+ I mean… we all know Mello joined Rod’s gang by bringing him the head of a rival boss. But I’m pretty sure he did it… literally. How else would a gang full of 6′4″ dudes with Uzis ever take him seriously?? I love imagining him arranging an ingenious meeting with Rod one day, like, Mello somehow tricking him into talking with him, and telling him like… “so I heard you were trying to take this dude out, I can do it for you, ya know. lmao not bragging.” and Rod takes one look at him and just starts laughing his ass off. “Kid (which is what he calls Mello, btw)… I’ve lost six men to trying already, and their balls had already dropped.” Then Jose throws his ass into the street. A week later, Mello shows up at the front door of their HQ (how did he find us??? Kal gasps audibly, knowing Rod is going to kick his ass for this because everything is Kal’s fault) with a bloody pillowcase (because gift wrapping is NOT appreciated by any of those no-taste mafiosos…) and says “happy birthday, I work for you now. You’re welcome.”

+So you know that panel where Mello is sitting on the couch back perched behind Rod’s shoulder? Not a headcanon, just wanted you to think about it. :’) Here's another one btw:

+Their relationship actually has a somewhat solid basis of trust and respect. Even though Rod is an absolute maniac sometimes and would gouge your eyes out without a second thought, he’s incredibly intelligent--

--and Mello respects him for that. Even though Mello is a prissy little bitch that really only cares about what he cares about, Rod's like... well, he’s kind of a genius and his ideas have worked out in the past. And he’s pretty scary. They both like that about each other. Just generally being able to intimidate the shit out of ANYBODY that would dare look their way.

+Rod is probably pretty outwardly homophobic, and ribs Mello for being effeminate. While he doesn't ever let it go too far, he'll chime in around other members of the mafia. Both of them are secretly a little terrified of anybody finding out that they fuck around once and a while. But that's part of the thrill yk? Whenever anybody’s around, Rod always has a hooker on his leg and tries not to pay Mello any mind. But once they’re alone, Mello thinks it’s funny to bring it up.

+Speaking of letting it go too far, Rod allows any amount of verbal abuse, but has broken up more than a couple fistfights Mello’s gotten himself into with other members of the gang by “running that goddamn big mouth of his all the fuckin’ time.”

+While Rod normally backs Mello 110%, as his infallible plans have done nothing but provide a multitude of viable cash flows and absolute territorial dominance, when they have their disagreements (which get.. heated, to say the least), Mello will totally get physical. Rod finds this hilarious, considering he could literally break his neck with one hand. Anyway Rod only fought back once, when he was in a particularly bad mood, and Mello had to show up the next day skulking around with a black eye and fat lip, his lisp way worse than usual. It was the only time after Mello showed up until the day of his death that Kal actually experienced any degree of human happiness. Btw poor Kal. Read the dude's profile in HTR13 if you want a laugh. #AnneofGreenGables

+Mello was actually really surprised by how soft Rod’s scalp is. He totally oils it and his head always smells like aftershave and stale cigar smoke.

+In fact, in addition to both being super scary, they’re both super vain LOL I bet they both get their backs waxed after a long day clothes-shopping… and they both spend forever putting lotion on after their three-hour bubble baths… they spend all morning in front of the mirror while Rod shaves that WHACK design onto his face and Mello does his makeup… neither of them even looks at the other when they’re having sex because they’re too busy American Psycho-ing themselves in the mirrors they have surrounding their bed.

I'm sure that some has talked about this before, but I have always been confused about Mello's reasoning for kidnapping Takada. I finished a read through of the Death Note manga recently and I FINALLY feel like I understand why. I'm going to break this down into 2 sections: Why he did it, and Did he intend to die?

Why he did it:

While I think it's meant to be kept somewhat vague for narrative purposes, the thing that I never understood fully was the wording in the scene:

Why specifically "his" name? Of course this line always made my little Meronia heart flutter, but before my manga read through I never quite understood it. If Near's plan to catch Kira went wrong, all of the SPK would die, not just Near. So why the emphasis on him? Especially if we are looking at a completely surface level reading of DN where Mello purely hates Near? But then I found this moment a few chapters earlier:

To summarize what is happening before and after these pages (Chapter 90), Near tells Light that there are 4 members of the SPK and that he is in Japan. He says they might meet soon. This is all coded language to challenge Light to an in person meeting. At this point Near admits that he doesn't have a concrete plan in place for confronting Light. But he knows they must meet Kira face to face and prove his identity by having a name written in the Death Note. This is prior to the SPK starting their investigation into Mikami. The part that stuck out to me was " When we meet Kira, the first person he'll write down is me, so..." To me this means that prior to finding Mikami and adding fake pages to the death note, Near planned to sacrifice himself to catch Kira if they didn't have any other options. This DIRECTLY correlates to Mello's line (read right to left):

Mello kidnapped Takada because he knew that if he didn't there was a good chance Near would die. This is literally the only reason that the text give us. Which leads me to our next part.

