LEAGUE OF LEGENDS HEADCANONS #1
Nilah can walk on water.
Gragas is incredibly flexible. Man can reach behind his back and do some other crazy yoga poses.
Jinx hates Kayle on premises of: "Bitch! You've been aluve for fuck knows how long and still haven't reached out to your sis!"
Kayle: "The pot calling the kettle black..."
Jinx: "At least I'm doing an effort. A whole lot mote than you ever did."
Jinx makes some super strong weed brownies. Thoses things should have a biohazard label. Hwei ate on by accident, man's almost went into coma.
First time Ekko and Jinx went to Shurima, Jinx pointed at an aardwolf and said: "Look, it's you."
Sett is a crazy good cook. If things went down differently he could've a restaurant chef.
Briar and Sylas have night terrors about prison cells. They find bond in shared trauma.
Ezreal is a bi disaster. The boy falls in love everyother week and moves on to somebody else just as fast. His crush on Lux at first was more because she is pretty, now Ez just wants to be friends.
Kayn has a habit of sleeping standing up. Usually using Rhaast a support.
Rell has parental and anger issues and it shows. A co-parental support program has built between Senna and Lucian-Ornn-Mordekaiser for her.
Senna is trying to act a motherly figure for Rell, not know how much traume she brings up by doing so. Lucian is mostly just there.
Ornn is the quite and supportive uncle figure that appreciates her tallents and help around the forge.
Mordekaiser is the bad influence uncle who lets Rell do whatever she wants.
Gangplank is definetly tha type of guy who'll square up with whoever is currently dating his ex.
The amount of fights he started with Braum was enough for everyone to plan schedules where they won't see eachother.

Arrival in Vallaki
January 20, Y357 Game Session 6/14/2024
Tumblr media
After a grueling march through the foggy and frigid slopes of the Old Svalich Road, the party arrives at the massive gates of Vallaki. The stone gates, topped by gleaming copper onion domes, evoke the Terg occupation. Two sentries warn about the use of arms in the city–martial force is punishable by death.
As night falls, they walk their horses through the main avenue, where dozens of businesses line the road. The road itself is a wonder, expertly paved with square-cut stone cobbles. The party is dazzled by the number of stores selling everything from toys and esoteric books to antiques. They pass tailor shops, alchemists, fortune tellers, fish markets, leatherworkers, apothecaries, and more.
Coming from a backwater town, Vallaki feels larger than life–the big city they didn't even know existed.
The Blue Water Inn
After asking for directions, they arrive at the largest and most prosperous inn in Vallaki, the Blue Water Inn. They stable their horses and meet the two young stablehands, Bray and Braum, who welcome them and recommend they order the Hunter's Feast platter.
Tumblr media
As the PCs approach the Blue Water Inn, they see a sturdy, two-story building made of dark, weathered wood. The roof is steeply pitched, and a stone chimney sends thin wisps of smoke into the evening sky. A large sign hangs above the entrance, creaking slightly in the wind, depicting a blue waterfall cascading into a tranquil pool. The sound of laughter and clinking glasses drifts from inside, promising warmth and refuge from the bleak streets of Vallaki.
Upon entering, the party is greeted by the cozy, inviting atmosphere of the inn. The common room is spacious, with a high ceiling supported by stone arches above which are strong wooden beams. The air is filled with the comforting scents of roasted meat, fresh bread, and the faint aroma of brewing ale. The walls are adorned with hunting trophies, local artwork, and a large, detailed map of Barovia with Vallaki at its center.
A large stone fireplace dominates one wall, its roaring fire casting flickering shadows and a golden glow across the room. Comfortable chairs and benches are arranged around the hearth, where patrons can relax and warm themselves.
Tumblr media
The bar is a long, polished wooden counter with an array of mismatched stools. Behind it stands Danika Martikov, a friendly and efficient woman with a ready smile. Shelves behind her are lined with bottles of wine, ale, and various spirits, including the locally renowned Red Dragon Crush and Purple Grapemash No. 3.
The room is filled with sturdy wooden tables and chairs, arranged to accommodate both large groups and solitary travelers. Each table has a small oil lamp, adding to the warm ambiance. The sound of dice rolling and quiet conversation fills the air as patrons enjoy their meals and drinks.
A wooden staircase in one corner leads up to the guest rooms on the second floor. The stairs creak softly with each step, adding to the inn's rustic charm.
The Blue Water Inn is a hub of social activity in Vallaki. It's a place where locals gather to share news, travelers find respite, and adventurers can hear the latest rumors. The inn offers a stark contrast to the gloom outside, making it a perfect spot for the party to rest, gather information, and perhaps find new allies in their struggle against the dark forces that rule over the land.
Val orders the Roasted Pork with Apples and allows Danika to recommend a good wine–Bran Castle Blanc, which he dislikes. Percival and Andrei share the large Hunter's feast.
Bran Castle Blanc Wine: Bran Castle Blanc is an elegant and intriguing white wine with a pale straw color and glints of green, reminiscent of misty mornings. The nose is delicate yet complex, offering aromas of white peaches, green apples, and hints of jasmine. On the palate, it unfolds layers of citrus fruits, crisp pear, and a subtle herbal nuance framed by lively acidity and a mineral-driven finish.
The bard Rictavio performs this evening, telling stories through songs and spoken poems. When Val tosses a sizeable tip into his hat, he is treated to a private performance. The bard plays a familiar song about the light of the Morninglord, and Val joins in–adding a fine harmony to the music. Rictavio congratulates his fine voice, takes a bow, and introduces the next act–the alluring Ireena Kolyana.
Ireena Kolyana, The Bellydancer
The party's interest is piqued when a figure cloaked in red from head to toe emerges alongside a man carrying a wooden box. The musician sits on the box and begins to tap a heart-quickening rhythm. The show begins when Ireena flicks the red robes with a graceful swirl.
Tumblr media
Belly Dancer Ireena is a vision of exotic beauty and grace. With flowing, dark locks cascading down her back and expressive dark eyes that sparkle like polished onyx, she possesses an allure that is both enchanting and mysterious.
Her voluptuous figure moves effortlessly, each movement of her hips and arms telling a story of ancient rhythms and seductive charm. Adorned in vibrant silks and shimmering sequins that catch the light, her attire accentuates every hip twist and shimmy.
Ireena's smile is warm and inviting, drawing admirers into her world of swirling colors and hypnotic melodies. Her performance ends in a swirl of red silks. Val's generous tip wins him a wink from the Vistani performer.
But alas, there is no encore, much to the pleasure of Brother Andrei, who wholeheartedly disapproves of such skimpy attire.
After a whiskey nightcap, the night ends, and the party settles in the inn's spare room.
The following morning, they sleep in late. After breakfast they go to the Church.
