I've been getting into Star Wars Unlimited a lot lately and I love the trend (which is getting turned up to big time in the upcoming set) of masters and apprentices that work really well together. It massages the brain all nice.

I'm not a ReyLo shipper (but please please never stop making fanarts of them happy) but I'm a Star Wars fan and after reading two books back to back from Ali Hazelwood (Bride & Love, theoretically) I felt very much obliged to look for her Reylo fanfics...
And after reading one, I cannot stop because I love the fact that it's in the SWU or with SW reference. The Love Hypothesis was already a candy for me when I read it last summer but this, THIS is good.
Anyway, Ali made me want to either open a book review blog or finally put on the internet writings... Probably I will do neither but it's good to dream.

Love to Kevin Libranda, making probably the best art for a leader in Set 3
First off, this is from the current set, Set 3, Twilight of the Republic, This is the full-art treatment of the card, called Hyperspace (that's what the streaks are there for)
I main an Anakin Command Deck this set (with an Ahsoka Cunning deck as well, ill go over her as well) but this is the more meta deck.
I LOVE this art. They chose to take everything about this card from the Citadel arc of season 3 of TCW, so the background is Lola Sayu, a rock planet where almost the entire southern hemisphere is exposed to the lava of the mantel. that cliff face, with the overhang of mushroom like rock, looks perfectly
They also perfectly captured the season 3-6 look of Anakin here, while not cartoonifying the design as much as they might have. The robes, the stance, the furrowed brow is perfect
And the theming, on tope of everything, is perfect. The Subtitle, "What It Takes to Win" is taken directly from the arc itself, where after the gang rescues the then captain Tarkin from prison, Anakin ask Tarkin why he lacks trust in the jedi. Tarkin responds that they are ineffective in the war, that they are peacekeepers, and the Jedi code prevents them from doing "Whatever it takes to Win". Anakin agrees with him, as Tarkin has just laid out his own struggles with the order exactly.
This subtitle sums up Anakin as a character perfectly. Not only is it a reference to him being the Chosen One (literally what it takes to win against the Sith and bring balance), but it brings forth his nature as someone who will not allow anything to stop him, ei. win. Anakin meets someone he loves and loves him, and he does whatever it takes to win (be with her despite the code). When he becomes a general, his approach to combat is fast paced, front leading and sometimes arrogant, everything the jedi code tried to temper out of him, but despite that, he has the most successful campaign of the war, decisively winning every major conflict we see the 501st involved in, because of this "what it takes to win" attitude. He even trained Ahsoka like this, to trust herself and her abilities, not just the code and her orders, and she survived because of it. And when it came to a head, when Anakin was faced with what he thought was the ultimate choice he could make, to save his wife from death and to end the war and bring peace to the galaxy, he agonized over it, but he made his choice, he did what it takes to "win", and it took everything from him. But that was the only option, it was his nature to try to solve everything on his own, in a world where no one else had ever tried and been able to do the same, he consistently did the miraculous, even among those who could do such things, and he continued to try until the end, when he sacrificed himself to defeat Palpatine, to win, he did whatever it takes.
This ties perfectly with his leader ability, to damage your own base, then attack for extra damage, just as Anakin's recklessness is a double edged sword. In game, it allows for you to trade up easily. and sets you up to have likely at least 15 damage on your base by your 6th resource. But at that 6th resource, you flip anakin, and because each 5 damage on your base means an attack power, he has at least 7 attack power and 7 defense, and you are instantly the most powerful unit on the board. and since you have overwhelm, you can attack anything, from a battledroid to a small tank, and your damage will overflow into the base. then it your like me, you buff him with generals saber, and your in a winstate, in the exact same way Anakin was for the entirety of the clone wars.
Right now, Anakin Vigilance is the meta deck, because having Luke and Anakin on the bored at the same time is busted. Definetely a must build deck if you have a playset of Luke units.

Wow, so today is the TENTH anniversary of this little Netrunner blog. And, of course, I only post here a couple of times per year and I have also largely moved on to other games. To that point, the picture here is from last weekend’s Store Showdown for Star Wars: Unlimited, when my son and I got paired in the final round (me on Palpatine blue, him on a mono red Maul). We are prepping today to go out and do it all over again.
Netrunner meant a ton to me, but the energy for that game seems to have fizzled. I’ll pick up cards and try to get them to the table whenever I can, but it’s now firmly in “hey let’s revisit old times with duel decks” territory rather than a game we keep up with. I’ve seen a few things about Elevation — the new product that is replacing all of the FFG-era cards — that sound vaguely interesting, but not a lot of hype for it.
Instead, having a similar-ish game I can play with my son, one that has been releasing 750+ cards per year, one that is about a recognizable lore (and not one being managed by my least favorite person in gaming)… all of these make SWU our game for the moment. And, frankly, it’s kind of fun to be complaining about boneheaded decisions made by FFG again, oddly enough.
I’ll check in with Netrunner again when the new set drops, and I’ll probably never willingly give up this little blog. Netrunner is still a gorgeous and wonderful game, despite any meta shifts I dislike or the issues I have with those managing it now. I’ve recently been unbanned from the Netrunner subreddit (long story; my earlier, acerbic attitude toward the game irritated some of the NSG folks) and will probably be more active there, as well as maybe revive this as a Netrunner blog once the new set is out.
Anyway, happy (?) 10th birthday to Soybeef Tacos!