Did he intend to die?

While I've seen a lot of different takes on this, many of which I find very interesting, I now believe that yes, Mello kidnapped Takada with the intention to be killed by the death note. Here is my reasoning.

Mello knows better than anyone else investigating Kira how the death note works. Like L wanted to before his death, Mello used his time in the mafia to experiment with the rules of both the death note AND the shinigami eyes.

In the manga, Mello has one of the mafia members Kal Snydar (a.k.a. Jack Neylon) make a deal for the shinigami's eyes. Rod and Mello use Snydar's eyes to kill others for an extended period of time. This would give Mello at least a basic understanding of how they work; what face coverings inhibit the eyes, etc... And then after his encounter with Soichiro Yagami he becomes aware that there is always a chance that anyone associated with Kira could have the eyes. He also knows that Kira knows his name but not his face after the explosion. Meaning that he would know that the ONLY thing stopping Kira from killing him would be his face. Given that Mello never uses the death note himself but had other's use it for him, I believe that he also would theorize that Kira would do the same (such as X-Kira/Mikami, Misa, and Takada). Because of all of this he would be especially careful around anyone he knows has connections to Kira, such as Takada the spokesperson of Kira.

Moving on to the kidnapping. Mello wears a motorcycle helmet that appears to be tinted, but is clear enough to fully discern his face through. We know from previous instances that a dark tinted visor will block the shinigami's eyes from seeing your name, which most motorcycle helmets already have. Here is a comparison of a helmet used to block the face vs what Mello wore:

Mello specially chose one with a clear enough visor to see through. You could argue that he did this to show Halle who he was, allowing him to take Takada. However if this was his intention there were many other ways to make his identity clear to Halle without revealing his face. There is also the line on this page that intrigues me. "She's connected to Kira... Unless I do this..." The sentence structure implies that there is a direct consequence Mello envisions. Unless you do this...then what? Given everything else I have outlined above to me the implication is "Unless I do this then Near will die." You could argue that he’s thinking something like “Unless I do this then Near will win!” However, Mello has always been outspoken in his desire to be the one to catch Kira. If that’s what he was thinking wouldn’t it just say that? Whatever his reason is is something he can’t bring himself to say even in the privacy of his own brain.

If you were to argue that Mello didn't realize that his helmet was clear enough to see his face, this is then made moot when he takes it off in front of Takada. There was no reason for him to do this, in fact, there were a multitude of reasons not to. Even if Takada didn't have death note pages on her, Mello knows that if she escapes, Kira could easily ask her to write his name in the death note because she knows his face. You may then think "but why does Mello take precautions to not get followed and killed by Takada's men? He takes away and ships off anything that could be bugged and tracked including her clothing." This just further proves that he is trying to be killed specifically by the death note. The kidnapping is planned to a T, but he doesn't take the simplest precaution of concealing his face from one of Kira's biggest supporters.

So what was Mello’s plan? We know that Mello is someone who plans for a lot of different contingencies. We see this when he plants bombs through out his safe house in the event that he’s backed into a corner. Because of this I believe he had a few different plans. But no matter what his goal with kidnapping Takada is to force contact with Kira. In fact, Near thinks that Mello’s goal is to use Takada as bait.

What his exact plan was up in the air for me. He may have intended to be killed by her, thinking that she had access to a death note when kidnapped which would explain why he didn’t check her over before giving her the blanket to cover herself. He states that his intention of taking her clothes is to removing any tracers so her bodyguards didn’t find them. They make a deal that he will give her the blanket before taking off her underwear, where she’s hiding her pages of the death note.

Even if Mello didn’t know that you can used pages torn out of the death note, there are a few time in the series when a person hides a full death note under their clothes (Near being my favorite example). So it’s not out of the question that she could have had one tucked into the back of her underwear.

His plan also could have been to release her in some way so that she could get back to Kira and use the death note. Mello knows Kira has his name, now with Takada having seen his face Kira would have her write Mello’s name for him. Or it could have been that he intended to use her to draw Kira out and get killed by the death note in the process.