The Holy Light: Cathedral of the Morninglord
The Holy Light, Vallaki’s Cathedral of the Morninglord, stands as a beacon of hope and faith. This imposing edifice crafted from dark, weathered stone, is dominated by soaring spires and pointed arches. The grand entrance, adorned with intricate carvings of dawn and rebirth scenes, leads into a vast nave with a high, vaulted ceiling supported by slender, ribbed columns. Stained glass windows, framed by ornate stone tracery, line the walls, depicting various saints and legends associated with the Morninglord. The cathedral’s interior has exquisite mosaics featuring intricate geometric patterns and floral designs. The grand marble altar, illuminated by a massive stained glass window of the Morninglord, stands as the focal point.
Smaller chapels along the nave, dedicated to different saints, offer spaces for personal reflection, while the rear of the cathedral houses a grand pipe organ. Father Gregor Vasilka presides over the Holy Light and welcomes the party with a blessing.
The party stays for the noon sermon, which focuses on inclusion, acceptance, and, most of all, love.
Tumblr media
After services, the party heads to some shops to sell some of their wares. Percival does business at Tincturi Apothecary, where he deals with Ruxandra Voinea to sell some potions. He uses the money to pay part of his debt to Val.
After some inquiries in town, they learn that there is indeed a famous waterfall that flows over a cave in the woods. The waterfall's hiking trail is marked by a wooden sign and is within an hour's walk from the city's gates. The party heads there during the day to learn the way for the following night's rendezvous–a good decision considering how deep in the woods the trail goes.
Tumblr media
Meeting at the Grotto
The following night, as the full moon crests, the party sets out after midnight and travels to the grotto. The night is bitterly cold, foggy, and filled with the distant howl of wolves. They reach the cave and wait for the appointed hour beneath the frigid waterfall. When they least expect it, a black-clad figure with raven feathers pinned on his armor emerges from the shadows and bids them follow.
The group does so quietly, trudging away from the path and up steep snow-covered cliffs. They arrive at the ruined foundations of a watch tower, where the mysterious figure opens a trapdoor leading down into the tunnels.
The entrance is hidden beneath a layer of moss and leaves, making it nearly invisible to the untrained eye.
The tunnels are narrow and winding, with walls made of rough-hewn stone. Wooden supports keep the ceiling from collapsing, though some areas show signs of disrepair. The air is damp and musty, with the faint scent of earth and decay. The sound of dripping water echoes through the passages, adding to the eerie atmosphere.
Occasionally, the adventurers navigate through tight squeezes and low ceilings.
After a tense, hour-long journey through the tunnels, the adventurers arrive at a reinforced wooden door banded with iron. A coded knock and a specific phrase is required to gain entry, ensuring the security of those within.
The adventurers step into a cavernous underground space supported by stone arches and thick pillars. The floor is uneven, covered in a mix of dirt and loose stones. Around the perimeter, various crates and barrels are stacked. The scent of old wood and preserved food fills the air.
In the center of the room, a large, rough-hewn table serves as a meeting place. Several chairs are arranged around it, and maps of Barovia, marked with notes and symbols, are spread out on its surface.
Elizabetta Pirroska stands at the head of the table, a commanding presence in her shining armor. Her eyes are sharp and determined, reflecting her unwavering commitment to the cause.
The other members of the Dawnslayers and the Keepers of the Black Feather are gathered around a mix of warriors, clerics, and spies. They are a somber but resolute group, each bearing the marks of their struggles against Strahd's forces.
There, in absolute secrecy, Elizabeta welcomes the party to the Dawnslayers and their cause. (See Elizabeta's Welcome).
After the quest is given and allies gained, the party heads back to Vallaki the way they came.
Traveling with the party are three henchmen.
Cedric, Paladin of the Morninglord
Cedric is Percival's younger cousin, a paladin in training, and will serve as a squire for the party.
Tumblr media
Tang, Keeper of the Black Feather
Tang is a scruffy teen wearing black leather armor who seems to have had a rough upbringing.
Tumblr media
Gray, Keeper of the Black Feather
Gray, their gray elven escort is a Keeper of the Black Feather. He is older and weathered, with a black feather tattoo on his wrist.

5e Braum, the Heart of the Freljord build (League of Legends)
Tumblr media
(Artwork by Joshua “HUGEnFAST” Brian Smith. Made for Riot Games.)
Mother always said: STAND BEHIND BRAUM.
Braum is a character who was rather inevitable. He’s iconic in his own right as he’s probably the ultimate shield-baring team defender, which is an obvious fantasy people would want in D&D. (Which is why we have no tower shields in 5e.) With K/DA done I now have to do the Ruined King crew. But I’m more than happy to make a build for another Support who I’m never upset to have on my team. Even if he’s not the strongest right now you can always count on Braum!
GOALS
My shield is my sword - Braum is a big bulky lad with an even bigger and bulkier shield. We’ll need to take any blow that comes our way.
Stand behind Braum! - We’ll need to be able to protect our allies near or far, standing in front of danger and jumping to their aid.
Troublemaker toss is best game - Braum can do more than just punch and slam, with a bit of Freljordian magic to split the earth beneath his foes!
RACE
Braum is a human and hey: wouldn’t it be funny if there was a race of humans with innate Iceborn magic to protect their allies? Mark of Sentinel Humans get ability score improvements that don’t really help us... good thing Tasha’s lets us instead get a +2 to Charisma and a +1 to Strength, for the might of Winter and the warmth of the Hearth. You gain proficiency in a language of your choice: I personally opted for Primordial to speak with any icy beings of the north.
With the Mark of Sentinel you have Sentinel’s Intuition to add a d4 to Insight and Perception checks. You also have a Guardian’s Shield to cast Shield on yourself once per Long Rest, and are a Vigilant Guardian who can swap places with a nearby creature to take the damage instead of them! “It is easy, see?”
If Dragonmarks aren’t allowed: Variant Human works fine. Increase your Charisma and Strength by 1 and grab the Shield Master feat early. Grab Insight proficiency too or something idk.
ABILITY SCORES
15; STRENGTH - To lift up Ornn’s workshop door you need a lot of upper body strength.
14; CHARISMA - To be the heart of the Freljord you need heart to provide warmth through the cold.
13; CONSTITUTION - Braum is a tank support, so of course you need to be tanky.
12; DEXTERITY - You need to be rather limber to jump to your allies. This will also give a decent boost to your AC if you wear Medium Armor.
10; WISDOM - Braum learnt a lot about nature and people from his mother’s teachings.
8; INTELLIGENCE - No offence to Braum: we simply need everything else more and we’ve gotta dump something.
BACKGROUND
People tell legends of Braum, as if he was a Folk Hero... for that’s what he is! As a Folk Hero you get proficiency with Animal Handling to take care of Poros, and Survival to survive the harsh North. You also get proficiency with Land Vehicles and an Artisan’s Tool of your choice. Just about any of them could be reasonable for Braum, so pick whatever will make you the most friends!
