Stargate rewatch - Seth
I feel like they’ve lost track of more System Lords than Seth, but ok. At least Daniel’s hair looks much better.
Ohhh Jacob. You’ve got some issues, buddy.
I love Teal’c’s Jaffa joke and his laughter.
Nish’ta is introduced here. I like the tie-in with the Rya’c episode. I also like Jack’s exchange with the ATF guy after the president calls. I love how Sam comes up with the idea to snap them out of the Nish’ta.
Snippity do-dah lol 🤣. The way Jack introduces them as Larry, Moe and Curly.
Yay Sam using the hand device. And I love the two fathers making up with their sons. 🥺

Rya’c - Headcanon

What is a headcanon you used (or plan to use) in a fan work for this adorable kid? (Okay, he’s not a kid in the last shot, but he is throughout most of the show.)
My Answer
After the formation of the Jaffa Nation, he made alliances by visiting the various worlds that his father/SG-1 had visited on their missions.
He is also the go-to when the Jaffa Nation needs someone to interact directly with the Tok’ra.
Rules
It can be canon compliant, canon divergent, involve a crossover, or be completely crack. It doesn’t matter. You can even just make something up right now.
You can include a link to your fic/work if you wish.
It probably goes without saying since I’m posting this before the event started, but the headcanon does not have to involve a GATEathon work.
If the headcanon is not originally yours, say so, and if possible, give credit if possible.
That being said, do not accuse anyone of stealing. Same and similar ideas are going to happen.
Do not criticize each other.
No character bashing. What you do in your work is fine (including in the main event), but I want GATEathon mini events to be safe for everyone to enjoy all the characters.
If you break the rules, especially with bringing in negativity, you may be blocked.

Stargate: The Next Generation
My (half formed) idea for a Stargate continuation series.
So it would start off with Jack’s clone (played by Michael Welch), who is now a Colonel in the Air Force, finally being assigned a place at Stargate Command. He’s being given leadership over a new SG-1 team.
The only other person who I’ve decided on being part of this team would be Rya’c (played by Neil Denis) whose taking his fathers place on the team!
Cassandra (played by Katie Stuart) would have followed in her mom’s footsteps and become a doctor. I’m not sure given the timeline if she would be at the point in her career where she could be the bases CMO when the series starts. But I definitely want her to be the base doctor who treats the new SG-1 team whenever they get injured!
I also know I want Hailey (played by Elizabeth Rosen) to be there as well but she wouldn’t be part of the new SG-1 team cause by this point in the timeline she’d have a much higher rank than Jack’s clone. Maybe she’s like the new head scientist of the base.
I know we need at least two other characters to fill out the new SG-1, but I just can’t think of who I’d want those characters to be. Wether they be all new characters made up solely for this series. Or old characters from the original series. All I know is I kind of want both of these characters to be female. That way we can have 2 male SG-1 members and 2 female SG-1 members.
Daniel is now in charge of Atlantis. He cameos every now and then.
Sam is the general in charge of the SGC. She keeps a picture of the original Sg-1, and a picture of Fraiser and General Hammond on her desk. Every now and then when there’s a scene of her in her office the camera pans to show these two pics. (And maybe at the end of the first episode they do a little tribute “in memory of Don S. Davis”)
Jack has retired by this point, he’s living his best life at his cabin fishing all the time, and him and Sam have finally been able to get married!!!! Sam often talks about him and how he’s enjoying his retirement.
Teal’c is the leader of the free Jaffa and makes occasional cameos to help out the new SG-1 on their missions and to just spend some time with his son ever now and then.
Vala makes occasional cameos. She and Daniel eventually got married and she splits her time between Atlantis and traveling around the galaxy causing chaos.
Mitchel is a general now and he’s in charge of the Beta Site. We get cameos from him once in a while whenever the new SG-1 has to go to the Beta site for one reason or another.
And for the new bad guy of the series. The Furlings finally make an appearance! We know they disappeared from our galaxy a long time ago and we were never given an actual reason for that. I’m gonna say for this series they went off to either a completely different galaxy or to another dimension. And now they’ve returned to this galaxy/dimension, and they bring news with them of the new big bad that’s coming. They’ve been fighting this enemy for generations in this other galaxy/dimension the whole time they’ve been gone, trying to prevent it from making its way to our galaxy/dimension. But they’ve failed and the big bad is on its way and this galaxy/dimension needs to prepare itself. But now we have the Furlings here for the rest of this new series helping the Tau’ri to defeat this new bad guy!
#stargate#stargate sg 1#stargate the next generation#daniel jackson#Sam Carter#jack o’neill#Teal’c#Rya’c#clone Jack#we need more Stargate content#I’m dying to see new stuff for this universe#and I wanna see what happened with Jack’s clone after he got dropped off at school#and what happened with Cassandra#give us new Stargate content goddamnit