Going back to our first example from the manga, Near says "The fact that we replaced the pages in the notebook and the notebook happened to be a fake… I find it hard to believe that Mello thought that far ahead." I do agree with Near here. I don't think that Mello had figured out that the notebook was fake. But I do think that Mello could see that Near's plan had holes in it, and any mistake would result in Near getting killed. His solution was to be the name that was written in the book instead. You can argue in a lot of different ways why it was important to Mello that Near lives. Such as, Mello knew that with Near dead he didn't have any hope of catching Kira by himself with all of this resources and allies depleted. Or my favorite reason, despite his protests Mello deeply cares for Near and was willing to die if it meant Near would survive.

Mello knew he was the crazy boyfriend. The one that always had an arm around you, always had to meet your friends, always had to know where you were. He didn't know why and he didn't care to know why he was the crazy one.

In fact, the one thing he did want to know, was why in the fuck was some guy putting his arm around you?

Mello was across the room. His mafia group decided to hit a bar one night, some of the members bringing their significant others along. Mello decided to bring you along tonight, hoping to get the memo across to everyone that you were his.

Unfortunately, it seemed like someone didn't get the memo. He had just gone to get some drinks for himself and you. He stood frozen amongst the crowd, acting like he had just caught you making out with this guy.

Of course, he knew that wasn't the case, but he couldn't stand seeing someone other than him touch you. Gripping the glasses so hard he was afraid he'd break them, he finally marched closer to the two of you. Of course, as he got closer, he saw that the man had also gotten a drink for you...

"Yeah!" The man laughed. "So then I said-"

"Hey." Mello growled from behind them. "What're you doin' with my girl?"

Both of you turning around, the man seemed surprised at both Mello's words and his presence. The man didn't get a chance to lean away before Mello balanced both drinks in one hand while yanking you back into him with his now free one.

"I was just-"

"Scram!" Mello snapped at the guy, gaze angry and crazy.

The guy, not wanting to possibly get killed, turned and disappeared into the crowd. Mello then turned to you and swiped the drink out of your hand. "Don't drink that!"

"I wasn't planning on it..." You murmured.

Mello threw the drink on the ground, scaring a few people nearby. He then dragged you over to a corner and handed you the drink he got for you before tugging you harshly against him. Yelping, you looked around, hoping the bouncer wouldn't come to kick you two out.

"Why the fuck are you looking around? You want him that bad?" Mello growled in your ear.

"No, I'm making sure the fucking bouncer doesn't kick us out." You snapped back. "And why are you mad at me? I didn't choose to have that guy come up and-"

"Because you didn't fucking move away!" Mello argued back, feeling rage bubble up in his system.

"If you didn't notice, he was kind of all fucking over me."

"Oh my God- that's when you move! I swear, you're so fucking stupid sometimes." Mello didn't mean it, it had slipped out.

Staring at him in shock for a moment, you huffed and turned to leave the bar altogether. Mello, realizing what he just said, reached out to grab your arm.

"Wait- wait, babe, I'm sorry I didn't mean-"

"Get off of me, Mihael!" You yanked your arm out of his grip before slamming your drink down on the table next to Rod. "Here, a drink for you since you can't control your blonde bombshell."

Rod gave you a confused look, but didn't have time to respond as you stormed out of the bar. Mello hung back, looking shocked, apologetic and honestly afraid as you left. Rod turned and saw Mello gazing after you before shaking his head and downing the drink.

Outside the bar, you went to wait next to Matt's car, hoping at least one of them will come out to comfort you...or give you a jacket...because it is damn cold outside. You could hear the music from the bar from outside, and several stragglers were hanging out outside anyways.

However, as if hanging next to his car summoned him, Matt came over and silently leaned against his car next to you. He lit a cigarette before you said anything.

"Did Mello send you out here?"

Matt took a drag before answering. "Nope. But I did see what happened. Wanted to check on ya, and get out of that damned bar heat."

"I'm fine." You crossed your arms over your chest.

Matt looked you over. "You seem far from it."

"...whatever." You sighed.

"Look, Mello's never loved anybody like he loves you, and he doesn't know how to properly-"

"Matt, I get it. But thats not what I need right now."

Matt then grew confused. "Then...what do you need?"

"My fucking boyfriend to get out here and apologize to me." You finally looked up at Matt.

