How to achieve Equality? How to work for Peace?
Recently I met again with a dear friend I had not long seen, also due to the pandemic situation.
When I first got to know him he was still employed in an international and highly respected Swiss corporation as an engineer. And he was brilliant. So much so, that the somewhat more senior persons in his department blocked him in his professional development. Where was equality?
He then took a very bold decision, decided to build his own company and to develop the solution he had so long dreamt to bring to life with his employer.
Today, his organization employs more than 100 persons worldwide, counts customers on all continents and is highly profitable.
Defining Equality as a value and a target to be achieved within a firm is a starting point only. Equality must be lived by each team member in the Heart.
Equality is only reached when both female and male principles are equal in a person’s Heart and Body. And this path starts with the Self. Knowing Oneself. Knowing who we are truly are as Human Being. Knowing what it actually means to be a Human Being. Knowing where we come from. Knowing our Purpose and Be our Purpose. For the good of Oneself, our Community and Earth.
The prerequisite for Peace is Equality. Without Equality, no Peace. Each one of us can contribute to both. NOW.
This knowledge is revealed through experiencing, learning with our Body and Intuitive Mind. This is what we teach at Athena InsideOut Education.

Why is the Marpu Foundation a leader in CSR excellence?
Marpu Foundation, one of India’s largest volunteer organizations is revolutionizing sustainable change in 39 locations and 15 states. With more than 80,261 volunteers and 10,245,120+ beneficiaries, the Marpu Foundation promotes volunteerism, ecological mindfulness, and sustainable development. The Marpu Foundation has been working continuously towards environmental sustainability, economic development, social development, and partnerships for the goal.
In 2013, India became the first country to mandate Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) with the introduction of Section 135 of the Companies Act. This legislation requires companies meeting any of the following financial criteria: a net worth of INR 500 crore or more, a turnover of INR 1,000 crore or more, or a net profit of INR 5 crore or more to allocate at least 2% of their average net profits from the past three years towards CSR activities. The Marpu Foundation is carving its way as a leader in accomplishing CSR Programs and Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs). Let's explore in depth to gain a better understanding of their programs:
1. Prioritizing gender equality (SDG5)
According to the International Labour Organization, the global labor force participation rate stands at just under 47% for women and 72% for men. This represents a gap of 25 percentage points, with some regions experiencing disparities exceeding 50 percentage points. Recognizing the gravity of bridging this gap, the Marpu Foundation is at the forefront of promoting gender equality through targeted initiatives. The Foundation is leading with excellence in gender equality by facilitating programs for women’s education, health, and entrepreneurship. By addressing key barriers to women's participation in the workforce, the Marpu Foundation is driving meaningful change and fostering a more inclusive and equitable society.
2. Understanding the significance of mental health and well-being (SDG3)
According to the Lancet Medical Journal's Global Burden of Disease Study, India ranks 145th out of 195 countries. However, the country's healthcare access and quality index has seen significant progress in recent years, increasing from 44.8 out of 100 in 2015 to 67.3 in 2020. The Marpu Foundation is committed to enhancing the well-being of underprivileged communities through its healthcare initiatives. The foundation organizes health camps, distributes essential medicines, and promotes various health awareness programs. Additionally, its Mobile Health Clinics operate with high mobility, regularly visiting underserved areas to provide free medical check-ups and treatments, ensuring healthcare access for those in need.
3. Affordable, accessible, and sustainable energy for all (SDG7)
Today, over 97% of Indian households have access to electricity, a significant rise from just 56% in 2000. The Marpu Foundation has played a pivotal role in promoting the adoption of solar energy by distributing and installing solar panels in underserved communities. The Foundation has also conducted successful workshops and awareness campaigns to highlight the importance of clean energy and its positive impact on both health and the environment. It has also worked to educate communities on energy conservation practices and the advantages of transitioning to renewable energy sources.
4. Eradication of poverty (SDG1)
According to a State Bank of India (SBI) report published in January 2025, India's poverty rate stood at 4.86% in rural areas and 4.09% in urban areas during the fiscal year 2024. This marks a significant decline from 2011-12 when poverty rates were 25.7% in rural areas and 13.7% in urban areas. The Marpu Foundation remains dedicated to eradicating poverty through sustainable and impactful initiatives that drive meaningful change. Its efforts include establishing and supporting schools, scholarships, and literacy programs to provide quality education for children from marginalized communities. The foundation also offers vocational training in trades such as tailoring, handicrafts, agriculture, and entrepreneurship, equipping individuals with skills for financial independence. Additionally, it organizes free health camps, operates mobile health clinics, and distributes essential medicines to improve healthcare access for impoverished communities. Furthermore, the foundation empowers women by providing skills training, financial literacy programs, and resources to help them start businesses or secure stable employment.
5. Inclusion of accessible justice and peace for everyone(SDG16)
According to the latest SDG India Index India ranked 109th globally in the 2024 Sustainable Development Report, indicating moderate progress on this goal. The Marpu Foundation is dedicated to raising awareness about human rights, legal rights, and social justice through community outreach programs. It has been conducting campaigns against social issues such as domestic violence, child labor, and discrimination. It has successfully collaborated with local governments and institutions to implement policies that foster good governance and ethical leadership. These initiatives have earned the Marpu Foundation numerous accolades and awards which is commendable. The foundation has successfully conducted workshops and training sessions on legal literacy, constitutional rights, and democratic participation.

