Hullo! Do you have any updates for when the prompt list for this year’s Sharena week was dropping? I would like to start sketching those out asap.

Hello! First off, a HUGE apology for the delays this year for this event - a bunch of stuff piled up on me and I SEVERELY lost track of time and i'm only now catching up on stuff orz

I actually wanted to ask everyone who's interested in participating this year about Dates for the event. I had planned to host it around the same time as last year, during mid June, but that was when i meant to post the prompts in APRIL to give people time to prepare (oops...)

I know July has artfight going on, so it could be difficult to do it then, but I figured it's worth asking everyone what their thoughts are

(these are approximate dates, just for a general idea, i'd give exact ones once a decision is made)

as for the prompts, i'll make a nicer, prettier post for this later, but here they are for anyone who wants to start working on their entries! (sharenaweek WILL happen. regardless of the date. mark my words)

Day 4 - Forging Bonds

(Relationships - familial, platonic, romantic, any kind!)

The turning point of when Alfonse no longer became 'Alfonse' was when he made a plan, and through it, everyone he knew and held dear met with a terrible fate. The guilt was unbearable, and the cost of so many lives was unforgivable. He changed in so many ways that 'Alfonse' and anything that remained of him became too painful to reclaim.

In a bid of desperation, he followed another path, one built on the promises dangled in front of him that a softer and smaller part of him held doubt would ever be fulfilled, and yet, he followed it, fought for it, and lost anyways. Was he too overcome with grief to fight in his full capacity, in the face of people he knew and loved suddenly being alive again? Was he not so committed after all to watch them die a second time, this time more directly by his own hand? Or was an Alfonse who had yet lost sense of his own name simply better and stronger than him? It's hard to say.

But the world of heroes and summoners always had a weird relationship with fate and timelines and circumstances. Instead of be set down a path to serve yet another god with another dangled promise that toyed on his desperations, a summoner could pull him away to a different path. Another Sharena, so much like his own, but not quite. Allowed to live this time, spared from the grim mistakes that costed his own Sharena. Instead of reacting in fear and guarded caution as she should, there was care from a worried and dotting sister so like his own, yet not.

No amount of words of encouragement or care could erase what he did to his world and his sister. No amount of hearing Sharena telling him she forgave him would erase what happened, even as the words blurred if it was his own Sharena, or another, saying them. But Sharena was nothing if not radiant, determined, infectiously warm and optimistic, and so she still tries to pry out what little remained of her traumatized and haunted brother for as long as it takes, until one day he can forgive himself just enough for her words and sentiments to get through to him.

But is this his OG Sharena, or a Sharena of a different time? I'll leave that for you to decide.

Sharena's into under the cut

I can’t believe it, but the hero I’m telling you about today is… me? This me is from another world, and far older, advisor to the Askran King Alfonse, head of ambassadorial work, and a professor of philosophy on the side - wow! 

The hair she sports is a combination of mothers and mine - two buns on the side of the head and pig-tails like my pony-tail. That’s a lot of hair! Her skirt is like mothers, too, and looks very comfortable the detailing on the side of the dress reminds me of my boots, and the harness is similar to my skirt belt, and her armour has Askr’s crest! So cool! 

My - I mean her - weapons are good old Fensalir and three special tomes. If they remind you of Eir, Peony, and Veronica, they should! Each one is a study of the philosophy and magic of their realms Hel and Ymir, Ljósálfheimr, and Embla! And Sharena wrote them all! I can’t believe future me is so smart! 

Her world has established peace between Askr and Embla, and has an order of heroes dedicated to relief work and not war. That means she has time to study her passions like philosophy, culture, and making even more friends! I hope I can work as hard as her and grow up to form the peaceful world she speaks about! 

now a quick ramble on design:

Hair is similar to Celine's because I wanted it to be akin to Henriette's but still have the Sharena vibe

The reason she study's philosophy is because all that stuff with peony got her very existential and confused, she coped with it by looking into the philosophy of personhood and became hooked

I feel like her hair became more pink as she ages

the long skirt is because she mentions she would feel uncomfortable in the short DoD outfit Alfonse is in, therefore she would want something more flowy and comfy

I wanted to try to do something for Sharena Week but I didn't have any drawing ideas so I decided to attempt a sprite edit to make a Ljósálfheimr themed resplendent for her.