As much as I do enjoy Star Trek, I definitely think that Stargate SG1 did a far superior job when it came to having one of the cast have a Child that they couldn’t always be there for.
Specifically I am referring to how TNG in general handled Worf and his son Alexander. Which was honestly just kind of all kinds of terrible imo and Worf comes across as not really caring about Alexander even though they try to make him come across as caring but being all Stoic and unable to properly express his emotions.
SG1 had Teal’c and his Son Rya’c who showed up every now and then in some episodes. Teal’c’s Position is similar to Worf in that he’s the Stoic Warrior of the group that adheres to traditions that are foreign to the others. He also has a son that he has been raising.
The key difference though in my opinion though is the show’s writing makes it evident that Teal’c is doing his best to try to be a father to Rya’c while also trying to fight for the freedom of all Jaffa. This causes conflicts between him and his son and Teal’c isn’t always amazing at expressing how he feels towards his son. But its very obvious he does care and really does give a damned about Rya’c. And little bits of side dialogue also show that offscreen Teal’c does try to see his son and mate as often as he is able to.
Transpose to Worf who really to me anyway came across as perpetually annoyed whenever he had to actually be a parent to Alexander. I know that unlike Teal’c, Worf didn’t really desire to be a father but he chose to not be safe when things got heated with K'Ehleyr, and she was unfortunately killed. Which left Worf as Alexanders only parent.
But they never really to me succeeded in making it seem like Worf ever cared about Alexander on a deep parental level despite the writing seeming to have a half assed attempt at it.
And this isn’t a dig at Worf, I really blame the writing for this, I love Worf as a character he’s awesome. But the writers really just dropped the ball and never picked it back up when it came to Worf and Alexander’s relationship.

Continuing my Stargate rewatch…
Family
What Jack says in the beginning sorta sounds like what Duke Leto Atreides says in Frank Herbert’s Dune: in knowing it’s a trap we can evade it (paraphrased).
Oooffff the situation with Teal’c’s wife! 😬
Uh oh, the tooth! Fake teeth with things that kill you also feature in Dune (though different). Not sure why I’m seeing a bunch of Dune connections here. 🤔
Rya’c kinda sounds like a angsty teenager when he has the tantrum. His brainwashing by Apophis is like a metaphor for the what some things in real life (like cults and fanatic religious groups) can do to kids.

Stargate SG1 and/or SGA! :)
Thank you, Bethany :)
Favorite character:
Least Favorite character: eh, maybe pete? He’s just so meh, so bland, so idiot. I also don’t like Barrett
5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): SAM AND JACK, obv. Jonas and Vala, because it sounds like a good idea. Janet and Sha’re, because why not? Jack and happiness. Teal’c and Ishta, talk about power couple, huh
Character I find most attractive: one? just one? I can’t pick just one. The whole cast is just full of Attractive People. All of them. They’re all beautiful. It’s Sam, I pick Sam
Character I would marry: I don’t think I could actually marry any of them. I’d worry too much and we’d get divorced because of it
Character I would be best friends with: Jonas. And Janet
a random thought: I’d like Stargate: The Next Generation, where Cassie, Hailey, Rya’c and Kar’yn go through the gate, and the old cast is visiting from time to time, except Sam, because she’s in charge of the SGC, so she’s always there, like Hammond used to be. And no one from the original cast is killed off
An unpopular opinion: s9-10 would’ve been much better if they were about the 9th Chevron instead of the Ori
My Canon OTP:
My Non-canon OTP: Jonas and Vala. Look, just think about it, okay. It m a k e s sense
Most Badass Character: Sam and Teal’c are tied for first prize
Most Epic Villain: all of the Goa’uld are more Drama Villains tbh. They got rid of RepliCarter too soon, I feel that she could’ve been epic
Pairing I am not a fan of: any pairing that involves Sam/Jack and someone else basically
Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): I think you can say that they screwed up everyone, a little bit. But I’ll go with Janet. She. didn’t deserve. it.
Favourite Friendship: Teal’c and X, seriously, Teal’c is such a good friend. We should all aspire to be more like Teal’c
Character I most identify with: probably Jonas. Minus the supergenius part.
Character I wish I could be: Sam Carter. Because then I could have my own Jack. And Teal’c, and the whole team :P
hey, send me a fandom, a ship or a character and I’ll tell you