The Marpu Foundation stands as a beam of sustainable development and social change, accomplishing initiatives that address some of the crucial global challenges. Through its determination and commitment to gender equality, healthcare access, clean energy, poverty eradication, and justice for all, the foundation continues to revolutionize sustainable development across India.
The Marpu Foundation has been prioritizing gender equality (SDG5) by empowering women through education, healthcare, and entrepreneurship programs, breaking traditional barriers and facilitating inclusivity. Its focus on health and well-being (SDG3) ensures access to generic medical care, with mobile health clinics and free health camps reaching low-income communities. The foundation’s dedication to clean and affordable energy (SDG7) is evident in its advocacy for solar energy adoption, sustainability awareness campaigns, and community education on energy conservation.
In the fight against poverty (SDG1), the Marpu Foundation’s holistic approach includes educational initiatives and skill development programs that equip individuals with the means to achieve financial independence. Moreover, by promoting peace, justice, and strong institutions (SDG16), the foundation facilitates human rights advocacy, legal literacy, and ethical governance, fostering a more just and equitable society.
As India progresses towards achieving its Sustainable Development Goals, the Marpu Foundation remains at the forefront, setting an example for volunteer-driven social transformation. Its impactful programs, strategic collaborations, and accessible interventions continue to encourage communities, demonstrating that collective action and dedication can pave the way for a more inclusive, sustainable, and just future.

Today on #foodforthought I’d like to serve this sketch called #Machining.
Machine (def): an apparatus using mechanical power and having several parts, each with a definite function and together performing a particular task. - Oxford
The ‘#system’ or the ‘#machine’, may sometimes have a closed definition determined by a chosen few for their personal convenience to represent color, gender, race, religion, caste, government, institution, company, community, skill, an ecosystem, environment, universe, etc. Diving in deep into any one of these, we could easily forget we’re all part of a greater ‘machine’ and have our own respective function. Just the way we are, without any additional external machining.
Few questions to introspect on:
What machine(s) am I actively and passively a part of?
What is this ‘Development Machine’?
Do I want to continue being a part of the particular machine? Do I have a choice?
Does failing at something define our ‘destiny’? Does succeeding change our destiny?
Is being scrap really that bad?
Considering this sketch is about education, equality, work, and a machine, apart from other things. I’d like to raise awareness on the following SDGs with links shared below.