Your background feature Rustic Hospitality will make sure you’re always welcome by a warm hearth. You can find a place to rest and recuperate among commoners as long as you’re nice. They will hide you from anyone searching for you, though they will not risk their lives for you.

THE BUILD
LEVEL 1 - FIGHTER 1
The Freljord is a place for battle, and also a place where we can wear either Medium or Heavy Armor based on your choice of skin.
I’m going to just put this comment here: Braum isn’t going to get Barbarian levels because like half his skins have him wear armor. Also you can’t cast spells while Raging, and “Rage” just feels wrong for Braum. I’d argue that Braum being unarmored is a Magic Item (IE Tattoos.) Feel free to wear Medium Armor to be more in-character, but there’s little reason not to slap on Plate.
As a Fighter you get proficiency in two skills from the Fighter list: Athletics will help you jump over to your allies and Insight will let you tell if your new friend is actually friendly.
Fighters get their Fighting Style at level 1 and while there are a lot of nice ones (especially thanks to a nice witch named Tasha) we’re going to go for the classic of Defense to tank any incoming blow.
We’re not taking Protection, Interception, or Unarmed Fighting because of abilities we’re going to be getting later. Also I’d argue that a Shield would count as “Armor” for being Armored with the Defense Fighting Style.
You also get Second Wind to heal for a d10 plus your Fighter level, for some relief against the harsh winter winds.
LEVEL 2 - FIGHTER 2
Second level Fighters can push themselves a little for their friends. Action Surge lets you take an extra action for the turn!
LEVEL 3 - FIGHTER 3
3rd level Fighters get to choose their Martial Archetype, and for a Fighter who defends their allies and loves animals go for a Cavalier! You get a Bonus Proficiency to finally get Persuasion and be a hero who you’d love to sit down and chat with over a cup of warm milk! You also have Born to the Saddle for some help if you ever try boar riding with Sejuani.
But the main reason we went for Cavalier is Unwavering Mark. When you hit an enemy with a melee weapon attack, you can mark the creature until the end of your next turn. While they’re within 5 feet of you, they have disadvantage on any attack roll that doesn’t target you.
Additionally, if the marked enemy deals damage to anyone other than you, you can make a special melee weapon attack against the marked creature as a bonus action on your next turn. You have advantage on the attack roll, and if it hits, the attack’s weapon deals extra damage to the target equal to half your fighter level. You can mark any number of enemies you want, but you can only use your special attack a number of times equal to your Strength modifier, regaining all uses after a Long Rest.
In short: hit your enemy with a Concussive Blow to make it harder for them to hit your allies, and hit them harder if they still do!
LEVEL 4 - FIGHTER 4
4th level Fighters get an Ability Score Improvement, but how about we prepare for a fight without our shield? Tavern Brawler gives a +1 to Constitution along with proficiency with Improvised Weapons and a d4 Unarmed Strike. Additionally if you punch an enemy you can grapple them as a Bonus Action!
Even if you now have an Unarmed Strike there’s no reason why you can’t use a Bludgeoning damage weapon like a Warhammer and say that it’s your Fist.
Tumblr media
(Artwork by Alvin Lee. Made for Riot Games.)
LEVEL 5 - FIGHTER 5
5th level Fighters get an Extra Attack, for two punches (IE Warhammer hits) in a turn! Remember that you can still only have one enemy marked though!
LEVEL 6 - FIGHTER 6
6th level Fighters get more Ability Score Improvements. Aren’t uneven ability scores fun? Crusher is a feat that gives +1 to Strength but also lets you get some effects of your Concussive Blows: moving enemies around when you hit them with bludgeoning damage and softening them up quite a bit if you happen to crit!
LEVEL 7 - FIGHTER 7
7th level Cavaliers can make sure that their allies stand behind them for a Warding Manuever. If a creature you can see within 5 feet of you (including yourself!) is hit by an attack, you can roll 1d8 as a reaction to block it with your shield (or your weapon.) Roll the die, and add the number rolled to the target’s AC against that attack. If the attack still hits, the target has resistance against the attack’s damage.
You can do this a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier, and regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest. This does unfortunately mean that you’re probably going to be stuck with two uses of your actual “defensive” ability unless your DM provides you with some more Constitution. Or if you got lucky with stat rolls. "Sometimes icy heart just needs warm smile."
LEVEL 8 - FIGHTER 8
8th level Fighters get another Ability Score Improvement: make your Strength even again with a +1, and also put a little bit in Charisma.
Tumblr media
(Artwork by Kelly Aleshire. Made for Riot Games.)
LEVEL 9 - BARD 1
What? Did you think that Charisma was just so you could be nice? To get some Iceborn Magic we’ll be getting some Bard levels! Multiclassing into Bard gives you a skill as well as an instrument. For your skill History is good to tell stories by the hearth, but feel free to take whatever skill your friends may need! For instrument Braum’s theme includes plenty, but there’s some strong Drums as well as a steady Lute.
As a Bard you can bolster your allies with Bardic Inspiration. As a Bonus Action you can give an ally a d6 to add to an Attack Roll, Skill Check, or Saving Throw as their good friend Braum boosts their confidence. And of course as a Bard you get Spellcasting! You learn 2 cantrips from the Bard list: Message is good to keep to teamchat, and Prestidigitation provides plenty of benefits that can help in the frozen north.
You also learn 4 spells from the Bard list: to bolster yourself or your allies for the task get ready for a bout of Heroism! If you want some good fun get your enemies to laugh along with Tasha’s Hideous Laughter! To make friends with Poros take Animal Friendship. And for a very weak Glacial Fissure Earth Tremor will do fine.
LEVEL 10 - BARD 2
Second level Bards can always help, being Jack of All Trades who can add half their proficiency to any skill they’re not proficient in. They’re also great around a campfire with a Song of Rest for a d6 of extra healing during Short Rests.
But of course Bards also get more spells: a good witch named Tasha gave Bards the Compelled Duel spell, letting them keep enemies close so friends can keep safe!
LEVEL 11 - BARD 3
Braum may not have gone to college but Bards get to choose their College at third level, and to have a true heart for battle you should look to join the College of Valor! Along with bonus proficiencies that don’t matter since you started as a Fighter You get Combat Inspiration to augment your Bardic Inspiration. Now your allies can apply some Concussive Blows and add their Inspiration to their damage, or become Unbreakable and add the Inspiration to their AC! This means that your allies can apply Inspiration to just about anything, and you can help them in whatever way’s needed!
You also get Expertise in two skills: Animal Handling will help you take care of Poros, and Athletics will let you make sure you’re always there for your friends. And to top it off you can now learn second level spells like Hold Person to stun with Winter’s Bite!
LEVEL 12 - BARD 4
4th level Bards get an Ability Score Improvement, but instead we’re going to get a bit more resilient with the Resilient feat for Charisma, of course! +1 to CHA and proficiency in saving throws to make sure you aren’t hit with any nasty banishing effects!
