Just curious, why do you simp for Kill Code?

Warning: Passionate Fangirl Lore Rant Ahead!

Honestly? There are a lot of reasons.

Short Version:

I have always had a love of villains. Dark Romantasy has always been a favorite genre.

Kill Code is a supportive single father. As a single mother of two, I connect to him and his struggles and shortcomings with his children.

He’s a multi faceted, layered character with a dark and light side that is really fun to play with! I like murdery Kill Code as much as I like sweet reformed KC.

Kill Code had so much potential as both a villain and a ‘good guy’ there were a lot of missed opportunities, and those are a joy to explore! Plus a giant robot trying to date and find love while suppressing his dark code? That’s such a good flavor ripe for shenanigans.

And… the brain hyper fixates as it sees fit 😹

He’s been my muse and I have tons of ideas still to explore.

When Kill Code was first introduced as an actual character both the wickedness and the wonderful design by Inkypop really drew me to him. Previously Eclipse had been my fav, but then there suddenly was this ominous presence. A foe from within, an inner demon… so I started drawing him.

But there was more to that demon. He was a caring father, taking on the twins immediately and sharing “bloody fun” with them. He was supportive of his sons. Although Eclipse was always salty, Kill Code did get him out of the twins head to the relative safety of the lab computer. That wasn’t entirely altruistic, but he never hated Eclipse.

I started to ponder what his motivations were. What was driving this murderous code? He wasn’t all bad. There were more layers to him. This led to writing my fanfic.

When the show gave him a change of heart it wasn’t like the murder parts went away. The creator tried to reactivate it in a later episode (which they never explored sadly). It was sheer force of will that he altered himself to be better, to do better, to grow as a person. He was a pacifist by choice and by determination to be more than what he was programmed for.

A theme that has come up many times since then in the show.

While his redemption arc was rushed and most of his character development was off screen (as Lunar put it in a ranking episode), this also leaves much to the imagination and is like a sandbox to play in.

Later Kill Code helped Sun train his star powers and offered support where he could. Whether that’s atoning for his past self, honoring old Moon, or just the kindness he’d cultivated in his code he just wanted to help his family as best he could.

When they said Kill Code was on tinder, well that opened a flood gate of new potential shenanigans and scenarios to imagine. What’s not to love about a reformed murder robot awkwardly seeking love and companionship?

In his final moments, when Bloodmoon confronted him, Kill Code stayed true to his convictions. He knew he failed the twins, but he urged them to evolve. He wanted them to grow past their code and be more than they were programmed for. Kill Code knew they were on a path of self destruction and still wanted the best for them.

It really tugged my heart strings. I cried so much. As a parent I want the best for my kids. To see them flourish and find a bright future… it really hit home.

And don’t get me started on the hilarious April Fools Uno 😹

I love the original DCA’s, SAMS DCA’s, AU versions and all in between….

But this Kill Code gripped me in his claws and my brain hasn’t let go 😅 hyper fixations are wild. I’ve been around a lot of different fandoms but never have I latched onto a character so fervently.

And I love every moment. 💕

(I don’t think I’ve ever done/asked this and ignore it if u’r tired, maybe a tiny, stupid and unimportant drabble of the SEA fam being anxious about Eclipse working on researching a new SCP (aka stupid fish) while Eclipse is just like: ‘I can turn my audials off… in terms of what is known of this siren, I am theoretically more likely to survive than any of you since the control for my hearing is entirely mental system based and not an actual physical control-“ (little does he know siren songs don’t work on the SCP fam)

It has been reported before death that a very few D-class personnel have heard “phantom-like voices” behind the siren’s own song, it has been observed to have no difference in effect when this strange occurrence happens- thats not even bad that’s just slightly unnerving and morbidly interesting-

Atleast this thing disappears… to whatever deity that exists knows where- I take back the positive beginning, that should be highlighted information, because the fact they do not know where this massive and deadly sea-demon disappears to is quite terrifying in my opinion…

Soup is the most wonderful thin to ever exist. Dipping freshly baked homemade bread into fresh soup is the most amazing thing ever. I'm a soup truther

And I can try the drabble, cuz it's just pre-meeting Arcade, so I can't butcher the character, right?