I wonder if I should try drawing this design sometime and maybe make some tweaks to it.

After some back and forth, we settled on June for this event - giving us nearly two months to work with as of posting this!

Day 1 - Past and Future

(Childhood memories, time post wars - anything before and after FE:H)

Throughout the books, as the stakes get higher and the future becomes bleaker, it's easy to lose sight of the future, when the present is already full of so much heartache and struggle.

But so long as Sharena's sheer will and determination holds and pushes through, there's a future the door hadn't quite closed on just yet: one where an image of a brave, legendary hero took charge. A queen ruling alongside her brother, one governing the kingdom and the other safeguarding its many ties across Zenith that cherish her so.

AKA a what-if where in a distant, powercrept future, we'll eventually see Legendary Sharena, and she'll hopefully be all manner of broken. Originally, this was meant to be a mirror, and older-Sharena a reflection of her, but due to time constraints I couldn't quite finish this in a way that was still presentable, so this'll do.

Day 7 - Free Day

In another time in a modernized and futuristic world compared to Zenith, there was a highly spirited girl, Sharena, who liked creating, yet didn't settle on any particular field. Perhaps complicating the indecisive issue was the jeering of her friend Anna, whenever Sharena did certain fields of art, particularly drawing. Between her drawings being dismissed as childish, and her brother Alfonse's being too cold and analytic to emote feeling, neither siblings and their art could help promote Anna's interests (or rather her profits), yet Sharena dismissed the concerns, as her art still brought her joy making them anyways. Nevertheless, she preservered into trying other wide ranges of creative feels, trying a bit of this, that, and everything while still searching for her calling.

Even in absence of a settled path, the passion of the hunt itself was more than enough to generate a potent amount of energy called performa, and with it, not only led her to broaden her horizons on what parts of the creative field to explore, but attracted dangers as well, in the form of stray mirages that wanted to feast on that performa.

During one of her outings with Anna and Alfonse, she was separated from them and outnumbered and cornered, and though determined to fight her way against the multiple mirages surrounding her, she was outmatched. Yet before this would've costed her life, there was a stronger mirage among the crowd who was overcome with emotions when they drew close enough to see her, and rather than join in on sealing her fate, the mirage suddenly turned against the others and protected her instead, as if suddenly overcome with a sense of recognition of who Sharena really was.

Drawn to suddenly manifest a part of her performa, then drawn further to combine it with this rogue mirage, the mirage suddenly transformed into the form of a fairy-like entity who unlocked a new form in Sharena known as Carnage Form, and with it, turned the tide of battles swiftly in Sharena's favor.

The fairy mirage was known as Mirage Peony, and though couldn't recall specific details, knew immediately that she and Sharena were entwined by fate in some way or another. In Carnage Form, Sharena can wield Mirage Peony in the form of the sentient weapon Mirage Fensalir, a weapon crafted from hopeful dreams that would assist in spreading joy and warding off the nightmarish rogue mirages. Thus began Sharena's new life as a Mirage Master.

And capping off this week is an AU what-if where Sharena hailed from the world of Tokyo Mirage Sessions, became a mirage master, and had a mirage alt of Peony at her side. While I know the usual conventions were that the weapon is a mirage alt of the original hero's weapon (for instance, Mirage Chrom has Mirage Falchion, Mirage Caeda has Mirage Feather, and so on), I tried to condense both Peony's Flower of Joy/Flower of Caring with Sharena's original Fensalir and shifted things around with the assumption Sharena was along the lines of Itsuki's and Tsubasa's level in this AU, rather than be a mirage variant herself, to reunite her with Fensalir in a way anyways.