You also learn a new spell and a new cantrip! For your cantrip Mending will help you make sure there’s no rips in your outfit. As for spells Enlarge / Reduce was finally added to the Bard list (thank you Tasha!) which you can grab for an Elixir of Iron!
Tumblr media
(Artwork by jorcerca on DeviantArt)
LEVEL 13 - BARD 5
5th level Bards get Font of Inspiration, allowing their Bardic Inspiration to come back on a Short Rest, which is nice because your Bardic Inspiration also increases to a d8.
You can also learn third level spells like Leomund’s Tiny Hut for a safe place to resist away from the harsh Freljordian nights.
LEVEL 14 - BARD 6
6th level Valor Bards get an Extra Attack... that you already have. At least you also get Countercharm, letting your allies have Advantage against Charms and Fears... if you use your Action to help them.
Well at least Slow (thank you Tasha) can be helpful to inflict the chill of winter on your enemies. "To friends, I am snowfall. To enemies, I am avalanche!"
LEVEL 15 - BARD 7
7th level Bards can learn 4th level spells like Hallucinatory Terrain, to bring the North wherever you go!
LEVEL 16 - BARD 8
8th level means more Ability Score Improvements... hey what if we got more Feats? Shield Master is an obvious choice for a man with a very big shield! You can push enemies over and block just about everything with that door of yours!
You can also increase the Confusion of your Concussive Blows with a 4th level spell, making enemies stumble around and have trouble approaching you and your enemies.
Tumblr media
(Artwork by ONO-FIRE on DeviantArt)
LEVEL 17 - BARD 9
9th level Bards see their Song of Rest increase to a d8. Probably a bit late for this feature by total level 17. But at least you can learn 5th level spells like Hold Monster to stun any dragons you may be fighting!
LEVEL 18 - BARD 10
10th level Bards get Expertise in two more skills: Persuasion is good to make friends, and Insight is good to make sure they aren’t enemies! But feel free to choose whatever you think will be more practical.
You also get access to Magical Secrets: spells from any class’ spell list to add to your own. I’d suggest good ol’ Cone of Cold for a blast of harsh winter, but hold off on your other Magical Secret for one level. You can grab another cantrip though so perhaps put some Light on your wards.
LEVEL 19 - BARD 11
11th level Bards can learn 6th level spells but I’m actually going to suggest hopping back to 2nd level for Warding Bond to put a Knight’s Vow on your friends.
That’s because the Magical Secret we’re actually going to take is Gravity Fissure from the Wildemount Dunamancy list. It’s a big split in the earth that slows enemies down and does huge damage, much like a Glacial Fissure!
D&D Beyond Advice: Make a Homebrew version of Gravity Fissure as a Bard spell to take as your “Magical Secret.” IDK why D&D Beyond doesn’t let you take higher level spells with Magical Secrets.
LEVEL 20 - BARD 12
Our final level is the 12th level of Bard for one last Ability Score Improvement... Hey what if we got a feat instead to cap it off? Truthfully if you want to cap off at least one of your two main ability scores go ahead, but Inspiring Leader is also fun, useful, and flavorful. Alternatively the Tough feat can provide a big boost to your HP by the end of the build. Pick whatever you fancy, and whatever you think will help your friends the most!
FINAL BUILD
PROS
You are safe with Braum - While you’re perhaps not the biggest set of muscles out there you sure are a bulky lad, with some strong saving throws, good health, and nice AC boosted up with your shield.
You thought you were in trouble - It seems redundant to say but you are a master of protection, with thousands of ways (magical or otherwise) to keep your allies safe and your enemies at bay.
When going gets tough, you call Braum - Bard levels are quite helpful for making your character helpful! Jack of All Trades combined with Expertise in many a good skill means that even if you just need to help around the house you can still make yourself useful.
CONS
Think carefully, my friend - While Bardic Inspirations and Second Wind come back on a Short Rest the rest of your abilities don’t. Limited spell slots and limited Cavalier features will quickly be exhausted over a long day.
First we fight, then we eat - Between Shield Master, Tavern Brawler, and Bardic Inspiration you have a few too many options for your Bonus Action. Honestly we could’ve easily skipped the Tavern Brawler feat in favor of more ASIs.
Keep your spirits high - Speaking of ASIs: the comedic amount of feats grabbed in this build means that while your Ability Scores are fine enough they are still a little lacking. Mediocre CON means few uses of Warding Maneuver, and having neither Charisma nor Strength maxed means that your Bard abilities and Fighter fighting could be better.
But you’re not here to win by yourself! Make friends, and help those friends become heroes of their own story! Braum can do a lot but it is only when you fight together that great tales can be told. Stories are shared among those closest to us, and legends are made when you overcome challenges as one. "Good times, good friends... what could be better?"

Better Together: "ALN" Story (Pre-Serum Omega!Steve and Alpha!Bucky Modern Domestic AU)
TRIGGER WARNING Brock Rumlow
Eighteen:
If there was one thing to remember about the Barneses, it was to never underestimate them. Especially since it seemed as though as soon as someone had them figured out, they went and surprised everyone. So, Steve really shouldn't have been surprised when they arrived at the funeral home and found Jeremiah in a PJ Masks, Gecko costume – mask included – and Sadie in a Tinkerbell costume. Wings and all.
Sighing in relief that his kids weren't going to stick out like a sore thumb, Steve slipped out of his jacket and helped the kids do the same. While Bucky fidgeted in his scratchy sweater, Steve quietly asked, "You okay?"
"Yeah," Bucky nodded, still twitchy as he touched the back of his head to make sure his kippah was on. Making sure that Oliver's and Finn's were secure, Bucky quietly admitted, "Just trying to keep it together."
Reaching over, Steve gave Bucky's shoulder a comforting squeeze. Wanting to draw his husband closer so he could scent him, but knowing that now wasn't an appropriate time for Bucky's face to be buried in his neck, no matter how much it could've helped. So, Steve marked him before dropping his arm to hang up their jackets on the free-standing racks.
And while the loved ones were all dressed in green outfits, Steve was surprised with how quiet they all were. With only sniffles and whispers shared among the friends, and even less shared among Zayde Harold's grandkids and great-grandkids. It was odd to witness and made a twinge of panic strike his heart as he was reminded of the last funeral that they had attended.
Pausing outside of the room where everyone was gathering, Steve tried to calm his breaths. It didn't help that Atticus was now awake and responding to his anxiety. Probably feeling Steve's current emotion, Bucky stopped and turned around. Finding that Steve wasn't walking behind him, he doubled back for the room's entrance.
"You okay?" Bucky asked, even though he already knew the answer.
"Just need a minute," Steve assured, blowing out a deep exhale while he rubbed his protruding abdomen.
"Want me to wait with you?" Bucky questioned, tenderly pushing Steve's hair away from his face.
Noticing how the boys were hugging their cousins and how Aubrey was now looking at him and Bucky at the door, Steve shook his head. Encouraging, "I'll be in, in just a minute."