🎲 5 board games at SWU library that can ruin your friendship 😼
When you think of a library, what comes to mind? Might be boring or nerdy. At the central library of Srinakharinwirot University, there is a board game service that has various games that are available for you guys! Some games are really fun to play and can help build stronger relationships. While some games can cause an argument so bad, it can change your relationship forever. If you’re ready, let's dig into the 5 games that can ruin your friendship at SWU library.

Werewolf 🐺
This is a thriller party game in which players are assigned the roles of villagers and werewolves. The villagers must find the werewolves before they are all killed, while the werewolves try to remain hidden and kill the villagers. Discussion will help the villagers to find the werewolves, but be careful-arguments can ruin your friendship!

Love letter 💌
Be the first to send a love letter to the princess. Each player will draw one card and play another card to eliminate other players. Each card has its own unique ability and number. If your friends manage to guess your number or duel a card with a higher number than you, you are out! The winner will become the princess’ true love while your friendship suffers dramatically.

Skull 💀
This will cause your trust issue. It’s a game of bluffing where you need to wear your poker face. Each player will have 4 cards including 3 flower cards and 1 skull card. You will guess how many flowers your opponent has and open them. You need to trick your friends to flip your skull card. Meanwhile, you have to be careful not to flip the skull card from your friends and yours. And if it turned out to be a skull card. You're in trouble. See? You think your friends are naive. But what if they don't?

Salem 🔮
Find out who the witches are! This game needs everyone’s unity to find the true witches. At the beginning of the game you might be innocent, but after drawing a conspiracy card. This time the witch may be your turn. Come to think of it, from being united with innocent friends to being a part of witches. What would you do? Tell everyone who you are or betray your friends who have been together through thick and thin! Are you bad at lying? Or maybe lying is your hidden talent!

Side effects 💊
This game is about the relationship between diseases and medicines. Each player has chronic disease cards and will use medical cards to operate the cure. But watch out! Your friends can give you new diseases or even use special cards to obstruct you, such as getting rid of all the cards you have, to win the game. I warn you your friend might give you depression!
After playing these board games, you might have to rethink your life choices. Do you want to be a werewolf and murder your friends? or do you want to deceive them? We warn you to bond with one another tightly, because after this round you might have no friends left.
Come ruin your friendship at SWU library. Good luck and have fun! 😏🤪

dinky little card game im obsessed with
So, i'm a star wars fan, a pretty big one, and specifically the clone wars is the most important thing in my life, period.
Like no joke i would trade my sister and her organs for the unfinished episodes to become finished, and at this point i have thought about no single human being as much as i have thought about this show but i digress
Early this year a trading card game came out by fantasy flight games called STAR WARS UNLIMITED and it has become my offline hobby. I never did TCGs before this but now i play it weekly and am on a bunch of discords about it and its great
From what I've heard It follows the basic outline that Magic the Gathering does, (cards as resources, base health is win condition) but the big thing is that unlike magic, it is very turn based, you can do a single action in a turn, and then your opponent can do one, and then your repeat until you both are done with the phase. You don't get run over by 17 cards in the first turn, and people who have played a lot of MTG before this like that part alot. the other thing that i liked was it came out in March, (we are in the 3rd set of cards), so nobody has literally 30 years experience on you if you jump in now.
And I know i sound like a shill for the game, but i also have spent an egregious amount of money on this game and will do for the next few sets as well. Its fun, but also like any TCG, its made so you want to buy packs so you get new cards. DONT PICK IT UP IF YOU CAN SEE YOUR SELF MAKING YOUR FINANCIAL SITUATION CRAZY WORSE BECAUSE OF IT, but if you have a job and self-control, go for it.
ANYWHO, this is all to say that Im gonna be making a series of posts about the art of some of my favorite cards, geeking out about star wars, so this is to explain where these are from.
Message me if you want to talk about SWU or Star Wars, or the Clone Wars, or anything