After three weeks of attempting to translate an Ancient tablet, Daniel realizes it’s written in pig latin
Carter has a Girls’ Night Out with Vala and also several other Carters from various parallel realities
Daniel dies eight times in a single episode and gets increasingly pissed with each consecutive death

Genie’s SG1 Rewatch: Bloodlines
Season 1, Episode 12. In which Christopher Judge is devastating and I yell a lot about bad writing.
PREVIEW:
2:35 PM oh man oh god Teal'c don't cry uuugggggh Chris Judge is too good I can't take it
2:37 PM jeez Teal'c destroying the house
1:53 PM Time for "Bloodlines All of the stuff with the goa'uld symbiotes are grooooooss Is Teal'c dreaming? Or having visions? Or just torturing himself?
1:55 PM Oh boy what's going on I don't remember this at all Oh Teal'c, my darling 1:58 PM TEAL'C JUST TELL THEM I wonder if it's a lack of trust or just fear of being vulnerable that keeps him from telling them the reason he wants to go back to Chulak Have I mentioned how much I love Teal'c I love him so much I also really love Teal'c and Jack's friendship, it's so special and good They're not there yet here, but you can see the foundations of it and I just really enjoy that
2:02 PM "A warrior becomes vulnerable if his family is held hostage to the enemy." Ah, that answers that then I just want to pause and really take in just what it was that Teal'c did when he defected Because it is so freaking heartbreaking And they really drive it home later when Drey'auc dies (which, yeah, I don't love) "Everything I have done, I have done for you" [Genie’s afterward: I wasn’t clear that that line is from a later episode, not this one.] *cries forever*
2:05 PM I'm kinda mad at Jack right now, ngl Especially father to father, treating Teal'c this way over him wanting to protect his family Like the SGC/US government is this upstanding, morally unimpeachable entity2:06 PMlike. dude. THEY WANTED TO EXPERIMENT ON TEAL'C AND ALMOST DO (REPEATEDLY) So like, maybe calm the fuck down and have some empathy
2:08 PM "With respect, sir" everyone take a drink
2:10 PM "Yes, and where there's one, there has to be...more than one." LOL Daniel, and at Sam for cringe-laughing at that argument
2:11 PM Uh oh, Jack been called to the principal's office somebody's in trouble Oh, Hammond is legit angry which, well, he's not wrong to be This isn't even Sassy Hardass Hammond This is Disappointed Dad Hammond
2:25 PM HEH Sam looking away from spying in the briefing room oooouch this is awkward "Don't you think we owe him something?" There's the Jack I know and love
2:27 PM oof the SFs
2:29 PM uuugggghhh everyone is in a terrible position oh thank god Sassy Grandpa Hammond is back did...did Teal'c just hit the ESC button to shut down the gate that is HILARIOUS why is the serpent helmet looking at me
2:32 PM those robes look pretty ridiculous man that helmet must be so uncomfortable and heavy I don't think the priest is buying it
