An enjoyable rom-com with two very likable leads. A rarity these days.

If there was a small thing that bothered me then it's that the two are just a little too good and perfect to be real. But then again, it's the movies.

Chris Watts: Confession of the Killer is a thriller that is more decent than it has to be. Lifetime is well known for their ripped from the headlines movies coming two seconds after they happen and the Watts murders was no different. Sean Kleier and Ashley Williams play Chris and Shannan Watts and give genuinely good performances, especially Sean who nearly perfectly emulates Chris.

Nearly. Obviously there's some awkward dialogue and non existent chemistry but the two manage enough.

The opening is a bit jarring because it's news audio of Chris' arrest but visually is Bella and Celeste playing. Jarring because the girls are barely in it until it seems like the filmmakers remembered they existed.

Tragically however the film subtly blames Shannan for her murder but making it seem as if she was a nagging wife. Chris' mistress is also not nearly as vile as her real life counterpart.

Also a massive trigger warning, Chris murdering Shannan is on screen and graphic

All in all it's a decent Lifetime movie. There's more effort in this than other movies
