Screeeaming cryyying throwing UP. The captain sounds like he's been crying, you're breaking my heart here. Today we have confirmed what everyone's been theorizing about, that the First Mate is Romanian, and that is why he has been hostile thus far.

I am once again thrilled to hear Mr. Swales, he is the highlight of my whole day. AND WOW!! I can finally understand all of what he's saying and not just the last bit. Because it's not impossible to parse like Bram's shitty writing style would have you convinced, it's just a different fucking dialect, sir. Fuck you Bram, Fuck you Bram, I am spitting on your grave.

Minaaaaa noooo don't make me CRY WHEN SWALES JUST CHEERED ME UP!! It definitely comes across that she is leaning into her journaling more now (hence the dedication to writing all of Swales' speech verbatim [or as verbatim as Bram's classism will allow]) as a means of distracting herself from her worry and loneliness. The moment she's alone with just Lucy, there's nothing morbid to distract her, only sweet Lucy and her excitement, and it reminds Mina too much of her own excitement.