After a moment of consideration, Bucky nodded as he agreed. Leaning in, he kissed Steve's temple before continuing down the makeshift aisle. Only giving Steve one more glance.
Once Steve watched Tibby embrace Bucky, he knew that his husband was in good hands and moved out of the way. Standing by the large welcome sign that proclaimed, Celebrating the life of Harold Braum, and tears started prickling at the corners of his eyes. Especially when he realized that the picture used was one that Steve had taken at Oliver's first birthday party with the alpha in mid-laughter at some lame pun Harper had told him.
Taking a tissue from the box next to the guest book, Steve dabbed at his eyes and tried to keep it together. Of course, those damn pregnancy hormones had him crying at a yogurt commercial the other day, so they were definitely going to be worse today. Even if Steve wanted to be a rock. Be there for the rest of his family and comfort them the way they had comforted him in the past.
Blowing his nose, a deep voice cleared their throat behind him, "Am I, uh... Am I at the right place?"
Turning to find Brock, Steve just stood there for a minute before his tears fell down his face with a vengeance. At that, Brock's eyes widened, and he looked highly uncomfortable to, not only be there, but to be standing in front of a crying pregnant omega. Not that Steve could blame him for either.
But he still wasn't sure why this man was here when he had never met anyone else here. However, then Steve remembered that he was the second person that Bucky had called after finding out that his zayde had passed. Steve remembered the way Bucky spoke about Brock and was reminded that the alpha was a good friend. A friend that was there when Steve hadn't been.
Sniffling, Steve confirmed, "You're at the right place."
Awkwardly chuckling, Brock said, "Kinda figured."
"Right," Steve threw the used tissue away, "It's been a long couple of days."
"Don't have to explain anything to me."
Crossing his arms along his chest, Steve held himself and looked anywhere but at the intimidating alpha in front of him. Spotting the basket of kippahs, Steve asked, "Did you get your yarmulke yet?"
"No," Brock shook his head, looking over at the ones provided, "I'm not Jewish."
Shrugging, Steve clarified, "It's considered a sign of respect."
As Brock glanced at the kippahs, Steve studied him. The internal debate for Brock causing suspicion to further grown in Steve. Although he hadn't grown up with the customs and beliefs of his family, and although he and Bucky weren't religious people, Steve still did what he could to respect his family. Genuinely, Steve didn't understand why it seemed to take Brock so long to take one of the cloth caps.
Looking at the yarmulke, Brock asked, "How do I...?"
"Need help?" Steve's mouth offered before his brain could get his legs moving further away from the man. Instead of fleeing the way his body wanted him to, Steve crossed the short distance towards him and held his hand out for the kippah. Having some experience with placing them and clipping them in over the past six years, Steve didn't need a lot of time or thought as he did so with Brock.
Once he was done, Steve let his hands return to his bump. As his gaze moved from checking out the placement of the satin head cover, his gaze landed on Brock. The look in those eyes was something that Steve didn't understand, but it made his stomach flip uncomfortably. Brock might've been a good friend to Bucky, but usually it was well known that a person didn't look at their friend's spouse like that.
Taking a step back to put as much distance between them as possible, Steve gestured towards the room and said, "I'm going to take my seat now."
Brock nodded, letting Steve leave. Steve turned and quickly made his way down the rows of grieving guests until he found Bucky and their sons sitting in the second row along with the rest of Bucky's siblings. Taking the empty seat beside Oliver, he gladly accepted the little boy's hand when he offered it. Even if he did find himself still glancing over his shoulder at Brock.
When their gazes locked, Steve's breath hitched. But he could only look away once Finn started climbing onto his lap. Quickly gathering his toddler and holding him close. Nosing at those soft curls to get the icky feeling from his mind. Wondering if it was too insensitive to tell his husband that his support friend was giving him a bad case of the creeps.
Glancing over to his mate, he noticed how tears were starting to silently fall down his face, and Steve decided to tell him another time. A time when he wasn't mourning. Yeah, that's all Steve had to do. Just wait until he didn't need this friend. By that time, perhaps he wouldn't even need to say anything at all.

Of Kings and Queens: 10
The only thing you hate about this journey is the fact that you don’t have a horse of your own. Riding behind Edmund isn’t the most comfortable experience. Even if his horse Phillip has the smoothest gait you’ve ever experienced.
“How are you doing?” Edmund asks over his shoulder. He doesn’t have to talk too loud since you’re practically plastered to his back, holding on so tightly there’s no way you could slide off.
“I’m alright. How long will it take us to get to Narnia?”
“Maybe two days. We’ll have to spend the night in the woods tonight.”
“That’s alright. The King and I used to go on over night trips when I was younger. He taught me the stars on those trips.”
“Is that where you got the nickname?”
“Partially. I think it was just because I love the stars so much. My father and I bonded over them, it was something that just the two of us did.”
“That sounds really nice. I still don’t know much about the Narnia stars. Lucy has learned them better than I have.”
“I envy your relationship with your siblings.” You admit softly and Edmund hums softly.
“We haven’t always been this way. Do you know much of our story?”
“I don’t. My father kept me away from the violence of the white witch as much as he could. She came to visit once and he hid me away from the palace.”
“Probably because you’re a Daughter of Eve.”
“Will you tell me your story?” Edmund sighs softly then begins to tell you their story.
You didn’t realize how hard it might be for him to do so. The fact that he’d accidentally betrayed his family and caused Aslan to sacrifice himself for Edmund is a humbling story. It also explains why Edmund is known as the Edmund the Just.
“Thank you for telling me.” You say when Edmund finishes talking. He’s quiet for a while then says,
“I hope you know how much Peter cares for you.”
“I care for him too. I’m very grateful for the risks you all are taking to help me.”
“He’s never done anything like this, but Pete has always been protective of the people he cares about so I’m not overly surprised.”
“My king!” A bird swoops down to land on the arm that Edmund offers. “There’s a group of what looks like bandits up ahead.”
“Can we avoid them?”
“Not easily. It’d add another day onto the journey.”
“Orious?”
“Your choice your majesty.” Orious says and you feel Edmund let out a slow breath.
“Are we still in Archenland?” You ask and the bird gives a nod. “They’re never well trained. What does their party consist of?”
“Three fauns, a bear and a dwarf.”
“No horses?”
“No your highness.”
“I say we just barrel through. The bandits of Archenland don’t usually have bows and arrows, the dwarf might but he can only reload so fast.”
“And we have the advantage, we have Wrym, if you’re willing.” Edmund says to the bird who nods.
“I am at your disposal sire.” Wrym says with a nod.
“Let me string and nock an arrow first.” You tell Edmund, “I want to be the one prepared. Can you keep Phillip’s gait this smooth while running?”
“Of course your highness.” Another voice comes and you’re so startled that, had Edmund not stopped you, you’d have fallen off the horse.
