Red Haired: Shanks

He's been with many women , men , and people in between. Hookups , bar dates , etc. He never thought he'd actually catch feelings for one of his flings until he met you.

You were surprised to join his crew (since it was all men) , but you proved to be a great comrade.

He loves how headstrong you are , how captivating you look , how you battle , and so much more.

He became increasingly more obvious that he was head over heels for you , as pointed out by one of his conversations with Mihawk himself.

One night , during a celebrating , the crew was mostly drunk , eating , or dancing. Shanks was one of the drunken pirates laying around.

He was hanging out near you. You watched him since you weren't drunk and wanted to make sure he was okay.

While he rested his head in your lap , he told you how beautiful / handsome you are to him. While you processed his words , he continued about how he much he loves you.

But he vaguely remembered saying those things in the morning. Mostly because you were there , laying beside him.

Buggy the Clown

He was oblivious to his feelings for you.

When you joined up with him , he felt as if he was on top of the world because of having someone strong like you on his side.

Eventually , he fell head over heels for you. It was extremely obvious. He had a huge soft spot for you , would only listen to you , would turn red around you , would yell at you less , etc.

He couldn't even tell until Alvida brought it up to him. She told him that what he felt was love and he FREAKED out.

He's never been in love before. He doesn't know how to handle his emotions and such , so he tries to distance himself from you to make the feelings fade.

But they only grew.

One day , you brought some food to his room. You wanted to see if he was okay. You didn't bother knocking since he knew it was you.

You placed it on his desk and sat near him to check in on him.

That was a mistake.

As soon as you did , he blurted out a bunch of nonsense. The only thing you caught was that he was in love with you.

You told him you felt the same and surprised the fuck out of him.

Pirate King: Gol D. Roger

He was also oblivious to the fact he was in love with you , but his entire crew knew.

Even Buggy and Shanks knew.

Rayleigh talked to him about it and Roger admitted that you did make him feel weird. Though , he never thought anything of it. He though you were just his closest companion.

Rayleigh told him that he was in love with you and he should just tell you.

And he did.

As bluntly as possible.

He didn't even sugar coat it.

He just straight up told you on a random day while you two were hanging our.

It shocked the fuck out of you , but you told him you felt the same.

That same , handsome smile that's always on his face grew.

His entire crew was in SHOCK.

They knew how he felt , but they didn't expect him to confess like this.

Dark King: Silvers Rayleigh

He's a very wise man. He's the righthand of the pirate king , so he has to be (also because Roger is a bubble head who runs right into danger with a smile on his face).

He knew. He knew the second that his heart skipped a beat around you. He accepted it and observed you silently.

Like Robin , he finds out your hobbies and stuff you like.

When he finally decides its the right time to confess , he gets you some flowers and confesses to you on a beach island you his landed on.

You were shocked. You never expected the DARK KING himself to be in love with you. Especially because you felt the same.

You told him you felt the same , and he embraced you. He held onto you for God knows how long , but you both enjoyed it.

Former Empress of Amazon Lily: Shakuyaku (Shakky)

Like Rayleigh , she is very wise. That's why she runs a rip - off bar . . .

She realized she was in love with you almost immediately. It was obvious because she fell into the same illness that those before her did.

The Love Sickness.

She was obsessed with you and would flirt with you at any chance she got. She would do anything she could to turn your face beat red.

She knew what embarrassed you and what flustered you.

She used this and asked you to be her significant other , seemingly joking. This happened at her bar.

You asked if she was joking and she shook her head while smiling.

You agreed and she resigned as the empress of Amazon Lily.

You moved to Sabaody to be with her and run her bar with her.

White Chase: Smoker

Though he seems gruff , he has a massive soft side for G5 and his comrades. That includes you.

In fact , he had a bigger soft spot for you. You got away with more shenanigans , you got to hang out with him more , etc. G5 and Tashigi noticed.

He didn't , but they sure as hell did. They would tease poor Smoker about his little crush all. day.

Any chance they got , they would hook you guys up. On an island ? You twos re going together. Gotta run some errands ? Smoker and Reader can handle it !

Eventually , his feelings grew unbearable.

One evening , when you two were dining together after a battle , he blurted out his feelings.

After realizing what he did , he looked away in shame.

But you held his hand and told him you felt the same.

Though you two are together now , G5 still teases him about you.

"Captain" Tashigi

It was obvious to literally everyone , even Smoker.

She's always so nervous around you. She stumbles more often , her face is always pink around you , etc. She even works harder when you're around ! (She wants to show you that she's strong)

Even you noticed.

