The State of Technology Today
In old science fiction, they described the Internet (even before the Internet was invented) as a landscape you would plug into and get a rush from - my favorite book on the subject is Neuromancer.  Maybe you’d plug something into your brain, and then there would be so much information that you would get high on it.
The Internet now is really not that far off from the science fiction fantasy, it’s just more integrated with reality.  You go on the phone while waiting for the bus, and you’re there.  You record something happening now onto your Facebook live, and you’re there.  It’s not quite so interesting to talk about cyberspace as a literal space because we don’t fade to black and transfer our consciousness to the net, like we would in this fantasy, but in a sense the brain does similar things.  Inside the net, our minds go into a different mode of thinking.  We quickly open links, instead of linearly processing information like we would while reading a book.  We see things differently...people become a front-facing entity we can interact with, and a backend we don’t see.
I wish I could refer to this imaginary cyber universe as The Matrix, but unfortunately someone already copyrighted that term.  I’m just going to keep calling it FIGNATIA (Facebook, Instagram, Google, Netflix, Apple, TikTok, Intel, Amazon) until it catches on.  Even when it doesn’t, I’m going to keep calling it that.
FIGNATIA is the world we enter when we turn on anything that gets us into the net.  FIGNATIA is accessible on a phone, a laptop, even a Kindle.  And FIGNATIA, in this day and age, is where most of us choose to spend most of our waking moments.
Is it bad?  I don’t think so, but there’s certainly something a little bit terrifying about it.  In this imagined world, we have a separate entity that’s like us, but not us.  It’s a series of attributes, the presence we create every time we like, share, write, or post something.  We’re creating a persona for ourselves, and even when we project it via a conference video or a picture, it’s still not REALLY us.  It’s as authentic as we can make it, but it’s still just far enough from real to serve as something of a mockup.
View Facebook in developer mode, and you can see the JSON-like attribute structure that makes up every person.  Hit “view source” on a website, and you can see portions of the frontend code that render a website.  Unless you’re an app developer or a data scientist, you’re not going to get much out of this except the ability to to remember passwords you forgot and bypass certain payment walls (or, in my case, briefly pretend I’m Neo in The Matrix)...but as a metaphor, I find it interesting.
Many of these things, like software objects or whatever the f*** it is JavaScript decided to use, have an outward-facing component.  That’s our world - it’s an image that makes comments, a username we talk to, a bunch of pictures.  Underneath that, in the background, are all the many pieces of related information that develop as we go about our lives in FIGNITIA.  They have metadata.  They don’t just track what we post, they track the locations, the times, the many other related pieces of data.  With this information at their disposal, FIGNITIA attempts to predict the future by influencing it - it determines what we’re likely to want next, how long we want it for, where we’re going.
And someone like me will act like we’re above all this by seemingly making nothing secret, and by sharing thoughts like this with the world...security by obfuscation, we might say...no one can find anything on me if they have to navigate through a deluge.  But then tracking tools exist.  Run Tumblr through some tools that leverage the API, and you can tease out specific details.  In the same way, websites that cannot seem to be shut down exist that scrape addresses, simply by using associated information.
I think.  I never figured out how some of these tools work, and why they’re legal.
FIGNITIA exists in a feedback loop.  We compete for approval, for attention, and the data this provides is enough to make a person feel high.  Briefly.  The amount of pleasure created is so brief, and so fleeting, that we keep finding ourselves drawn back.
And, again...nothing is wrong with this.  But it’s not reality.  What I write here is still coming from me, but it’s not EXACTLY the cadence of how I interact in real life.  The picture I post may be as close a representation of reality as modern technology can create, but it’s still not QUITE real.  Recording serves as a way to document history, but at what point do we record excessively?  At what point do we find ourselves traveling to landmarks for the pictures, instead of to behold the view?
Reality, in that sense, can quickly feel more like a recording effort than like a series of experiences to enjoy, or at least to live through.  The problem with this virtual reality isn’t that it’s bad or overly addictive, but that it seems so close to reality that the two images become immistable.
