Maybe it’s not that toxic
Couples who break up and get back together all of the time may be dysfunctional, may be unhealthy, may be toxic, but there's also something beautiful and genuine about it. They will always be drawn to each other and they will always have that damaged, but unbreakable connection. It won't always be happy, it won't always be exciting, and it won't always be easy, but that's okay because the pain's only a reminder that you truly care. It also shows how strong they are and how they're willing to fight for one another because a real relationship is two imperfect people refusing to give up on each other. Sometimes, you have to walk away to realize what you're leaving behind. Sometimes, you have to let go in order to remember why you held on for so long. Sometimes, you have to lose someone so you can find their worth and value again. There will days where you won't deserve each other, there will times where you'll hate each other, and there will be moments where you'll feel like you're truly done. But in the end, your heart will always be in the right place. Your mind might not always be in the right place, but your heart always will be. Everybody will judge and have their opinion on it, but as long as you two understand each other and know your relationship, that's all that matters. It'll never be perfect, it'll never be ideal, but it will last because they both know that even if they leave each other from time to time, they'll always find each other again.

Joey Tribbiani x Reader (HE CHEATS)
*THIS IS THE JOEY FROM SEASON 1*
You had been dating Joey for a year. Today was your anniversary and you had everything planned. You were going to surprise Joey in the morning and take him to do all his favorite things.
You put on his favorite dress (which was very slutty) and went to his apartment. You had used your spare key to open the door to Chandler and Joey's apartment and noticed Chandler wasn't home which was more perfect.
You knew Joey was still asleep as it was still somewhat fairly early and you snuck to his bedroom and opened the door with a grin. "Surprise-!" You froze. Joey jolted forward and looked at you in horror. He was under the blankets, seemingly naked with a seemingly naked woman right next to him.
He looked almost as shocked as you to see a woman next to him but that didn't fix anything. You chuckled, tears threatening to spill as you turned and walked off. "I-, wait Y/N!" He called out to you. Hearing his footsteps close in behind you, you tried to walk faster but being in heels made it more difficult. He then grabbed your arm and tried to pull you back.
You snapped your arm away and continued to walk away. You had made it to the hall and he grabbed your arm again. "Joey! Let. Me. Go!" You spat, not even looking at his face. "Please you have to listen to me.. I was drunk and-" "Screw you I'm not listening to you." Trying to pull your arm away you had to turn your head. He had your wrist in a tight grasp.
You kept your head low, your hair in your face and you tried to claw away at his hand and you noticed he only had on a blanket wrapped around his body. "What's going on?" Monica and everyone else says as they walk into the hall. "Ask Joey and his new girlfriend." You point to the inside of the apartment as you noticed the woman had woken up and gotten dressed and was watching nervously.
"Y/N please!" "Fuck off!" You snapped yourself out of his grasp and ran down the hall and down the stairs. Joey hadn't gone after you as there was no use. Joey looked at all your friends and gave him a disproving glare before going inside, all but Chandler.
Chandler was your childhood best friend and you both were like siblings as you both had none.
"Y'know.. She had the whole day planned out for you both. Can't keep it in your pants huh?" He gave Joey a glare before going back into Monica's apartment, slamming it shut behind him.
--------------------------------------------
It had been a week since the incident and nobody had seen or heard from you. "I've tried calling her so many times and yet nothing." Joey shook his head. "Actually y'know.. Same with me." Monica chimes in. "Me too." Chandler says.
"Okay I'm going over there. Now I'm worried." Joey says while standing up. "Maybe that's not such a good idea Joe." Monica warned. "Yeah I think you're the last person she wants to see right now." Phoebe chimes in.
"Well what am I supposed to do? She's been missing for a week I'm worried." Joey says with a huff. "Okay how about me, Phoebe, and Rachel go and make sure she's alright. We'll come and tell you after we leave." Monica says and Joey stood there for a moment and hesitated before answering.
"Alright." He says while sitting back down.
--------------------------------------------
Joey was sitting in his recliner when his phone rang next to him. "Hello?" "Hey Joe. So kind of a problem.. She's not answering the door. We're coming to get your spare key and-" "That's it. I'm going over there. Bye Mon." He then hung up the phone before she could argue back.
He grabbed his keys and coat and ran out the door.
He made it to your apartment and didn't even knock before unlocking your door and walking inside. It looked like nobody had been here for days which worried him more. He slowly walked through your living room and headed for your bedroom.
He opened your door slowly and stepped inside to see you asleep on your bed. His heart ached as he saw you curled up with your blankets with used tissues surrounding yourself.
There was rotting food on your nightstand, indicating you haven't eaten in days. He slowly stepped over to the side of the bed you were on and examined your face. There were frozen tear lines below your eyes, bags under your eyes, chapped lips, and a red nose.
His heart hurt seeing you in such pain and on instinct he ran his hand over your face. Your eyes slowly opened to see Joey standing over you. You gasp and sit up quickly. "Y/N." "Get away from me." You say with a hoarse voice. "Please listen to me I beg you." He says in a saddened voice.
You had no energy to argue with him so you stared at him, waiting for his answer. "I.. I was drunk. And I know it's not an excuse but I went out with Ross and Chandler the night before to calm my nerves because..." He says while reaching into his pocket and showing a little black box.
You stared at it in shock as he opened it and saw a ring. "I was only supposed to take a few drinks but I ended up getting separated from Ross and Chandler and drank more. I've kept it in my pocket out of guilt." He says.
"Take it. It's yours." He says while leaning the box towards you. You slowly reach up and take the box and look at the ring for a moment. Feeling anger built up inside you, you threw the box at his chest. "Screw you Joey! Drunk or not you still slept with another woman." "I know.. I know." He mumbles.
"Was that supposed to make me feel guilty so I take you back or what?" You say while starting to break down and he shakes his head. "No Y/N... That was supposed to show you how much of an idiot I am." "Well you definitely succeeded on that." You say with your voice cracking.
He hasn't been able to look you in the eyes the entire time. "I love you Y/N." He says while staring at the box on the floor. "But you don't love me enough to not sleep with another woman." You shot back. His eyes finally flicked up to yours and he opened his mouth to say something but suddenly your bedroom door slammed open to show Monica, Phoebe, and Rachel.
They were out of breath and staring at the two of you while you both stared at them. You then cleared your throat and glanced at Joey. "I think it's time for you to go Joe." You said and he sighed.
He bent down and picked up the box and placed it on your nightstand before walking to your bedroom door, the girls stepping aside. "Please forgive me one day." He says and you stare at him with sadness and anger before he walked away.
Nobody said or did anything until his footsteps faded away and his front door shut. Once it did your tough façade faded away and you broke down, the girls quickly running to your aid.