2:35 PM oh man oh god Teal'c don't cry uuugggggh Chris Judge is too good I can't take it
2:37 PM jeez Teal'c destroying the house
2:39 PM BRA'TAC thank goodness you're here I don't think I could handle more of this seriously Chris Judge PLEASE STOP EMOTING
2:42 PM OH MY GOD BRA'TAC JUST BIT DANIEL I CAN'T
2:44 PM how I forget that I'm gonna need a minute
2:53 PM Okay I had to walk that off I'm back now In related news, Bra'tac is great
3:26 PM don't really get why Jack chooses to split up the team here (I know it's for plot reasons, but in universe it doesn't make a ton of sense to me)} Hey, Jack mentioned a cliche, everyone take a drink
8:52 PM Why is Teal’c suddenly running? This is a weird battle I wonder why this actress didn’t come back as Drey’auc
8:57 PM LOL at Jack pointing his gun at the clearly dead goa’uld Oh no, I forgot Ryac (can’t remember where to put the apostrophe just now) was sick “Do you see where I’m raising your son?” She’s got a point, Teal’c Dude, I get that emotions are (understandably) high, but accusing your wife, who’s been banished from her home and community after you left without a word, of being selfish is not cool
9:01 PM 😬😬😬😬 I do not like the physical stuff in this I’m glad they let CJ handle more of Teal’c’s backstory later on because this is not a good look Ugh Teal’c picking Ryac up and cuddling him though
9:03 PM I’m bored by the stuff with Sam and Daniel
9:05 PM Rya’c’s actor is so gooooood
9:07 PM I do love that Sam’s grossed out by the symbiotes I feel ya Sam “If we killed them now...” OH BULLSHIT If you kill them now they’ll be dead, jesus Sam I don’t buy for one second she would actually think that She said it because they needed a foil for conflict Whatever bad writing, WHATEVER
9:10 PM Like, there is no ethical conflict here, sorry not sorry I’m never totally comfortable by how they handle kids on this show Ew ew ew But also oh Teal’c I do find it interesting that the Goa’uld dress up receiving a primta in ceremony and religion Because of course they have to make it seem like an honor/like achieving adulthood instead of the enslavement that it is And essentially it’s just plopping a symbiote in their pouch, no great formality is required
9:15 PM It’s sweet that Sam is covering Daniel when the grenade does off Love that dynamic
9:17 PM Oy with the sacrilege talk already This is so dumb They know he’s a false god and the religion is bogus I have a tough time believing they’d care about them stealing a symbiote BUT WHATEVER BAD WRITING W H A T E V E R
9:19 PM Seriously I hate all the stuff with the snakes Hate it
9:20 PM Why the hell can’t they come back with him I don’t get it This is stupid So stupid Poor drey’auc and rya’c ugh They got routed by terrible writing
9:24 PM LOL Bra’tac just showing off Teal’c lugging that dumb helmet around
9:26 PM And that was Bloodlines Some great Teal’c moments but otherwise underwhelming