We all have the ability to unplug, at any moment we want to, and that’s why there’s nothing inherently bad about the software world we have created.  It marks people safe in natural disasters, creates no shortage of minable data we can exploit in order to determine trends, allows us to investigate things in ways most people don’t even know are possible by combing data they don’t even remember creating.  The net is beautiful, in that sense - for advertising, for helping to make business transactions, for forming a brand on the skills in our respective fields we wish to market.  The net is great.  I cannot even remember what life was like before we had a high-speed connection.
But it seems we live so many times in it, from the latest TV series to the newest news article to the last thing suggested to us by an algorithm passively harvesting the information we provided.  And sometimes it feels wrong, but I don’t know why.  There’s no patience in it.  In the net, time passes differently.

Big Data Hadoop online training course provides you knowledge and skills to become a successful Hadoop Expert. With Spark Databox’s Big data Hadoop certification training, you will be able to master HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, and more by working on real-time Big Data Hadoop Projects.
What are the benefits of taking up Big data online course?
Big data keeps getting bigger and more valuable. Some businesses housed data before they could exploit it, and presently they are receiving the honor.
The truth is that big data will proceed to grow. Whether your data is in a spreadsheet, a database, a data storehouse, the open-source data systems like Hadoop, you require the adaptability to relate to data and solidify it soon. Whatever might be the size, it is the systems of accumulating, and specially leverage your important data.
When you considered big data couldn’t grow any bigger, it got more significant, however. Despite its original size, big data is proving its worth. Organizations hold big data of every form and size. They understand the value, the occasion, and the necessity to pay respects. It has become evident that big data will outlast for those who overlook it.
Businesses that have already domesticated big data — the multi-structured volume they collected before they understood its value — are increasing their operational performance, improving their resources, and enabling new business paradigms.
Let us have a report of different platform usage of data for a minute:
·        Google carries 4,497,420 searches
·        Youtube users view 4,500,000 videos
·        Twitter users post 511,200 tweets
·        Instagram users post 277,777 tales
·        Skype users make 231,840 calls
·        Uber users take 9,772 drives
·        Netflix users stream 694,444 hours of video
·        Giphy toils up 4,800,000 gifs
·        Airbnb books 1,389 reservationsTinder users swipe 1,400,000 times
·        Twitch users view 1,000,000 videos
American broad spectrums of data usage per minute are as follows:
·        Americans do use 4,416,720 GB of internet data every minute, where:
·        Emails – There are 188,000,000 emails sent every minute
·        Texts – There are 18,100,000 texts sent every minute
·        Downloads – There are 390,030 apps downloaded every minute
Can you even tend to imagine an infrastructure proficient at managing any of these infographics?
This computation is very hard to understand.
Beyond all, the amount of internet users is still growing day by day, with a rate of 10%, which shows that the current ratio of data generation is still scraping the cover of its conclusive potential.

Let’s Take a Look at the Data Breaches So Far in 2021
Tumblr media
By now, everyone knows that businesses can be defined on how they approach cybersecurity. Unfortunately, even if your business makes a comprehensive effort to protect your network and data from data breaches, all it takes is one seemingly minor vulnerability to be exploited to make things really hard on your business. Let’s take a look at the major data breaches that have happened since the calendar turned to 2021.
January
For the first ten days of the new year, there weren’t any major breaches, but on the 11th:
1/11/21
Parler – The former social media news app, Parler, after being removed from Amazon servers got some more bad news. It had its data scraped by a hacker and resulted in 70 terabytes of information leaked. This included almost every post to the platform, person-to-person messages, and video data. All of Parler’s Verified Citizens, users that have verified their identities with their driver’s license information were exposed.
Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn – A Chinese social media management organization called Socialarks suffered a data leak that exposed the PII (Personally Identifiable Information) of at least 214 million social media users from Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. User’s names, phone numbers, email addresses, profile pictures, and more were exposed in the leak.
1/12/21
Mimecast – Cloud cybersecurity company Mimecast had their tools hacked, exposing around ten percent of their customers who currently utilize the Microsoft Office 365 email platform.
1/20/21
Pixlr – The free photo-editing application had the user records of 1.9 million of their users compromised. Data that was leaked included email addresses, usernames, hashed passwords, and other sensitive information.