"Ugh... You sure this is a good idea kid?"

Eclipse hums, not taking his optics off of the files before him. It's crucial he studies them thoroughly. A tiny mistake could mean death.

"A job's a job Moon. I can't back out of it once it starts"

"But it says here this thing can kill you just by singing. Which is, the fuck?"

Killcode rumbles somewhere above them, no doubt also peeking.

"Singing is a form of magic Moon if wielded by someone skilled enough. And sirens are such creatures"

Now that's got him curious

"Could you do it too?"

"Potentially. I have never tried"

He files that information away for later, going back to the papers in front of him. They can try and test that later.

"But honestly, you were so goddamned dramatic when we went on vacation! And now you're calm all of a sudden! I'm offended kid"

"I was fearing for my life, because you've all barged into my office and told me we were going on vacation, a terrifying sentence truly, and then you took me to an SCP. During vacation. Like screw me I guess for wanting to actually relax during vacation-"

He growls as giant fingers take hold of his topmost ray, pinchin it just enough to be annoying. It's a reproachful gesture his father doesn't do often. Which is good, because they'd never get along like this.

But it makes him look up for just a moment too, to take in everyone who're not immediately next to him.

Sun looks anxious, even more so than usual, twisting at his ribbons with an empty smile on his face. Eclipse is half convinced he's only here in body.

Bloodmoon's alternating between frowning and glaring daggers at the wall, more than likely because Bloody and Rusty are fighting in there. They're probably not agreeing on how to handle this situation, with one of them maybe planning murder. Or both of them are planning murder, but in different ways.

Solar Flare appears frozen, and he's honestly worried about it. Especially because its figid pose must be really uncomfortable, and he knows their shoulders have been hurting for the past couple of days. Probably because they pulled something.

Lunar himself is playing half-heartedly with his tail, looking at him with big sad eyes. Probably hoping to convince him to stay, to not go.

"Besides, I can turn off my audials. Something none of you are able to do. If I can't hear the siren, it can't hurt me."

"But how will the Eclipseman know it's nearby? To turn his hearing off?"

Alright, so unsurprisingly, it's Bloody who's acting more outright murderous. Nothing strange there, he had a feeling.

"I just won't turn it back on. Easy"

Killcode rumbles above him in displeasure, the nightmare clearly dissatisfied with this plan. Despite it being a method that has worked in the past"

"What?! Would you rather I get you in danger too? Or better yet, I call up the heads of the Murderous Foundation where they kill the employees too because I won't do what they want?"

No one seems any happier, but Eclipse doesn't really care. He's unhappy, so let them be unhappy as well.

"I either stay and die for sure, or I go, and maybe I'll be fine"

So either way, everyone stays unhappy. Great, fantastic. He really loves it here sometimes.

"We are going with you then"

The tone of Killcode says no one can argue, and no one dares to. Not when the unofficial patriarch of the family declares they'll go, something they probably all wanted to do anyway. Eclipse just sighs

Theories and/or scenarios for killcode? Im hungry for it 👀

HAJAHAJSHISHWJD IM!!!! SO GLAD YOU ASKED bc honestly I had a period of time where I put a lottt of thought into KC for the purpose of blending him into my fix-it au!!! I'm gunna treat these asks as one bc tbh I'm just bad at distinguishing the two BSJABDJD

Ahem ahem. adjusts tie. I'm gunna start off with lil one-off headcanons and then I'm gunna delve into deeper thoughts and analysis.

I think the reason KC talks with such a deep, slow drawl is due to the fact that he was never meant to be a person + he specifically formed through being pushed down over and over. Due to the fact he was never meant to speak or think or exist, his vocal processing is slower and harder to force out compared to others who were actually programmed with it.

I've never drawn KC like this bc I've never properly put it to paper, but I think KC's early lava theming was everything. I love to imagine early KC with a red-orange-yellow-black color scheme, but as he changes, he quite literally "cools down", his color palette turning into an obsidian purple-grey-black scheme instead.

Tbhhh I used to be an it/its KC truther but I realized he's probably not the type to own the "I'm an object, a force of nature" vibe. I moved my it/its tsams truthing to Solar Flare <3

Okay I'm gunna go theory/analysis mode so I'm gunna put the rest under a cut bc I know it's gunna get long LOL

Ahem. Ahem. I have broken down how the kill code manifests in all the characters who have it and what that means for them.

