle.

Oh also stone has his motorcycle in this, its how he and ivo travel to their marks :) just like soul and maka

Robotnik x Stone: "As the song says" pt 1

(apologies for any inconsistencies etc, this is set roughly after the second movie and I still haven't seen the third) (note, small dialog change to one of Robotnik's lines to correct a term used)

      The wilderness of Alaska holds many secrets.       Travel to a small waterfall tucked away in a pine forest and carefully make your way past the icy waters into a nook carved out in the black rock. Search carefully and you will find a panel hidden behind a false rock cover. Should you manage to enter the correct code and get past the voice recognition, a large panel would slide away to reveal an elevator. Take this down and you are now at a long hallway lined with metallic doors. The rock walls and ground are replaced with sleek tiles that light up from within, giving an almost eerie appearance to the place. The doors are all closed except for one at the end of the hall. It's cracked open and a driving beat echoes out.

      Robotnik leaned back in his chair, foot tapping along to the pulsing beat. The table near him was loaded down with papers, sketches of new robot designs, and three computer monitors glowed brightly. Two showed various documents while the third was pulled up to show a media player, the visualizer throbbing to the music. Robotnik spun in his chair to the melody before slamming a foot down to stop the movement. He moved the controller on the arm of the chair, floating over to the table.           "Ahh, you may present yourself as a deceased Mus musculus, but your melodies are definitely alive." he said, picking another song and adding it to the playlist. Reaching over blindly to where his afternoon coffee should have been, he grasped empty air. Turning, he stared at the vacant spot before glancing at the clock. It was just past four in the afternoon; Stone should have slipped in and placed his drink on the table by now. Pausing the music, he got up and entered the hallway.           "Stone?!" he called out. A faint click and the sound of fumbling came from behind the closest door. It whooshed open and Stone rushed out, looking like a deer in headlights. Robotnik raised an eyebrow at him.           "You're late." he said bluntly.           "Sorry sir!" Stone darted into his room and back out before taking off for the kitchen. "I'll get that done now!" Robotnik tapped his foot again, taking note of the original room Stone came out of.           "The medical bay. Strange." Glancing down the hall towards the kitchen door, he slipped into the med bay. The overhead lights came on as he entered, revealing the bright, sterile room. Everything seemed in place. Reaching up, he snapped a finger.           "Yes, Lord Robotnik?" a computerized female voice responded to the trigger sound.           "What device was just used in this room?" he asked.           "Record indicates the medical diagnostics was used last by one Lee Stone."           "And what tests were run?"           "My apologies, due to HIPAA inclusion in medical programming, I am unable to provide that information."       Robotnik grumbled. "I knew including that would be a mistake."           "Not that I'm suggesting you search for this," the robo voice spoke up, "but medical diagnostics always include a paper printout with the analysis."       "Of course! And Stone was holding a paper when he left here." Robotnik smirked. "Glad I thought of it."

      Entering Stone's room, his sharp eyes took everything in. He had never ventured into his henchman's private quarters before. The room was tidy, bed neatly made, a bookcase full of carefully arranged books and a desk with a laptop and some writing tools. The one thing out of place was the crumpled-up paper that hadn't made it into the waste basket beside the desk.           "Well, well, what do we have here." He picked it up and smoothed it out, reading over the rumpled printing. He paused, rubbed at his eyes, and read it again.       'Possibility of prolonging lifespan with treatment: 5% - 12%'       'Known cures: 0.' The word 'terminal' in bright red ink glared back at him. Crumpling the paper back up and placing it back beside the basket, he quietly went back to the lab.       As he entered, the lights came on and the media player resumed.           'Did I tell you, I loved you, today?' the sweet, smokey vocals echoed out. Something in the words hit him and he froze, chest tight.           'Did I tell you, I loved you, today?'        His fist slammed into the monitor, cracking it. He hunched over the desk, panting as the song finished playing. Feeling a tickle on his cheek, he reached up, his gloved fingertips coming away wet.           "Sir?"       Robotnik yelped, nearly spinning around but stopping himself on time, not wanting Stone to see his face.           "What is it?!" he snapped.       Stone peered past his boss at the broken and sparking monitor as he set the steaming latte down. "Er, I was just wondering if you had any requests for tonight's dinner."       This made the other pause. "That's right, it's Sunday, isn't it?" he muttered. While Stone usually laid out plans for weekly meals, Sunday was random and Robotnik would pick from a list of his favorites.           "Yes, sir. So," Stone glanced at the monitor again. "Any requests?"           "You pick tonight." Robotnik said, still not looking at him.           "I...Sir?" Making sure his eyes were dry, Robotnik turned, tugging on his coat to straighten it. "You heard me, Stone, you pick something. And not something you'd usually make for me. Make it," he hesitated at the strange words, "something you would enjoy."       Stone's face lit up. "Yes sir!" he turned to rush out but stopped at the door, looking back. "And don't worry! I'll make sure it's something you'll like too; I promise!" he looked behind the scientist. "Did, did you need any help with..." he pointed.       Robotnik glanced back at the monitor which had started to smoke lightly. "Ah, that. No, no, that's nothing. Just a disagreement with a brainless moron, as usual. Claimed Einstein was a 'genius'. One of the Badniks will clean it up." he said casually.