1/22/21
Bonobos – Seven million customers of men’s clothing retailer Bonobos had their customer data stolen and posted on a hacker forum. Some of the data exposed included addresses, phone numbers, account information, and even partial credit card information.
1/24/21
MeetMindful – MeetMindful is a dating platform that was hacked and had 2.28 million registered users’ personal information posted for free on hacker forums. The data that was exposed includes names, email addresses, location, dating preferences, birth dates, IP addresses and more.
1/26/21
VIPGames – The free gaming platform, VIPGames.com had 23 million records leaked for more than 66,000 users. The cause was explained as a cloud misconfiguration. Leaked user records include usernames, emails, IP addresses, hashed passwords, and the status of user accounts.
1/28/21
U.S. Cellular – After a targeting phishing attack of U.S. Cellular employees, hackers were able to gain access to the company’s CRM that contained almost five million user profiles. U.S. Cellular is the fourth largest wireless carrier in the U.S. and admitted to only having 276 users be victims of the social engineering attempt. Records that were compromised included names, addresses, PINs, cell phone numbers, plan information, and more.
February
2/2/21
COMB – Standing for a “Compilation of Many Breaches”, a database containing more than 3.2 billion unique pairs of cleartext emails and passwords that belonged to past leaks of Netflix, LinkedIn, Bitcoin, Yahoo, and more was discovered available online. In the searchable database, hackers were given access to account credentials, access to 200 million Gmail addresses, and 450 million Yahoo email addresses.
2/10/21
Nebraska Medicine – In the first major medical organizational breach of 2021, Nebraska Medicine was inundated by malware allowing a hacker to access and copy the medical records of over 219,000 patients. Information copied included names, addresses, dates of birth, medical record numbers, health insurance information, lab results, imaging, diagnosis, and more.
2/18/21
California DMV – The California Department of Motor Vehicles was hit with a data breach after one of their contracted companies, Automatic Funds Transfer Services, was hit with a ransomware attack. Information stolen included any CDMV information from the past 20 months including names, addresses, license information, and more.
2/20/21
Kroger – A hack of a third-party cloud provider, Accellion, allowed hackers to steal HR data and other sensitive information from supermarket company, Kroger. Some of the records that were disclosed include names, email addresses, home addresses, phone numbers, Social Security numbers, and health insurance information for pharmacy customers.
2/26/21
T-Mobile – An undisclosed number of T-Mobile customers were affected by hackers using SIM-swapping, a social engineering attack that allows hackers to gain control over a user’s smartphone. This allows them to steal money from their accounts, change passwords to hijack accounts, and even lock users out of their own devices.
March
3/3/21
Microsoft Exchange – A vulnerability found in Microsoft Exchange Server email software allowed hackers to gain access to the email of 30,000 organizations from across the U.S. This allowed hackers to gain complete control over affected systems, allowing for data theft and positioned them well for further compromise. Microsoft has since patched the vulnerability.
3/9/21
MultiCare – A ransomware attack exposed the personal and medical information of over 200,000 patients. The attack provided access to names, policy numbers, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, bank accounts, and more.
Millions of people every year are victims of some type of cyberattack. To keep your organization from dealing with this type of problem, contact the experts at Infradapt today at 800-394-2301 to help come up with a strategy.

The Future of Ubersuggest
Tumblr media
* Please read the whole post, I have some good news at the bottom, but it won’t make sense unless you read the whole post.
Do you know why I got into SEO?
Not many people know this, but I grew up in middle-class America, and I wanted a better life for me and my parents.
When I was 16 years old, I worked at a theme park called Knotts Berry Farm where I picked up trash, cleaned restrooms, and swept up vomit every single day.
I didn’t mind it because that’s life and I needed the money.
At 16, I realized I was too young to get a high paying job, so I did the next best thing… I started a business.
But making $5.75 an hour picking up trash wasn’t enough to market my business, though. The only solution that I could think of was SEO because if you put in the time and effort you can get the traffic for free.
It’s also the main reason I fell in love with it… it gives the little guy a chance to compete with the big guys.
And over the years I wanted to pay it forward and help out all of the entrepreneurs and small companies so they can do the same… succeed without having to spend a lot of money.