I'm, of course, going to focus on KC! However, it's important going forward to note the 3 major ways I've noted the kill code manifests: through the need for death, the need for injury, and the need for disorder. There is more nuance, but that's how I've mostly boiled it down! Then, beyond that, these urges can either be tamed, quelled, or ignored.

KC is an example of the need for disorder, but not death or injury! He's said before that he doesn't desire the bloodshed, merely "the thrill." (Sources here and here) This also applies to why he treats people like pawns rather than people! He manipulates them to get the thrill of control, of being intimidating enough to make people listen rather than fight back.

However, notably, KC is also an example of someone with ignorable code urges. So ignorable, in fact, that he just... stops. He literally just decides to stop being evil! Not even Moon could do that, who is the only other person with ignorable urges. Moon could ignore them, yes, but it took monumental amounts of effort and he was very prone to caving if something went slightly wrong.

(I'm... not including Eclipse in this because he is a thorn in my side the moment he comes into the picture with the kill code. He's dubious as fuck and if I touch on that, this post won't be about KC anymore 😭)

This detail has always deeply fascinated me because... why? Why is it that those derived from him can be so powerless to the code, while he himself was able to walk away so easily? Now admittedly I never actually came up with a fully-baked reason when I first came up with all this, however! These are my impromptu theories from least to most plausible:

Because so many people stemmed from him, it sort of "chipped away" at certain parts of the code that left him as a technically incomplete version of the code. [Iffy bc isn't part of the kill code that it would "regrow" when taken apart?]

Because he is the kill code, rather than someone living with it. It could potentially be that being the direct source has a different effect than having it woven into you. [Maybe, but then it'd beg the question of why "direct source" vs "added-in" makes such a difference. Could potentially explain why Eclipse is also not as violent bc he's also directly the code split off?]

Because his ass didn't change!!! That this was another facet of his manipulation craving!!! We never saw him after his redemption so do we really know if he wasn't doing kind things with the intend to get more praise, more power, more respect? His intent matters still, just because he was feeding the poor doesn't mean he wasn't smug that so many humans were dependent on him. [This is honestly what I lean for, I just didn't know how to put it into words until now LMAO]

When I used to subscribe to more dadcode headcanons, I used to wonder of he'd endure shitty humans whispering behind his back about how scary he looks, how it's suspicious, but they wouldn't actually know anything. He'd just feel scared because they're skirting too close to the truth.

Now though? I think he'd find that to be the perfect opportunity to lean into their fear, to do something right then and there that'll make them shriek and flinch back. Like. I genuinely don't know why he'd be able to just, flip on a dime! I think he worked a soup kitchen to have people to control and be respected. I think he made friends so he could have a disposal of people to do what he wants. I think he'd get a thrill out of all the humans around him being intimidated by his presence—his red eyes, his claws, his toothy smile.

That idea is also a very big basis of KC in my previously mentioned fix-it au!! Because when he reunites with Bloodmoon, it's not a sweet father-son moment. KC, subconsciously, still views Bloodmoon as the perfect and most loyal tool! So, he immediately falls back into promises of comfort and glory through telling them "stop eating. look at me, i've ignored my code this long and been fine, no? your hunger will go away eventually. the pain will go away. stop eating."

I just. augrhegrhegr. I honestly adore KC's potential he's so fascinating to me. what's wrong with him!!!!!!

Bloodmoon gets a pat on the head the comic. Aka When Bloodmoon joins the cast! We get a lil taste of when Bloodmoon arrived to the daycare. Also some delightful character interactions as well. Gosh darn these beans are starved for affection. I will admit that and they never will. But hmn yes... Bloodmoon wasn't fully on board despite how much he and KC do interact. Also just staring at KC. I have a lot of thoughts on this AU I cant get all in comics. Can you imagine I did all this for one panel ALSO... a little announce under the cut here for stickers.