G5 teased her about it and did the same thing they did to Smoker. They would hook you guys up as much as possible.

Eventually , you just confessed your love to her because you knew she wouldn't do it. She told you she felt the same and you two got together.

Hawkeye: Dracule Mihawk

He could tell as soon as it came up. He's a smart man.

Since you started living with him , he knew it would most likely happen. However , he wasn't exactly sure how to tell you.

He decided to ask Perona about her opinion. Upon hearing his feelings for you , she freaked out and cheered for him.

She gave him a BUNCH of tips , pointers , and stuff like that. She told him to surprise you with flowers , dinner , and stuff you liked.

Which he did.

He brought you to the Baratie , the place famous for its food. He knew you liked that place because you grew up around the owner.

He took you there and let you go crazy with whatever you wanted to order.

At the end of yalls little dinner date , he handed you a black rose and informed you of his feelings.

With dead eyes. Like , he wasn't even nervous.

You were though.

You turned red but told him you felt the same.

He was very happy , even if he didn't look it.

He brought you back to the castle and ended the night with wine and reading (with you , of course).

Hi! During Amazon Lily (ch522 and ch523) Gloriosa talks about the two other Empresses. In the translation it says "the previous empress died of this illness, as did the empress before her" and "(they) ruined themselves by suppressing those feelings". Since Shakky is very much alive, are there any nuances in the original Japanese text that didn't come through with the translation that suggests those two empresses didn't die for real? Thank you!

oooh, good question! i'd forgotten about this line!

so, if i'm reading it right, there is a small but important distinction here between the japanese and the english. gloriosa says 先代皇帝もこの病で死んだ/sendai koutei mo kono yamai de shinda, "the previous empress also died of this disease."

however, when talking about the empress two generations in the past (so, shakky) she says 先々代も同じだったそうじゃ/sensendai mo onaji datta sou ja. the important word here is sou, which is a pretty versatile word in japanese that can have several meanings- in contexts like this, it usually means 'seems'/confers a sort of uncertainty on the statement. so her statement about shakky is something like "it the empress before her seems to have been the same" or "it seems the same befell the empress before her." there's a few ways you could translate it.

given she seems (from the one panel we get) unsurprised that shakky is alive when we get the reveal in chapter 1059, my guess is that shakky faked her death or otherwise chose to suddenly disappear when she quit pirating, and that gloriosa was aware and may have helped her cover for it.

The crew has stopped off at the Sabaody archipelago for a few weeks

Shanks: *talking with Benn* I can't think of a good prank.

You: *the resident prankster* need help

Benn: has anyone ever told you eavesdropping is rude?

You: repeatedly, but who are we pranking?

Shanks: *makes eye contact with Benn*

Benn: *shrugs* they do know what they're doing.

Shanks: Alright, but you can't tell anyone what we're planning. So it'll be you, me, Benn, Yassop, and Lucky Roux pranking Rayleigh.

You: *hisses* you want to prank Dark King Rayleigh! Have you lost your mind!

Shanks: we'll be fine as long as we don't piss off Shakky, which having you on board makes things a lot easier she likes you after all, and we don't break anything. Also, Rayleigh raised me on Roger's ship, and it's tradition that I prank him when I come to visit.

You: if you say so... I may have an idea then.

Two days later

Shanks: this is the stupidest prank I've ever heard of. He likes this grandpa candy.

Benn: *throw a bag of hard caramels at him,* it's funny, now keep working.

You: now remember, we're going to do this slowly at first a few candies here and there, then we'll pull out all the stops.

A week later

Rayleigh: Alright, which one of you motherfuckers filled my dresser with candy?

Shanks: Oh you must be getting to that age.

Rayleigh: you don't fool me for a second you little shit, and what age?

Benn: That age where the old people candy just sort of spawns near you.

Rayleigh: What? That's not a thing.

Benn: You can believe whatever you want, my father did the same thing when it started to happen to him. But he was eventually buried in it, and his neighbors spent two days digging him out.

Rayleigh: *starting to lose it* Just tell me who it is, and I promise I won't be mad.

Shanks: don't look at me, you know I hate that shit.

Benn: It hurts my teeth.

Yassop: I wouldn't dare.

Rayleigh: *locks eyes with you*

You: *hides behind Shakky* I am innocent, I promise.

Shakky: *pats you on the back, while pickpocketing you of the candy in your pockets* You're scaring the children dear.