So, what did I do?
Well over the years, I’ve produced a ton of free content, videos, and guides that help entrepreneurs and marketers of all sizes succeed.
And in February 2017, I decided to take it to the next level by acquiring Ubersuggest for $120,000.
When I first bought it, I had the dream of creating an SEO tool that could compete with the big players that charged $100+ a month, but of course, offer it for free.
The developers that I had at that time estimated that I could do this for $30,000 to $45,000 a month. That was perfect as I had no issue losing that much money each month.
But as we got rolling and kept adding in more features, our expenses continually climbed. Just look at what I spent in the last month…
I spent $89,930 on hosting so far in January with an estimated spend of $128,680 for February. But again, let’s stick with January…
Tumblr media
My back-end development bill from Tryolabs was $47,885 for January.
Tumblr media
My data feed from SEO Power Suite, Data For SEO, and Shared Count totaled $75,253 for January.
And of course, my front-end developers as well as my dev-ops team Netlabs, which ran me $22,700.
Then if you add on miscellaneous costs, such as support, design, and project management, I was out another $11,450.
All in all, I spent $247,218 during the month of January 2020.
Keep in mind that my costs are continually rising. As the tool gets more popular, it costs me more.
One of the big reasons for the server expenses is scrapers.
Believe it or not, a lot of companies are scraping our data and continually rotating up IPs and creating fake accounts, which increases our server expenses. Especially when you consider that they are researching vague SEO terms or domains that aren’t cached in our system.
Don’t feel bad for me
Now the purpose of this post wasn’t to make you feel bad or guilty (unless you are scraping me). I just wanted to be transparent about my situation.
Originally, I was hoping that I could convert a portion of the Ubersuggest customer base into agency clients but as we continually move upstream and work with bigger brands, the conversion rate from an Ubersuggest visitor to a paying consulting customer has been low.
As that didn’t work out the way I wanted, which I learned around 11 months ago, it became harder and harder for me to eat the costs as they continually grew and I didn’t have a way to pay for them other than to dip into my own savings.
So, I started searching for solutions, such as turning Ubersuggest into a non-profit and raise money from foundations to help support the cost. I tried that for 5 months and I didn’t gain much traction.
I also tried to see if I could get sponsors for the tool who would help cover the costs, but that didn’t work out well either. Instead, many of them offered to buy the company for millions of dollars (some in the 8 figures) but I didn’t want to sell it as I knew their goal would be to turn it into another $100-a-month tool, which didn’t sit well with me.
After running out of options, I had no choice but to make some changes to Ubersuggest (don’t worry it is not closing down). But you can guess what the changes are.
But don’t worry…
First and foremost, my goal is still to give as much away for free as I can. Within Ubersuggest, you will still be able to do a lot for free…
Creating projects
You will always be able to create projects and track your rankings. And just like before you always have been limited on the number of keywords you can track and that, of course, is due to costs.
Tumblr media
Keyword research
Within the app, you will still be able to see keyword research data.
Tumblr media
You’ll see a chart with the latest few months’ traffic volume, data on mobile versus desktop search volume, demographic data, and even keyword recommendations.
And you can, of course, continually find new keywords to target.
Tumblr media
Sure, some of the data is blocked, but did you know that only 14.3% of people used to register for a free account to unlock that data.
In other words, most of you never even registered because the application shows you enough for free without needing to log in.
Content ideas
Similar to before, you can also see popular blog post suggestions for any given keyword.
Tumblr media
You’ll also be able to see the top keywords a blog post ranks for and the backlinks pointing to that URL.
Again, keep in mind the majority of you only looked at the top 10 results as 14.3% of you registered for a free account to unlock more data.
Traffic Analyzer
You will still be able to look up any domain and get stats on it.
Tumblr media
Historical data is blocked, but you can see the last few months which is enough for most of you.
You’ll also be able to see the top pages for any domain and the keywords that page ranks for as well as backlinks.
Tumblr media
The same goes for the keywords any domain ranks for.
Tumblr media
Some of the data is blocked, but just like before only 14.3% of you registered to view that data. Which means 85.7% of you are happy with the free data.
