Album Review: The Singularity Phase II - Xenotaph by Scar Symmetry (Nuclear Blast)

Scar Symmetry are back, at last, with the second part of their The Singularity trilogy, Xenotaph, due for release via Nuclear Blast on the 9th of June. The Swedish melodic death metal, technical, progressive and more band last released studio music way back in 2014 with the first part of this trilogy, The Singularity Phase I – Neohumanity. Concert? Of my character? I mean the songs they’d be playing in a concert. The first song would have someone else growling, but the female singer would be Taimi.

The all song lyrics are written by Vivs (necromancer), but they’d be composed by their band’s lead guitarist, Kexitonn (engineer). Billyuz (mesmer) would be the keyboard, musical, and computer. He’s also a DJ. Freddric (guardian) would be the drummer. Frizziek (revenant), also the official rapper would be the rhythm guitar. He can also growl. Nicknazz (ranger) is on bass.

Vivs is the main vocalist. He’s clean vocals as well as harsh vocals.

They have many guest singers, and the female singer in Lyriel’s song I imagine to be Marjory DelAqua. And the song is about the struggles of being a necromancer. ^^

The two Kamelot songs would Kexitonn singing.

Their band’s name: Perturbation.