Love the fact that the killcode seems to be so easily influenced by kindness, more often than not

KC was evil. Then Glamrock Freddy was nice to him, and he started changing

Eclipse was evil, then Earth started being nice to him, and he changed, too

Solar, who'd also be partially made from his Moon's killcode, could've been feral and an absolute menace, but his Sun showed him kindness and acceptance, and he mellowed out

TEAPS Moon's killcode only spikes when he gets mad or someone mistreats him and Sun. If people are nice to both of them though, he's completely fine

The only person who had at least a portion of the killcode in them and stayed evil was probably Bloodmoon. Bloodmoon had multiple chances to change, but he chose not to, even after Sun tried to extend the figurative olive branch

We don't know what the story behind FFNAF Eclipse/Clipsie is yet, so I can't say anything regarding her, aside from that whatever happened post accidental creation/awakening, led to her considering Sunny and Moonie as her sisters

Nexus,,, I can't speak for him either, since he doesn't have a killcode. When Moon and KC split, KC physically left and went into another body, left no traces of himself or his code behind

I think Ruin mentioned having a killcode at one point, but I'm not sure. I'd have to do a bunch of digging to find out, but that'd take an ungodly long time

So apparently, if you wanna tame befriend someone who has a killcode in them, the best way to do that would simply be repeated, prolonged exposure to people who will be kind and patient with them

Had these two cooking up for a while now but! I am happy to present KC and Earth for the mer au! :D

They are background characters, a pair of giant mers who travel together. KC is a man-eater with humans being his preferred food and Earth is a mer with powerful healing (and hypnotic) abilities who is highly sought after by poachers.

They first met when KC noticed how much this green and blue mer attracted humans to her general location and began following her around. Earth would eventually notice and not wanting KC to attack humans she would start staying very close by his side to ensure he doesn't attack anyone. But with KC being a well known man-eater who has sunk many boats, his presence would end up keeping most poachers away from Earth.

The two would become friends and form a pod together. However they are not mates nor do they have any interest in each other in that way. They'd eventually have some occasional interactions with Eclipse and Ruin as they would start living in the ocean close to the coastal town they live in. (I do have a oneshot planned for this that i hope to finish one day soon :'D)

Smother the Sun

My first fan art for the Scientist Eclipse Adventures au/fanfic by @theallianceofcelestials

Inspired by your recent chapter (as of when I posted this)

I was going to finish this earlier, but some things came up.

The idea for this is that the Moon(s) are coving the Sun. Because Eclipse is technically a Sun. So Eclipse right now, is being Eclipsed by his two cats family members.

(I was in a trance doing this so I finished it in like an hour yesterday👌❗// I had like two other projects I started the same day but never finished, too... Lets ignore that—)

SCRIPT:

—Takes place in "Sun Is Forced To Make A DEADLY CHOICE!!".

—What caused major change: Dark Sun doesnt intervene.

—Everything is mostly the same. Mostly on how it played out.

—When Nexus says: "And that is why Im choosing to kill your brother right now!", he looks over at Moon rather than looking at Sun.

—Moon would rush to Sun, screaming: "SUNNY!", but he wouldnt make it. (Bonus: Sun would try reach out to Moon, whispering: "Moony?..")

—Moon cradles Sun's limp body. He takes Sun's bells (on their wrists), and stuffs them in his pocket. By this point, hes already made a decision: he was going to kill again—for Sun, he knows Killcode would be proud.

—Moon is unable to hear anything the entire time as a ringing noise is stuck in his head, but his body reacts on instinct; hes done this and he can do it again. He doesnt know who is pulling him away, but he knows the self-proclaimed "Dark Star God" was dead and thats all that matters.

—Solar snaps Moon out of it as he fixes Moon in his lab.

—They talk and Moon, realizing that he will never get Sun back, starts to sob.

BONUS:

—Sun cannot be returned as Nexus made sure to get rid of all his backups /if he even has any/.)

—Moon will not make nor see someone else as a replacement for Sun. Sun was his brother; he'd rather kill again than get someone as a replacement.)

Is this all my pent up rage and stress or something because I just finished my exams yesterday and this is the first finished digital art piece I did....

This was loosely inspired by my old and first fanon SAMS thumbnail and episode titled: "What if NEXUS KILLED SUN?! in VRChat" all the way back in Dec. 16, 2024 (same thing happened there, but now its more dramatic)
