It saw how protective Phil was. How calculated and careful he was, the precautions he would take, the paranoia he had, how dedicated he was to keeping his eggs alive.
Surely, this meant that Philza would hesitate. That he would see his children, see their faces, and lower his sword. That he would let them wreck havoc because he couldn’t bare to see them die
But no, this is Philza Minecraft. This is the Angel of Death. This is the man who conquered the world. A man who keeps his heart close to his chest but knows who his friends are
A man who would do anything to protect his family and friends
And the code dares, dares, to impersonate his kids. To put on their skin and their faces and smile and wave and put on a grand performance. The code dares to mock him. To gloat. To say “I look like your kids, you wouldn’t dare harm your kids, would you?”
But it’s because the code looks like them that Phil attacks. If it just showed up as the code monster, he’d still attack. But it would be more calculated, more careful. He’d ask why the code was here, what it wanted, he’d wonder what it’s angle was
But it’s impersonating his kids, his kids, and Phil can’t hold himself back. The code signed it’s own death warrant. “This is for impersonating my f-ing son.” Phil couldn’t bare to stand the mockery of his children
It was the worst thing the code could have done. It thought it knew Philza. It thought it was dealing with a paranoid father. But it isn’t. It’s dealing with a father who’s a warrior, an emperor, a protector. And daring to challenge him is the last mistake the code will ever make
Okay I’m sorry but the SHEER ANGST AND WHAT-IFS of Brocedes in that interview
The way Nico stuttered in that interview when he didn’t with Max and George. The way he bailed out of saying “It’s good to see you” and said “it’s good to see the positivity” until the end of the interview where he finally said it because Lewis was going and it was socially more acceptable
The way Lewis kept on self-soothing by rubbing his ear and scratching his head and spent over half the interview looking at the crowds and calmed down a little only when he realised Nico wasn’t going to be chaotic
And it wasn’t until Nico said “You’re still flat out motivated, right?” that Lewis looked him full in the face and smiled because that wasn’t a Sky news presenter asking a P2 driver a question. That was Nico Rosberg telling Lewis Hamilton the only way he knew how that Nico knows Lewis is still a champion and will still push no matter the dominance of the Red Bulls. That was Nico Rosberg saying I knew you would be here, Lewis. I know you’ll fight back.
Nico‘s been pushing Lewis all weekend even without seeing him; he pushed him in FP3 when Lewis didn’t come out on the inters and tried to get Merc’s communications director to make Lewis practice damp laps; he kept repeating that Lewis has this, that Lewis is an amazing driver. He asked Toto to his face why Mercedes hasn’t re-signed Lewis yet.
Lewis always said Nico’s the one who pushed him the most since they were kids. We can see it’s still true here.
Nico has been, and always will be, the one who pushes Lewis towards his next championship. Even if they aren’t friends anymore, even if all he can do to express his support is to say You’ll keep pushing. You’ll always keep pushing.