Rayleigh: The promise of a pirate when they're being accused means very little. *Looks to Lucky Roux*

Lucky Roux: *shakes his head * I swear upon my tongue.

Rayleigh: That's it! All of you empty your pockets right this instant!

Shakky: *wraps her arms around Rayleigh, sliding her hands and the candy into his back pockets* Calm down my love, you shouldn't accuse them of anything without proof.

Rayleigh: *deflates and his anger leave him* You're right I'm sorry.

Shakky: * pulls her hands out of his back pockets and shows him the candy* especially when they may be right.

Rayleigh: God damn it! *Storms out of the room*

Shakky: I'm going to keep this little prank going even after you all have left, it's quite fun to see him so worked up.

Shanks: when did you figure it out?

Shakky: oh please, this is my house, nothing comes in or out without me knowing. Plus none of you are slick, I could hear the crinkling from the bags all night.

Fists for Family (Rayleigh x gn!child!reader x Shakky)

A/N: Here we go! Originally, this was going to be just Rayleigh with Shakky just having one line or one action, but we need that grandma action. Who do guys want to see interacting with a child next?

Rayleigh sat in the Shakky’s Rip-off bar, sipping his drink and speaking with his wife, when his attention was pulled away from her to a newcomer.

“Oh Dear, What did you do now?” He asks as he sighs, setting his glass down.

“So-rry Grandpa,” the small child drawls

Rayleigh raises an eyebrow.

“Reader, Did you get into another fight?”

“…yeah,” they mutter.

Rayleigh is quick to give them a quick slap to the back of the head.

“Ow! Grandpa, what was that for! Grandma Grandpa is being mean!”

Rayleigh gives them a hard look.

“To knock some sense into you, you always get in trouble like this, yet you never learn!”

“He’s right, Honey; you’ll get really hurt one day if you keep this up,” Shakky says exhaling the smoke in a thin wisp.

“But Grandpa, Grandma, they deserved it!”

Rayleigh shakes his head, looking at the child.

“It doesn’t matter if they did deserve it! You need to learn self-restraint! You don’t walk around beating people up whenever they wrong you!”

“Why not?!” they yell at him.

Rayleigh delivers a second slap to the back of their head.

“Ow! Grandpa, that really hurts! Grandma!” they call again, hoping she will save them.

She simply gives them a smile and shakes her head, holding the cigarette between her fingers.

“Good! I hope you remember that when you think of getting into another pointless fight for no reason again.”

They pout, rubbing the back of their head.

“I hope that attitude sticks around. Now, what was this fight about hm? Or should I find out later from an angry mob again?”

“That was one time, Grandpa! He was insulting you! And then went crying to his dad, who happened to be the mayor.” The child protests, crossing their arms.

Rayleigh raises an eyebrow.

“What was it this time?” the old man says, waving his previous statement off.

The child fidgets slightly at the question.

“Hm?” Rayleigh presses, clearly noticing the child’s reluctance to answer.

The child mutters something under their breath.

Rayleigh leans in, placing his hands together and resting his elbows on the table as he stares at the child with curious eyes.

“What was that?”

“…they were insulting you again.”

The old man sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose.

“That’s what started this?”

They nod, rubbing their arm nervously

He sighs, motioning Reader to come closer

They step towards him, still avoiding his eyes even as he picks them up, placing them on his lap.

Rayleigh gently puts a hand on their cheek.

“Look at me, reader.”

They glance at him.

“Do not let them get to you, Reader. I am not fragile, and you do not have to defend me every time they make a snide remark.”

“I know, but it’s not fair how they talk about you, Grandpa!”

Rayleigh smiles and hugs them tightly.

“I know it isn’t fair, but you must remember that people like that are not worth your time and energy. Let them babble nonsense about me and come to me with it instead. Do not let their snide remarks get to you, though. Okay..?”

“Good..and promise me you won’t go around hitting people when they say something you don’t like?”

“I’ll try”

“Hm, better than nothing.” The old man sighs and pats their head.

“Now let me see,” Shakky says, gesturing to their arm.

“But it’s gonna hurt!”

Rayleigh sighs and ruffles their hair.

“Stop whining; listen to your Grandmother.”

They groan, showing her their arm where a new cut adorned their skin.

Shakky humed as she examined the cut. It wasn’t a bad one, but it was still enough to require at least some sort of care-taking.

Rayleigh looked back at Reader and spoke softly.

“This is why you shouldn’t just attack people blindly just because you don’t like what they say.”

The woman looked at them for a moment before sighing and picking them up from her husband’s lap.