“You’re a talking horse!” You cry pausing with your bow in your hand. “Cousin why did you not say anything! I could have walked!”
“You humble me your majesty.” The horse says, “I allow his majesty to ride my back because it is a great honor to be the confidant of the King. I taught him to ride and there is no safer back than mine.”
“If I ride backwards will that be aright?”
“Hold tightly with your legs highness.” Phillip says and you take that as affirmation that you should be just fine to ride backwards. You finish stringing your bow then turn around on Phillip’s back before grabbing an arrow from your quiver at your side.
“Stella put your hood up.” Edmund says and you tug your hood over your hair. “Ready?” He asks as you nock an arrow, then let out a steadying breath.
“Ready.” You call back gripping Phillip tightly with your legs. There’s a slight lurch as Phillip starts at an easy trot then he slowly picks up speed. Wrym circles around then leads the charge, the two mice are on Orious’s back as he thunders along next to you and Edmund who has his sword out and in his hand.
Now the thing about a charging horse is that if you’re not on a charging horse they’re terrifying, no matter what world you’re on. A charging talking horse of Narnia is truly an impressive thing. They’re smarter and much more deadly and honestly, if these bandits even try to stop you with a charging horse they’re idiots. Phillip and Orious build to full runs and your heart is racing as they dash through the woods.
“Just round here.” Wrym says as he flies between Phillip and Orious.
“Only wound if necessary.” Edmund commands, “distract and confuse first.”
“Yes Sire.” The bird says before flying ahead again.
“That goes for everyone. Only attack if necessary.” Your party rounds the corner and as you thunder past you see their flag, two stars, and gasp. Before you know what you’re doing you’ve leapt from Phillip’s back, hit the ground hard and rolled.
“No!” Edmund yells as Phillip winds around. Some of the bandits rush toward you and you stand quickly pulling your hood back from your face. The charging bandits freeze, their weapons still raided then drop quickly to one knee.
“It’s alright! They’re friends!” You tell the Narnian’s before any of them can attack.
“Your Majesty,” one says from his knee, “we were coming to rescue you.”
“On whose orders?” Edmund asks, he’s still on Phillip’s back his sword in his hand.
“His Royal Highness King Lune.”
“Please rise.” The group all rise and you can’t help but be thrilled to recognize some of your brother’s most trusted soldiers. “King Edmund, it is my pleasure to introduce you to my brother’s most trusted. The King’s Guard, Mylos, Ellis, Braum, Nikols and Hylin. King’s Guard, His Royal Highness King Edmund the Just of Narnia and his trusted. Orious, Wrym, Phillip, Tillia and Quono.” You say introducing each in turn.
“We are at your disposal your Highness.” Ellis says and you nod.
“King Edmund, a word.” You say before moving away. He dismounts before following you. “I’d like them to come with us.”
“You trust them.”
“They’re basically the most trusted soldiers in my brother’s army. If he sent them now he had a good reason why and I think they’ll be able to tell us what that is.”
“Alright. Let me send word to Peter.”

RAID - XI
The Anglo-Saxon lay there in the uncomfortable bed that had been hastily made before the two rented the tavern room for the night, he lay there still processing the events from earlier that day. Fortunately, the tavern keeper was grateful enough to the two for defending his daughter that evening that he discounted the charge of the room by half; only charging them only 7£. Aksel, who lay in the same bed beside him, was sound asleep; his knees pulled up in the fetal position, his arms interwoven in front of his neck.
This was exactly what Braum had been trying to avoid every night since they fled from East Anglia. He knew it would happen, for it does every night. He would lay down to rest; let the sweet kiss of slumber come and take him. It was then that his mind began racing with every memory he had from that day; every little detail, every small unimportant movement, everything he could’ve done to save his mother, everything he didn’t do. Every possible result of that split-second just before the strike fell, every possible move he was too scared to make, ‘You could’ve pushed her to the side…’ his mind would taunt him, ‘You could’ve taken the blow in her stead… You could have done literally anything el-!’.
Braum shot upward in their bed, breathing erratically, eyes widened. Aksels head raised slightly before realizing his friend had moved and fallen back down on the pillow. “Sorry…” Braum said sheepishly as he turned his feet out from under the quilt, his friend hadn’t heard him. Braum rested his face in his hands exhaling defeatedly, a single tear fell down his right cheek. He had had enough, he suddenly stood, and began dressing. Aksels figure turned to look inquisitively at Braum, “I’ll return” he said, donning his tunics. Aksel replied, “Lagi...”, setting his head back down on the bed.
Braum had dressed and moved out of their room door. It creaked as the hinged groaned in the pain of being abused for years. He walked down the hallway lit dimly by the light of several candles spaced out just enough for one to see where they were stepping. The wood under his feet moaned with his every other step. His steps brought him to the top of the staircase leading up from the dining area of the tavern. The Saxon was already making his way down the steps when he overheard two people casually conversing, “-Ose two from the fight today? They’re not from round’ ‘ere.”, Braum’s footfalls ceased halfway down the staircase, “Oh?” the second voice encouraged.
There was a short pause and Braum began moving once again, once his feet felt the ground supporting the stairs he could see the tavern keeper peeking around the corner of the bar at him, “‘Ello!”. His voice suddenly much less sinister and intimidating, Braum responded, “Ello…”, the keeper’s sight lingered on Braum for a moment too long before he realized that he wasn’t going to tell him what he was doing. Braum held his gaze, showing that he wouldn’t be influenced by him. The keeper busied himself with washing the wooden utensils and Braum moved to the entrance to the tavern at a slightly faster pace.
There were a few patrons still seated outside the establishment carrying on and laughing as if they hadn’t a care in the world that the tavern was closed and all were meant to be asleep. Braum instinctively looked in their direction and they didn’t seem to notice until Braum heard from behind him, “Oi! Aren’t you the one from that brawl earlier?”. The young man turned to look at his new conversation partner, not breaking his pace away from the tavern, “Ne, that was another.”. “Was it now? Am I wrong fer thinkin you a part of it?”, the man asked, slurring the words in his question as he asked it. Braum turned his back to the man and shrugged his shoulders, showing that he was done with the conversation. His feet trodded along the sludgy European dirt beside the road. When he made his way further away from the tavern, he could see no sign of torchlight making its rounds up and down the street. ‘Perhaps this town has no night watch?’, he asked himself, he found that rather odd, ‘Should I’ve left Axe there alone? Ah, ‘es a big lad, ‘e’ll be a’right.’, he dismissed his concern.