SEO Analyzer
Not much has changed here, you can still analyze over 100 pages on your site and figure out which errors you have.
Tumblr media
Here’s an interesting fact: Did you know the average site that goes through Ubersuggest only has 48 pages?
The median number of pages a site has in our system was similar at 43 pages.
And of course, there is the backlinks report, which now shows new and lost links as well as historical link growth.
Tumblr media
Similar to what I mentioned above, very few people really cared to see the blocked off information as only 14.3% of you registered.
My dream
My goal in life is to help people generate more traffic. And I believe Ubersuggest can get better results and give you a fighting chance.
I also want to continually make the tool better. For example, why can’t SEO be automated? If you can have self-driving cars, there is no reason why you can’t automate SEO through artificial intelligence and machine learning.
But with the rising expenses, I was left with 2 options… either shut the tool down (which isn’t an option for me) or figure out a way to cover my expenses.
In the long run, I can’t keep sustaining the loss of $247,218 a month forever, especially when that number is climbing (that’s roughly 3 million dollars a year).
My team and I came up with an interesting concept that we think is fair and hopefully, you won’t be upset about it.
Remember how I said only 14.3% of people register to view more data but 85.7% never register as they were happy with the free data?
Well, nothing will change for 85.7% of you.
As for the 14.3% who register to create projects and track keywords, you can still do that for free. But if you want to add more projects or track a lot more keywords, you can upgrade to a paid plan.
The same goes for keyword research. If you want to view even more data, you can pay for the blocked data. Or if you want to analyze thousands of pages on your site through the site audit, you can also upgrade.
Don’t worry though, I am still following my original mission.
I promise to always keep Ubersuggest affordable (and mainly free). I decided to take the Netflix/Amazon approach and try to make the cost super affordable (as my goal is to only break-even).
On top of that, I made it a 7-day free trial.
You’ll also find that the pricing varies per country as my costs vary per country. In regions like India and Brazil when someone registers, creates a project and tracks keywords, my expenses are substantially lower than if someone from the United States registers and creates projects and tracks keywords.
The same goes for labor. My support team in India and other regions costs substantially less than the team in the United States or the United Kingdom.
If you also pay annually, you’ll get 2 months free so you can save even more money.
And as I mentioned above, I want to stick to the original mission, which is to help people generate more traffic without having to spend a lot of money.
There will always be a very generous free plan and I am hoping that I can break even by charging for a portion of the application.
What’s next?
Ubersuggest is going to continually get better.
To make things up to you, over the next month or two I am going to release a Chrome extension that will give you tons of insights for free. And of course, if you want a little bit more you can pay.
Here’s what the free extension will look like…
Tumblr media
Whenever you perform a Google search you will be able to see the volume for any search term in any major country. And if you click the “view all” link you will see more data on that keyword.
Tumblr media
You’ll also see the average domain score for any given ranking page and the number of links you need to rank in the top 10.
Tumblr media
As you scroll down and go through each of the ranking results, you’ll see the domain score for each URL, social shares, and the backlinks pointing to that search result.
Tumblr media
You can even drill down and see the top links pointing to each URL.
Tumblr media
Now if you head over to the sidebar, you’ll see a list of related keywords as well as data on the top 10 keyword recommendations.
Tumblr media
If you scroll a bit more, you’ll see a graph that shows how many backlinks each result has so that way you can see how many backlinks again you roughly need to rank in the top 10.
Tumblr media
At the very bottom of the search results, you’ll see data on related keywords.
Tumblr media
As time goes on not only will you have the extension, but I will continually add more and more features for free.
Conclusion
I’m sorry that I have to start covering my costs, but I hope you understand at the same time.
From my projections, it will take me roughly 6 months to break even, so I am going to be out a decent amount of money over the next 6 months… but that’s life.
I am not looking to recuperate my original investment and I don’t mind that being a loss, but once I break even on a monthly basis I will continue to either open up more stuff for free or consider lowering the monthly pricing if possible.
Again, I am really sorry, but I hope you understand that it isn’t sustainable for me to spend $247,218 a month indefinitely.
I am open to hearing your thoughts or ideas. I also want to let you know I appreciate everything you have done to support Ubersuggest and my site.