Enhancing CSR Impact through Collaboration with MARPU Foundation
What’s to Read:
Integration of CSR Goals with respect to corporate giants SDGs.
How MARPU impacts these strategies?
Partnering with MARPU.
MARPU’s SDG Initiatives.
Integration of CSR Goals with respect to corporate giants SDGs:
In today’s world, the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has become more crucial than ever. Companies worldwide are acknowledging their role in promoting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and realizing that their responsibilities extend beyond just shareholders to encompass communities and the environment. Integrating CSR initiatives into business operations can create shared value, benefiting society. However, the true impact of CSR can only be unraveled via strategic partnerships with organizations that bear the passion and resources toward leading change in a sustainable way.
How MARPU impacts these strategies?
The SDGs provide a universal framework through which businesses can structure their CSR strategies. But setting specific targets also helps big corporations make a dent in broader, global efforts while enhancing their reputation and social impact. MARPU Foundation, with its work by way of provisioning clean water in rural communities, manifests this best. Their initiatives are detailed into SDG 6: ensuring clean water and sanitation.
In today’s digitally driven society, the use of new technologies can develop volunteering activities to their fullest potential in both efficiency and reach. Technology also enables the broadening of the volunteer base through remote volunteering by opening opportunities for people to participate regardless of where they may be located, thus aiding companies in engaging diverse individuals.
Therefore, overlaps between the values and goals of the corporation and the NGO are a must for the strategic partnerships to work. A notable example is the collaboration between a tech giant and the MARPU Foundation to promote digital literacy.
One of the major attributes the MARPU Foundation employs in establishing the impact of its programs is quantitative and qualitative measurement of data. Likewise, corporations must adopt strong analytics to capture direct and indirect results for their CSR interventions.
Partnering with MARPU:
CSR “CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY”:
Unleash Positive Change: Adopt a Project
Powerful Impact with Corporate Donations
EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT:
Volunteerism: A New Chapter in Employee Engagement
Payroll Giving: Empowerment through Generosity
BRAND DEVELOPMENT:
Event Sponsorships: Merge Visibility with Impact
Donation Boxes: Simple Giving, Significant Impact
Cause-Related Marketing: Where Business Meets Compassion
MARPU’s SDG Initiatives:
The MARPU Foundation adheres to their work theme of supporting the SDGs:
– Environmental Sustainability:
1. SDG6(Clean Water and Sanitation)
2. SDG7(Affordable and Clean Energy)
3. SDG11(Sustainable Cities and Communities)
4. SDG12(Responsible Consumption and Production)
5. SDG13(Climate Action)
6. SDG14 &SDG15(Life below Water & Life on Land)
– Economic Development:
1. SDG1 & SDG2(NO Poverty & Zero Hunger)
2. SDG8(Decent Work and Economic Growth)
3. SDG9(Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure)
4. SDG10(Reduced Inequalities)
– Social Development:
1. SDG3(Good Health and Well-being)
2. SDG4(Quality Education)
3. SDG5 (Gender Equality)
– Partnership for Goals:
1. SDG17

I had a dream… Awareness-based Leadership
Do you remember about the dreams you had as a child?
Is one of them, or some of them, still vivid in your memory?
If yes, this dream is much more than “a simple dream”. It is your North star, a vision for your life, an energy rooted in the core essence of your being. Which will unfold with time and shape your life path.
Today I have decades of experience as a finance and people management executive, either in international groups, or in SME’s and startups. And all the while I was exercising this profession, with enthusiasm, dedication and satisfaction, it is actually my passion for the people and their potential that provided me with the greatest moments of joy and fulfilment.
It took me a long while to understand that the dream I had when I was ten was this energy acting: at school we had been asked to write an essay titled “What would you do, had you all freedom and means to achieve what you wish for?”. In short this is what I wrote: Each time I see, meet a person suffering I would like to be able to press a button and cure that person.
Today I am still a business woman, and also an acknowledged healer and wisdom keeper. Recognized as such by wisdom keepers of traditions originating from New Zealand, Mongolia as well as South & North America – even before a word between us was exchanged.
Awareness-based self-leadership – this is how the activity of a healer can also be described. It starts with a quiet mind: erratic thoughts are gone and one feels at peace. And then purified thoughts, originating from a “crystal mind” emerge, directly coming from the field of intelligence surrounding us all, the “one mind” – or quantum field. This same process “Quiet Mind” to “Crystal Mind” to “One Mind” is at the core of awareness-based leadership. This is what we teach at Athena InsideOut Education. It is ancient wisdom and knowledge remembered, reactivated in each of our cells: www.athena-ioe.com.

World AIDS Day
Theme for 2023 : “Let communities lead”.
Communities affected by HIV, including key population networks and youth leaders, have been and continue to be pivotal in driving progress within the HIV response.
Their roles encompass crucial facets such as offering vital prevention, testing, and treatment support services, fostering trust, devising innovative solutions, promoting overall health, overseeing policy implementation, and holding service providers accountable.
Empowering communities to take the lead offers a pathway to potentially eradicating AIDS globally. This year’s World AIDS Day theme, “Let communities lead”, and much more than a celebration of community achievements; it’s a call to action.
It urges the facilitation and support of communities in their leadership roles within the HIV response.
Over 30 million people are living with HIV/AIDS, with over 2 million people infected each year. It remains the leading cause of death worldwide.
World AIDS Day is a key opportunity to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS, commemorate those who have lost their lives, and celebrate victories such as increased access to treatment and prevention services.
Events are held to help eradicate the stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS, raise awareness of the connection between HIV and AIDS, and to raise funds for prophylaxis that can prevent mother-to-child transmission.