Shrugging, he took another drag of his cigarette. "Well...you could always kiss me and pretend I'm Mello."

You chuckled and nudged him. "Yeah, exactly what I need. Another reason for Mello to be angry."

"At least that time his anger would be warranted." Matt chuckled before taking another drag, a particularly long one before flicking the ashes off. "Look I'm sure Mello will...well...mellow out. He always does, yeah?"

"Until I hear an apology from him, I wont mellow out." You looked up at the dark sky.

"Say no more." Matt spoke before taking another drag.

"Matt, I'll take over from here." Another voice sounded from behind you two.

Matt nodded before walking off. Mello took his place. He looked you over with a frown, then tried to grab your hand. In response, you jerked yourself away, refusing to look at him. Mello's frown deepened before he wrapped his arms around your waist and tugged you close, putting his chin on your shoulder.

"I'm sorry."

After a moment you spoke. "For?"

"...um..." Mello looked up at your face.

You couldn't resist - that illicited a small chuckle from you. That made Mello smile.

"Alright, I'm...really, really sorry for getting angry at you and calling you stupid. Should've just punched the guy and left instead."

"Nope, not the solution, but...it's the best I'm gonna get from you." You sighed with a smile and turned to him. "You mean it?"

"Yeah. Yeah - babe, I hate getting angry with you." Mello was now at full height now. "I was just...really angry at how shameless that guy was. I mean, he knows you're mine."

His grip tightened on your waist. "Right? You're mine, right?"

"Of course I am."

"What was that guy even talking about anyway?"

"Some bullshit story about how he took out a target you guys had."

"Ha! When? In his dreams?" Mello laughed. "That guy just joined."

"I figured he looked new." You laughed with him.

After the laughter died down, Mello kept you in place, looking at you with adoring eyes and a soft smile. "Look...I...really am sorry. I didn't mean anything I said to you in there."

"Just...stick to punching them and then leaving, yeah?" You joked, making Mello laugh.

"Sure...you uh, wanna go back in?"

"Sure." You answered after a moment.

"M'kay good, because I wanna show off that mark on your neck."

"What mar-"

Before you could finish, Mello dove to your neck, biting the skin and sucking a deep purple hickey into it. Clucthing on to him and letting out a small moan, Mello chuckled as he pulled away. "That one."

"You sly bastard."

"That's me. Kiss me, baby." Mello puckered his lips and leaned forward.

Rolling your eyes before kissing him, you decided that maybe having a crazy boyfriend had some specific perks.

Summary: In anticipation of my first dress purchase in 7(+) years, here's a fic about Ramona giving my s/i the exact same dress I ordered. :0)

A warm summer breeze wafted through the open windows of Ramona’s duplex as she sorted through her expansive wardrobe. One of her current boyfriends, Cola, had come over to help with the task as well, and now returned to her room from getting a Mello Yello from her fridge.

“How’s it coming along, ‘Mona?” They asked, sipping on their soda.

“I don’t think we’re even halfway through,” she sighed as she compared two similar pairs of shorts.

“Hey, at least we’ve got the categories sorted out, right?” Cola tapped the sticky notes labelling each pile: donate, garbage, upcycle, keep, never worn… it set its drink aside and dived into the closet, brushing his hand over all the different textures of Ramona’s garments. “Man, you always have the cutest shit…”

Ramona smiled. “I know. You compliment me all the time.”

“Yeah, because you’re my girlfriend, and that’s my job. To bask in your inherent beauty and good taste.” They turned around to glimpse the sure blush on her round cheeks, then turned again as a dress caught their eye. They plucked it off of the hanger rod and brought it out into the light. “Does this one still fit you?”

It was a short, white number with lacy details and off-the-shoulder puff sleeves. A small, cross-shaped detail situated under the bust glittered in the afternoon sun rays.

“I honestly forgot I had it,” Ramona set down the shorts on their respective piles and took the dress from her partner, holding it up to her body and looking at her reflection in her full-length mirror. She turned slightly, eyeing how the fabric lay against her curves. “It might. I’m not sure if I still want it, though.”

She handed it back to Cola, who seemed mesmerised by the garment. “I haven’t worn a dress in ages. I stopped because, you know, I didn’t feel like much of a man, wearing them and being shaped the way I am…”

“You can try it on if you want.” She then pointed to Cola’s soda can. “Can I have a sip?”

“Yeah, sure,” Cola smiled and handed it to her, their eyes sparkling. “A-and… you mean it?”

“Of course.”