“You’re coming with me, and we’re going to properly treat that.”

“Rayleigh, could you pass me the rubbing alcohol? It’s on the cabinet over there.”

Rayleigh swiftly stands and walks to the bartender’s side of the bar, opens the cabinet, and grabs a bottle of alcohol, handing it to his wife.

“Here you go.”

“Thank you, Dear”

“Now don’t you worry, Reader, if you behave, then this won’t hurt at all,” she says as she puts her cigarette in her mouth and inhales.

Rayleigh nods and smiles before Shakky starts pouring the alcohol over the cut, and he places a small bandage on it. Reader winces at the pain but tries to remain still.

“There you go, dear. It’s not a big cut, so it will be good as new in a few days, As long as you don’t get into any more fights.” Rayleigh comments

The old man turns to shake a finger at the child sternly, but the scolding is just an act as he tries to hide the soft chuckle.

The child giggles at his grandpa’s antics.

“Thank you, and sorry.”

Rayleigh laughs and ruffles their hair.

“Just don’t let it happen again, sweetheart. I do not enjoy fixing you up after a fight.”

He remembers something and glances toward the child in his wife’s hands.

“So, did you win?”

“Of course I did; I’m your grandchild, after all,” she grins, giving him a peace sign.

He laughs and gives them a quick kiss on the forehead,

“That you are. I expect nothing less from my grandchild.”

Shakky shakes her head with a smile on her face, kissing their forehead as well.

The old married couple who's healthy, Enies Lobby (and all their appearances) are their propaganda really.

It’s all about the maturity!

Their dynamic is perfect and their pasts are so similar. I love the chemistry between them as well as their introduction that helped build the connection and shared history they already have.

they are THE t4t bi4bi ship | franky telling robin "existing is not a crime" immediately puts this at number one for me | they are opposites (bright and loud + quiet and goth) but also they're both so eccentric and silly <3 | THEY WEAR MATCHING OUTFITS

They are STILL the Mom and the Dad of the Straw Hats, this is the one thing I don't care what Oda says <3 Also their interactions in Enies Lobby and Thriller Bark are amazing.

In my eyes, they are married. Some of my favorite character interactions in the manga/anime and in official art.

The duality of two kids who were just trying to chase their dream and having circumstances outside their control (the government) take everything they love away from them, but one choosing solitude and the other adopting every other person in a bad circumstance??? I love them. Plus they literally had couple moments from the first interaction.

A wholesome ship of a woman who feels the need to be constantly on edge trying to relax and a man who is a 110% himself from the moment we see him. the joy of frobin is the causal domesticity, in many color spreads and especially post timeskip we can see them casually enjoying the others company.

Remember when Franky was in Chopper's body in Punk Hazard and every time he spoke Robin was like "Franky. Stop talking. Do not talk while you're in Chopper's body."

So I’ve been looking into the blood types of one piece characters the past two days. If I get something wrong or whatever let me know. This is kinda just for fun for me tbh.

One piece blood types: A = X, B = F, O = S, AB = XF

First up is that Axe Hand Morgan XF(AB) and Helmeppo S(O) are weird because AB blood types can’t typically have O blood type kids. Though there are a few rare ways that could happen. So either Morgan is not his bio dad, or he’s got something going on.

Sora, Sanji’s mom, doesn’t have a blood type. We can guess that it’s F(B) because that’s Reiju’s blood type, her brothers are S(O) Rh-, and Judge is S(O). O and B parents can only have O and B kids.

Newgate F(B) could very well be Weevil’s S(O) pops since Stussy is S(O). Though anyone who doesn’t have AB could be his dad too. so idk

But this also doesn’t disprove Newgate being Crocodile’s S(O) pops or Crocodad/mom. Luffy is F(B), and so is Dragon.

I see a couple times people theorizing that maybe Shakky and Rayleigh are Mihawk’s parents, but Mihawk is S(O) and Rayliegh is XF(AB) which means he ain’t the daddy.

It’s also interesting that Ace and Roger are the only S(O) types in the D Clan (minus Lili, Rocks, and Rouge who don’t have blood types). The rest are all F(B).

Idk how to end this, just wanted to make some observations. If anyone wants to add anything feel free to do so!

I’ve been seeing a lot of theories on both Hancock and Mihawk being the biological kids of Rayleigh and Shakky and I want to subscribe to both of those at once because you know those two would be the bitchiest siblings. Absolutely insufferable to be around as all they do is make snide comments about each other’s styles and how they’re clearly the more successful child.
