I can tell I made the right choice to work with hestia because though it’s only been like a month, I’ve already gained an intense interest in cooking more and baking more and I made my first ever proper recipe (it was for pumpkin spice cookies) and I immediately was like I NEED CONTAINERS SO I CAN SEND SOME TO MY FRIENDS!!!!!! and then I saw a video about making a huge pot of potato bacon soup and it looked astounding and I almost cried cuz I was like I CAN MAKE THIS FOR MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY AND THEYLL LOVE IT!!! like genuinely had to stop the tears from falling. Thank you lady hestia for making me realize my absolute LOVE for the kitchen as an audhd person who has always struggled with it <3

So this is something I didn't know had happened—back when Izar and Ensha were sent out together for the very first time, barely trusting each other, and ending up at Raya Lucaria after a series of unplanned complications.

They have reached the Church of the Cuckoo and made camp there—to rest and recover, painfully necessary for both of them. They have called a truce, unsure where to go from here. Izar is losing the grace.

And yet, when she strolls through the church, her curious gaze flickering over the scrolls and books scattered over the floor…

She notices feathers. Everywhere in the nave, the cold polished stone floor is covered in feathers.

Izar frowns, and looks up. Only now does she recognize the dark metal objects hanging from above as what they really are: bird cages.

There are still shapes within. And as she holds her breath, she can hear it. The faintest flutter of tired wings. The softest chirp.

‟They’re still alive!” she exclaims, well aware that Ensha is keeping an eye on her even though the church should be safe by now. ‟Or at least… not fully dead? Anyway. We need to open those cages.”

He stares. How can she care possibly care about the forgotten cuckoos of the Academy? Why would it matter—

She’s already halfway up the ladder.

Ensha can’t call after her, so he just snaps his fingers, gesturing; motioning for her to look more closely at the cages and the chains holding them. Even from the upper floor, there is no way to reach them.

Izar’s fingers tighten around the rung as her gaze follows Ensha’s motioning and she understands. ‟But we can’t just leave them. They shouldn’t be kept in cages.” A pause, and she adds, ‟Nobody should.”

There is something about her saying we that catches Ensha off guard. As if there was a we. As if there could be one.

He points again—to a cage she has overlooked in her eagerness. This one isn’t hanging from the ceiling; it’s placed on the floor, between the pillars.

Within reach.

The bird inside tilts its head as Izar approaches, slowly, holding her breath. It has feathers… but no eyes. She still gets the feeling that it watches her every movement.

Careful not to startle it, she moves closer. Reaches out. Opens the cage.

As it flutters away, Izar smiles—despite everything, and not just to herself. ‟We set it free.”

Ensha, in silence, gazes after the bird.

Hey, it has been a very long time since we've done one of these!

(Since October 2022, if my records are accurate. And, of course, any such posts on the blog were wiped when I was hacked...)

[Also, the only set I bought all of last year, but with all the moving and such going on, I never actually photographed, so let's include that in this batch]

You all know my love of the ancient/archaic style of dice (and how I use them as inspiration for Aasimar characters), so when I saw these sets that I didn't already have as a bundle from Haxtec (and a nice shiny other set), I figured it was as good of an an excuse as any to indulge my addiction.

So, it's been over a year since I did my usual photography - I guess I'll have to see if I remember how I set things up.

Also, even though it's the same old desk, it's a new room with a new way of arranging my desk, so I guess we'll have to see if there's any changes I need to make to my process.

New photos - Well, one per set at least, hopefully, at some point to follow. Not sure if I want to dump all the photos for all the sets into the same post.

2nd choice property (the big duplex with more questionable quality) the property management texted me yesterday asking when I'd be looking to move. And I answered around the start of June (tho technically I don't *have* to move until July)

They took over a day to reply with This...

seven years or so i accidentally ordered the lord of the rings two tower vinyl box set twice for like 140 euro per box, which was a lot of money but i also was too lazy to return the extra one and missed the deadline, so i still have it in a box, sealed, and i just looked it up online and used it starts to be sold around 350, and new the lowest price is 600. i am not gonna become one of those cunts who "invest" in this sort of thing, limited stuff that will only collect "worth" once its not for sale anymore, but i will be making a nice little profit i guess