“Well… alright! Best do it now and not like how it looks than not do it and regret it later.” Cola laid the dress on Ramona’s bed, removing the hanger, and set to stripping away its Weezer tank top and jean shorts, leaving itself in a black sports bra and white boxers.

“Here, I’ll help you. Arms up, and take off your glasses,” Ramona instructed, setting aside the can and reaching for the dress. Blushing, Cola did as it was told. Bunching up the thin fabric, Ramona laid it at Cola’s feet. He stepped into it and allowed her to pull the dress up his body, adjusting it as needed so that it looked right on him. He slipped his arms into the cuffs and anxiously pressed his palms down on the skirt of the dress, completely red in the face. Ramona smirked and handed him his glasses.

“W-well?” Cola asked quietly, too anxious to look in the mirror.

“See for yourself,” Ramona hummed, gently turning him toward his reflection. Slowly looking up, it gasped, covering its mouth.

“Holy shit…”

“You are adorable, Cola.” She leaned over and pecked his cheek, making him bury his face in his hands in embarrassment.

“You’re sure I can keep this?” He asked softly after lifting his face and inhaling sharply.

“Yes, Cola, you can keep it, I’m not going to wear it. We can go on a date, you wear this and I’ll wear my blue dress.”

Cola giggled, twisting his short hair around his finger. “Oh, gee, that’d be…” He giggled again and cleared his throat. “Sounds like a plan. Why don’t we do it tonight, take a break from this clean out and get some dinner with Scott?”

Ramona nodded and kissed him again, on the lips this time. “I love you, Cola.”

“Love you, too, Rammy.”

What Fortnite skins can be generated?

Some of the axes like ‘Spider snare’, ‘Mello mallets’, ‘Zen axe’ or ‘Stun rod’ are very rare or even legendary, but therefore are some of the best looking axes in the game. Your pickaxe will show up in the fourth square after generating the items.

Random Fortnite skydiving trail

A skydiving trail is just like the back bling a cosmetic item. There will be no benefit from it, but nonetheless very cool to show off with. Most of the skydiving trails are ‘uncommon’ or ‘rare’ as you probably know but there are some hidden charms among them, for instance ‘Portal particles’, ‘Beachballs’, ‘lava’ and ‘Symbiote trail’. Your skydiving trail is visible in the fifth square.

Random Fortnite wrap

A wrap is also just a cosmetic item, but wraps will give you a little bit more benefit within the game. Wraps will change the way your weapons and vehicles behave, and will give you that little bit of extra personal flavor in the world of Fortnite, my personal favourites are ‘X insignia’, ‘callsign hornet’, ‘Finfin flair’ and last but definitely not least ‘Galactic carnaval’. The last square will show you your random Fortnite wrap.

Actually, Y/N hadn’t to buy so many things, they wanted to enjoy Mello's company outside his "work place". However, that "weak person" fascinated him somehow, they made something click inside him: he had this need to protect them, to know where they were (and mostly with who) in order to keep them safe.

Mello didn’t trust Y/N immediately but we couldn’t say the same for Y/N: they loved Mello since the beginning, they knew that with Mello they would never be in danger. The bond they created was so intense that the two became not long after their first encounter. However, as mentioned before, Mello took his time to open up with Y/N but they waited for him patiently.

Since the beginning of their relationship, Mello wanted Y/N around him all the time. The fact that they weren't a member of his clan could be a problem but he solved it quickly: he made sure you had always someone behind just to keep an eye on you.

Nobody had to touch, to talk, to hang out, to look and even to think about Y/N without his permission. Y/N was his and his alone.

Y/N seized on the chance to run towards him and Mello, already in his "protective mood", immediately put a hand on Y/N's shoulder pressing them against his chest.

«Thank you, Mels~» Mello's partner smiled in admiration at him and this made him blush a bit.

I’ve been struggling to draw lately. These are some more scruffy doodles of Near, based on an AU I talked about with @mizzmello a while ago. An AU where Near and Mello’s positions are reversed and Near is the one who joined with Rod Ross. I remember a joke about Rod not needing to smoke, because he takes in all of Near’s second hand cigar smoke. A couple of little titbits in here. The jacket that Near is wearing in the bottom right hand corner, is inspired by the jacket worn by Harold, from ‘Harold and Maude’. The Star of David earring is an odd sort of answer to Mello’s rosary, even though I do no that really see Near as a practicing or racial Jew. I can see Linda replacing Matt in this AU. x