Canon: Teal’c of Chulak
Name: Teal’c
DOB: March 14
Hair: Black
Eyes: Brown
Occupation: Former First Prime of Apophis, member of SG-1
Status: Formerly married to Drey’nauc of Chulak (widowed); now in relationship with Ishta of Hak’tyl
Teal’c was the son of Ronac, First Prime of Cronus. When Teal’c was still a child, his father was sent to an unwinnable battle by Cronus of the Goa’uld. After his Jaffa soldiers lost the battle they never had a chance to defeat, Cronus punished Ronac by executing him in the most slow and torturous way possible- by removing the goa’uld symbiote all adult Jaffa must carry to keep their immune system functional. Ronac died a horrific death and Teal’c and his mother were forced to flee from their home to the world of Chulak, a Jaffa world run by Apophis. Teal’c vowed to train as hard as possible to become the greatest Jaffa warrior and become the First Prime of Apophis, the enemy of Cronus, in hopes of one day avenging his father’s murder.
Teal’c trained hard for many years under the mentorship of Jaffa Master Bra’tac, First Prime of Apophis. When Bra’tac was old and retired, Teal’c was chosen as the new First Prime as had always been his goal. However, Bra’tac suspected the Goa’uld were false gods and instilled this suspicion discretely in his student.
Teal’c married Drey’nauc on Chulak. Due to his success and loyalty to Apophis they were wealthy and granted many privileges on their home world, including social stature and a beautiful home. Some time after they were married, Drey’nauc gave birth to a son who they named Rya’c.
Ten years after Rya’c’s birth, Teal’c was sent to Abydos and to Earth by Apophis, where he was to capture beautiful human women as possible hosts for Apophis’ mate, Amunet. She chose Sha’re of Abydos, Daniel Jackson’s wife. Sha’re’s own brother, Skaara, was chosen as a future host to Apophis’ offspring, Klorel.
As Teal’c watched Apophis order the other Abydonians who had been captured killed, along with SG-1 who had arrived to try to free Sha’re. Teal’c had reached a point where all of the atrocities he had been forced to commit in Apophis’ name could not longer be carried.
Colonel Jack O’Neill looked to him in the chaos. He saw in Teal’c a reluctance to commit anymore senseless murders.
“I can save these people! Help me!”
Teal’c hesitated. To betray Apophis would be the ultimate seal of his fate in believing the Goa’uld were false gods. It would make all his years of service to the Goa’uld meaningless. He would be hunted. His family would be cut off from their people. But he knew the evils the Goa’uld perpetrated throughout the galaxy had to end. He knew them to be false gods. He knew the Jaffa deserved to live free.
“Many have said that...” Teal’c began, as his conviction grew in his heart. “But you are the first I believed could do it!” He threw a weapon to O’Neill and turned on his own men, firing his plasma staff weapon at them. Helping to free the Abydonians, he told O’Neill as they escaped the cell they were held in, “I have nowhere to go.”
“For this, you can stay at my place!” O’Neill invited Teal’c to return to Earth through the Stargate with them. His trust had been earned. Others would take time, but eventually they came to see Teal’c for his sincere desire to overthrow the Goa’uld and earn freedom for all Jaffa.
At first, Drey’nauc was angry that Teal’c had left Chulak to fight alongside the Tau’ri (earth humans) and put them in a perilous situation. However, she came to see that he was right about the Goa’uld and their need for freedom. Ultimately, when her Primt’a (larval goa’uld) came to maturity she refused another, which cost her her life. Rya’c briefly blamed Teal’c for his mother’s death, but Bra’tac and Teal’c were able to make him see that Jaffa no longer would be slaves to the Goa’uld.
Teal’c and SG-1 brought down Apophis, Heru-ur, Setesh, Hathor, Osiris, Sokar, Tanith, and other Goa’uld. They also defeated Cronus, which gave Teal’c the vengeance he had long sought for his father.
It was several years after he left the service of Apophis that Teal’c was the first Jaffa to give up his symbiote and replace its support with a medication known as Tretonin, engineered from the bloodline of the Tok’ra queen, biologically identical to the Goa’uld but without their inherent lust for power and evil. He began spreading the news of Tretonin to other Jaffa, when he met Ishta of Hak’tyl, a Jaffa world inhabited only by the female Jaffa of Moloc, in secret. Moloc had ordered all female Jaffa born on his worlds put to death at birth, but Ishta had organized a secret sect of Jaffa priestesses to help bring the female children to this unmonitored world.
At first, Teal’c and Ishta clashed over some differences in their approaches. Ishta was primarily focused on destroying Moloc, while Teal’c recognized all Goa’uld must fall for all Jaffa to be free. Ultimately, they personally killed Moloc together and Ishta joined forces with Teal’c and Bra’tac to bring about the end of Jaffa enslavement.
Finally, Teal’c decided on a decisive and risky final move. They would siege the temple of Dakara, a world held as sacred for the place the Goa’uld had first branched Jaffa bloodlines away from humans and made them biologically dependent oh symbiotes. This was revered as the place where the first Primt’a ceremony had occurred. Seizing this temple after decimating the System Lords’ ranks would be a decisive victory, if they survived.
The rebel Jaffa gathered on Dakara and with the help of SG-1 and the Tok’ra Selmak (whose host was Jacob Carter, Colonel Samantha Carter’s father), were able to use a weapon left there ages ago by the Ancients (Alterans) to win control of the temple once and for all, driving out the remaining efforts of Ba’al and Anubis, the last Goa’ulds with any real hope of crushing the rebellion.