It had been so long since Aksel had slept in his own bed. It was the most comfortable thing he’d slept on in months. His bliss was interrupted by an uncharacteristic chill invading his room when his nose scrunched up in recoil. He did this a few more times before opening his eyes ever so slightly. Upon gathering consciousness Aksel felt how cold the room actually was, it was that same chill from back in the forest, just before they had entered the town. His head moved lazily around to the end of his bed when he saw a figure standing in the corner of the room, just out of the reach of moonlight that shone through the window. “Bröm, hvað-...”, is all he managed to ask when the figure disappeared, halting his voice and widening his eyes. Aksel, frightened, looked around the room with haste, when his vision made it to his right side. A petite, pale, young woman stood before him, wearing a white lambskin, her eyes looked as if they’d seen one thousand horrors over the course of a hundred lifetimes. Though, her brow was furrowed in something that resembled concern.
Aksel threw the quilt off himself and leapt out of the bed on his left side, “Heilög helvíti!” he yelled in an attempt to at least frighten the intruder. Grabbing the first thing in his sight, which happened to be the candle that hung on the wall above him, he brandished it in his front like a rapier. “Viltu deyja?!?! Heh?!”, he yelled once more, waving his candle around like a weapon. The young woman held her hands up, attempting to calm down the Heathen when an irritated knock came at the door before it was flung open. A larger Anglo-Saxon man stood before the two, he stuck one hairy sausage-looking finger at Aksel and hissed, “Quiet down you fucking barbarian! Good folk are tryin to sleep!” violently. Aksel stood before him, candle raised when the door slammed back shut with a DONK.
The young man stood there, having yet to process what was happening around him. He stared through the door when he remembered why the man had entered; Aksel yelled, ‘Why did I yell?’ he asked himself. It clicked, ‘Anda!’ he remembered and looked over the rest of the room. But everything was as it should have been, he paused in uncertainty, further analyzing the enclosure. A drawn-out inhale followed by, “Sssshhhhhh… vinsamlegast ekki öskra, það er sárt í höfðinu á mér.” slithered into Aksels ear and he recoiled, the candle still in hand. He spat back into the empty room, “Hver er þetta?? Hvernig talar þú tungumálið mitt?”, there was a moment before a reply came, “Freyða. Ég er frá þínu heimili…”. Aksel collected himself, ‘Okay… Freyða, who speaks my tongue’.
Aksel could see the figure of the lovely young woman appear again sheepishly from seemingly thin air. Her hands fiddled behind her back, head held low, looking up at Aksel. He couldn’t help but imagine how beautiful the moonlight would’ve looked as it reflected off of the pure white lambskin she wore, though, the moonlight shone through her instead of rearranging itself to allow her existence. “Fyrirgefðu Úlf… Ég var ekki að reyna að hræða þig.’, she whispered to him. It sounded as if she stood directly in front of him but he could clearly see that she stood on the other side of the room. “Nei…”, Aksel found himself at a loss for words, stumbling over his apologies, “Nei ahhh… Allt er gott.”, Aksel tried to draw her wandering gaze to show her his smile. She saw his expression, but hers didn’t change. He sat on his bedside and patted his left hand beside him, inviting her to sit with him. She shyly moved over to his bedside and elegantly sat beside him.
Aksel, once again, didn’t know what to do. ‘Should I ask her why she’s here? What if she doesn’t know? Is she the one that calls me ‘Úlf’? Why? Could she be-”, his thoughts were cut off by his mouth asking, “Hvað ertu að gera hér, Freyða?”. He looked down at her, awaiting a response before moving his sight elsewhere. She eventually replied, “Ég er hér fyrir þig.” Aksel confirmed, “Fyrir mig?”, she looked up at him and slowly nodded. “Ég skil ekki-”, Aksel was cut off by the door to the room being opened again. His head shot up to see Braum standing in the doorway looking at him in question. “Were you talking to yourself there, Axe?” he asked, Aksel returned, “Ah, sometimes I do þat.” with a lighthearted chuckle. Upon looking once again, the Northman saw that Freyða had disappeared from the room entirely.

Story concept - Braum comes from Runeterra to punch Kralk in the face - this is bare-bones and probably poorly written but hey, its a thing
(this story falls on the logic that Braum is an Iceborn and immortal, as well that magic from outside Tyria can harm Kralkatorrik .)
“What do we do now?! “
The Commander fell to their knees, defeated... unsure of where to move next, did anything even matter anymore? Without Aurene, how could we even win now?
“I don’t know.....”
Suddenly, a portal appeared. An unfamiliar,  icy landscape could faintly be viewed. It resembled an area in the Shiverpeaks but felt ... wrong... somehow.
Out of the portal came a small, fluffy goat-like being with a big pink tongue and a mustache. It squeaked and chattered at the group.
Tumblr media
Then, he came.
Tall as a Norn but he had an air of magic about him. This man had existed for as long as time itself, perhaps.
Tumblr media
“Hello my friends! “  - he said, in a gentle voice
“Who the hell are you.... “ said the Commander.
“Braum is here! “  he said, with a chuckle
“Okay... “ said the Commander
Braum then leaned down , looking sympathetic to the Commander’s plight and putting his hand on the Commander’s shoulder
“The darker the night, the brighter the stars, my friend... Braum will make this right”
Then his smile faded into a look of pissed-off determination
Tumblr media
“Braum heard the rumblings of the death of Dragon-Friend from his world.”
“ And where the hell is that?”
“World called Runeterra, Braum hails from Freljord, home of Poros.” he said, pointing out his fluffy companion with a matching mustache.
“uh.... “
“Is not important. More important.. Braum is here ... to punch Dragon-Grandpapa in face.”
Tumblr media
“uh... okay.... How do you plan on doing that? With all due respect.... we just were defeated by him and barely made a dent. ”
Before the Commander had finished speaking, the strange Norn-like man had set off, his fluffy companion trailing behind happily.
“Godspeed, you strange man... godspeed. “
After about a week of searching for Kralkatorrik, Braum finally came upon the beast.
The dragon was wounded in the eye but did not seem that phased by it.
“BRAUM IS HERE “ he shouted.
Kralkatorrik reared its ugly head at him and unleashed a blast of purple from its mouth.
He raised his shield  and stopped the blast dead in its tracks, looking unimpressed.
Tumblr media
“ Think carefully, my friend. “ he replied, as the beast roared at him.
He then did a flying leap and punched Kralkatorrik in the other eye as hard as possible. Which was quite hard, given that Braum could canonically punch through mountains and trees with very little effort. The beast was now permanently blinded.
Kralkatorrik was thrown backwards by the punch, and seemed bewildered. How had a simple man bested him?
“Braum came to punch Dragon in face... Braum has done that. “ chuckled Braum
Kralkatorrik looked like he was going to stand but Braum raised his shield again, slamming it down, unleashing a torrent of ice which split the ground in half. The dragon fell into the icy pit that had been created.
Then Braum landed the finishing blow, not one that would kill the beast but one that would prevent the Elder Dragon from hurting anyone else.
He froze Kralkatorrik solid with his shield’s power. This was not normal ice, but  True Ice, a staple of Braum’s world. It was ice that did not melt for all time.
The Commander reached the make-shift lair of Kralkatorrik and saw Braum, standing by the pit where the beast had been frozen solid .