Okay. So, thoughts/critique about Sonic 3:

First of all, this isn't me saying I didn't love it. I enjoyed it a lot and think it's a huge improvement on the last two in many ways. The game references, the music, even some of the comedic bits were great, and it was all-around just a really fun time. I would watch it again and really hope to get it on DVD at some point.

My primary issue--as an annoying Shadow fan since I first played SA2:B when I was 10--is how Maria, Shadow, Gerald, and GUN were handled.

Spoilers below the cut.

I think, really genuinely, they should have shot that 12 year old girl.

We're supposed to dislike and be wary of, if not hate, GUN. They're a parody of the military (particularly the US military), and their whole purpose in SA2 was to be a fumbling but frightening antagonistic force that put saving face over the safety of the people they're meant to protect. They try to frame Sonic for Shadow's crimes because the government wanted a scapegoat and didn't want to risk it coming out about the debacle on ARK. Shadow was created to cure Maria, yes, but he's also a weapon, which GUN funded. GUN created their own problems and decided to take out that problem by massacring everyone on ARK, including an ill child, because they preferred covering their hands in blood than taking a fall and admitting they might have screwed up with Project: Shadow. Never mind that Maria also had NIDS, which is kind of the Sonic universe's version of AIDS, and all the commentary that holds, intentional or not.

But the film waters it down by not only not really acknowledging that Maria is sick (?? unless I missed that, but. there just feels no reason for Maria to be in this base, which isn't even in space), and having her death be an accident rather than GUN's orders. Yes, it's still a GUN soldier's fault, and yes, there is a line that essentially says he's cool with shooting a kid because he's "following orders", but he's still stopped by another GUN soldier, and the explosion that kills Maria is still an accident. GUN is "softened".

Contrast this to SA2, or even Sonic X where we get to see the soldier who killed Maria again in his old age, broken down with guilt over what he'd done and regret because he'd "just followed orders", and it just feels... I dunno. Like some of the tragedy and anti-military stance that the Sonic franchise has regularly pushed lost its teeth. This is my biggest gripe.

But something else that bothers me is Gerald. His characterization goes beyond the flanderization of Dr. Robotnik, he's just completely mischaracterized into being Dr. Robotnik but old. The OG Gerald was a kind-hearted scientist who loved his granddaughter and the people of earth. He was a little nutty and a little grey in some of his ethics, but overall, he wanted to help people. But when GUN killed his colleagues and Maria, then locked him up, he went insane with grief, altered Shadow's memories to turn him into a weapon of revenge, and was executed.

Obviously, I didn't really expect the film to both shoot Maria and Gerald, but I think that turning Gerald into a silly evil scientist with no real distinction from Dr. Robotnik, and completely getting rid of the canon that he altered Shadow's memories was... not the best move. It, again, waters down the tragedy of ARK and GUN's horrific actions. It's just kind of weird, you know? I can't get behind Shadow wanting to destroy the earth that Maria loved if he didn't think that was what she wanted. Revenge for Shadow was never about himself. It was about Maria. His desire to carry out her dying wish has always been his primary motivator.

The resolution is kinda bland, too. In the film, Shadow's change of heart comes not because he remembers that Maria wanted him to help humanity and keep it safe in spite of its cruelty, but because he remembers she's always with him and... I dunno, I guess that's enough to forgive GUN or something, like they weren't totally gonna kill that little girl.

"But, Merri! The Sonic movies are for children! They wouldn't understand a complex story like that! It'd be too graphic!"

SA2 was made for children as well. It's rated E10+, and it isn't graphic. I didn't grasp everything about the story at 10, but I gathered enough and it wasn't jarring or scary for me in the slightest. Kids can handle a lot more than I think people give them credit for, and if something is uncomfy or scary, I think sometimes that's good in a controlled environment, too, because it gives parents the ability to step in and talk to them about it.

I didn't expect Sonic 3 to be a 1:1 of SA2. I liked that it looked at the characters from a different angle. We got to see their stories from Sonic's POV as an insecure kid, rather than a selfsure teenager/adult, and we got to see Dr. Robotnik's descent into madness because of him. It's different, but it's fun, and I think those differences work well because they are completely different. With Shadow's story, I feel like... it just doesn't work as well, because it tried to take the skeleton of his story and build something new, but in doing so, it lost its original message and flattened Shadow's character into something that I just really struggle to find believable. It feels like fanservice without understanding what made SA2 a fan favorite in the first place.

(I also feel some kinda way about glossing over Shadow's sacrifice when it was SUCH a huge thing in the OG story. It's not the Worst Thing compared to my other points. But. Y'know. It's just disappointing that soooo much children's media now refuses to let you sit with any negative emotion for too long before cracking a silly joke. Like. My man Shadow just willingly blew himself up to save the earth... Oh well! Silly camping trip time!!! Heehahoo)

Robotnik did! On accident of course. He meant to shout his usual "I love the way you make them!" then fumbled horribly and said "I love you!".

Luckily for him, the lab is soundproof. And Stone smiled so brightly he feared his red-tinted goggles wouldn't be enough to shield him from the intensity of it.
