i've certainly seen a lot of Takes surrounding the watcher streaming service debacle, but it's pretty wild to me how "this fully fledged production company doesn't need 30 employees." is a fairly common sentiment i've observed. like first of all, 30 is on the smaller side for the number of employees a production company needs, and second of all, are you suggesting that the kinder decision for watcher to make would be to lay off most of their workers in order to keep costs down?? like can we get real for a moment???

society if small local thrift stores that have nice stuff at good prices were open even just one evening a week. or perhaps even normal afternoon hours

#they're all like open from 10-11 am every second weekday 2-3:30 pm on mondays and thursdays and 3:45-4:10 pm every 2nd full moon #like i get that these are mostly smaller church-owned operations that rely on the volunteer service of elderly women and the obvious #solution to this is to volunteer yourself but like. why is this the only option besides goodwill and value village (enemies of the people)

Can't believe I'm actually getting attached to like the Worst Guy my brain has ever cooked up.

#he's a communist lapdog and all around just a Terrible Person #he would have founded r/atheism if he could have #(he finds out claire ((pupil/operative under his command)) has 'fallen prey' to religion in the states-#-and proceeds to have her bible and other religious icons confiscated-#-and tells her to reassess her priorities because if she doesn't he'll have the members of the church harmed as well)#i hate him but also he's there to be a complex and unhealthy figure in her life and he does a good job #she's his favorite 'child'/pupil. but she's also nothing but a weapon to him #he's attached to her the way he's attached to the gun he's had since his service in WW2 #it has a job and it's served it's purpose. a purpose that benefits him #unfortunately unlike a gun human beings have emotions and their loyalty shifts #so as soon as his second favorite pupil (mikhail) ends up dead and her loyalty wavers she's no longer useful to him #his attitude came to be while looking up persecution of christians and religion in general in the soviet union #as well as that one scene in the americans where philip goes ballistic and rips apart paige's bible because she donated to the church #and people in the comments were saying his outburst and yelling were justified because 'he was scared because she fell prey to a fairytale'#'and con artists'#and i was just like 'so if a christian parent had a similar outburst to their child being atheist/otherwise not christian it would be abuse #'but this. this is fine. in fact this is justified. i see how it is'#he wasn't mad she 'fell prey to a fairytale' as you call it he was mad because her loyalty to her parents and their cause was threatened #so yeah. kyrill was formed to explore that to an extent #but mainly to be terrible. but the only parental/mentor figure she's got #ocposting on main #probably delete later

Keep in mind, all of my AU Butchlander threadfics on Twitter are the unpolished first draft versions of what’ll eventually be polished up into long fics on AO3 under the Shock and Awe series. We’re just loosely playing around with ideas and concepts for now!

A/N - ...I shouldn't be surprised but it's always a surprise to me seeing the effect whenever I switch POVs in my fics (because, depending on who's POV it is, it somehow always humanizes the male chara whose POV I'm in and makes him seem...softer than were I to write in the opposite POV).

Maybe it's just me imagining this strange phenomenon but I feel the dynamic has certainly flipped a tad when this happens, haha.

Next update we'll get the stereotypical rich sug*r d*ddy spoiling and pampering his wide-eyed sug*r b*by scene. Tbh I tried to fit it into this update but it didn't feel like it's the right placement yet and it needs buildup (to set up the next spicy scene). Homelander has to earn that D 🍆 💦.
