Something fishy swims this way

Deep under the waves two little mers are swimming when they spot something or rather someone interesting. Who might you be? They wonder.

welcome to the family Mer sun and Mer moon! These two have been challenge from sculpture to painting even taking pictures of them is tricky (they are longer than my current photo set and the camera doesn’t like to focus on moon ) but I’m so happy with how they turned out none the less and can’t wait to take a few more scene pictures with them. (And don’t worry I still plan to take more photos with the tsams family/friends there’s a break in the weather coming soon and I’ll be able to bring them out into the yard for some nice nature photos, I’m also working on some more indoor paper craft sets use with them)

Little fishies seem to have met a bigger Mer. ( trying to get more angled shots with dark gloves so I can photo shop the pictures later and to show off their tails more but the only gloves I had on hand were my cosplay cryptid gloves )

“These articulated characters are known as dług̱we’ treasures (as are the theatrical dances in which they appear). The Kwakwaka’wakw have a history of puppetry related to their ceremonial feasts. The winter potlatches are known for their spectacular performances, suffused with cultural teachings and supernatural content, such as the coming of Winalagalis, the supernatural warrior. Dances and songs associated with Winalagalis include the tuxw’id, which is performed by women, who have the power and rights to make the dług̱we’ treasures (puppets) come to life. For instance, a tuxw’id dancer could summon a crustacean to life, on invisible cords, in the flickering firelight.”