Braum turned around and smiled at the Commander.
“How does this solve the problem? Kralkatorrik is just going to be unfrozen someday “ said the Commander
“You are safe with Braum.... Braum has frozen Dragon in ice from his world, True Ice. Ice which does not melt “ chuckled Braum
The Commander was quite confused at what had transpired but before they could thank this strange man from another world.... the portal opened again and Braum and his companion disappeared into it .
“I’m a little upset he got the final blow..... but I hope we’ll see him again. “
THE END

I want Braum to be my dad. He's one of those types to play with you and when you're endangered he stands behind you with a smile and punts the thing that is endangering you to the heavens.

📂 📂 📂 📂 📂 one for all
oh man that’s a lotta folk... ok, putting it under read more because I don’t want to curse anyone’s dash with this
Braum: Could drink enough Graggy Ice to leave Gragas ashamed, but prefers to stick to light stuff like milk and tea.Annie: She prefers to walk around barefoot, and enjoys watching the scorch marks she leaves behind on the ground.Illaoi: Her Idol actually speaks at times, and though Nagakabouros’ voice is the sound of the currents and beating of hearts, Illaoi manages to pass his message on.Kindred: They enjoy hanging out by theaters, watching the dramas that humans come up with. It’s where Lamb gets most of her stories from.
Bard: It is said that if you find a group of his chimes in the woods, you are to tie them to a tree’s branch and leave them there. To take them home with you is to curse yourself to the indescribable songs of the Meeps, and to forever be followed by the creatures.
Pyke: Surprisingly good butcher still. His kills are clean, and most of the time the bodies are bled dry before they’re found.
Poppy: Has a little garden in every one of her safehouses, which are kept by the people nearby, or simply takes care of itself.
Lulu: After being caught trading colors for children’s crayons, Lulu is not allowed near Bandle’s schools. No one knows what she does with the crayons.
Rumble: A good alchemist aswell as a mechanical genius, he makes his own fuel for his rockets. Hasn’t set his warehouse ablaze... well, not with that fuel, at least.
Kled: He’s been patrolling the Plains for so long that there are dirt roads created by Skaarl’s feet. People tend to try and avoid them as much as possible, and the few curious folks that try and follow it usually find their doom waiting.
Ivern: Sometimes he just likes spending a decade or two standing still. It’s good for the branches, he says. But he’s happy to indulge in conversation if anyone tries talking to the big white-masked-tree-man-thing while he rests... if they don’t run away when he opens his eyes, that is.Warwick: Chems are pumped constantly into him, and due to Singed’s sadism and brutal efficiency policy, it is thick and extremely goopy. In most nights, Warwick can’t sleep due to the searing pain that overwhelms him in his rare moments of peace.
Rakan: He’s Bi! And enjoys teasing guys just as much as girls, even if at the end of the night he’ll slide away with a skip in his step and no partners laid.
Ornn: Technically speaking, he can create life, but his Golems and Elementals are of simple mind. He uses them to do brutal work for when he can’t multi-task, like opening the massive doors to Hearthome or keeping the forge going while he’s away.
Twitch: If he wasn’t insane, thirsty for blood and enjoyed seeing people melt and their faces go purple so much, Twitch would be regarded as one of the most inventive creators of Runeterra. Even with his twitchy hands, he has made energy generators and breweries so massive in scale and power that Humans can barely match.
Nunu & Willump: Nunu actually needed quite some time to get used to how cold Svellsongur felt on his hands after Willump fixed it, but it has served surprisingly well as a club now. The True Ice used to mend it will one day grow to be a sword.. but Nunu doesn’t know it. Yet...i.Cassiopeia: Though she is a horrible beast, her words still carry power in the Noxian empire. A few soft words and well placed coins make a meal appear as quickly as she wants... even if she prefers to hunt them herself. Sometimes she needs to remind herself that she is still a powerful politician, not some animal driven by instinct.

Champ Design Breakdown: Braum, the Heart of the Freljord
By Helmight
Tumblr media
He’s been making waves in competitive play, so who better to analyze this week than everyone’s favorite Freljordian legend, Braum? Though “shielding” in League of Legends mostly means placing a magical bubble around a friend and calling it good, Braum takes it to a more literal extent and physically blocks skillshots and autoattacks. It’s an excellent change of pace from the usual, and positions Braum as one of the most thematic champions in the game.
The heart is the strongest muscle
Tumblr media
Tales of Braum have been told for generations among the tribes of the Freljord. While the actual telling of said stories can vary, what everyone can agree on is that Braum is incredibly strong, possesses a massive, unbreakable shield, and never fails to protect the innocent from threats.
It’s also unclear as to how true most of these tales are. Some of them are obviously correct, such as the one where Braum discovers an unbreakable door and begins using it as a shield, but others have... questionable authenticity. Regardless, even if Braum isn’t quite as strong or as swift as the stories make him to be, he still manages to live up to the tall tales told about him.
Braum is a legendary defender, so I’d expect him to spend most of his time protecting his friends from enemy attacks. This means he’s likely a warden who uses that massive shield-door he carries around to block damage, though I wouldn’t put it past Braum to have some offensive abilities as well.
They may have many, but you have me
Tumblr media
While Braum can be used as an aggressive, kill-threat support, he’s in his prime when defending his allies from danger. Braum’s massive shield lets him absorb plenty of damage that otherwise would decimate his team, which instantly makes him feel flavorful
Braum’s core combo is Stand Behind Me (W) into Unbreakable (E). With those two abilities, he can fling himself between an ally and danger, then redirect enemy damage to himself instead of his hapless friend. Unbreakable’s damage reduction prevents Braum from getting hurt too badly, so it really does feel like Braum is simply blocking every skillshot with his giant shield. It’s a simple combo, but instantly helps you to feel like a defender.
And when it comes to Braum’s legendary strength, his kit does not disappoint. Concussive Blows (P) is a simple way to showcase his might, but Glacial Fissure (R) is the exact sort of ability I’d expect to see him use - cracking the ice and sending enemies flying with a smash of his shield. Winter’s Bite (Q) is really the only part of his kit that’s questionable - how exactly does punching a shield create an icy projectile? - but since the door is magical in nature and Braum is supposed to be a tall-tale figure, it works out.
If at first you do not succeed... please, tell me what it is like
Tumblr media
Braum manages to capture his theme of being a defender, while also somehow conveying his pseudo-legendary nature at the same time. His kit makes him feel like both a regular, flesh-and-blood warrior and a figure out of myth at the same time, which is quite an impressive feat. There’s really nothing I’d change about Braum - he manages to take top marks.
Final Grade: A+. If you’re looking for a thematic champion, look no further.
Disagree with my assessment of Braum? Or did you want to suggest a champion for next week’s breakdown? Either way, let me know in my inbox, and be sure to like and reblog this post if you enjoyed it!
