Did seriously nobody on here gif the moment where Rooney throws a wastebasket over the Scissorwalker's head? That's the most golden, gifable moment ever.

My next Scissorman is a Scissorwoman, The Scissorwalker from Nightcry. Created by Masahiro Ito the artist and designer that brought us Pyramid Head from Silent Hill 2, Scissorwalker is a demonic enity under the control of a cult that roams freely on a cruise liner.

thinkin about this therapist i had in college (not the biphobic one) who, like, begged me to explain in detail how bad my panic attacks were when talking to the psychiatrist bc “it seems like you have a habit of downplaying your problems without realizing it” and like. unfortunately i still haven’t internalized that lesson but it was kind of her to try!

if i had developed nightcry, i simply would not have spent so much money to include jiggle physics, stunted voice acting, and have masahiro ito design the scissorwalker so that, idk, the story could be complete
rip to project scissors but i’m different

NightCry, Scissorwalker 1/6 Scale Statue
Figure features:
Scissorwalker, the brutal killer who stalks and terrifies players in the  horror adventure game “NightCry” is recreated as 1/6 scale statue. This item is thoroughly supervised by the original designer, Masahiro  Ito, who is also known for the art director of “Silent Hill.” Both the sharp blade and heavy blunt edge of the giant scissors are  faithfully sculpted, and the detailed bloodstain paint enhances the  cruelty of the murder weapon used for cutting a human body in half in  one attack! The mysterious body surface appears like a mixture of hair and dirt with  other fine details. The texture of the sinister decayed hood is  realistically captured. The thin objects around the neck, which seem to be made of hardwood’s  skin is sculpted to give the impression of a hard material. The eye of the pitiless murderer is painted in a mysterious glossy black  hue adding to the horrified look. As the character is named, you will feel the deadly “Walking” horror  just like in the game play.
※The decapitated head with the mask of mysterious cult is included as a  bonus with the pre-order.

i was rewatching sgf’s nightcry playthrough and i felt the burning need to know why this game was so shitty so i looked it up and there’s just so much story stuff that never comes up in the game... some of it is “hinted” at but not to any satisfactory or properly interpretable degree.
we know the playable characters are two (graduate?) students and a professor, but what we don’t learn is that they are on the ship on their way back from fieldwork training. fieldwork in what? well leonard is a professor of anthropology or somesuch, so maybe that?
now think how interesting it would have been if monica, apparently a shallow stuck-up party girl interested in expensive clothes and finding a rich husband, displayed any sort of interest or aptitude in her studies! wouldn’t that have made her character at least a little more compelling and likable?
the island cult is weird, because it’s implied that they’ve been living there for at least a few decades under vigo’s direction, attempting various rituals to... idk, create/summon scissorwalker? achieve eternal life? something like that. and i guess vigo had been using his cruise liner as a vessel for transporting the occasional group of human sacrifices. again, not clear, especially because the game offers the possibility that the people on the island were actually just passengers who escaped the ship, even though that’s definitely not the case.
the magic eye thing is mentioned... maybe once in a throwaway line from a book or document one of the characters reads. there’s really only the barest minimum of information to suggest vigo’s intentions – we know he’s behind it, but why? yes, immortality or whatever, but that’s just something he says. the evidence is... kind of there, but again, not in any satisfactorily connected way. the sick bay being full of strange medicines and supplies? the body parts and chunks of flesh found throughout the game? leonard stripped down to nothing but organs? are we to believe vigo has been harvesting organs from his “sacrifices”? that might be cool and subtle in a game that earned its subtlety, but not in a schlocky piece of crap like nightcry.
why does eric come off as such a suspicious creep right from the start, even shown to be a member of vigo’s cult, only for it to turn out that trusting him is vital to completing the game? what’s with his gross rash? why is he cutting up the dress at the beginning of the game, and why does he obviously lie about his reason for doing so? or is he telling the truth and the voice acting is so stilted and awkward that it comes off as a bad lie? is he or is he not on vigo’s side? a double agent, perhaps? who’s to say why anybody does anything in this game.

millenniumpuzzlepussy replied to your post “millenniumpuzzlepussy replied to your post “Apparently the creators...”
I clocked it back when i watched the playthrough like who else will stick to heels that adamantly while running from a murderer? One of the girls, that's who
i was thinking the same thing!!! like the blonde blown out fantasy, the contour, triple Ds, the lips. that snatched waist
ALSO idk if you know this but apparently its so “controversial” that Monica’s page on the wiki actually has this to say about her heels:
Many players question why Monica doesn't just remove her high heels while being stalked by Scissorwalker. Monica never expected to be chased by a serial killer, and she's probably been wearing them for an extended amount of time during the cruise which she's been on for a week. Wearing high heels for long periods of time can damage the feet and have negative health effects such as metatarsalgia, bunions, worse posture, hammertoes, etc. When people remove high heels after wearing them for so long, it takes time for their feet to adjust back to normal, and during this transition period, walking and running can be dangerous and awkward, which is probably one reason Monica doesn't remove them as it may only make things worse. In addition, if Monica left her high heels somewhere, it would only act as a clue for Scissorwalker to find her location. In the first encounter, Monica doesn't have time to go find a hiding spot for her heels. If Monica fell to the floor and Scissorwalker grabbed her leg and pulled her in, she could kick Scissorwalker, but if she was barefoot, it wouldn't have as much impact.
like.... laksjdlkasj mood? oh wyrm??

Jack Baker vs Scissorwalker, who wins?
I don't think Jack would have any trouble at all with sticking that fake eye in his head.
